My mother is totally blind and has worked with service dogs from The Seeing Eye for over 30 years. She and my father approached the hostess to be seated, with her service dog clearly wearing identification. The hostess immediately told them they were not allowed to enter the restaurant with the dog. My mother calmly explained that the dog is a legally protected service animal and showed her official ID. Despite this, the hostess continued to refuse entry. After my father dialed the police to report the denial of access, the hostess returned and said the manager had now approved their entry (the manager never came out) -- but they would have to wait to be seated even though other patrons were being seated immediately. At that point, another patron who had overheard the entire exchange spoke up. She was visibly offended by what she had witnessed and graciously offered my parents her table as it was called. Her kindness was the bright spot in an otherwise upsetting situation. Once seated, our waitress was wonderful -- kind, attentive, and professional. The food was good as well. However, by then, the damage was done. What should have been a pleasant family meal became a stressful and emotional experience. Losing our appetite was inevitable after watching my mother be treated in a way that was not only hurtful, but unlawful. I hope management uses this experience as an opportunity to properly train staff on service animal laws and disability access. No family should have to endure what ours did just to enjoy a meal out.

The Rooster had so many great reviews however fell flat for us. Considering so little customers seated, breakfast took a very long time to come out. The pancakes were heavy and didn't come with anything so hubby ordered Al la cart eggs and smoked sausage aka is kielbasa which he didn't know prior to ordering. I ordered the southern sunrise, eggs were good so was the bacon nice and crispy, cheesy grits were just ok not great and the biscuits was a little heavy. All the butter was frozen solid so not easy to put on pancakes & biscuit. Mediocre at best and NOT worth the price we paid for breakfast. We wouldn't return.

Coast Roast had it all! We both had Irish Cream syrup, and it was the perfect latte. Just enough milk with great bean flavor and great syrup addition. Lots of wood trim and colorful accents and the girls that welcomed us in were "perky" (no pun intended). My wife got a LAVENDER HONEY LATTE and I got a CHURRO LATTE. We noticed they had lots of breakfast options (omelettes, quiche, skillets, breakfast burritos, baked goodies and more). We didn't get any but we were tempted. We sat outside and enjoyed out coffees; my wife loved her latte and my Churro was sweet and delicious... and off we went for our hike thru the Cypress Wetlands. Afterward, I reminded my wife how good some of the bakery stuff looked so we ventured back in for round two... This time I had an Iced Cold Brew (can't recall if any special flavor) and we also got a couple items to snack on.... we shared a over the top, super rick BROWNIE and we also got a slice of BANANA BREAD (both were excellent).

The service was wonderful, friendly and attentive without hovering, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. It all tasted fresh and well prepared. But we noticed several of the staff were indifferent and ignoring incoming customers. Regulars know to sign in for seating by the back entrance. But several groups coming in the front door were completely ignored and just stood there waiting to be greeted/acknowledged. Other customers were directing new comers on where to sign in for seating. Even as staff dodged around these new comers they ignored them. Once you signed in staff continued to ignore you until your table was ready. No acknowledgement or greeting. I just thought it was the most bizarre way to do business. I would recommend if you want great food, and southern hospitality that you visit Blackstone's Cafe instead.
