We came here on Christmas Day, so we were prepared for this place to be a mad house... still ... the amount of carry-out folks was very surprising. We were actually seated right away, and even waited on fairly quickly. However the food took forever, we expected no less after seeing the entire lobby continuously full with carry-out customers... Our server kept us hydrated with coffee and water during our wait. It was over an hour after we ordered. But server remained friendly and attentive. The food was actually fresh, piping hot and delicious. So no complaints there. It was obviously NOT parked under a heat lamp, which we appreciated. It was very busy in there which is great for the business and the servers but very claustrophobic as patrons all felt like they were on top of one another. Service was fast, but a little rushed. I haven't been to IHOP in years and was a little leery but the food did not disappoint! I ordered the lemon berry ricotta French toast, with hash browns and sausage links with a large orange juice. It was pretty empty so it didn't take too long for my food to come. All of my food was hot and very tasty. The waitress was very attentive to me and my daughter. I have to remain completely honest here. I did not have good expectations coming in at first, because I have not had very many good experiences at IHOP in general. However, this one was not bad at all. It was around 2:00 in the morning, and this was the only restaurant open in the area. The restaurant was not only well-kept, but the food I received was very good. Especially compared to any other early-morning food order I've ever had. You never know what you'll get at those hours. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with French Fries and a Diet Pepsi. They loaded up my sandwich up full with Steak, extra Onions, and extra American Cheese as I asked for. The soda was even good! They must have just rotated the syrup, because it was better than usual. I'm not even a fan of Pepsi Products, but it was very crisp and filled my carbonation craving. I was definitely pleased, and left with a better outlook than I thought I would. This location in particular gives me hope for IHOP. It's not the restaurant chain itself, but the employees who are in charge of running it late at night. I will definitely be back if I ever need a 2:00 a.m. food run! read more

Usually, I love IHOP, but this location is the worst! I visited here yesterday, late-morning, on a whim with my aunt. The last time we went to this location, which we'd both totally forgotten about until little instances began reminding us, my aunt had been served a stack of pancakes with a scoop of scrambled eggs on it instead of butter. It wouldn't melt, obviously, and when my aunt went to try and spread it, we realized it was scrambled eggs. The waitress kept trying to convince us otherwise and held tight to her belief that it was, in fact, butter....but promised to bring my aunt more! It was ridiculous and frustrating. Clearly, it was eggs and she wouldn't just admit it and apologize on behalf of the kitchen staff. Yesterday's visit wasn't much better. Upon arriving, I asked if a woman had just come in by herself asking for a table for two. The young woman at the host stand responded, "Two?!", as she grabbed two menus and began looking for an open table. I repeated my question and she pointed me to the only corner of the restaurant not visible from the door. As I zig-zagged my way through the crowded seating area, I noticed that the table she was seated at didn't even appear to be clean. As I sat down, I realized that it hadn't been wiped. The server, who was delivering a glass of water to my aunt as I was approaching, asked for my drink order at time. I ordered coffee and noticed that he was chewing on a broken toothpick. Yuck! He returned with a mug and the entire carafe of coffee, which he left there, I imagine to avoid having to return to check on us. The table already had sweetener and creamer in a bowl, so this worked for me. I also asked for a glass of water, which he brought as well. The water, which I finished about halfway through our visit, never got refilled. To be honest, the waiter seemed completely clueless. Tables around us, who seemed to have a better rapport with the waiter, would speak to him while he was trying to help us and he would become very distracted. My aunt ordered pancakes with sausage and hashbrowns along with a small glass of milk. The server asked if 2% would be okay and she confirmed that it would. I ordered a cup of loaded potato soup and a house salad, no tomato with ranch dressing. I also asked to add shredded cheese. When the order came out, my salad, which should've come with red onion, had huge chunks of raw, white onion on it. When I told him that it was supposed to be red onion, he initially responded that they didn't have any. Then, after seeing my facial expression, he revised his statement and began forming a circle by cupping his hands together. He said, "well, they do have it....it's just big." I believe he was trying to saying that it hadn't been sliced. I asked him to request sliced red onion for my salad because I was not about to eat raw, white onion on mine. The salad also had a ridiculous amount of shredded cheese atop it. The proportion to the amount of salad greens was way off. Once he returned with red onion (rather quickly, in fact) I chopped my salad and there was a ton of cheese layering the bottom of the bowl. I tasted my soup, and since it was already lukewarm, I chose to eat it immediately. After which, I decided to just take the salad home. When the waiter returned with our bill, I asked for a box for my salad and a lid for my dressing cup. My aunt asked for the milk that she never received. He apologized, stating that we hadn't been charged for it and after offering us both other beverages to make up for it, my aunt stated that she just wanted the milk. He returned with it and forgot the box. It took another 10-15 minutes before I saw him again to request it a second time. He didn't recall me having asked at all. The level of service here is poor and the food is basic. I will not return to this particular location. read more

I went yesterday to pick up and order and I never got it. I'm definitely not mad, nor am I complaining about my order. I completely understand, and I take the blame for ordering on Mother's Day lol. My problem though, is that while waiting (over an hour past my schedule pick up time) I watched the young host at the front for who was trying to keep everyone sane (while we all stood there like a pack of animals waiting) get completely talked down to by another member of staff. I'm assuming she was the cook, because once I spoke to her she mentioned being the only one back there. I definitely am giving her the benefit of the doubt, but watching her talk down to this boy doing his best was heartwrenching. It's dehumanizing and embarrassing for him. Laugh, is all I can do at this staff crew. After being told 10 minutes, we are waiting for over 25 when there are plenty of tables open and I know with covid we are trying to stay at 50% occupancy but come on people. If I see the staff are able to sit customers back to back in the booths, but once they become empty it's got to be at least over a half hour before the empty tables are cleaned off for the next customers. As staff congregate at the host stand and talk about their weekend plans, there's a ton of empty tables waiting to have people sitting at them. It was only once we asked if we could sit in the empty booths were we denied and then they started to finally put other customers in those seats. read more

I came in wanting everything on the menu due to have a stressful day at work. I wanted Pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon and hash browns. First she recommended the pancake sliders. It's unfortunate that this location is getting a 1 star from me. My biggest issue is they are not social distancing/ limited capacity like they should. This restaurant was full every table full. They also are not cleaning tables between people which is disgusting. For the food it was warm ish like it had been sitting there a little while, the pancakes were cold. Not worth saying anything since the staff were just pushing people in and out with no concern for quality. Our waitress was training but only took our order then brought our check didn't check on us once. It has been a little while since we've been to this particular IHOP but we were on that side of town and thought we try it out again so I ordered the southwest chicken breakfast bowl. It was delicious. I got a side of pancakes with it now I must say that the calorie count was well over 1200 cal plus for the entire meal. It came with hot queso sauce and salsa, grilled chicken and eggs and hashbrowns. Very flavorful hearty dish my wife ordered the the old fashion pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. She did ask for crispy bacon, but unfortunately received wilted bacon. So she was a little bit disappointed. but we will return again. Johan my server literally gave me the incorrect change, and pulled the money from his pocket. He didn't even scan the receipt, and kept the 40$. My change was 15.42, but gave me two dimes and a nickel and $15, and told me to have a nice day. When I asked for my change, he freaked out and pulled money out of his pocket. He did not scan the barcode of the receipt, or open the register for change. He pulled money, OUT OF HIS POCKET. This is the saddest IHOP I've ever been to. I've dined there twice and service was lackluster both times. My most recent visit was a party of about 10. We understood that because of our size, service might take longer and that was fine. However, there was only one person on the floor, covering 10 tables. To make it worse, it was a staff member in training. There miiiight have been a staff in the kitchen and a manager, bringing up the team to 3. Long story short, meals came out incorrectly for 7/10 folks, bills were wonky and the dishes were overcooked. I am not looking to blame the trainee-- a manager should know better than to leave them to fend for themselves. Maybe everyone called out. Okay, I'm surprised to give 5 stars. But it's deserved. Went to this IHOP on a late Sunday morning expecting crowds, chaos, and bad service, since, well, it's IHOP on W 38th. I was pleasantly surprised! First, it wasn't busy (thank you Colts game) and while we felt forgotten about in the beginning, we soon learned that some staffing issue must have happened and the "new" server along with the manager came alerting us to our "new" server who was also kind enough to tell us where her station area was in case we needed her for anything, which we never did because her service was wonderful and her name was Amber. Food came out fast and hot, drinks never were near empty, and dirty dishes would disappear before we could even notice we had them. So a situation that could have gone wrong went so right! Who knew! This store does not know anything about customer service. The staff just stands around, and looks bored while there are customers waiting to be served. They have the slowest staff possible. I have been there on two occasions and both times been disappointed. 1) ordered online, went to pick it up and still had to wait another 30 minutes from the listed time before I even got my food. They only had one server helping to go orders and running the register on a Sunday morning. Not to mention the drivers for Uberfood who had to wait longer. Once we got home, food was cold (3 minute drive) and still missing a couple items. 2) This evening (Saturday night) went there and there was only one server working. There were 5 families waiting, including us, and the wait was extremely long to even get our drink order. There was one other guy who came out of the back to wipe off a table and that was it. One by one, each family got up to leave as none of us were getting service. From 5 families, the restaurant got no money as none of us got service. As we were leaving, our server and 4 other people were standing around the kitchen chatting with coats on ready to leave. Unless this location can improve their customer service, I would recommend you to not even visit. read more

They will come and check on you at the table and ask how everything is. Or ask if we need anything. It's usually the older Staff that has the excellent service. The young people have been friendly but I feel lack training. Not all but a few. Never will forget the time my daughter, grandson & I went for dinner there. They took our orders & my daughter & grandson got their food & I was still waiting. They were half way through by the time my food came & my order was missing stuff. Dang! I wish there was a zero rating. My husband was hungry for Country Fried steak so we stupidly opted for IHOP. We got there at about 7pm and the place was empty (should've been our first sign). Our server was kind but it was downhill from there. It took what felt like forever to get our food and when it finally came the steak was over done, the hash browns were under-cooked and squishy, the eggs were rubbery and it was lacking gravy (which is typically what makes the meal for us). We asked for extra gravy three times but our waiter was too distracted by flirting with the other servers. I really hate to complain but dang what a waste of money and time. read more

Boy do I have a review for you. This location is the worst. Management does not care about cleanliness. One of the employees had dropped some sauce containers on the floor and no one cleaned it up for 20 minutes. All while it was dirty people just kept stepping over it and one employee almost fell. AND this is employee was holding sugar packets and they USED them after dropping them on the floor. There was also suppose to be a 50% capacity and they were not following the six feet apart rules. We had people sat right behind us. The waitress also took my husbands cup physically away into the back to grab him more coffee and ended up being back a completely different cup with a brown sticky substance on the outside which was NOT there before. Now comes food delivery. They forgot to give us silverware and syrup for our French toast which obviously gets syrup with it. We had to ask a random person to get us syrup and utensils. But guess what the food was actually pretty good and that was the only good thing about it. Okay! So first off my husband and I would give the food four stars. We got the appetizer sampler and both ordered burgers--I got the Denver Omelette Burger and added avocado, he got the Mega Monster Cheeseburger and added bacon. It was all very tasty, but we had a few issues along the way. The IHOP website advertises that from June 6th to July 31st they will offer free refills on fries with the purchase of a burger. We thought that was great and we asked the server about it before ordering, and she said that was fine. AFTER we ordered, she came back and said the manager told her "they forgot to update the website" and they couldn't give us the free refills which the website advertised. I asked for clarification, but the same explanation was repeated. So I switched to hash browns, my husband kept his order the same. The food arrived--no bacon on his burger, and we were given salsa instead of marinara with our sampler, but they quickly remedied both of those issues and did not charge us for bacon or extra ranch with our sampler. Bonus points, good customer service there. Payment for our dinner was simple enough--use the rest of the balance on an IHOP gift card, and pay the difference with a VISA gift card. I explained this at the register, but somehow we got charged $19.57 on the Visa AND $25 on our IHOP gift card. Very confusing why this happened, the shift manager tried to fix it but we're still waiting to see if the transaction updates and fixes itself. If not we'll have to call the store and try again when the general manager is there. All in all, the food was good, waitress was average, but the inability to fulfill an advertised promotion and the experience we had while paying makes this a 3 star review. read more
