When I say this place sucks it's an understatement. This place and service was literally HORRIBLE!!!! Literally walked into a mess of plates EVERYWHERE! The food tasted like shit, the waitress walked up to us telling us that they were under staffed which was strange because there was only 2 tables in there INCLUDING my teammates and I. Both the manager didn't even try to help the waitress and was walking around the restaurant with her phone on speaker very loud. What was worse is that the waitress and manager were in the bathroom for about 25-30 minutes and when she came out THEN SHE PUT OUR ORDER IN!!!!! If I could give this place a negative score I would. One of the things that we wanted to do when we visited the States again was get a stack of pancakes and we ended up visited this IHop twice; served by different people each time. The first visit was my wife, our daughter, her baby and I. Elle and I both had a combo (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon and hashbrowns) - with a choice of pancake styles from original buttermilk to belgium dark chocolate mousse. I liked the look of the cinn-a-stack pancakes and Elle had traditional buttermilk pancakes. The food was good and the service was reasonable; we did have to ask twice to get our coffee topped up. The second visit was a little worse and was with my wife, our daughter, her baby, our daughter-in-law and our other grandson. Once again both Elle and I had combos but I had extra pancakes...Yeah they were that good! However the waitress got the order wrong a little with our daughter and daughter-in-law; one wanting her relish on the side and getting it on the plate instead. The other wanting bacon inside her bacon temptation omelette but getting it on the outside and covered with cheese instead. Then the waitress insisting that's what "inside" the omelette means..... The combos were pretty good however! Our grandson had Southwest scramble with extra eggs which it sounds like was pretty good too as he ate the whole thing. So as other's have said for this IHop, the service isn't as good as it should be, but the food is mostly pretty good. read more

This review will be in three parts: 1. The place is lovely and clean! My table was staged, the greeter was charming, and the parking lot did not have any debris or trash. 2. The food was hot, tasty, and served quickly! I ordered the build your own pancake combo. I picked the Mexican Tres Leches pancakes. (Pancakes layered with vanilla sauce and dulce de leche.) The topping wasn't layered as described, making it a little sad because who doesn't love vanilla cream on their pancakes! I picked scrambled eggs and sausage patties. I also ordered a hot chocolate (sad that it was instant, but warm and chocolatey, so it hit the spot!) to have before my food came and an orange Juice with my dinner. The total came to $12.30. I tipped my server $2.70, a little over 20%. But I should not have. 3. When I was seated by Justen C (the name on the ticket) he asked me if I wanted any warm coffee or something to drink. I opted for water until I ordered my food because it was late, about 9:30 PM. He said he would be back in a minute to check on me. 20 minutes pass, in a fairly empty restaurant with no return of the server. I called the restaurant- because I didn't see anyone except the 15 people at the door (no exaggeration, it was a party!) waiting to be seated. I chose to call the restaurant to ask if I could order. My server appeared immediately to take my order and then never came back! A different young person delivered my hot chocolate, no whipped cream, no spoon. The manager delivered my food, quickly behind my hot chocolate, so no phasing. I didn't get to drink it. They brought me bacon (ick!) instead of sausage, which she quickly remedied. No orange juice. 7 or more minutes pass- no server. There were servers sitting at a nearby table so I did the most loathsome thing and called out to get their attention and have my oj. Still no return of my server. After I finished (again- the food was super tasty!!) I waited. I got the attention of a server and asked for my bill. When he dropped it off he noticed I was on yelp beginning my review. He began to apologize, for another servers mistake. Torrey was a saving grace, so that I could leave and come home. It is daunting to go out to dinner alone. After a hard night of working- serving tables and drinks- sometimes you do not want to be social or drink your dinner. I hope that a restaurant that seems to only struggle on the service side figures out these hiccups. Remember, I CALLED the restaurant to get a server to my table. He disappeared. The response was "we were prepping for a party." Bad form IHOP. read more

I went into this IHOP on 465 and 38th Street. The time was approximately 11 a.m. Monday morning November 11th. I was seated at a table. There are other couples around me. So to pastime I played solitary on my phone. I played for at least 15 minutes when the first two couples got up and left. They were apparently here for half an hour before me and they have not been served. About five minutes later another couple got up left they were not served . I waited until 11:30 when I myself got up and left. No waitress, no busboy, no management, no hostess on my side of the building. I Now understand why this place has a 2 star on Yelp!! read more

This place really went to shit. They lie, this is not 24 seven, and even if you happen to call ahead of time and they tell you that yes they are open, and yes they will serve you, no they will not. They'll make you drive all across town just to tell you that "they are not taking any more tables right now" even though it's not busy, and they are supposedly "open". if you do get to eat here, the service is shitty. long waits, cold food and half the things on the menu aren't available. Good was pretty good. Terrible service however. Our server, Leslie took a while to greet us and wasn't the most pleasurable. Had to ask twice for her to bring my sons apple juice & my order was brought to me incorrectly. It was kind of busy but not enough to be as flustered as she seemed. I will never ever go here. Very worst customer experience. I ordered food 30 mins early and went to pickup around 11 PM. No one was in front desk. I see waitress standing, but not even acknowledging me. Very few customers inside (May be 5 ~ 8). After 10 mins of wait, I lost patience and went in to ask about my order. My experience was terrible, the manager on the early morning shift (3 - 11 am )JOSH was REALLY rude to me and told me that if I didn't like what service I was getting I could go some where else. He also lied and said I cussed at him and I didn't after I confronted him on the wrong wait times that I was quoted. This is the location on west 38th street over the bridge!!! I have never been disappointed by an IHOP until visiting this location. Not only did an order for two people take 25 minutes in a quarter full restaurant, but both of our meals were incorrect. I sent mine back, and 15 minutes later I got yet another wrong meal. Our server was kind and smiley, but gave us the wrong drinks and rang up our check incorrectly as well. When I asked for the manager at the cashiers stand, I was questioned why and given blank looks like nothing wrong happened after I explained everything. The manager acted like we were inconveniencing him, but eventually removed one of our meals off the check (still leaving other incorrect charges on it). We accepted that and left, but will never be back. I would strongly urge anyone considering visiting this IHOP location to go elsewhere. read more

One of my favorite places to come to. I usually get the same thing, which is the waffle. Food is usually hot, there has been a time that it wasn't. Service isn't as fast as it could be, but maybe they don't have enough servers. In my opinion, they do need more workers. Additionally, for some reason when you use a credit card when you're eating to go, they have to get the receipt from the back. You use your debit or credit card at the front, and they retrieve the receipt from the back? Weird. I would give a negative score if I could. I went in for the Veteran's Day meal offer, and was seated at 7:47pm, 11 Nov 2019. There were two servers caring for 3 tables, and a total of 8 adults and 6 children. I was ignored for 13 minutes until I waved a server over, and asked if I could have some coffee and place my order. The server (who was a trainee) apologized, and then continued to ignore me. The other server finally came over, telling me that she would be my server, and to ignore the other server, as she was a trainee, and "doesn't know what she's talking about". I asked for regular pancakes instead of the pancakes with the strawberries, blueberries and whip cream (my THIRD time saying this to both servers). I was finally given a coffee canister, but no coffee cup. By this time, 16 minutes had elapsed. Two tables of people and their 6 kids were leaving. The trainee came out a few minutes later with a stack of their Veteran's Day pancakes, which I had repeatedly asked NOT to have. She became very flustered. I suggested she give them away, and get me regular pancakes. She never came to my table again. 2 minutes later, the remainder of my meal arrived. By the time I had finished my meal, I still didn't have my pancakes. I decided that I had endured enough, and walked to the counter to check out. I paid $2.71 for my coffee, and left no tip. I wrote that I had NEVER had such horrible service as I had tonight on the top of the ticket. The woman that checked me out appeared to be a manager. She had walked by other tables and talked to the people there, but never came to my table to inquire how I was doing. I have served my country in and out of uniform for over 41 years - I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1975 at age 17. One could think that I was getting substandard service because I was not a 'paying customer'. Well, there were 6 other 'non-paying customers' in IHOP that night -- the 6 children who were eating for free.
