Love this place. I usually get a cup of fruit along with breakfast staple items but instead of being served a simple cup with maybe 3-4 varieties of fruit in it, I'm presented with a fruit tray, almost a charcuterie, of six different fruits which was unexpected. Now this tray was a bit more expensive than a cup of fruit from some other places, but that's OK because the fruit was ripe and flavorful and well worth it. It's good to change-up the expected every now and then. I will definitely re-order it again. I;m looking forward to another visit real soon. I haven't tried the Bananas Foster Waffle yet but it looks completely over the top and crazy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that appeared to me to be the size of a softball as I was hypnotized by it and trapped in its vortex of apparent deliciousness, Sadly it was ordered and delivered to another table. My only nit-pic would be that the chef work on the scrambled eggs a bit more and not too cook them longer, but cook them slower so they come out fluffier, moist, and without any browning on the underside. A chopped up omelet is not scrambled eggs. The eggs were still good but there was room for improvement here. I realize the chef is trying to get food out as quickly as possible, and its easy to let scrambled eggs go too long on the heat, so maybe I'll mention it to the wait staff that the eggs do not need to be hurried. The wait staff was prompt and attentive, and the various style of PJ's were a nice touch. The front of house is kind of big so noise can be an issue but it wasn't terrible on my most recent visit with the dining room about 3/4 full. If the restaurant got enough complaints about the noise levels, it would be pretty easy to fix with some strategically placed sound abatement materials to cut down the noise level even further in the dining room. read more

My wife and I had quite possibly the worst experience we have had in a long time here. We came in at 1pm on a Sunday, and the place was somewhat busy. It was hottt in the restaurant, almost causing me to sweat. We were at in the middle of the room surrounded by other tables- the place was loud which compounded the heat we were feeling. I ordered the biscuits and gravy combo. The biscuits were hard, the gravy cold, and tasted as if they had been sitting out all day. Lacked much flavor at all. The hashbrowns were undercooked, and had a chemical taste to them. The bacon was chewy and greasy. Service was another part that compounded on the terrible experience. Our sever was more interested in standing at the checkout counter chatting with her friends. Refills were non existent. My wife had gotten pancakes with her meal. Our food came out, and her pancakes were missing, but we were reassured they were coming. We see pancakes coming, but they go to a table that arrived ~15 minutes after us. More pancakes coming, but they went to an another table that came after us. We finish our meal, and no pancakes in sight. Our waitress brings our bil. "Hey my wife had pancakes with her meal and they never came." "Oh I can go see where they are." "We are finished with our meal. We don't really want them." "Oh I can box them up for you." "No thanks. We would rather them just be taken off the bill." "Okay, let me go do that for you." She returns, says they can't be taken off because they are part of a combo. We understand that, but we never received them, nor do we want them as the meal is finished. The only thing I can do is box them up for you. We decline. No other ways to try to reprimand the situation. We pay. She goes up to the counter, starts talking to her friends, and they all look over and start laughing at us. As we are walking out, we are visibly upset. One of the friends goes "have a good day." We don't say anything. "Please come back to see us." We don't say anything. "Hope you come back." This is childish behavior. Ultimately, food was terrible, service was awful, and ambiance was poor. Waffle House would have afforded us better service, more appetizing food, and would have cost half the price. read more

Came in at 1p because I hadn't eaten all day... wish I would have just continued with the not eating. I got a chocolate milk and an omelette. The drinks came out quick. Then the food reasonably timed afterwards. My omelette came with 2 pancakes, which I was told they were waiting for them to come up. I saw others get there's, but mine never came by the time I "finished" my other items. (Review on those below). The waitress brought the check unprompted and we asked if she could take the pancakes off since I never got them, sure, she walks away to do so. Comes back and saus she can't "because it comes with the meal" I said "oh but it didn't come with the meal? You never brought it like you promised" she says she can box some up for me, I said "no thanks I don't want to microwave pancakes!" She then walks away to run our card and is laughing with all the other waitresses about it! Here's what you should have did: apologized! (You made the error, you told me you were waiting for fresh ones to come up, you forgot about me!), offered to take off something else (like a drink!) since you couldn't cancel out the pancakes! Other food item reviews: omelette had maybe one egg in it and 7 pieces of bacon - I was basically just chewing bacon, hashbrown a tasted like they were microwaved for maybe 15 seconds, chocolate milk is good though! Gave this a try for breakfast recently and we were...underwhelmed. Most of what we had was just ok, though the one exception to that was the home fries. Those were excellent. They had a nice, crispy texture, and came out hot. Our biggest gripe was the price for what we got. For what we paid, particularly for basic substitutions, we'd expect good quality from-scratch dishes, and that didn't appear to be the case here. Ultimately, if you're looking for a good breakfast around Franklin Township, this will do, though you'd likely find a better value elsewhere on the southside. read more

The menu is pretty robust offering a decent variety of things and some morning 'brunch' type beverages such as mimosa's. The menu did not appear to have anything off the wall or super original, but had the normal breakfast items. I ended up with the biscuit and gravy combo, the kids got some pancakes and french toast. My Bs and G combo was pretty good, nothing crazy memorable good or bad. The kids seemed to enjoy their breakfast, but was about the same, not incredibly good or bad. The kids meals for $6.99 but we added on some OJ and Chocolate milk.. overall the bill was roughly $35 which i'm happy to pay for a what i assume is a locally owned business. Ordered through Ubereats and paid for 2 orders of bacon but only received 1. Received 2 orders of pancakes and no syrup. When I called to let them know the order was wrong, they told me I only was charged for 1 order of bacon so I had to walk the lady through basic math in addition to being told my pancake order didn't come with syrup. I've been here a few times and it's pretty good. I've only ever had the chilaquiles. It's delicious and not something I can get everywhere. The salsa is tangy and a little bit spicy. I always get scrambled eggs with it and it's topped with white onion, avocado and sour cream and served with hashbrowns on the side. They have great service and are always very attentive with coffee refills. We typically go on the weekend and it's always packed. This time there were 3 families in front of us waiting but it took us less than 5 minutes to get seated. Even though it's super busy, the service is still pretty quick. I had the Chorizo Skillet with over easy eggs. My meal came with either 2 pancakes or toast, I chose the pancakes. When I was seated I noticed the booth next to the requested only had a party of 2. I asked to speak with the manager to ask about the why 2 could be seated and party of 3 could not. Manager replied you don't like it you can leave. Yes, I left and we went to Cracker barrel and had incredible service. To the manager it's really not difficult to provide good customer service. I've been waiting for the traffic to die down a little. Whenever there is a new restaurant in Franklin Township it's always packed to the brim with people. So this morning we got up early on a Sunday to make our way to Rise and Shine. We were greeted by two hostesses as soon as we arrived and sat down right away. They have a pretty extensive menu from eggs, to skillets to crepes. One of the things I really liked was their selection of pancakes. They have strawberry banana, cinnamon swirl, and blueberry just to name a few. Hubby got the biscuits and gravy and hash browns. I'm doing Keto so I only had the fresh fruit and ham but I plan to come back on a cheat day for the pancakes or crepes. When we checked out the manager/owner (?) was working the cash register.
