Met a friend here for a weekend brunch. This location was not as busy as others have been around that time, but for me that was a bonus. Love their menu and particularly the specials. There is always something interesting. You can tell the food is made with quality ingredients and you can get your classics as well as innovative breakfast dishes and drinks. The food comes in generous portions and the prices remain reasonable even through these trying times. Their coffee is great and you get your own carafe, so you don't have to wait for refills, which I love. I do drink a lot of coffee. Staff is friendly and very helpful. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots! I almost always order off of the seasonal menu and this time I tried the Banana Brittle French toast; it was topped with bananas, blueberries, almonds, almond butter and a lemon whipped cream. Amazing! I also had their famous million dollar bacon and a seasonal Watermelon Wakeup that was made with watermelon, pineapple lime and mint. Let me start by saying I love first watch but this was my first and last time going to this location. We were sat immediately with no issues. It was myself, my husband and 3 of our friends. Maybe they felt intimidated because it was a table full of respectful black people but we were never serviced and sat there for over 20 minutes and not once did our waitress stop to introduce themselves, offer us water, or give us a time frame. I've been wanting to try this upscale cafe in a local strip mall for sometime. We stopped for early Sunday breakfast. The staff is friendly and we were seated immediately. The dining room has a country farmhouse vibe with a mix of tables and booths. The menu offers a mix of heathy and trendy breakfast and lunch options. I opted for the Power Wrap. I'm not usually a turkey lover, but the blend of egg whites, turkey, spinach and mushrooms was delicious. The fruit side was perfectly ripe and fresh. I loved my breakfast. A special summer menu offers fun brunch cocktails and summer-themed food options. My husband ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cornbread off of the Summer menu. He devoured the big round of cornbread and said it was the perfect breakfast. Weird, I know. Marri-Anna, our server, was super friendly, accommodating and efficient. Since we were first timers, she offered us samples of two of their freshly made, fruit juices. I tried the Morning Meditation which was a blend of orange, beet, lemon, ginger and agave nectar. The juice was earthy, colorful and delicious. My husband tried the Purple Haze which was a blend of lemon, sugar, pea flower tea and lavender. He loved the juice. I'd come back just for the juices. And it's been a good breakfast diner for us. I have always had the Traditional breakfast but adding extra egg and sausage, it was very filling. Bacon was also very crispy. I eat here a lot and have a few business meetings here but lately I have not been able to drive and I've been having to get items delivered and the onsite service is excellent. Delivery and orders need a little work. I ordered twice in a row delivery and the first time they didn't include my drink in the order. The second time, today I asked for no ice in my drink to accommodate for the drive, so they gave me a smaller drink cup with no ice instead of the regular sized cup with no ice. Great food and service but sucks when small corners like this are cut because it ruins the experience. read more

It's admittedly been awhile since my last First Watch visit. We ended up choosing this spot for our recent breakfast date for two key reasons- 1.) plenty of heathy options on the menu and 2.) it's located a few doors down for. Trader Joe's (can it get any better than that?) Another great reason we discovered along the way is that they offer "join the waitlist" before you arrive. I first encountered First Watch years ago when hosting a Yep event. I'm so glad to add it back into our rotation with this 86th street location. It's hard to beat the healthy kale juice, power wrap featuring turkey, spinach, egg whites and mozzarella and a guilty-pleasure lemon ricotta pancake for a shared appetizer. The staff was very friendly and on top of things. I also appreciated all of their little touches to show of where ingredients and materials for the restaurant are sourced. Busy but good breakfast spot. We went there for Sunday brunch and unsurprisingly there were many people waiting. We gave them our name and were told it will be about 30 minutes. And we got a text saying our table is ready, it was a bit over 30 minutes. We were escorted to this 2-top table right in front of the kitchen entrance with bright white light and busy foot traffic. I thought that was an awkward to spot to put a table in. Luckily, there were other tables available and we were seated there instead after asking the hostess nicely. It was very busy and the service was a bit slow. Our server did the minimum, and was not friendly. She took our orders, brought us our dishes, asked us if everything is ok, and never came back until we had to wait for a while and find her to request a check. My omelette was so delicious! I stopped here the other day for breakfast. They have a great selection. I ordered the smoked salmon and vegetable omelet. It came with a choice of breakfast fries or salad. I chose the salad. It also had a small piece of toast that accompanied it. The omelette was open face so really more a frittatta. It was filled with salmon and was tasty but I would have liked more vegetables and maybe a little dill. The salad of lettuce was okay- nothing to write about. The bread was a little too crunchy. Update: four phone calls later, I spoke with a manager by the name of Melissa. Very nice, took all my info again but didn't tell me to call back. Melissa kept me on the phone until she found my transaction, saw that I was charged for two omelets and corrected the issue then and there. Very nice and the Headquarters of First Watch should be honored to have her as an employee. This was in response to a review from 4-11-24 as I joined three friends for lunch. Had a 12 dollar omelet and coffee but was charged over 38 dollars. Was upset, to say the least. After four tries by phone, a wonderful snd caring manager by the name of Melissa, did not tell me to call back but kept me on the phone as she did her research, found the error and apologized. Stopped for a quick bite on a road trip. We were delighted to find First Watch. This is not your typical traditional breakfast place. Great menu with seasonal specials, fresh juices and healthy options in addition to the traditional skillets, omelette and pancakes. We opted for Avocado toast and a yummy breakfast bowl topped with fresh fruit and accompanied with almond butter on whole grain toast. I was not going to have coffee but the aroma around me was too tempting. Delicious fresh brewed coffee to fuel me for the next leg of the trip. It has been seven years or so since my original review of this northwest side location of First Watch. I had the opportunity for a visit today, Easter Sunday, and found it to be a significantly better visit than my originally reviewed visit. Thus, it seems appropriate to update my review and move that rating up a star. First Watch is a multi-state chain of breakfast/brunch restaurants. While I'm not the healthiest diner, the truth is I admire their combination of healthy options, a pleasant atmosphere, and typically warm/friendly service. This is located in a fairly lengthy strip center near 86th & Township Line and it's directly next to a new Paco's. There are accessible parking spots at various points along the strip and curb cuts. It's a fairly traditional accessibility set-up - it meets ADA but barely. It has a combo of booths, 2-tops, and 4-tops. It looked like they also set up some outside tables as appropriate. As you enter through the double-sided glass doorway, there's a hosting/cashier area to the right. Tables/booths are behind this area. I arrived in the early morning and it was the rare occasion I didn't have a wait. It was starting to pick up as I left. I was seated at a comfortable two-top. I'm not always a two-top fan as I'm a wheelchair user and it can feel crowded. However, these two-tops are decent-sized and it worked. There was a young woman (I'm getting to the age where that's nearly every woman) working the hosting area who ended up also being my server. I failed to get her name. She was friendly and helpful. She offered water and then took my order. They served a bottle of water that you could pour into a small glass. I ordered a single pancake and a side of their seasoned potatoes. I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. I've become a huge fan of their potatoes and hadn't had them since my August hospitalization. I was more than a little excited. They didn't disappoint. The pancake was also quite good - it always is. However, the potatoes were the pleaser here. I initially thought I wasn't going to get asked about a refill (a major faux pas for me since I nearly always want one), however, this was slightly redeemed by being asked if I wanted one to go. The final price came in right around $14-15 without a tip. I tipped a tad more than usual - hey, it's Easter. Jesus has risen and so should my tip. Seriously, I still give a slight nod to the Fashion Mall location. It just feels warmer there, though it's a bigger spot and the crowds/noise can get a bit overwhelming at times. That said, this visit was much more like the First Watch experience I expect. The service was friendly, the food was quite good, the atmosphere was pleasant, and I left a happy diner with my iced tea refill. So, yeah. I'm taking this up to a 4-star experience. read more

Me and my boyfriend got tired of our go-to restaurants for the day and decided to try some new food around the area. We've passed first watch many times but never gave it a shot and thought "why not!" and it did not disappoint! I love the atmosphere. The color scheme was green, brown, grey, white. Reminds me of my grandmas house in the spring! We dined on the day of the eclipse and because of that I feel like service was not up to par but it wasn't horrible either. For drinks we had were amazing! I wish I knew the names. Notes were fruity, tropical, pineapple, orange, and lime. The French toast was filling and sweet and the Salmon Frittata was perfect I'm not a fan of egg or veggies, but I am a fan of salmon and I wanted to try something different. First watch is one of my favorite places to go to brunch. They have so many seasonal options, and a decent amount of healthier options. The environment is inviting, lively and clean. I do typically add my party to the online waitlist when I'm on my way to help decrease the wait time. I like to get one of their juices. I love the kale cucumber juice, but they're all super good and refreshing. The coffee is good as well, and they have a decent selection of lattes, cold brew, etc. For food, you can't go wrong with one of the skillets. They're my favorite and they always have a new one to try. You can't go wrong with a sweet pancake either, plus I like that they have a multigrain option. I go to this location the most frequently, but I haven't had a bad experience in any of the Indy area. Definitely check it out if you haven't! read more

There were blueberries in every bite, the pancake was cooked perfectly all the way through, the edges were slightly crispy. It was delicious. Today, after bragging to a friend about the best blueberry pancakes ever, I ordered two blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were thicker, undercooked, and there was about one blueberry in every three bites. They were terrible and we ended up throwing about 80% of them away. So which day was the fluke? Overall I really enjoy first watch. It never seems to disappoint. When my father passed from covid recently, we order food every morning as that was the easiest meal in the mornings to get down. I absolutely love the morning meditation, that's my fave and it looks so pretty and taste yummy!! This morning my mom and I went for a girls brunch and I ordered the Tri breakfast which came with pancakes, eggs and chicken sausage. Probably the most mediocre meal I've had in quite a long time. Our server was fantastic and I hope for their sake the management gives more support to the staff both FOH and BOH. It was not their fault that there were not enough BOH staff scheduled and that the kitchen was weeded. Because kitchen was weeded, food came out thrown on a plate, like seriously a hollandaise massacre. I don't mind a messy plate especially if I've been waiting over an hour after being seated but it was cold and I cannot stress enough...mid. Bloody Marys have no depth of flavor. Did someone just buy mix from the Trader Joe's and not doctor it up at all? This is solid brunch choice with Morning cocktails that are creative and 'healthy'. Lol. They have premium dishes, with some good combinations of classics with updates. Floridian Toast, Chickachanga, skillets etc. I had BLT Benedicts served on a baguette sliced long, and poached eggs were atop arugula, Avacado, Toamato and Bacon (of course). However, when you're doing 10 things at once you might forget to bring sweet warm syrup for waffles. But Etolia was very apologetic. Overall the food was delicious. This is the kind of place you want to have coffee and breakfast with your favorite person or get together with friends and enjoy amazing brunch foods. First things first, you have to get their homemade artisan toast as your side. If you deviate from this, you will be sad. First time going to first watch. I've heard of it a few times and decided to try it out today with my family. Customer Service: Our waitress was very friendly and attentive as we took a bit of time to look over the menu. Answered questions my mother had and was always sure to come by and ask how things are. The Space: It was clean and inviting. Seating wasn't cramped and the table and floors were rid of debris. Food: I had the Trifecta white my little brother had the other basic breakfast. The Belgian waffle was very light and fluffy and the syrup was to die for! Reminded me a little bit of Cracker Barrel's. The chicken sausage was meh, and I only got one patty while at other places you'd probably usually get too. First Watch is def more on the healthier side of things compared to an average breakfast spot. Which isn't bad but also something to know if you want more of a full feeling or a little more meat for the bang for your buck. While I don't think I'd essentially come back for a meal anytime soon I do want to try one of their juices!
