I love Waffle House, but this location was less than stellar because of slow service. There were tables uncleaned and untouched through the duration of our visit. We sat and waited for acknowledgment and service for about 15 minutes. We put in our orders then 15 minutes later the one waffle ordered came out first (totally fine because rather have it warm than wait for the rest of the food), but we still didn't have our drinks delivered. The rest of the food did come out about ten minutes later. Overall okay- hash browns were a bit overdone, biscuits and gravy a little bland, but enjoyable. I hadn't actually eaten a waffle from Waffle House previously, but I expected more, maybe thicker? It tasted good, very much like a pancake with a little grid pattern on top. Overall, they need more efficient staff and service, but the I would still try this location again.

Good God In Heaven! I am still in a food coma nearly 14 hours after my pilgrimage to the mecca of hash brown/waffle heaven. This is one of the closest Waffle Houses to Chicago. It is a mere 182 miles away. Since Lara and i were going to be in La Porte Indiana anyway what was a few extra miles (160 to be exact) to fill our bellies with goodness. Our waitress was awesome. The food was amazing (biscuits and gravy, patty melt, blueberry waffle, double order of "all the way" hash browns, coffee, iced tea (yes we sure can eat)), and a good time was had in our state of food nirvana. On a side note, a Waffle House is sorely needed much closer to Chicago, in case Waffle House corporate is reading today.

The Waffle House is secretly my favorite breakfast place ever. Even though it's not the healthiest option, the food is amazing! The employees are always so friendly and kind, and they definitely make you feel at home. I had a waffle and the Hashbrown Bowl, and both were great. It was cooked right in front of me, and it was hot and delicious! I have a lot of awesome memories from the Waffle House, and I can't wait to make more!

This was a 10/10 experience and I'll break it down: Atmosphere/decor: beautiful. Love the cool tree with the lanterns hung inside, they have a good amount of outdoor seating as well. Cozy booths and regular table, as well as a bar with comfortable stools (where we sat). Cocktails: we both had a skinny spicy margarita with Fulano tequila (per the bartenders recommendation). It was presented beautifully, and crafted well. Would absolutely recommend- great kick from the spice and tequila, not too sweet, just perfect. Chips & salsa- some of the best we've ever had. I could've just drank the salsa by the glass. Guacamole- not to be redundant but again, some of the best we've ever had. Beautiful presentation, comes with two large tortilla chips, but we ended up using the chips from the salsa for the guac. Just outstanding flavor, very fresh. Dinner: he got the chicken fajitas, it was a very generous portion, well season, cooked to perfection, great flavor, freshly made tortillas. I got the Asada tacos, these were outstanding, not greasy, cooked perfectly, salsa. Verde was delicious and the rice was fluffy and soft and flavorful. Highly recommend both dishes. Great portion sizes, I brought one taco home and he brought a large portion of his fajitas home as well. Service: Our bartender, Ever, was phenomenal. Very personable and kind, makes great cocktails, had great recommendations, attentive, personable, overall just did a wonderful job. I'm telling you, don't sleep on this one, more people need to know about this because this restaurant deserves to be packed. The quality, atmosphere, service, and food were all 10 out of 10.

I knocked off a star because I don't prefer sweet in the morning and I don't do meat. I was struggling to find options which were just eggs or something that was premade. I had to go all in and customize my own omelettes and add my own toppings and sometimes that's not what you need on a Saturday where you're trying to customize and make your own recipe. Regardless the food was good. Service was excellent. Definitely a very clean place with a very nice vibe. We enjoyed our branch and the festival holiday season was very evident.

Since I would miss the activities planned for later that week, we both carved out some time to have a small celebration with just the two of us. It was one of those moments that is good for the soul. Every good story needs a great setting. And the context of our story took place at Lincoln Square in Fortville. It was the perfect middle point between our two homes, so it seemed only natural. I had never been to this location. The birthday girl ordered the decadent Banana Bread French Toast. It is topped with fresh banana slices, pecans, caramel sauce and cinnamon whipped butter! I mean, Jesus, take the wheel! I went with a classic Western omelet. You can tell a lot about a place by how they cook the classics. And Lincoln Square did it right. Plus, my omelet came with hash browns and my choice of toast, pancakes, a biscuit or French toast. I felt like it was my final meal before walking the Green Mile! Everything was delicious. We went a little late for most breakfast crowds, so the diner wasn't very busy. Either way, we had great service and the staff were all very kind. I had the feeling that even if they had been busy, you would still be given excellent service with a smile. Like my coffee mug reminded me, every sip counts. I feel like that is a mantra Lincoln Square holds dear. Side note: I am new Yelper, and I am still trying to get a hang of this taking picture of everything deal. How do you guys do it? Do you ask permission first? I took some pictures of the restaurant and the outdoor signage before going inside. Yet, before I could even get to the front door, the manager came outside to meet me and asked if everything was alright. I explained I was working on a Yelp review, and he was very kind. But it got my heart racing. Can someone educate me on the proper Yelp photo etiquette, please?? TIA

The space itself is what appears to be an old schoolhouse, and it's incredibly warm and welcoming inside. There's a great mix of seating on the first floor, including community seating near a fireplace, smaller tables, and larger tables for groups. I noticed there's also an upstairs area that I didn't explore, but even just the main level felt homey and comfortable. It's definitely a spot I'd come back to for getting out of the house to work, bringing a laptop, or even meeting friends for a casual coffee date. The vibe is very cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and kind. The menu is thoughtfully curated, not overwhelming, but still offers a nice variety of syrups and flavors. My only small wish is that there were more loose-leaf tea options beyond black and green tea, but that didn't take away from the experience. Overall, this was a fantastic visit and a café I'd happily return to.

And at least for the holiday season, the interior looks incredibly cozy and inviting. If you have nowhere to go for a few hours, it would be a nice place to hang out and chat with friends. Maybe it was quicker in the drive thru, but then you'd miss out on the decorations. I shared my crispy potatoes with my cousin because they forgot hers (first reason for 4 stars not 5) with the order. My veggie omelette was light and fluffy. I added cheese, which was melted on top instead of being incorporated with the veggies (another reason for 4 stars not 5). The pancakes were good, too...light and fluffy. I definitely recommend this restaurant, just make sure to check your carryout order before leaving to make sure everything you expected was i there.
