Fresh strawberry spinach salad with fries on the side!!

This diner was awesome, so if you're just passing through the area or live in the towns near-by stop in and enjoy the delicious food and friendly, kind service it is worth it.!! With the cheery atmosphere we felt right at home.! I had a fresh spinach salad, and my kind of sweet potato fries not to big they are soggy or to small they're dried out, while my husband had their famous biscuits and gravy with fried potatoes & eggs which then I to had opportunity to enjoy yummy.. Then came the homemade AMAZING dessert's (yes plural) and a good cuppa joe.

A very full veggie omelet!

Stopped in this morning to grab a bite before a jazz band contest. Place was PACKED so first sign of a good place. Open seating so I found a spot. Server was over within 2 minutes I'd sitting down for drink order. I had the "build yourself omelet" I did the all-the-veggies plus a side of hash browns. Food was out in under 10 min. And tasted great. Hash browns nice and crispy. Omelet full of veggies. Their choice of coffee could use a rethink :), tastes like Folgers:( but I can hit the coffee shop down the street for my coffee. I'd recommend this place for a great breakfast and their lunch menu looks good too.

Trust me there is a bun under there some where. Great tenderloin sandwich

UPDATE: I have eaten here several times and each time the meal is consistently awesome. I am from out of state and try to make this my go to place each time I come to town. Keep up the great work

The basics. Hey, Chris G.--I got your coffee cup!

Outstanding!! We stayed overnight in Indianapolis and were looking for a breakfast place on our…read moreroute to Michigan. Yelp gave us several suggestions, and based on the menus we decide to try The Crossings. It's easy to figure out how the place was named, it's a small stand-alone building at the intersection of two state highways (yay - no strip mall!). Entering the place just screams "LOCAL", which can be very good or very bad depending on what the locals want! This place was definitely on the "good" side of local. First, I am a bit of a coffee snob, only from the standpoint of BREW IT STRONG. I really hate weak coffee, no matter how good the bean is. The coffee was a medium roast, very smooth, not bitter at all...and BOLD. Thank you! I ordered a Hoosier Omelette - sausage and cheese smothered in sausage gravy - that came with a side of hash browns and two pancakes. Everything was HOT, prepared well, and tasty - and the portions were huge. Loved how peppery the gravy was, the fact that the potatoes were nice and crisp and NOT greasy, and that the pancakes were nice and fluffy...and came with warm syrup. The service was wonderful - fast and friendly. The servers made the experience even better. The ambience is family owned diner - plenty of space, tables & booths. We had expected a good breakfast and got a great one...and at a very reasonable price. The owners of this place should be very proud!

Most gluten-free options taste like an apology. This one tasted like a birthday…read more Saturday morning, my wife decided to celebrate her birthday a little early. Indiana gave us sunshine you never take for granted and temperatures to match, so we headed to Invited to the Table in Pendleton, a quaint little coffee shop with beautiful decor. Here is what won us over. My wife needs gluten-free, and finding a place that takes that seriously is harder than it should be. They will tell you straight out that they are not a gluten-free kitchen, and then they take the safety measures to care for somebody with celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity better than places that claim to be one. Then there is the team. Riley, Nina, Holly, Bella, and Hannah were so friendly and so accommodating that the food almost had competition. Almost. My wife had a gluten-free waffle that actually tasted delicious, then a pastry a friend bought for us, and she ate until she hit the sugar coma wall, happy as could be. So here is our verdict, and my wife vouched for it herself: if you are anywhere near Pendleton and want great food and great coffee, go. And if gluten-free is your world, Invited to the Table may be just what you have been looking for.

The omelette I ordered tasted very good but when asked if it came with toast I was told no, you have to buy that separately. So for almost $3 I bought toast, which came burnt with cold butter on the side. "Do you have any jam?" No, we don't have jam or jelly. They have gravy in the menu but don't offer biscuits. Really, they need to go to Anita's Diner just around the corner and see how it's done. I will certainly never be back.

Blueberry Lemon Drop was good, but the Watermelon was my favorite. We also tried the caramel apple and it was good too. For dinner I got the pork tenderloin sandwich with onion rings. Both were delicious and the server said all were made in house. What I loved about the onion rings was the super thick and crunchy beer batter. We also got some sort or chicken bowl that was a lot of food. Came with chips. That's not my particular thing but the person who ordered it loved it. They make all their own dressings and believe me when I tell you the spicy ranch is spicy. I loaded my onion ring up with that ranch and I thought I was going to pass out it was so hot. I still ate it just not as much at one of time. They have plenty of seating at the bar or tables inside and a few outside tables by the street where we saw people take advantage of the nice weather and brought their dogs. They have a small stage where they have live performances, I think someone was coming last night we were just there too early. They have pull tabs for those who are gamblers. The place was really clean and staff were friendly yet busy. Parking can be tricky so be prepared to walk some during peak times.
