I Yelped it to see what others said. All reviews were very positive. Immediately, I shut the car off, went in, and ordered a bacon cheeseburger with waffle fries. And, knowing it might bring a smile, ordered a banana shake for my wife who was convalescing at the hospital. Everything was very tasty. The ladies helping were very organized and efficient. One of the fellows at the grill was also very organized and kicking out lots of burgers. There are probably 15 tables to dine in. Most were filled. While I waited, several Door Dash drivers were doing a pickup. Those last two sentences are kinda like the body language telling you whether or not a place is worth a stop. Dictations were simple. If you love french fries, you must try Indy's Hamburger Joint located by Stop 11 and Emerson Ave. Their large french fries were cooked perfectly and lightly seasoned and not salty. No ketchup required. They were the best fries I've ever had from any pub or steak house. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew I'd order my food "to go" due to the greasy spoon smell. Still, I had to sit there for 15 minutes and smell that. Yuck. I hope that they have a ventilation system and I was just there on a bad day. I took off a star rating for that. I was the only customer Jan 2nd 2026 around 2 p.m. Two people came in to pick up orders to go. The place was very clean, including the kitchen, where two Mexican ladies cooked. I've been to Insta Burger joint several times and every time it has hit the burger spot. They have delicious milkshakes, multiple options for different French fries (sweet potato fries, garlic Parmesan fries, tater tots, plus more) and lots of options for burger lover (including turkey burgers, chicken options, and veggie versions). It has something for everyone! I highly recommend getting the milkshake and I've always loved the BBQ burger and my husband usually gets the rise and shine burger. This is my first visit to this establishment. From the outside appearance of the small building I was not expecting a hostess to greet me and seat me inside. I seemed to be one of the first to arrive so service was quick both with drink and food orders. The food did come out quickly as well. I read the menu throughly and decided to go with the BBQ Burger with the bacon, onion, cheddar cheese and onion straws. I love onion straws on a burger! I also added lettuce and tomato. I was surprised how good the burger really was even though I read several reviews beforehand. I also ordered the Tater Tots. They sure did not skimp on giving me a bunch of tots. More than I could eat for sure. They were fried perfectly. One thing missing from the menu was dessert. Even though Ritter's is right next door, I would have preferred ordering dessert here. I'm so confused. Why haven't I been here before? I live close, but something prevented me from crossing through those red, white, and blue decorated doors. I'm glad I took to Yelp to scope out the scene and finally visit! When you arrive, wait to be seated. When you're ready to pay, pay your waitress. The menu has been updated since the latest yelp pics, so I've uploaded all the pages (yellow, narrow booklet). I ordered the bacon cheeseburger since I'm a basic B, and I was thrilled! It was juicy, super filling (I considered taking half home - but no) and upgraded to the garlic parm fries. DO NOT BE FOOLED. The garlic parm fries are thicc bois. Bring your appetite. They are an upcharge, but you could share them easily with someone else. The fries are thick and soft. There were a couple of crispier ends, but overall if you want crispy fries you should probably request hard fried (or just say extra crispy). I visited alone, and at least half the diners were also solo lunch folks. Not an intimidating place at all. I also highly recommend the Mango Ice Tea if you liked sweet tea. I was really excited to try this place after so many positive reviews, but my experience was only okay. My husband & I both got milkshakes, burgers & parm fries. Everything was just okay. The milkshakes were watery and not thick. I got chocolate but it was so light that it looked & tasted like vanilla, but it was confirmed to be chocolate. Nothing creamy or rich about it. The BBQ Burger and Chorioburger were also just so-so. Neither really had flavor or rich tastes that make you want more. I got a terrible stomach ache a few hours later from the food; something I never experience, so that was odd & disappointing. The place was pretty much empty, but there were several people who came in to pick up their orders. The fries were crispy and covered in sauce (you have to upgrade to the Parmesan fries). The burgers were juicy and had lots of flavor. The pretzel bites were lightly fried and the cheese sauce was so good! My husband got tater tots instead of fries and they were light and crispy. This restaurant is open for dine-in and take out. It has an ample sized parking lot and is very clean. The dining area is moderate sized. They only had two people working while I was there, one was taking orders and the other working the grill. Brittany was taking the orders and was doing the best she could. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. Brittany was very apologetic about the wait, which was not very noticeable at all. They have some exotic burgers, sandwiches and sides on their menu. They also have beer. I ordered the jalapeño burger with bacon and a side of garlic fries. I did not have much time so I got it to go. It did not take them long to have my meal ready. I think it was around 5 minutes. There was a ton of food. The burger was huge and the meal was filling. The fries and burger was also delicious. The burger was loaded with flavor, the ingredients were fresh, and the bun was to die for. They exceeded my expectations. I've seen this spot for awhile and decided to drop in after my husband and mom went and enjoyed it. This spot has been numerous places in the past including a diner so it still has that diner feel but it has been updated on the inside and is nicely decorated. I ordered the Blue Burger which includes blue cheese crumbles, onion straws, and Heinz 57 sauce. It was great! I also ordered garlic Parmesan fries as my side option. They have numerous side options including tater tots, salad, onion rings, and sweet potato fries. Everyone at the table enjoyed their sandwiches and sides. The restaurant gets all of their items fresh and local according to the menu and you can tell. I would recommend coming by and giving this spot a chance. My husband has been dying to go to this place but I was a bit skeptical. From the outside it looks fine but I just kept thinking it might be some kind of greasy diner spot. However I was totally wrong and I'm glad he convinced me to try it! The inside space is not super large but they do have plenty of seating in two separate areas which make it feel nice and open. When you walk in a hostess immediately greets you and helps you find a socially distanced spot. I was impressed with their friendliness and the quickness with which they served us despite being somewhat busy. We were waiting for friends and had arrived quite early so decided to order an appetizer. Simply because I like to do things a bit different and go for vegan if possible I ordered the loaded tater tot's but with items from the menu that don't normally come with it. I was impressed and surprised by their willingness to make this special order for me. Plus when it came out it was absolutely delicious! I had them put sun-dried tomatoes and some aïoli on top of the tater tot's and I can highly recommend. The tots themselves were not greasy but cooked to perfection and just the right amount of crunch. Once our friends arrived everyone quickly ordered hamburgers and my husband got a veggie burger. The number of options for toppings for your burger is quite impressive for such a small place. They also have a variety of kinds of fries between waffle fries loaded fries thicker fries etc. so there's plenty of choices. As soon as the burgers arrived the table got quiet because the food was so good that no one wanted to let it get cold! We were impressed with the taste of the burgers the quality of the items and the friendliness of the staff. I love supporting locally owned places and was excited to try Indys Burger Joint. There's a lot of interesting burgers on the menu along with a variety of fry options. I ordered the Pulled Pork Burger with garlic Parmesan fries. My burger was not fresh - definitely a frozen patty, which was extremely disappointing. Fresh made is advertised, but this definitely was not. Honestly, it was closer to a McDonalds patty - flat and definitely processed meat. Maybe they had a day where they had to use frozen, but for $10, I would expect better quality beef. Fries were pretty good - definitely tossed in a sauce of some sort instead of a dusting of garlic and Parmesan like I expected. There was almost too much of the sauce, which made the fries soggy, but it tasted pretty good so that made up for it. Can I recommend this place? I don't know. If the burger had been fresh, yes! I might try again and see if anything has changed, but for now I'm going to say it's a skip for me. read more

I got a bacon cheeseburger since it had not been picked up. Even having sat there for an hour this cheeseburger was absolutely delicious! I'd been wanting to try Indy's Burger Joint, but it seems like I'm never really in this neighborhood unless I have health obligations at the nearby Franciscan Health complex. On those occasions, it seems like I'm usually outside business hours for Indy's Burger Joint. However, I had a mid-afternoon appointment today and took the opportunity to grab a late lunch/early dinner following my appointment. You can probably guess by the name that Indy's Burger Joint specializes in, well, burgers. The menu includes 21 different specialty burgers, though you can also keep it simple with the "Original Burger." You can also switch out your protein or go veggie. The menu also includes a variety of handhelds including both sandwiches and wraps. Indy's Burger Joint also offers appetizers, garden salads, over 10 possible side choices, and your usual fountain drinks. They do also serve beer and they have milkshakes. The prices? They're fancy like Applebee's. Oh, and for the record they do have an Oreo shake. That song is in your mind now, isn't it? You can thank me later. Seriously, though. This is a spot that has been at least a couple other restaurants that I remember. It's on the border of being divey, though it's actually quite clean. It's definitely got some updates, though I think "worn" is a good word to describe the interior. They do have a couple accessible parking spots and a ramp. The interior is basically divided into two sections. There are multiple tables that work well with wheelchairs, though they do also have a section that is mostly high-tops that would not work as well. I was greeted quickly and service with Ashley was strong throughout. She was attentive without being overwhelming. I ordered the Original Burger with tater tots and my usual unsweetened iced tea. Pricing really is in the fast casual range my meal ran about $13 - a touch high in my estimation but not bad. I ordered my burger medium well - I'd say it leaned more toward medium, but it was good. The atmosphere is quite casual. They had a handful of customers when I was in there and Ashley was attentive and friendly throughout. Overall, I enjoyed the visit. I would likely return if in the area, though I wouldn't call this a destination burger joint. It's a comfy, friendly neighborhood joint with slightly elevated but not unreasonable pricing. This was a good meal and friendly service. I always appreciate that after a medical appointment. It was like eating in a diner. The menu had a lot of different sandwiches on it. We had the bbq cheeseburger. It was pretty good , but I would order my burger medium rare next time. Again that disgusting burnt taste! The bun is so wet it's not even edible. It's he carmelized pinapple?! NOT EVEN. all I'm left with is veggies which ARE NOT FRESH and a burger that's THIN and dripping oil/grease . I ordered a regular burger to go since I was heading home from a long day of doctor appointments. Nice proximity to Franciscan Hospital by the way. Kia: Indy's burger joint found on Indy's south side is a spot that pleases everybody. I think the best way to describe it would be a Five Guys PLUS. It is a sit down slow-cook restaurant but the ambience gives more fast food vibes. There are plenty of burgers to choose from and if that doesnt fit your fancy, theres other sandwiches and wings too. The staff and service were just enough! I tend to go the spicy route and got a burger with jalapeños on it. I wasnt overwhelmed with spice or heat the burger hit the spot.
