We just can't get enough of the burgers from this food truck!!! They are always HOT straight from the grill and JUICY! Oh My!! The fries (especially the loaded fries) are a family favorite. If you don't like burgers- they have tenderloins & chicken & fried egg as well. Good value for the money. Especially with all the free toppings you can choose from and the burgers are BIG. The staff is always cheerful & joking and if you are having a bad day they always manage to get a smile out of you 5 stars for being the WHOLE package. Something VERY rare to find these days. I guess I can start off with I liked the fries. They had some sort of salt pepper sugar sprinkles on them. They tasted pretty good dipped in ketchup. But I was less than impressed with the hamburger and to be honest, I just couldn't get past the bun. It was like generic white Kroger brand, on clearance. The hamburger itself was pretty thin, which wouldn't be that big of a deal except for just a cheeseburger and fries with nothing else, was $12.50. The quality didn't match the price. I caught them one evening at the Hunter Crossing Housing Addition. I think this food truck is a cross between 5 Guys and Steak and Shake, which ain't too bad. There was a long line and the two guys working the truck were huffing it. I waited a good 25 minutes to place my order. I ordered two bacon cheese burgers with a side of fries and potato salad. I traveled so far and waited so long, I could not just get one burger. They have pretty much every possible topping for your burger including, peanut butter, jalapeños, hot sauce, and honey. Most of the toppings are free, but there are a few that cost an extra buck like bacon, and pineapple. I must admit that the food was delicious. I wish I did not have a 30 minute+ drive before I could dig in. The made to order burger was very flavorful and the fries had an awesome seasoning on them. From some of the conversation i overheard while I was in line, this food truck as a following. You can go to their website or FB page and see where the will be next. Food truck Fri-YAY! I ordered the Jr. Cheeseburger and fries. The Good: Incredibly friendly staff, quick service, made to order with every topping you could ever want/dream of. Everything came out hot and I even got a cookie on the side! That's a nice surprise for a Friday lunch. The Okay: Fries are sold separately and cost almost as much as a burger. They're well seasoned with salt and pepper, but there's some other ingredient on them that I can't pinpoint? Maybe sugar? They're kind of sweet which threw me off a bit and to me seems unusual when they're not sweet potato fries. I love that the burger is made fresh, from real 100% angus beef, but it definitely needed some more flavor/seasoning. It was good, but not as good as I was expecting it to be. The Bad: The bun!!! Oh my goodness. I couldn't even finish the entire burger (very unusual for me) because of the bun. It fell apart with the first bite and every bite after until I just gave up. It was crumbly. It's almost like it was a generic, store brand bun. So strange and I wish this wasn't the case - I so badly wanted to enjoy it! They came to my apartment complex. I figured I'd give them a try since Indiana lacks great restaurants. Everything was delicious and fresh. I loved the versatile of being able to add pineapple on my 1/3 lb hamburger. The fries were fresh and well seasoned. They tasted semi sweet. The negative was that they informed me they were out of ketchup because their supplier was out. As a business owner, when you're out of a main staple that goes with a main side, go get some ketchup! It's food truck Monday at the office again! Always a good day! Since it allows me to try different trucks that I usually don't come across. Today's truck was box-burger, and I was impressed! They have a good size trailer that they pull and it looks very clean and well maintained. Staff was really friendly! And even cracked some jokes! I love that. The menu has all the classic choices. Burgers, chix sandwich, tenderloin and an egg sandwich. Something cool I noticed is that the burgers are made according to size, so you can get a big one! Or the junior size which is more my speed. All your toppings are free which is awesome, can the list is huge to pick from. Thought my burger was cooked to perfection and not too greasy! Sides are extra. You can pick from fries, sweet potato fries, chips, slaw or potato salad. I would definitely get another burger from this truck! Half tempted to go out and get another before they leave. read more

This truck was set up outside of an event in Military Park for Indy Pride week. I had never heard of them and they were the only one with a vegetarian option, so I decided to give it a shot. For the amount you pay, you really don't get your money's worth, in my opinion. The veggie burger was a normal veggie burger. It was cooked okay, but the toppings were something you'd get from a roadside stand (i.e. cheap shredded lettuce, discolored tomatoes, no cheese). It was very underwhelming to say the least. I wanted to try some of the fries, but they were so expensive! A friend ordered the sweet potato fries for $5 (what!) and what came out was nothing more than the size of a small fries from McDonald's. Again, way too expensive. The fries were good, but nothing that I'm drooling about now. The part that really rubbed me the wrong way was when I was getting my food handed to me, the guy/employer/chef said that he's never tried it before so he has no idea what it tastes like and hopefully it tastes good. A friend asked why he's never tried it and he said that he doesn't like beans. Fair, but never admit to someone that just purchased your food that you've never tried it and "hope that it's good." Such poor customer service in my opinion. Overall, a food truck that needs to readjust its prices and learn from some other competitors that are doing burgers and fries much better (for cheaper or if the same price, better quality products). Box Burger Truck was a newbie at today's Statehouse Market, a weekly farmer's market meets food truck extravaganza that takes place during the lunch hour at the Indiana Government Center complex in downtown Indy. Based out of Greenwood, Box Burger is, you guessed it, a food truck with a strong focus on burgers featuring fresh, never frozen, black angus beef while offering many of the more alternative options you might find in burger joints. The beef has no additives and they also carry seasoned fries that are hand-cut from temperature controlled Idaho potatoes and they are fried in peanut oil. Both burgers and fries are seasoned with an in-house made seasoning blend that adds a light but flavorful touch. The burgers come with a variety of topping options or you can essentially build your own with a list of toppings they had on their electronic menu that sat on the ordering window of their truck. You can also easily order a plain burger - their basic burger is actually a two-patty concoction, though you can actually order it halved. You should note that both options are $6.50 - so, unless you're being really faithful to your diet the economics will likely dictate you just order the regular option. They also offer cheeseburger options and I know I saw a breaded tenderloin on the menu. As noted they offer sides including potato chips ($2), fries ($4), cole slaw ($2 I believe) and a couple other options. As I needed to have a quick lunch, I stuck with the rather basic burger plain - two patties on a fairly traditional bun that was nicely grilled up. While the world of gourmet burgers has made even the bun rather important these days, I was only slightly disappointed at the rather ordinary bun option here because it was prepared quite well. I think the obvious comparisons for their burgers would be along the lines of a Culver's or a Steak n' Shake, with a thinner patty and crispy edges. However, I'd say Steak n' Shake has dropped in quality since they began stressing value meals and this is a better burger than Culver's. If I had to make a comparison, I'd go with the Elevation Burger as they have similar values in terms of their beef being more natural than the usual frozen crap. I did not order a side item or a drink on this visit, though would likely try the fries in the future. I will admit that the $4 price tag seemed a tad much.Burger prices start around $6.50 - which I found to be reasonable, especially for a food truck, but the prices do go up. They also do have a variety of drinks - primarily soft drinks/water. The employee I met was perfectly friendly and helpful. You order at one window, they give you a number and they call numbers at the other window. If I have one beef, sorry I had to make one beef pun, it's that the line went rather slowly for people on a lunch hour or, in my case, a half hour. Part of the problem was that the digital screen with products/prices was rather small and you either had to get close to it or wait until you were within 1 person to actually read it. It felt like that led to a delay, not a huge one, but I heard more than one person mention it. The food delivery, on the other hand, was in rock star timing. They do take credit cards utilizing Square, another process that tends to slow down line movement. So, for now, I'll stick with a 4-star rating. I was quite happy with my burger and would definitely order it again. I appreciated their friendliness and thought they were a welcome addition to the Statehouse Market scene. I'm definitely anxious to try their tenderloin, as well. If you see them at an event, I'd definitely give them a try. read more

I don't go out of my way to post reviews but I have to tell everyone how delicious Box Burger is! Their food truck was in my neighborhood and they had an endless line from opening until nightfall and nobody left disappointed! Burgers met the hype and well worth the wait! They were the super juicy but thin crispy edged smash type patties. I got the PB chili burger, so freaking good! I fell in love with jalapeños and pb on burgers a few years ago and this burger was better than the one I fell in love with. My husband got the jalapeño popper burger, said he will definitely order again. They're also very liberal with toppings I should add. Cheese was gooey melted all over. Topping and sauce ratios were perfect. Fries were hot, salty and crisp and loaded fries were well worth the extra charge. You can easily split a basket of fries with 2-3 people btw. Lastly the staff was so kind and gracious and worked so hard. I waited about an hour total from getting in line to getting my food but I also counted around 35-40 people in front of me when I arrived so believe me, they are working hard in that truck and working as fast as they can. Anywho, we loved this place! My kids loved it too, stole my fries after inhaling their own lol. The burgers were good, but a little pricey. They taste a bit like Culver's, with really crispy thin edges on the patties but still plenty juicy. Plenty of free toppings were available (including peanut butter and a variety of sauces), and it definitely tastes fresh. I wish I had skipped the coleslaw though. I'm not sure if it was just too much vinegar, a sweetener, or some other off-flavor, but it tasted as if it had spoiled. I couldn't finish the cup, which was a fairly generous 5-oz portion. The sweet potato fries are probably the better pick. I saw various sized burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and tenderloins on the menu (which is digital, with small text, making it very hard to read in direct sunlight). We stopped here to eat while at the Greenwood Freedom Festival 2016. We chose them because they had the shortest line. The menu they offered was small, burgers and hot dogs, some sides like chips, Cole slaw, fries, etc. On the burgers they offer premium toppings like egg, and bacon for $1 each. Your basic toppings are free. I went with the hot dog with Cole slow. My partner went with the cheese burger and fries. The food came fast as they clearly know what they're doing. For a hot dog it was good. It was an Angus beef dog and really hit the spot. The Cole slaw was good...not the best ever...but it was good. From what I hear the burger and fries were really good too. The fries were seasoned and the burger was seasoned and cooked well. The hot dog was good enough that I went back for a second. Chicken Sandwich - $7.50 Was a usual chicken breast patty you can buy at the store on store bought buns. I know in previous reviews they have stated that their specialty are burgers and they only offer other things for people who don't want a burger, but anything you sell should be up to the same standards as "your specialty." This chicken sandwich wasn't as good as a fast food place, and priced nearly twice as much. It was also nearly cold when I got it, so I think the fries took longer to cook and it was left out. Fries - $4.00 - I thought I read they were fresh cut in a previous review reply, but it didn't look or taste like it to me. The ones at Penn Station are much better and fresh cut. They were just normal average fries, not even crinkle cut. If using prepackaged/frozen at least go with crinkled. :-) The fries taste like the grease was getting old, but were hot and there were plenty of them, but not worth nearly the $4.00. Cole slaw $3.00 - seemed like the kind you can get pre-packaged near the deli at Kroger. Like, exactly like it (I enjoy slaw and when in a pinch I do get this kind). Our neighborhood has an event with Box Burger scheduled for today at 5pm. All along it has been advertised & we were told we could pre order the day of our event. Many neighbors have been trying all day with no luck. We have tried contacting them all day (no phone number) via email & fb posting to their page. One hour before our event we find out their pre order site is under construction. Not only is it cold outside, but we have well over 50 neighbors planning to attend. we are not standing in line outside in the cold for hours. It's not that good. This might be the BEST burger I've ever had. I got the Angus cheeseburger with the maple bacon glaze and fried onions. The burger was so tender; it basically melts in your mouth. The bread was soft and slightly sweet. The fries were pretty good too. Soft like I like them. I wish the cost of the sides was a little less or came as a meal instead of charging separately. Maybe some different packaging like a covered container as I had to put paper towels over it to ride the elevator back to my floor.
