I found Pierogi Love on Facebook. And then saw an event close to me. The food truck parked in the office lot. They placed a sign at the complex entrance. Off we go to try them! They opened at 5pm. When we arrived at 5:10 there were 3 people in line. Orders were quick..limited menu (see photo). Cash or card. Our order was ready in less than 5 minutes. Got home and dug in! The pierogis are yummy, if a little heavy. The saurkraut with the Farmhouse was a little off. The sausage was great though. All in all, authentic pierogi for a little more $$ than I like to spend. 1. These are Mrs. T's pierogi (or something else sold in the freezer section). I knew it at the first bite. Save your money and fry up some Mrs. T's in butter and onions. 2. The portion sizes were so tiny. The $9 kids' meal was portioned for an 18-month to 2-year-old. It wasn't enough for my small 4-year-old. To give perspective, most of the time my three kids can split one kids' meal and be satisfied. This plate would have only been enough for our youngest, and typically we would also offer her a fruit or veggie, so not really enough for her either. I finally tried Pierogi Love at Gen Con on Friday (08/01/2025), and... unfortunately, I was not impressed. FOOD (& PRICING): I opted for the Loaded Pierogi dish, which described the inclusion of five (5) pierogis - hand-stuffed potato & bacon pierogis with applewood smoked bacon, sour cream, and chives. The pierogis were deep fried. The dish was listed for $14. I know event prices are generally steep for any food services and/or vendors, so the price matched what I anticipated spending on food. Plus, the menu did state five (5) pierogis would be in the dish. Honestly, from the moment I looked at my order, I could tell the pierogis were cooked (fried) too long. The pierogis weren't good. I would describe them as instant cheese-flavored mashed potatoes encapsulated in a hard, deep-fried shell. The toppings were thrown on haphazardly. The bacon was a bit hard & didn't give off fresh mouthfeel. The green onions (chives) were chopped carelessly - There wasn't consistency between the size of the chopped pieces. Bottom line - The dish didn't seem hot or fresh. The pierogis were overcooked & hard. SERVICE: As far as service goes, I believe that went well. Regarding service, that went well. I had a spinal procedure the day before attending Gen Con & was in a wheelchair for the day, so the other member of my party assisted me in the ordering & pickup process. I was ten (10) feet away from the food truck at most, so I could hear & see the employees. There were no issues with service. I have never had a pierogi before. I'm not sure why I was afraid to try them before, something about the combination of dough stuffed with potato did not sound good to me. But I'm trying to support local businesses and I was already at Takeout Tuesday in the Wildcat Run neighborhood for some dessert so I thought, why not? I went with the traditional since this was my first Pierogi experience. It was cheddar and potato stuffed dough with sour cream and chives on the side. I thought it was delicious. The sour cream and chives balance out the richness of the pierogi. I would definitely order again. They were very friendly and I got my order quickly. read more

This food truck was outside the Government center today. I absolutely love pierogis and was super excited. I ordered the Loaded Lender which is 5 pierogi with bacon, cheese, sour cream and chives on top. It was enough to fill me up. They did not skimp on the toppings. Each pierogi was well covered and there were toppings to spare. The service was so fast. The fast service is great on a short lunch time. I would try some of there other flavors in the future, but price wise not something I can do very often. read more

We had this food truck come to our neighborhood, and I am pretty disappointed after waiting weeks to try it. I'm from Buffalo, New York, and great up eating homemade pierogis. I figured, since this food truck's specialty is pierogis, they'd have homemade ones, especially for $10 for four pierogis. I was pretty shocked when I saw the guy pouring frozen pierogis out of a bag into the deep fryer. I could've stayed home and made the Mrs. T's pierogis I have in my freezer and saved the $20 I spent for the two "meals" I bought. First of all, I need to say where I am coming from. There were 4 generations of pierogi makers alive in my family when I learned how to make my first batch. I'm sure the recipe was handed down by many generations before that. With that introduction, let me say that I have NEVER had a BAKED pierogi until today. Baking dries out the dough. Would you eat a baked ravioli? Of course not. The proper way to cook pierogis is to boil them until they float on the surface and then fry them in a pan with onion and butter. Period. I think the potato and cheese pierogi that were served today had an agreeable center. That's a matter of individual taste and I think these were more than acceptable in that regard. But, please, if you sell pierogi for a living and charge $2.00 to $2.50 each, please use the boil/fry method. read more

I ate at this truck around 3 years ago. I had hoped since they were still in business that they had improved because what I had 3 years ago wasn't edible. Well, not sure how they could have made it worse, but they did. I almost couldn't even bite into them because they were so tough, they were bland, no onions to speak of and a little dollop of sour cream. $10, which I was thinking was outrageous, but it doesn't stop there. There was no soda of any kind, only water, which I didn't want with my lunch. So, I was already a little irritated about the lack of soda when the guy says $11.18. WTF? I very rarely rate a business as only one star. However after a very negative experience with them I can not give them a better score. They had their food truck out to handle the gen con convention for a few day, this was not their first year participating so they should have been aware of the high numbers of people they would be feeding. I had heard great things about them so I didn't mind that I had to wait 15 minutes in line just to order. When I went up to the window to order I was informed that sautéed pierogies we're running about 20 minutes behind. Again, I willingly agreed to this since I didn't want deep fried ones and pierogies are something my cancer tummy handles very well. After I ordered the cashier asked for $10, I handed her my credit card and she charged the order never telling me a new total or having me sign on the purchase (which struck me as odd since most trucks use that as an opportunity to get a tip added on to the purchase). I received my food at 20 minutes as expected and the person handing the food out to me was friendly and polite. The food was very satisfactory, a few were harder than I expected and there wasn't much onion, but overall I enjoyed it and saw no reason to complain about the food. The very negative experienced followed after my meal. When I checked my email that evening I looked at my receipt and was a little surprised to see an $11 charge when the total had been $10. I checked their itemization and found I'd been charged $1 for using the card. I wouldn't have objected if they had told me at the time of the charge, it was just a bit disconcerting to find it unexpectedly. I responded to them through square feedback letting them know that I had been surprised by this charge and not informed of it, so it felt a little dishonest. A few days later I received a very rude and inappropriate response from them, it clearly had made them so angry that 45 minutes later they felt a need to even send me a second response! I will let the screen shots from my email (and the picture I took of the menu board) tell the rest of the story. I've eaten at this truck twice - the first time was pretty good, the second time was meh (overcooked maybe, very hard - like rock hard), but both times were a bit pricey for the amount of food in my opinion. I think this truck knows what they are doing, but it can be hit or miss. I will try them again and would say it is best suited for a cold day. read more

Every single person that ordered was forced to wait - at length- for the food. There were other food truck, also serving a lot of people, so I'm not sure why Pierogi Love was unable to prepare and serve in a timely manner.
