This Ihop is always freezing cold, the food is ok but the dishes are always dirty. I live in Gainesville, but I have to leave town to find a decent Ihop.

If I could give negative stars I would. This was the worst ihop I've ever been to honestly, primarily due to food quality and price. We didn't even finish our food it was just.....not like ihop used to be. Food was barely warm when it got served so a few bites in we didn't even want to finish. Bill was around $85 for one adult and four kids who couldn't even finish their food.

Horrible experience! We were seated in Angela's section. She was very rude and dismissive. When we arrived to the restaurant it was pretty empty. But she took our order and disappeared for a long time. We observed our food sitting in the window for some time. When she finally reappeared and brought our door out EVERYTHING was cold as well as over cooked. I waited to let our server Angela know but she did not return. As I looked over to the kitchen I saw a gentleman helping with orders and assumed he was a manager, but he let me know there was no manager on duty. I then asked who I could speak to about getting our food reordered. While I was talking to another gentleman, Angela walked up asking what I needed. I let her know our food was cold and we could not find her. She instantly got nasty. Saying we weren't looking for her then started speaking Spanish to an older lady who helped us. Saying we didn't look for her but the lady let her know she actually looked for her. The gentleman told us not to worry and resubmitted our entire parties order. I returned to my table. As we waited u saw our order in the window and because u Yelp I began to snap a picture as I snapped my picture I saw Angela or server look at the window and continue walking we waited a few more minutes. We then left. What a total disaster and how do you find it ok to treat patrons like crap then argue with them. The restaurant seemed clean but the service was trash! Bathrooms were also clean.

Clean store. The burgers and chicken tenders were great. The service was meh. Very slow and they forgot our drinks. But the place was fairly busy because it was midnight after a concert and was one of the only places open.

Better than the average IHOP for service, although I will say the service varies more than it should. If you can, request to sit in the back left area of the restaurant, especially on a weekday. This is where they usually put larger groups and parties, so it's a bit noisier but the service is faster and friendlier. We were seated back there for my sons birthday recently and the waitress went out of her way to make sure to keep his all-you-can-eat pancakes coming. The entire waitstaff also came out to sing a special birthday song and present him with an ice cream sundae (which he also polished off). It really made for a special special start to his day. We returned a few days later, were seated in the front area and received indifferent service, wrong order, food served barely warm (sent back and they made it over) having to ask for everything (including water and pancake refills). The quality of the food is still solid, and the price is right, but I do wish they could provide consistently good service. Yet another visit (on the free short stacks of pancakes day) and we were again at the back and received excellent service. Lesson learned! We will ask to be seated in the rear area whenever possible. Overall, this is still one of the better IHOP locations I've been to. If you're looking to feed your family a good hearty breakfast you can't go wrong with IHOP and their bottomless pancakes.

Omg so many thoughts on this experience…read more I'm so glad i didn't immediately know it was a restaurant located in a hotel. This prob would have deterred me, even a little bit. The Apple map directions here confused me a little due to this, but parking was really plentiful so that's a huge plus! I went on a Sunday morning and lo and behold there was a hole farmers market or pop up set up all through haymarket! Busy weekend for a brunch but haymarket is SUCH a cute little vibe and town with so many hidden gems, like this one!! Literally every single item I saw waiters bring out from the kitchen looked so scrumptious, every person around us immediately began digging in and enjoying their meals...and honestly, no crumbs were left behind pretty much every time. We started ordering a yummy cocktail. I was really in the mood for the Paloma with grapefruit juice but sadly they were out of grapefruit juice fortunately, they had plenty cocktails available that were not explicitly on the menu! I ended up having a delicious espresso martini, prepared, right and honestly, I would have had another!! Not too sweet. Not creamy. And with 3 beans. Impeccable no notes. I ordered the red House breakfast. Man those home potatoes were so delicious....they clearly cooked them seasoned deliciously and then flash fried, so crunchy!!!! Amazing. I found that their execution on their meals was really impressive. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so yummy with the toast. The bacon had delicious flavor too. I ordered a biscuit because I had heard that their biscuits were really yummy but unfortunately they did not have their bacon biscuit so it was just a classic biscuit. It was good, certainly dense and clearly homemade. My girlfriend got the poutine. Looked so delicious and was really enjoyed! The gravy was thick and flavorful! We sat down and enjoyed plenty of conversation and a really nice environment. Nobody rushed us, service was just the right amount of attentive without interrupting conversation constantly, and the floor to ceiling windows let in beautiful natural light and views of the town. It was the perfect brunch spot for a low-key, but delicious meal. Just a hair out of the way without being too far. I came out with a really good friend of mine to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with her and it was the perfect possible location. Shout out to the staff for being so welcoming and kind, and even taking a picture of us when we asked to commemorate the occasion. I'm sure they are used to people walking in to the hotel lobby looking as confused as I was looking for red House Tavern.

The food was average at best when it came out. Super disappointed. We came here for my mom's 5 year beating cancer anniversary and it wasn't much of a celebration.

You can always tell when a restaurant has strong chemistry among its staff -- and that comes from being managed by people who truly care. The place is spotless, and the food is always five-star -- tasty, hot, beautifully presented, featuring amazing seasonal specials, and consistently appetizing. The reason for this second review is to give a special shout-out to Cali from Nokesville (not California -- inside joke!). Nothing against today's younger generation, but it's rare to find someone with such natural ease in conversation. Cali is an old soul with a wonderful personality, genuine warmth, and incredible knowledge of the menu. She's the kind of server who doesn't just take your order -- she connects with you. Early in our meal, I asked about something that's normally only offered for to-go orders. Cali said she'd check into it, and I didn't think much of it. Well, an hour and a half later, after we'd finished dining and checked out, she came back -- having remembered my request -- and made it happen. That level of attention and follow-through is rare these days. Firebirds Gainesville continues to impress us in every way, and with staff members like Cali, it's easy to see why. Stereotypical decor and menu, Grains and Grog stood painfully empty on a Saturday afternoon playing music nostalgic to anyone who graduated high school before 2010. I ordered a Manhattan. Hallway through, looking down at the bottom of the glass, I saw two tiny flies floating at the bottom. As disgusted as one can reasonably be, I asked for another one to be made (why I bothered, I can't say. Maybe it was because I had already drank half). I found another small fly in the second before the server left the table. Another fly in the third as well. We didn't finish our meals for obvious reasons. They brought us the check, discounted the manhattans and 50% the check, though I didn't feel I should have paid anything. After paying the check, they said it was a mistake.
