Overall, it was a very good experience! The food was pretty good. I haven't been here that often to give feedback on most of the menu. I had the country fried steak with a side of scrambled eggs and warm cinnamon apples. The biscuits were soft, warm and delicious! The coffee was a nice medium roast. Everything tasted good but could have been more warm. The service was outstanding. The place looked clean, except some of the menus could have been wiped more clean . You can see sauce smeared on one of the menu photos. When you are ready, you pay at the cash registers inside the gift shop, which was a little confusing. The gift shop is full of cool items! Clothing, specialty foods, take-home pies, health and beauty items, and many cool gifts. It's a great place to find a unique gift. There are lots of handicap accessible parking spots in front. No stairs. No automatic doors. Benches in front outside. Family friendly.

Great food, excellent service, and very good with a large group This Cracker Barrel is located in Manassas, Virginia and was a very nice place for our large group to have a meal. As with most Cracker Barrel restaurants, there is plenty of parking around the stand-alone building and the parking lot was clean and well maintained. The restaurant has the familiar older-style Cracker Barrel appearance with the rocking chairs along the front porch. When you first walk inside, there is the usual country store with a variety of gifts, candy, clothing, toys and other items for sale. You check in with the hostess near the front of the restaurant before being seated. Cracker Barrel started in Tennessee in 1969 and has grown to nearly 660 restaurants in 44 states. The menu has the traditional country-style food that the chain is known for including all-day breakfast, pancakes, biscuits, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, country fried steak, chicken, salads, sandwiches, burgers and a variety of sides. We had a fairly large party but were seated quickly at a large table near the center of the restaurant. They actually assigned us a waiter and a waitress, with each taking care of a different side of the table. I thought that was a very good way to handle a large group and both were professional, friendly and very efficient throughout our meal. I ordered a hamburger and French fries. The food came out quickly and both the hamburger and fries were delicious. The restaurant was fairly busy while we were there, but it was clean and the staff did a very good job keeping everything moving. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with good food, quick and efficient service and friendly staff. They did an especially good job handling our large group and I would definitely recommend this Cracker Barrel to my fellow travelers. Enjoy!

I feel like Cracker Barrel's can be hit or miss, but this location was a hit when we were in town for a wedding. We went for lunch, and again for breakfast. Pretty consistent service which was pretty quick and attentive. For lunch, I tried there chicken tenders which were actually low key fire. For breakfast, went with the classic in Grandma's Breakfast Sampler.

Cracker Barrel is a Southern-themed chain located on Battleview Parkway in Manassas that evokes nostalgia for old-time country stores. After passing through the restaurant's storefront, we entered the dining area, which features a spacious interior decorated with vintage items and a large fireplace. The food was excellent, with a homemade feel, served warm, and reasonably priced. Breakfast highlights included strawberry-stuffed cheesecake pancakes, hot fried chicken, and old-fashioned lemonade. Special thanks to our server Bettina for her friendly attitude and attentive service!

The bill for 3 biscuits, 2 sausage patties, a bowl of gravy, a coke, and 2 scrambled eggs with cheese.

All I have to say is "Yikes." Could have been much much better. The food here has really taken a dive from what it used to be. The menu feels like it's been chopped in half, and the options are skimpy. I will say that I'm glad they didn't mess with the decor at this location. The rocking chairs were still out front, the good classic decorations were still on the walls, the gift shop was in good order, and the fire in my seating section was raging and felt great on the back... The service at the table was good. They frequently checked on me. I was having a hard time deciding what to get simply because the menu was so barren of good options... I was in the mood for a good classic old fashioned biscuits and gravy, this day... There were only 2 other occupied tables in the entire section I was sat in, and right after sitting down and taking a glace at the menu I heard the table across from me asking the waitress if she could have her sausages re-heated, as they were served to them cold... Again, yikes!!! Huuuuge red flag when a classic American style restaurant can't even serve hot fresh meats that go out with every breakfast. I finally decided on getting the "Sunrise Special, Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage or Bacon", for $7.79, on the very back page of the menu. Not sure if this was the wisest decision, but it sounded good at the time! Where I come from in Virginia "Biscuits and gravy with sausage" means crumbled up biscuits, bite-size chunks of sausages mixed in, and absolutely covered in a sausage gravy! I guess the cooks and managers at Cracker Barrel, a southern company mind you, have never heard of such an abomination, because what i got was literally a plate of 2 sausage patties, 3 biscuits, a side of butter and jam packets, and a bowl of sausage gravy. I also got a side of 2 eggs scrambled with cheese, which was probably the saving grace of the meal. Let's start with the eggs, since they were clearly my highlight of the meal... The eggs tasted fresh and delightful, and were nice and hot. The flavor was perfect. No extra salt or pepper on them - and none extra was needed. You can always tell when you get fresh cracked eggs from a real egg, versus a pre-mix blend of eggs or, god-forbid, the ready-mixed eggbeaters style of carton-poured liquid egg. These were nice and fresh real eggs, with great fresh flavor. Add in some cheese and it's a match made in heaven for egg lovers. Now on to the more disappointing part -- I say this with a bit of jest, because while the meal wasn't bad, it certainly wasn't amazing or great. It was simply alright. The food could have been better. The gravy was decent - it was a good sausage gravy, but you can tell it was a bit lacking on salt and a meaty flavor that you expect from a good white gravy. I expect that they did this to cater to the old folks crowd who are always watching their salt intake, so they don't have another heart attack, and left out the sausage from the cooking of the gravy so they can appease the vegans and skittle-hair color crowd of liberal protestors that CB is pandering to these days... None-the-less, a sub-par flavor, because it wasn't cooked in the good old fashioned ways! Then, the sausage patties. They had less of a savory good meaty taste and more of something that was chemically manufactured with way too much liquid smoke flavoring... Don't get me wrong, I love a good sausage patty, and cheap ones can be good, but these take that liberty to a whole new level. These are extra cheap. The outer skin is quite tough, and like I said, the liquid smoke in them just vilifies the cheap quality as that's all you'll taste, rather than a good meat product made with care. The biscuits were good... A nice fluffy dough brick which crumbled slightly and split in half well... Easy to spread butter and jam on. A nice biscuit. But, apparently in Cracker Barrel's new-age mind, "Biscuits and Gravy" means putting everything separate and making you do it yourself, so they can pander to a wider crowd. Initially the waitress brought me the wrong check - which was quite amusing... It pays to pay attention, literally! I noticed before I had paid for someone else's meal, and brought it to her attention - and the right check was dropped off to me... Thankfully the bill was just under a $20 bill, which I readily had in my wallet, so I left that on the table and got outta there! I don't think I'll be back any time soon, if this is the direction that they're taking the company, and more importantly, the food...

Cracker Barrel is close to the hotel. I had been driving all day but I should've known better. I stopped. I got the hamburger steak with three sides the menu said it comes with grilled onions and gravy. I got a burger patty cooked to the point that it's like a hockey disc, no gravy no onions and the coleslaw taste rancid now the to go waitress said do you want to see the food and I said I'm gonna trust you, but I should've known better. It's garbage.

We saw the ad on tv for chicken fried turkey and 'tis the season, we decided to drive 30 minutes to Manassas for this new item. Ahhhh, parking the car, we see the lit up Cracker Barrel store with Christmas decorations. Walking in, Christmas and Thanksgiving items dominate the store. Since we arrive before prime dinner time, we were able to get a table for 2 easily. Because of a shift change, it took a while for our server to take our drink and food order. After 10-15 minutes we got our food. I ordered the country fried turkey with green beans and turnip greens. My food was warm but not hot. The ad mentioned the turkey was fried to a crisp perfection and juicy. Mine was dry and crunchy. And not hot. If you see the pictures, the gravy congealed. There was flavor from the crust of the fried turkey but the turkey was thin & dry. Did I mention dry? The green beans and greens were better tasting as they were juicy unlike the dry turkey. My son got his food piping hot. Chicken tenders juicy and crispy. The sides hashbrown cass and mac n cheese were warm as well. The steak was hot and cooked medium rare. Good garlic salt flavor but the steak was tough and not tender. It was beefy and juicy though. Service was good. I got a refill before asking for one as my iced tea was diminishing. Sign of good service is the little things like this. Overall, food was avg but service was above avg. Country music could be cranked up a bit over the speakers. Still love walking through the store and find cool stuff. Halloween items 70% off!!!!!

Stopped fot breakfast here with the family. First time I have been to one without a wait. We sat right down, ordered and food. Food was a little slow to come out considering it was fairly empty, but came out good tasting good. Some of the things were salty and one of the plates was cold. Overall what you would expect at a cracker barrel.

Ask the Community - Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I know some places don't list chocolate pancake on the menu but upon request, they would do it. Does this place have something like that?

I'm pretty sure they have chocolate chip pancakes, or you could ask for a side of chocolate fudge syrup (which they use on their ice cream sundaes). I love Cracker Barrel and they are always eager to accommodate request, that may not be on the menu.…

This was our final visit to The Omelette Cafe…read more The food itself was fine, but unfortunately everything else about the experience was bad enough that I will never return. I also do not want a response from the owner or management. I genuinely wish this small local business well, but I can no longer justify giving it another chance. During our previous visits, we already felt the value compared to the pricing was becoming questionable, but we wanted the restaurant to succeed. Today sealed the deal. When we arrived, only about 4 or 5 of the roughly 12 tables were occupied, with two waiters working the dining room. Most of the empty tables were dirty, many still covered with dishes from previous customers. The floor throughout the dining room was dirty and covered with debris. One waiter asked how many were in our party and directed us to a table. He sprayed and wiped only half the table with Windex. The other half, where the condiments were sitting, remained dirty. A few minutes after sitting down, I unfortunately put my finger directly into old sticky syrup that had clearly not been cleaned. The waiter took our order fairly quickly, but then poured cream directly into our coffees instead of letting us add it ourselves. Mine ended up with far too much cream. While waiting to use the restroom, I had a clear view into the kitchen area and noticed the kitchen floor appeared just as dirty as the dining room floor. What stood out most was that neither waiter seemed aware of or concerned about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. There was no sense of urgency or attention to the condition of the dining room. After waiting several minutes for the men's restroom, one waiter told me to go ahead and use the women's restroom instead. The restroom itself seemed reasonably clean, but the paper towel dispenser was broken, and a loose roll of paper towels was sitting on top of the toilet, damp from previous use. When we were ready to leave, one waiter asked how the service was. At that point, I simply wanted to leave as quickly as possible, so I said it was fine. He then left the payment machine at the table for me to run my own card, and even the machine itself was damp and unclean. Overall, the entire restaurant felt sticky, dirty, and poorly maintained. The tables were not being properly cleaned, the floors were sticky throughout the restaurant, and the overall lack of cleanliness completely overshadowed the meal itself. I truly wish this business success, but after three visits, I will not be returning.

Second, the execution of some signature fried dishes lacked consistency; the famous Signature Fried Chicken could sometimes taste dry and tough, while the macaroni and other snacks failed to leave a particularly memorable impression. We all agree on 2 thumbs up across the board for decor and ambiance. It was giving industrial-NYC-Soho vibes. Quite impressive for Main Street Manassas. Timing was everything ... we were too early for the dinner crowd and just missed the lunch rush so the parking Gods were on our side ... we snagged a spot right in front of the restaurant. Stephen was a gracious server / bartender to our wee little party of 3. The beers were cold and the Cadillac Margarita was decent. The Rueben and bbq wings were raved about (especially the bbq sauce ... it was legendary)! Unfortunately, the salmon bites and the pork belly deviled egg appetizers were soooo salty and just not edible. Also $15 was diabolical for the portion size of the salmon bites. (Pic attached) I've paid that for a full bourbon glazed salmon meal with rice and veggies. Not a deal breaker. Would most def return to try other app / entree / summer cocktail options. Looking forward to hearing YOUR opinion. When you go, tell them you saw it on yelp.
