We have eaten breakfast at this IHOP several times in the last 2 months and the food has been awesome and the service is great. Have had several different waiters and all of them have been amazing. The food is out before we even get the coffee poured in our cups. We have tried several different breakfast places in Fairfax and this by far is the best. Did not like my experience here. I guess the fault for that is at least partly my own, as I was expecting decent food, and that was maybe expecting too much. IHOP is perhaps meant only for people who can't tell good food from bad or people who are too drunk to care either way. But as a sober person looking for good breakfast food, I was disappointed. The food was barely warm. The pancakes were flat and far from fuffy. The hashbrowns were underseasoned and tasted like reused oil. I have a bad taste in my mouth just thinking about it. The first time I've ever had IHOP was in VA lol. For some reason I always crave this place whenever I visit friends here. I love breakfast food and I LOVE IHOP for it's huge selections and endless coffee. I always get the grits with the butter on the side, so good! The food is eh but it's the cute diner atmosphere and the nice staff that keeps bringing me back. I would give one more star if they started stocking skim milk. read more

Not your typical IHop. The food was actually good and service was amazing. Our server, George, Was both funny and attentive at 2am. We were seated within seconds of our arrival and George was telling jokes right off the bat. Great guy I still don't know nor do I want to know how he has that energy at 2 am but keep it up George! Twice in the last month I went to my favorite pancake house. Both times I had to walk out. Service was so bad, I couldn't get anyone to serve me. I heard the servers in the back talking loudly and laughing out loud. When I asked for the manager, he was called away from clearing a table. Both times were out of the busy times and the place was nearly empty. My wife was upset since we she was looking forward to pancakes and even when the manager apologized, swore she'd never return. We are senior citizens and seldom complain. read more

This is our families FAVORITE restaurant in Northern VA. Why cook and clean up at home when you can get great service. lots of fun food choices , generous portions and really reasonable prices. Also you can fill out the survey form and get a free short stack. The pancakes are THE BEST! What we really like is that we can trade out items for other side dishes. The servers are great at making suggestions so that you can have a perfect meal. Between coupons, surveys and senior discounts, there is something extra for everyone. Go and ENJOY!!! read more

It wasn't even busy we had to rely on other servers who had their own tables to worry about . Disappointed . Jose was an awesome server. During a busy Sunday morning after church, Jose made us feel like the only customers in the restaurant. We have a large family and there were 9 of us that day. I've been going here since I was very young and service has always been consistent and clean. There are always smiling faces, even if you're going in at heinous hours or with groups of theater kids high off adrenaline after their last show. Maybe the food isn't out of this world amazing but, even then, it's still a place that I would willingly go to. read more

This ihop location is my go to late night snack location! They have never once had a problem accommodating large groups, sometimes upwards of 15 people, that I come in with. The milkshakes are amazing and the various holiday themed options are always a hit! The wait staff are always kind and accommodating, no matter how late at night it may be or how complicated the order. As long as this ihop stands I will continue my patronage here. read more

When I went to the south, I started going to Waffle House which was also great in its own right, but the pancakes at IHOP and IHOP itself are definitely irreplaceable. read more

The night started off okay. The waiter seemed friendly. He took our order, brought our food, and checked in on us one time. But then, he didn't come back for 30 minutes. 3/5 of us were out of drinks, but no one seemed to care. There were 10 servers in the back, but no one came to check on us. When our server finally came back to bring us more drinks, he spilled soda in my friend's shoe. That was just the service itself. When we went to pay, we only got one check, even though we asked for separate, and the man at the register was very rude. We asked him to split it, and he did, but he seemed angry at us. I was paying for my friend as well, so we had two entrees plus a drink (for the college special), but he told me I couldn't use it because there was only one drink. Then he asked me if I wanted to buy another drink - why would I buy a drink I didn't drink?! To top it all off, none of us got a 'how was your meal?' or 'have a good night'. It's a shame because we've eaten here before and didn't have awful service but in fact much better. read more

I've like this location. It's close to campus and gives you student discount prices on Thursdays! It's great for college students who are on a budget! The service I've had here is great! They also seat you quickly unlike they do at other locations. But then again, it truly depends on who is your waiter. I've had some who hardly even check up on my table. Had a great breakfast this morning. Right on with the wait time. Party of 2; wait at 11:00 am was exactly 20 minutes. They told me it would be 20-25.
