We got our coffee and juice and ordered food. 45 minutes later still no food and people who came in 20 minutes after us got served by the same waiter, he didn't bother check our order. I stopped the waiter to complain and he said he would check (no apology). I told him don't bother give us a price for the coffee and juice. We had 5 in our party and we were seated immediately since we were almost the only ones in the restaurant. That should have been a sign to turn around and leave but we didn't take the hint. My husband ordered the ultra bacon omelette with the bacon extra crispy. When he cut into the omelette, not only was it cold but the bacon was barely cooked. He ate one bite. I've been to this ihop quite a few times and I'd have to admit, most of the times, the service and food has been fine. I've gone a few fridays at 4:30 pm and when I go then, we get our food super quick since almost no one is there. When I go at more popular times, like dinner time, it definitely takes some time, but not too long. I get the original buttermilk pancakes most times, and they're amazing. Also, today I tried a red velvet and a cupcake pancake, and in my honest opinion, the red velvet pancake had good icing but the actual pancake was boring. The cupcake pancake had very sweet frosting (too sweet for me) and the pancakes tasted like the original buttermilk. Overall, this ihop is pretty good... but, it is nothing amazing. read more

So I'm not sure where managers are tonight, but the service and staff are NOT good. We brought the grand kids and our daughter and in our section there is 22 people and our EMT guys have been waiting on food since we sat 40 min ago and just got our drinks. Looks to be about 45-50 people in the entire restaurant and there are way too many people waiting. There is food in the kitchen that has been sitting in the window for 8min and counting. Expected a lot better than we got, or I remembered... the good was that there was no wait for 3 of us on a Sunday morning at 10 AM. The not-so-good... the wait from the time we ordered to the time we got our food was way too long. Close to 30 minutes. My son and I both ordered food with 2 eggs and he got about double of what I did. Someone mixed up the kids' bacon and sausage, and the bacon my daughter got was burned. We can't speak the word "IHOP" in our house. We never have to ask the kids twice if they want to go, they love it! I mean, what's not to love about pancakes for dinner, right? If the word "IHOP" leaves either my or my wife's lips, then the kids will go into this feeding frenzy the likes of which shark-hunting scuba divers in metal cages have never seen. For a while, my wife and I were safe using what our eldest son called "the Mommy and Daddy code." We just spelled things out when we didn't want him to know what we were talking about. Ever since our eldest son learned to spell and read, though, my wife and I have developed a protocol for querying if the other is interested in going to IHOP. The secret codeword is, wait for it... "Foreign Residence of Tasty Flatbreads." Shhhhh, don't tell anyone (especially our kids)! We avoid this place like the plague on weekend mornings because of the crowds. However comma, we do commonly go here for dinner on a weeknight when neither my wife nor I feel like cooking. As with other reviewers here, I agree that IHOP is fairly consistent from one restaurant to the next. It's not exactly stellar service nor is the food exactly fresh (at least the non pancake variety). Here at the Ashburn location, the service isn't bad by any means. They get the job done. The food is the same as every other IHOP. We love the pancakes and french toast, and the prices are very reasonable. I love this Ihop, I come here all of the time with the family when we don't feel like making dinner haha. They have such a big menu to choose from, going here never seems to get old. And they have the best pancakes ever. I went here last week when I had just begun my low calorie diet to discover all types of healthier menu options! It's the simple and fit choices on the menu. I had the 2 x 2 x 2 (the healthy version) which included 2 egg whites, 2 pieces of turkey bacon and 2 pancakes...all for 400 calories! It was definitely a satisfying meal. This place gets 4 stars for it's food alone. I've never had pancakes that were so perfectly crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside! I got chocolate chip silver dollar pancakes and they were the perfect amount if sweet! Now the service was a little awkward...out waitress had a busted lip and kinda looked like she just woke up. This is my favorite IHOP location one waitress Ms. Tory she's the best all throughout high school and after we graduated everyone from Stonebridge when we had homecomings and proms would come here. She always took care of us and is so joyful and funny. Even once I moved to Sterling I would still drive back to this Ihop versus the sterling location because of her just great service. We stopped by this IHOP on our way home from a long night. We entered and seated right away. After checking the menu and waiting for about 15mins. I started to look around and servers were passing us by going to all the tables around us. Hmmmm another 15mins...we got up and exited this place. I told the greeter/manager...we waited for 30 mins and no one came over to our table. He looked slightly puzzled and a hispanic woman server looked on sheepishly as though she'd rather be somewhere else and not serving patrons. It's IHOP! It used to be the International House of Pancakes, but they're cutting costs by dropping the letters and passing the savings on to you! Anyway, this IHOP is pretty solid. Not great, but for an IHOP, it's pretty solid. Service has been continually good, the food has been reliable and decent, never had much of an issue. Orders come out quick and prepared well, prepared right. I may have rated it 3 stars, but it's a solid 3 stars. Everything's been on the up and up. It's a reliable, safe choice. Came here for a late dinner the other night.... I had a hankering for some pancakes, so that's exactly what I ordered! I ordered the Blueberry Banana Blitz Pancakes. Sounds good, right? Here is the description: "NFC Blueberry Banana Blitz: An NFC All-Pro lineup with two fluffy buttermilk pancakes filled with blueberries, then piled high with more blueberries, sliced fresh bananas and creamy whipped topping." My food came and I was starving. My pancakes were not filled with blueberries... they were however covered in them, which did not make up for this. The bananas were also a little brown looking too. They didn't taste awful, it was just disappointing. To go with my pancakes I had scrambled eggs with cheese, hashbrowns and I ordered sausage but ended up with bacon. I was charged an extra $0.79 for my cheese... Not sure that I got my full $0.79 worth... Overall, I have been to way better IHOPs in the area. Back again this time during breakfast 'rush' (8AM-9AM). Though parking lot looked very crowded no so inside. Again, VERY SLOW service taking our order but once taken, food came out fast and hot and food was very good with eggs cooked just right for me and Wifey. I like really thin omelets and the one today was very thin BUT not dry, very moist. Three snaps up !!! Love their Colorado Omelette. If you can tolerate slow but good service well worth a try any time of day (we are vast majority dinner so breakfast was unusual for us. 4 stars only cause food over shined the service. read more

Everyone's been to an ihop at least once in their lifetime, i like to assume. I stopped by this place earlier today to grab a quick bite. I noticed their holiday specials for pancakes. One of the flavors was Mexican Churro pancakes and I must say, this is probably the best pancakes I ever had in my life, being a Mexican I definitely under estimated this franchise. On top of that, our server Karen, gave us phenomenal service and had such a great energy with her. I left feeling full, happy, and above satisfied. IHOP is better choice than the drive-thru fast food in the area, but only to eat in. My family and I come here when we want our breakfast fix. Whether it's for yummy pancakes, scrumptious omelets, or consistently good sausage links and bacon, we always leave with happy tummies. I've never tried anything on the non-breakfast menus... have always figured that breakfast is great for any hour of the day. This particular IHOP location in Ashburn is always packed on the weekends but the service is fast and extremely upbeat and friendly. I agree with most Yelpers. I have had good and bad and average experience here. Some of the waiters are extremely friendly and nice. Others do not listen to your complete order and mess up orders. And a few others are just plain rude / nonchalant etc. The last time I was there was in 2nd week of June'15. The waitress didn't bother to listen to the complete order. I love the food at iHop but the service and staff are extremely unprofessional at this location. I arrived and they had a 20-30 minute wait. I look around and there is like no one. I decide to wait. About that time goes by and I'm seated. Within the 45 mins I was in the restaurant I witnessed several arguments between staff about cleaning tables, getting fair amount of tables, clearing off tables, etc. The entire time I had to ask for everything... bring me coffee with no spoon and a wet plate of God knows what, napkins, silverware, salt and pepper... not once was I asked if I needed anything. It's not even that busy... circle back around - the hostess / my waitress (who complained to the manager in front of me that she had so many tables (3)) informed 2 families the wait for 45 mins to an hour. Once the manager finally took over several families walked in snd were seated immediately. To say the least I'll drive to the Sterling location. read more
