$5 for a take out meal
Lyn L.

Stopped in for a quick bite and had such a great experience! Our server was super friendly from the moment we sat down and stayed attentive the whole meal--drinks were refilled almost instantly without us even asking. I ordered the kids' pancake meal (yes, adults can enjoy it too!) and it was perfect--three mini pancakes and one sausage, all delivered very quickly and hot off the griddle. My sisters went all in on the Old Timer's Breakfasts, which were generous and packed with options--French toast, warm biscuits, eggs, meat choices, and crispy hash browns. They loved every bite. Great service, quick food, and a comfortable, homey atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server, Sophie, made us feel welcome shortly after being seated. Absolutely delighted by the decor which harkens back to simpler times. As for the food...don't let the portions fool you. Their fried chicken is done right. The dinner salad was fresh, crisp and a meal in and of itself. Chicken dumplings? Outstanding! Wish we could have tried a dessert, but we were stuffed. This was our first time trying a Cracker Barrel. It's now going to be a restaurant we try to find. Living in SoCal, that's a challenge. Hope the tweaking to their operations is minimal because they have a very good thing going! Cheers!

there was a blue piece of microplastic in my togo food. i work in a restruant so i know this happens sometimes but still. could lead to me or somebody else getting very sick if they ate it.

What can you say about the traditional American breakfast being served hot on your plate by the most pleasant servers? It's wonderful.

Long long wait for a table during Thanksgiving Day lunch/dinner. We called ahead and waited 45 minutes. Got a table. Got the Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Added fried okra and hashbrown cass. The food was good but the temperature was not hot as we usually like it. The food was warm and sometimes cool for the sides. Not great. But the turkey was juicy. Not a fan of the sweet potato cass with pecans. The cornbread dressing and green beens good. The fried okra was piping hot but no seasoning. Pumpkin pie was defrosted out of the freezer. Tasted good tho. Lots of strange and annoying people dining and were out in force today at Cracker Barrel. Not the brightest or friendliest of people. I am sure they weren't thankful today cause they were quite rude. The problem with Cracker Barrel is they let the food sit to be picked up so when the customer gets the food, it isn't hot anymore. This has happened at both the Manassas and here at the Sterling location. Please do better. I understand today was a zoo but when at Manassas, it wasn't busy at all.

We enjoyed this comfort food, southern chain restaurant. It's nothing fancy but just good food with generous portion with lots of sides. I was sad to see so many low reviews due to slow service. But luckily we came here during slow time. The only thing was that my sides were not what ordered but no big deal. Be sure to check out their holiday merchandise and classic candies and cookies.

Very packed restaurant at 12:45 pm on a Saturday. Food was excellent, service very quick and decor traditionally Cracker Barrel - Recommended.

First time here and it was your typical southern style American food. I had got the fried fish with a side of broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Was not impressed because when the food came out my side of gravy was already congealed; cold. We didn't receive a basket of cornbread/bread until AFTER we received our food. Normally tables would receive the bread first after sitting down. We had to ask a few times to remind them. Fried fish was ok, mashed potatoes was good but could've been better if the gravy was hot when it arrived to my table. The cornbread is very delicious however when it finally got to our table. It was one of my favorites. Also tried the green apple iced tea and that's also pretty good. Kind of like jolly rancher iced tea. Perk about this place is that is has an actual store out front. I found that very intriguing because they sell lots of Knick knacks and some nice candles!

4/8/24 Found a Cracker Barrel on our way to the Great Falls and had to get breakfast. We usually have lunch or dinner at Cracker Barrel, so we haven't had their breakfast. It was meh... Service was amazing by Lukas. So attentive. Hubby kept dropping his and my utensils LOL. Lukas was there with refills, and when we wanted extra gravy. The new Cherry Lemonade was delicious, I should have bought a gallon, but we still had another week of vacation, LOL

They will not substitute food. My wife wanted a thigh instead of a breast on the fried chicken and they refused. Service was pushy. It is Cracker Barrel so the feel is what it is No surprises there. Will not be back. Had to order something else. Ordered a medium rare hamburger. And it was well done. The fried apples, was apple pie filling.

Just walking in you knew you would be leaving full, content and happy (and ready for a mid morning nap)! The food was exactly what I was hoping for and actually expected. My buddy Mike had a Denver Omelette with Hash Browns and Rye Toast and I had a Cheddar Cheese, Mushroom and Bacon Omelette, also with Rye. I also got a side of Sausage Gravy for my Crispy Browns. There there is an Olive Garden nearby so it isn't out by itself, even if it feels like it. The weather was beautiful, so we grabbed a high top in the bar area, overlooking a nice little pond behind the restaurant. The service in the bar was surprisingly good, despite the bar itself being pretty crowded and nearly every table around it being populated. The food was served quickly and they allowed us to customize to our liking (TIP: pay the nominal upcharge to replace your existing side dish to Brussels sprouts with bacon and spiced pecans! Or get it as a side to share) I had the Hickory Grilled Hanger Steak with mashed potatoes and a field greens salad, except no potatoes. The salad was amazing (it has dates in it for a sweetness to balance the sour of the dressing) and the medium rare steak was phenomenal. We each had a glass of beer -- the Pale Face Summer Wheat on draft. It is a classic German Hefeweizen and described as "malty with banana and clove flavors." I tested the banana on my first sip. It was a solid choice. The next day, we worked a 15 hour day without stopping to eat. By the time we finished, we were so tired that we agreed to return. I ordered the same steak and my coworker followed my recommendation. He agreed that this is the steak to order. (even if he ordered his more well done than mine). For the second visit, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert instead of beer with dinner. I suggest splitting the dessert. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, but was definitely shareable after a full steak meal.

It's exactly what you'd expect from a Southern style dish in Charleston SC. Rich, comforting, and well executed. The crispy calamari appetizer was disappointing. Most of the pieces were tiny, which made them too small to dip into the sauce. It was also too salty. Cutting the salt by about 33% would help a lot. The worst part was the service. There was a long gap between our appetizer and entrees, and I could see our food sitting under the heat lamps for a long time. When our server Soledad passed by, I told her I noticed our entrees were ready and asked if we could get them. She seemed annoyed and told me I had to wait my turn because they execute tickets in order. The kitchen talent is clearly good, but they need to train their servers to have more grace under pressure. Overall, not worth coming again when there are so many great dining options in the area.

If a place consistently delivers tasty food, solid execution, and keeps you wanting to come back, that earns a top rating from me. Ted's Bulletin absolutely does that. We have been to the One Loudoun location several times for breakfast, and it is consistently a great experience. That kind of consistency matters, especially for breakfast service where some places can be hit or miss. One of our favorites has been the huevos rancheros. They serve it on tostadas, which gives the dish a great crispy base and a really satisfying texture. It is flavorful, hearty, and always hits the spot. We have also had their homemade tater tots, and they are excellent. Nicely fried, crisp on the outside, soft inside, and clearly done with care rather than feeling like an afterthought side dish. Their French toast is another strong option and always enjoyable. If you are in the mood for something sweeter, it is a very solid choice. We have also tried the breakfast cinnamon roll. It is definitely generous in size. It is decent and worth trying, but it can be a lot, which is probably why we only order it occasionally. For the kids, the hot chocolate is always a favorite and something they genuinely look forward to each visit. It wasn't crowded, service was fine, and nothing was outright bad--it just didn't deliver the kind of experience I've come to expect from Ted's.
