It was like being in a completely different atmosphere. You can see from the photos attached that the meal was /cr B/ /ump I/ Teges. We started out with these great appetizers. I make a Barada burst at home, we learned in Italy how to do it. Yours was one of the best I've ever had. Same with the lemon ricotta ravioli. It's like we were in Sicily again. Sitting at the bar, we decided sure why not have their best steak? And we did. And it was. This was a Prime Kansas City strip, 18 ounce bone in. on top, a buttery braised shallot. Cooked to perfection, tasty and buttery. Our sides were these nice parmesan crispy, layered potatoes and a delightful grilled leaf spinach. We were a little disappointed we had no room for dessert. But we will be back! The service was spectacular. Sitting at the bar, it was like we had two personal servers and a third on standby at all times. The country fried steak was huge, and the biscuit was light, fluffy, and perfect for soaking up my over-medium eggs. My wife went with the Kashmir's Sterling Combo, which included golden-brown French toast, two eggs, hash browns, and bacon. The hash browns and bacon were both perfectly crispy. Jennifer was our server, and she was incredibly friendly. We hadn't visited in a while, and she filled us in on all the improvements since a car crashed into the building back in May 2025. The renovations look great--the new flooring brightens up the dining room, and relocating the check-in counter has made the space feel much more open. We arrived around 10 a.m. on a Wednesday, and it was pleasantly quiet. By 11 a.m., the place was filling up quickly, so our timing couldn't have been better. The bathrooms are a bit cramped but were clean and well maintained. There's also a second dining area with additional tables and booths if the main room gets busy. Just note that there are two entrances on opposite sides of the building, but you'll still need to check in at the host stand to be seated. Overall, Virginia Kitchen consistently delivers good food, friendly service, and excellent value. It'll continue to be one of our favorite breakfast spots in Herndon.

You can tell the their food is made from scratch, and the quality of ingredients is very apparent, and for that, I do pay their prices. Hardly ate any of the good as the gravy was all over everything. Mentioned it to our wonderful waitress who should have either offered a piece of chicken without gravy or no charge for mostly untouched meal but that didn't happen. No to the wise : consider getting the chicken and waffles without gravy. Note to this wonderful restaurant: please reconsider your gravy recipe.
