Build your own feast. Fried flounder, coconut shrimp, broiled scallops

My wife and I ate dinner there on August 2nd. We had, I think they call it, Rocket Shrimp as an appetizer. It was very tasty, the sauce was delicious. The cheddar biscuits were delicious as always. She had the baradi crab legs, crispy potatoes, and steamed broccoli. The crab was tender, sweet, delicious. The crispy potatoes were delicious, they needed salt but so nice and crispy. The steamed broccoli was cooked perfectly but also lacked salt. I had the stuffed flounder, Mac and Cheese, Brussel sprouts. The fish was tender, the sauce was delicious. The bacon Mac and Cheese was very tasty. Lots of bacon. Needed a little more sauce but very tasty. The Brussel sprouts are delicious. Perfectly cooked. Just the right amount of balsamic vinegar. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Glad to see Red Lobster is back! The food was wonderful. The hush puppies were better than I even remember. The margarita flight wasn't too good but it may just be that I'm not a huge drinker. The server was attentive and very friendly. The dining area was clean and nice but the female restroom was horrible and smelled like a sewer. I took a star off for cleanliness of the restroom.

I can't tell you the last time I've been to Red Lobster but I was inspired by posts regarding the $20 Tuesday Crab Legs on TikTok so I said let me go on and see what everyone is talking about. I arrived around prime dinner time and was seated immediately. My 1st server Freddie immediately greeted me and I told him I already knew what I wanted because I was here for the Tuesday Crab Leg special to which he said was a good choice. You can opt for traditional steamed legs or garlic butter and I had to go with the garlic butter because why not!!??!!?? The deal also comes with crispy potatoes and your choice of one side. Once upon a time all entrees came with salads if I recall correctly, yet I guess with inflation over the years that wasn't the case anymore and a side salad as a side has an up charge of $2.49.... so I "splurged" lol and ordered the side salad as my side. As I waited Freddie brought a basket of those delicious cheddar bay biscuits and on first bite, they were just as I remembered .... PURE HEAVEN! Once my meal arrived I was excited to dig in! And let me just say that everything was YUMMY! The only critique I have is that the crab leg shells were a little soft which was unusual (I'm used to them being pretty firm and with the cracking device cracking them it being a bit of a SNAP, yet that wasn't the case) but the meat in those legs came out perfectly and there was zero fight in getting it out. I was checked on a few times throughout my meal by a new server, Marvin, and he ensured that I was enjoying everything and that I had everything I needed. I was able to eat all the crab legs and left 75% of the potatoes, not because they were bad (they were actually delicious), but because I was full! So, this Tuesday deal is truly a GREAT ONE because it's delicious and filling and all for just around $20! Needless to say I'll be back Red Lobster and the Endless Shrimp will be next on my list :)

Red Lobster is always hit or miss but this visit was a hit. Food (5/5): Cheddar Bay biscuits were fresh and hot. The food was great. We came for Lobsterfest. We had coconut shrimp- which were large and freshly fried. Hubby got the seafood stuffed flounder and I had the Lobsterfest special of grilled lobster tail and steamed lobster tail (the grilled was the best). We had sides of salad (fresh simple garden salad), broccoli (steamed with butter and garlic- my favorite), cole slaw (just ok), and mashed potatoes with a special lobster cream sauce (5.50 extra and worth it). Overall, we ended taking half of the meals home (other than the lobster tails) so we got another meal from this.). Service (5/5): the servers were kind and attentive. Value (3/5): The food is really overpriced for what you get and I'm always surprised that Red Lobster is still in business.

Totally forgot til we were done eating...

I would recommend a reservation because with rain outside aka the patio being closed, the whole inside was packed. A lot of the seats are super close which feels very European but you can hear most peoples conversations which can be annoying. Our waitress was really sweet and stopped by a bunch. We started with French 75's, hot coffee, and an espresso martini. The drinks were refreshing and quite large for the price. The espresso martini really reminded me of a grown up hot chocolate, I really enjoyed it. I later also got a cucumber vodka martini and it was one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had - definitely the drink of the summer. For our food we started with the baked brie with fig and garlic and the escargot. The brie was a unique take on baked brie, I loved the way the flavors all melded and the fact the cheese wasn't completely spilling out everywhere. The escargot was soft with a phenomenal crumb/butter mix, the whole things really melded well and melted in your mouth. The bread served with it was nice as well, if only I had a bit more of it. For our mains we were here during brunch so we got the lobster omelet and the French onion soup with the side of fries. The french onion soup was great, a good amount of cheese and onions without being overwhelming. Fries were fantastic and quite large, a big portion for $7. They hooked it up with the amount of lobster. I would definitely come back to try their lunch tasting menu or other brunch items as well!

The short ribs fell apart without a knife bc they were sooo tender and the desserts were expertly crafted. I might go back just for dessert yum!! The Brie appetizer was enjoyable though a little small if splitting. The shrimp cocktail were very traditional. I enjoyed them. My husband loved the homemade baguette although I wonder if it's because the butter was so good; the bread itself was a little hard for me and of course room temp as is typical in France. Kids enjoyed the kids options (though preferred our dishes). Pasta in cream sauce and steak frites were their choices. It was really loud inside particularly when tables in the middle of the room were occupied. Outdoor patio might be pleasant for easier conversation. Also bring a sweater- if you end up under an ac vent, it can be cold.

In front of customers, he addressed staff in a manner that came across as rude, condescending, and unprofessional. He referenced scheduling demands and appeared dismissive of their hard work during a busy influx of guests. Rather than improving service, his tone created visible tension and added stress to the dining room. We are weekly diners and know many of the staff by name. Watching them be publicly belittled while they continued providing excellent service made all four of us uncomfortable enough to leave earlier than usual. We understand everyone can have an off day, but this did not reflect the standard of professionalism and hospitality we've come to expect from Burtons. Their hardworking staff did not merit their leader's negative conduct that day. We value this restaurant and its team and hope this feedback is taken constructively. If he is the manager in charge on Wednesdays we will not return. Aside from the uncomfortable incident I will note the food is excellent, the waiters, hosts, bartenders, chefs are all wonderful. (end of original review) Response from~ Ivy E on February 27th replied to our review verbatim: "Alejandro, this is very troubling to read. I am so sorry that anything I say to my staff would ever be construed so negatively, certainly to the extent it would ruin someone's experience at our restaurant. I certainly welcome the opportunity to be able to discuss this with you further. I would cherish a moment of your time to deep dive into this. There are two things that are extremely important to me: my staff and the guest experience. Burtons embraces 7 Defining Principles and one of those is "Quality." My staff's quality of life is always at the forefront of my mind. If they are happy, then they will hopefully take great care of our guests. I would never ever be dismissive of their hard work as you have referenced and tend to go out of my way to thank them for their hard work. I am a big fan of the high five and Wednesday there was a lot of high 5's being thrown around. So please feel free to seek me out and hopefully after an actual conversation with one another, with any luck we can walk away with a better understanding of one another's thought process." (end of Ivy E. Business Affiliated Reply) :::Update::to Business response: Ivy or Larry?, Thank you for responding. I think? I want to be honest. The reply felt defensive and focused on intent rather than on the guest experience that was described. There was absolutely no acknowledgment that the interaction may have been uncomfortable for those in the dining room, and no apology for that impact. A client-first response usually begins with listening, taking ownership of how something was experienced, and offering reassurance that it will be reflected on or remedied. Instead, the emphasis seemed to be on explaining why the behavior would not have been dismissive. Gpt Much? We are weekly diners. We were there. There was a row of us. The atmosphere shifted. It became tense and uncomfortable enough that we left early feeling bad for other diners and especially the staff on hand. That has never happened before. Regarding the invitation to speak one on one, it is difficult to feel comfortable pursuing that when the initial response does not acknowledge or apologize for what occurred plus based on our experience is intimidating to be honest. Before a private conversation can feel constructive, there needs to be recognition of the impact that was described publicly. This is not about attacking anyone's character. It is about accountability and maintaining the standard of professionalism that made us regulars in the first place and most that was thanks to the wonderful staff that was being pummeled by your ire. This is also not a bot-gpt-dry pr response. It may be well for you to know I'm also being very considerate and mindful in my review in comparison to the guests and fellow diners who witnessed this behavior wish me to be. We hope this feedback can simply be received in that spirit and that Burton's as a whole can make sure that should they feel the need to be short with their employees they can do so in a manner that is more private, constructive, and away from our dining experience. At the minimum in a more professional manner and conduct. Alejandro

The service in the bar was surprisingly good, despite the bar itself being pretty crowded and nearly every table around it being populated. The food was served quickly and they allowed us to customize to our liking (TIP: pay the nominal upcharge to replace your existing side dish to Brussels sprouts with bacon and spiced pecans! Or get it as a side to share) I had the Hickory Grilled Hanger Steak with mashed potatoes and a field greens salad, except no potatoes. The salad was amazing (it has dates in it for a sweetness to balance the sour of the dressing) and the medium rare steak was phenomenal. We each had a glass of beer -- the Pale Face Summer Wheat on draft. It is a classic German Hefeweizen and described as "malty with banana and clove flavors." I tested the banana on my first sip. It was a solid choice. The next day, we worked a 15 hour day without stopping to eat. By the time we finished, we were so tired that we agreed to return. I ordered the same steak and my coworker followed my recommendation. He agreed that this is the steak to order. (even if he ordered his more well done than mine). For the second visit, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert instead of beer with dinner. I suggest splitting the dessert. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, but was definitely shareable after a full steak meal.

Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. I read my last review of this place over 2 years ago and chuckled. Even back then (just coming out of covid) I was complaining about these same things - price increase and shrinkflation. And to think I thought $22 for 2 teriyaki chicken meals was too much! This weekend I paid $19 for ONE, count 'em ONE, chicken teriyaki meal, granted with double meat. What in the world was I complaining about 2+ years ago, amiright?! lol Then why keep coming here, you ask? Well, sometimes you have to cave in when the teriyaki craving hits you. We come out to the mall eatery when we're in the area running errands. The eatery has surprisingly rebounded and appears to be reconstituting its offerings although the mall itself, post-covid, remains a sad and sorry shell of its former self. #sadface Back to Sarku...No complaints at all about the taste, freshness and quality of the teriyaki chicken. A container full of sizzling, piping hot and fresh grilled meat right from watching it get expertly grilled right before your own eyes - CAN'T GET MORE FRESH THAN THAT. The "chef" working the grill honestly is a pro. We remember him when he first started wayyyyy back in the day (well before covid) - "apprenticing" under the prev "chef". This guy is good - he apprenticed well lol. He's fast, efficient and knows how to crank out multiple orders at once. Frankly, he single-handedly keeps this place running like a top. (Give this guy a raise....or part ownership of the business because he's the one keeping this place alive and kicking.) So, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WITH SARKU'S FOOD QUALITY. Our go-to order now is to order 1 ENTREE WITH DOUBLE MEAT. It's definitely a better deal and IT'S ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE TO SHARE - especially if you're not ravenous. Check out my pic and vid of our double meat order. You'll see what I mean. ANOTHER TIP: no matter that we no longer frequent this place much anymore (due to how expensive it's become for "fast food"), we still keep a FREQUENT DINER CARD on hand and use it when we go/order - it's worth getting a free entree for every 6 you order - so if you're not doing that (especially if you do go here regularly or order multiple entrees in a single visit), get a card from the cashier and start getting your entrees stamped and earning a free meal. The cards never expire and are not location specific so even better if you frequent different Sarku locations. As I said, we don't go out of our way to go to this Sarku or any other location because of how pricey it is. Sarku has continued to steadily jack up their prices AND have made their containers smaller and smaller and smaller (so they can make you feel like they've generously stuffed your box full of food - clever! ...not). Their other menu items might be better value but I seriously doubt it and I don't think I would trust sushi made at a fast food carryout joint anyway. So, for all these reasons, we only go when we're in the area of the mall AND have a craving for teriyaki chicken.
