So, the food and service are great! Can't get any fresher or more authentic. Felt like I was back in Mexico when I was there

Stumbled upon this gyro spot that had a lot of classic Greek food. My girlfriend had a sore throat…read moreso we got the lemon chicken soup which was light, citrus and very yummy. The gyro was massive and packed full of meat and also very good. Paired with their fries and potatoes (which were heavily seasoned and absolutely amazing) made for a super filling and tasty quick dinner. One of my new favorite spots for gyros in the DMV! BLUF: After all these years and several locations later, Big Greek Cafe still delivers good food at…read morea decent value. The service at the Sterling location on the day I visited was excellent. Friendly, patient, helpful, and polite. The feel of the location itself is your typical fast-food joint. Get in. Get out. Seemed clean enough. Not very cozy as in a great place to hang out. Not sure how it is during peak hours but the parking lot might get a bit crowded. The street for sure is busy & can cause cars to back up into the parking lot. The food, while not as awesome as I remembered it 5 years ago in MD, is still tasty. Today's visit, the meat in gyros was a bit dry & the gyros & the side of fries I paid full price for were rather skimpy in serving, given that the gyros used to be served with fries included in the price of the gyro. Still, the fries & the gyros still taste good. Not as good a value as in days of old...even on $7 gyro Wednesdays (which used to be $5 gyro Wednesdays). The fried fish sandwich was a good deal in these horrible economic times because it comes with a good-sized filet and fries. Although, $2 extra for Greek fries that only had a tablespoon of garlic, dry herbs, and feta crumbles tossed on top rolling off the fries then pooling at the bottom of the container. The garlic, herbs, & feta are supposed to stick to piping hot fries steaming with the awesome garlicky oil. What I received was really underwhelming and didn't even come close to the Greek fries I remember. So, I'll preface this review conclusion with this: Big Greek Cafe was one of my absolute favorite local joints... the food made me drool just thinking about it. The food was always plentiful in servings, hot, fresh, aromatic, wonderfully delicious, and everything on the menu was such a good value, you'd end up buying a ton of food. Was this trip worth the drive? Glad the curiosity about whether this VA location equaled the MD experiences was satisfied. Probably no longer high on my list to go out of my way to drive 30 minutes to get what used to be my fav sandwich. It seems a little too fast-foodsy, mass-produced now than the original delectable hole-in-the-wall local joint. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely pick up something because it's still tasty...just not as fantastic as I remember.

I would've liked more avocado in the bowl as well. Service - We went in during the lunch rush and it took almost 30 minutes to get our food. The employees were restocking and fulfilling online orders, so a pretty long line formed while waiting. Be prepared to wait for a while to get your food, especially during lunch/dinner rush. Ambiance - Inside was clean and spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's also a small self-serve station for water cups.

I…read morehad gone there a handful of times and the food was great and always prepared properly as described and fresh. As of the last 6 months to a year things have been horrible. Ordering online, arriving at the store to just have the order not even prepared yet. I recently just visited on 4/23/2026 and it was the worst of them all. They were out of about 3 ingredients that went with my hot honey chicken bowl. The worker there did not know how to even make my bowl he kept having to look at the instructions on how to even make it. To add to that the blackened chicken wasn't even available as I ordered and was told when he was halfway done making it. Of course as soon as I paid for my meal the cook from the back walked out with a fresh batch of blackened chicken. The worker preparing my bowl didn't even bother to go back and check as he was making it to see if anymore was being prepared. All he did was say "sorry" and smirked as I walked out. The slaw that goes with my order was just raw onions, and also missing other ingredients. This location is horrible and it will be THE LAST time I go back. Ever. Don't go to this location at one Loudoun you will be highly let down on the quality of food and service provided.

I recently started being a nomad living in my car and following the social media trend of "living…read morelife on 'one's' own speed" and decided to put all my belongings in a storage unit and travel. Yes, I am only traveling in the DC area but it is still traveling and learning all that DC has to offer (including the best places to eat). One of the things that DC has to offer is a Panera Bread at many high traffic shopping centers. I recently became a member of the sip club. As an introductory offer (at this point in time), a sip club membership is $3/month for the first three months. You cannot beat that if 1. you are a coffee lover 2. you spend $5+ at Starbucks (daily) and 3. you are always on the move. I am currently making money being a Lyft driver and being a door dasher. It is amazing for me to be able to go to my nearest Panera and get an iced coffee on a beautiful sunny morning. I love the ability to get an arnold palmer when the beautiful sunny morning has turned into a beautiful sunny day. I can also get tea (very high quality green tea) when it is snowy and/or rainy cold. If you are reading this review, think about becoming a sip club member. The $3/month offer is worth it just to save money for 3 months but you should not get rid of it because at its standard price of $14.99/month, it is a still a steal if you are a coffee lover. Please get the sip club membership and always get your standard fountain drink at Panera because you will save if you get that McChicken, that bacon little cheeseburger from Five Guys, or that sandwich from Jersey Mikes if you get the entree at the main place of business, and enjoy your drink from Panera (always making sure you are saving in the long run). Now onto the folks you will meet @ the Sterling location. I have met Rickard, Jahtrel, Concepcion, and the general manager, Krystal, (among a few others). I have to give the general manager a lot of props. I believe it was her idea to communicate to the community that if there is a school event or a local organization that wants to initiate a fundraiser, Panera is a great company to co-host. Rickard is a little intense but he's a nice guy - ears gauged, bilingual, tattoos, and always just trying to get through the shift with as much positivity as he can give you. Concepcion is a gem! She is most likely in her late 50s, early 60s, speaks fairly great English for English being her second language, and most definitely is a hardworking, kind-hearted woman (so don't be rude or come to the restaurant with "bad juju"). Jahtrel is cool too - probably in his early twenties trying to save money for memories, experiences, and cool new shoes (as well all do in that time of our lives). Now onto to the food. I grew up going to a Panera not to far way from my childhood home in Silver Spring, Md. The Panera I grew up going to is a-okay. I can confidently say that the bread is fresher in the sandwiches in the Stering, Va location (not to say it's not fresh in Silver Spring), just saying I tried the summer caprese sandwich on focaccia bread and it was very satisfying. I love caprese everything and I was afraid of the focaccia bread at Panera because I have had authentic, straight out of the oven focaccia bread before and I did not like it at all. It tasted too much like black pepper with an after taste of sourdough bread. The focaccia bread at Panera does not taste anything like that. It pairs very well with the summer caprese sandwich. Overall, this fast-casual cafe deserves a 8.5 out of the 10 scale based on food quality, how and who they hire, what they prioritize (community & being a for-profit entity), and the cleanliness (outside & inside) of the restaurant.

The Chipotle Chicken Avo Melt and Macaroni and cheese was delicious! The Macaroni was a tad bit tangy for my liking, but the cheese and Pasta was really well cooked. The sandwich, I ordered whole, was more than filling, the spices and avocado were just the cherry on top! *Relaxing vibe, the floor was visibly clean, except for some crumbs, but what can you do really. Music choice was very nice, to be fair I like any type of music, but that's coming from a rock listener in an environment with pop in the background. Lighting, Seating was truly the seller, calming, relaxing, while having a lively atmosphere. This was a great experience for a first time! Not Fine Dining, but not Fast Food. A true cafe experience! Bye!
