This is my fav sushi place in the Bensonhurst / Bath Beach area. If you exit the Bay Parkway station on the D line, . It's not that big, which actually works for your favor, as it doesn't get that loud inside and the waitresses are never far away. Aura: This place is a great place to bring your date. They have 2 booths that sit 4 (more if you're skinny) that are nice and cozy, with some drapes and couch pillows. I've heard relaxing Chinese music playing faintly in the background from time to time. Having friendly wait staff that are always ready to refill your tea only add to the experience here. And for a small sushi place, unlike a sailor's left boot, it doesn't smell fishy! Food: Their bento boxes and other dishes look nice, but I can't say, because whenever I go here, I get a few of their special rolls, some sashimi, and maybe a hand roll or two. At the prices they have for sushi, it's well worth it. To be honest, when it comes to entrees, I've pretty much only had their sushi and sashimi, and I'm quite happy with that. Their sushi is very fresh. Excellent shrimp tempura and house special rolls. Happy hour offers with half off rolls specials and it's conveniently right next to the train. Service is a bit slow and they did nothing when another customer was yelling into his cell phone at the table across from me for more than 5 minutes. I went for a lunch special and I ordered "Shrimp Teriyaki Bento Box". This is what I got: Three small shrimps with carrots and some onions. Yes, three pieces. Some white rice and 4 pieces of california rolls. A lady was serving our food. She didn't bother to ask us if we were okay or we wanted something to drink. No wonder why the place was EMPTY. I've been coming here for ten years. I've tried every other sushi restaurant in the neighborhood, and for me and all of the people that I've brought here, the atmosphere and coziness of the restaurant (especially their little booths) and the quality of the food is not matchable. There's obviously better places in the city like Tao and Koi, but for the neighborhood resident, this place is top value in price, food, and coziness. Five stars. read more

Ichi Sushi is one of the better sushi restaurants in Brooklyn. Their food is good and the service is always on point. It has become our family tradition to come here for sushi on birthdays. One of my favorite I would recommend is the Pink Lady Roll. I have yet to find another restaurant that makes it the same way but something about an avocado and crab roll with spicy salmon on top is irresistible to me. read more

Ichi Sushi is a quaint little place right off busy 86th Street. Cozy, clean and comfortable, the 30 seat japanese restaurant is a good size for an intimate dinner date. The place doesn't offer AYCE (All You Can Eat) as most of the other japanese establishments in the area do, but the food is still a great deal. Fish to rice ratio on the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls are great. Each piece is a mouthful, although, none of our 7 rolls ordered came out the same size. The eel is decent, though I find it a bit skimpy compared to Fontanas. All in all a good bet for sushi in Bensonhurst. read more

I ordered spicy salmon, tako maki roll, amaebi roll, harimoll roll, smoked salmon sushi, spicy salmon sushi, spicy tuna sushi, ebi sushi, cooked scallop sushi, and tako sushi. I dont know why but the spicy salmon roll tasted weird and so did th amaebi roll. They forgot to give me my ebi sushi.. and charged me for it.. Never ordering from here again. read more

So sadly the last 3-4 times I've ordered sushi, it's been less than kosher - salmon shouldn't smell "fishy". So I'd still eat cooked dishes here - udon, teriyaki, but never again will I get sushi. The quality has just gone down and I can't trust it anymore. It's a shame really. read more

Food is slightly above average for a sushi place in Bensonhurst. Service is very quick and efficient. However, the woman who works here is consistently rude and uninviting whenever i order takeout and delivery. Table service is nothing to write home about either. It's a quaint little place away from the hustle and bustle of 86th Street. You probably won't notice it unless someone pointed it out to you, and you probably won't believe how microscopic this place is. And every day is a grand opening day as indicated by their blindingly bright orange sign. Unlike most of the sushi places on 86th Street, this sushi place doesn't have an $20 All-You-Can-Eat deal going on here. Aside from that, it is priced relatively well; $2.50 for a roll, $1 for a piece of sushi/sashimi. Whereas most places fill up on the rice to the point where you you'll need your stomach pumped Ichi Sushi, well, doesn't. It's nicely layered and enough to give that piece of sushi some texture; it won't make your regret that you ate four rolls and ruin the rest of your day. Normally, I reserve judgment after a couple of trips to sushi places, but for this I'll make an exception. It's already better since I didn't have have to sit there and chew on rice. Shitty service! Shitty sushi! I told the lady on the phone to give me soy sauce and spicy mayo.. I got NO soy sauce and for $1 not even half full scy mayo. When I called to tell her she forgot the soy sauce she got nasty.." What you want? Come here, pick it up!" my order was pretty big, all sushi, no sauce. Hello everyone! I just want to share my first and last experience from this restaurant. Yesterday I had 2 rolls there and half an hour after I started to feel very sick at my stomach. 1 hour later all my skin cover with red color and bubbles. I got very scared and by the recommendation of my doctor bought a lot of medicine. When I woke up today all went away but I still feel very sick at my stomach and probably wont be able to work. I called today to this restaurant (they guy named himself Jack) and he said they his manager Ray is not there yet (busiest lunch time). According to him noone called with same diseases yet and cannot to help me with anything. Does it means that to check there food and stuff they have to get more customers calling with food poisoning problem? It does not make any sense for me!!! This restaurant should be inspected by health and safety before more people will get more poisoning from them STAY AWAY FROM THIS FILTHY PLACE ! Love this place for "Grand Opening" $2.50 rolls, $1 sashimi piece and buy 1 get half off special rolls. Their "Grand Opening" special never ended since they opened like maybe 5 years ago? Their sign is still up and right outside the door. Great prices and decent sushi for Brooklyn. Though the restaurant is small, I never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. Funny name, you wont for get it. The food is tops. I love japanese so I can appreciate a good spot. I guess for them its quality not quantity since the restaurant is limited on space, but them make up for it in service and great food. Very pleasant waitstaff, real cozy diggs, and you get everything you would get in full blown spot, but here it feels personalized. They must be doing something good cause they are always busy. I had a pretty decent time at Ichi Sushi. The food and ambiance is overall good. The sashimi slices were thin and the rolls are very small but since it's half off, I guess it's ok. I came here recently with a friend this weekend for a late lunch. We had the Brooklyn Bridge. This was a meal for two. I notice there is a Love boat option as well but it's for 3 people. Why is a love boat for 3 people??? Shouldn't it be for 2? Just a comment... anyways, my Brooklyn bridge order was just okay. Yes looked fancy with the "boat" but the sushi was okay. It was actually made poorly to the point that it was falling apart as you pick it up with my chopsticks... I liked the booth tables, it made it cozy. Good for a date, wasn't bright here. We also had fried green tea ice cream and it wasn't bad. My overall experience was okay. Will I be back? Probably. Stop by if you don't have high standards on sushi. Lol. Just a lunch. read more

This place wasn't bad but there wasn't anything too special about it. The food was average at best ,but if i wanted sushi and i was around the area i might consider giving this place another go. I had the eel avocado roll which was alright. The Salmon roll was like any other generic sushi places. The Chicken teriyaki was also generic but i guess isn't too bad. The salmon teriyaki again was average at best. All and all this place is just plain average. read more

This place didn't get my order right when I order chicken tempura rolls and they keep asking raw raw? I didn't want to eat raw sushi so I said no and she brought out Chicken strips and insisted it was my fault when I clearly said four pieces. Ichi is a small place off 86th Street. The sushi is tasty and the basic rolls only cost 2.50. The special rolls are buy one get one free. Ichi is my favorite sushi place on 86th. The only down side is that, because it is a small place, the servers tend to to rush you when it gets busy. read more

This is my go-to sushi place. I have ordered from both this location, and their other location. The prices are great - $2.75 for a regular roll, and I love their buy one, get one 50% special rolls! It's a great deal. The food itself is decent - I haven't had any problems. It tastes good, it's fresh. Delivery is always quick, and their estimated delivery time is pretty spot on. read more

Cool owners, I've been a regular since this place opened up. Sushi is good/decent , and place is clean. prices are low to average. 2.50 - 3.50 for regulars and 5.99 - 15.00 for fancy rolls. Everything else is also very reasonably priced. We have sushi bars on every block, and Ichi (I think) is the best. read more
