    Dinner: chicken and beef teriyaki
    Crystal L.

Came here spontaneously when we were walking by and just so happened to be talking about dinner. We ordered a dinner box where you choose 2 protein (we chose beef and chicken teriyaki), and it comes with rice, california roll, 2 shumai, Seaweed salad, and miso soup or salad. We also ordered a chicken udon also comes with miso soup or salad. The staff were all very friendly, greeted us with smiling faces, even those who we did not interacted with for our order. We ordered our meal to go. When we got home we were surprised by the large portion sizes. It was enough food that served both of us 2 meals. And we were both happy at how the food tasted, I mean I guess it's not like blow our socks off good since it is the typical sushi restaurant, but good enough that I would come back here. Also noticed they have an extensive menu, also serving pokebowls.

    Sushi Dinner - quality fish

No idea what this other review by this moron "Mathew" is talking about. I been meaning to try this place I eat a lot of sushi, so happy I did, by far the best sushi I've ever had. I sat at the bar and enjoyed it. The quality of the fish is what makes it, it's cut nice and thick, I also really liked their sushi rice- not too sweet. Everything was top top quality. So happy I randomly stopped in, now I come all the way from bay ridge to eat here. Highly recommend it if you like good quality sushi. Nice assortment of Japanese drinks as well.

This new place just open on 13 Ave and 79 st. We came to order for lunch. Salmon teriyaki was very good. Sauce was not too sweet. Came with a side of rice and salad/soup. My friend ordered the sushi and said it was very good. We took it to go and they gave us two small bottle of water. Love the sushi bar table by the entrance.

The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We recently visited for a birthday and it was a great experience…read more From the moment we sat down, the staff was incredibly thoughtful--they actually brought out coloring books and markers for my two children right away. It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Between the incredibly fresh sushi and the warm hospitality that kept the whole family smiling the entire time, this spot easily earned five stars. We can't wait to come back!

We have been searching for a Japanese restaurant in our area as a response to the Fall of Tenzan…read more We were looking for a place that can make beef teriyaki, appetizers, and other kitchen items as well as fresh seafood options. I have a tendency to pinpoint the moment that fish transcends from being sashimi-worthy to being sushi-worthy. I also notice imitation crab stick like a sore thumb. When I first opened the package, I was amazed by the smell of the gyoza. They smelled amazing. I can't eat them, but was told they were great. The Miso Soup was in a generous 16 ounce container. It was delicious and clean. The Beef Teriyaki was great. It wasn't undercooked. It wasn't sweet. It had that great grill taste, like a steak. The bed of veggies underneath had that same great grilled taste, and weren't disproportionately cabbage. The dish wasn't drowning in teriyaki and that made it possible to eat every bite. The Sashimi Deluxe was fabulous. The fish was fresh and the serving was ample. Each type of fish was on a shisho leaf upon a bed of daikon, which was nice. I did find one pinbone and one piece had a bit of membrane that should have been trimmed off. These are totally acceptable compared to being served fishy tasting sashimi. There was ample rice included with the doshes, and soy sauce that was dark and strong in 2 ounce containers. The California roll was the only unremarkable item. Tenzan never added cucumber to their California roll, which was always weird, but the rich thick chunk of ripe avocado made you forget everything else. This one at Sapporo had equal amounts avocado, crab, and cucumber, which makes it so you taste none of them. I'd love a little more ripe avocado, less cucumber, more crab. It will be a little bigger, but I'm willing pay a little more. Tenzan's included roe on the outside, which we love but know is not standard. They have a lunch menu on this printed menu. Tenzan no longer serves lunch menu specials, so I am excited to explore their lunch specials. And they have a Tatsuya Age lunch, which I will obsess over until I get it.

It was a quiet Sunday afternoon for lunch. Decided on a sushi for appetizer and a rice don bowl for meal. Lunch special had any 2 rolls for $8.95 and they have a spicy scallops roll. It turn out to be a California roll with chopped spicy scallops on top. If I knew, I would not have gotten it as I imagine a spicy tuna roll but with scallops. I don't normally get California roll (not basic) because I also don't know what imitatation crab Kani stick product they are using as I have a crustacean allergy. Some Kani stick is purely fish and some have crab extract in it which I can't have. I wish there menu had more details/informations but most sushi places don't list what is in the rolls and expect you to know it or Google it. But for people with allergies (yes, I know, why eat sushi if I have a crustacean allergy but there are other options for me), we would love to know what is in the dish. Ordered: 2 rolls for $8.95: eel avocado & spicy scallop rolls and a Salmon Eel Don. Lots of rice for don and good portion fish. Zoomed in photo of the spicy scallop sushi showed it was California roll with the chopped spicy scallops on top. Overall, enjoyed my lunch. Would definitely come back to try other dons and noodles.
