I eat here often. I always do take out, but stepping inside the place for the first time, it's really nice looking. Kind and friendly service. I love getting the special rolls. They come with an extra choice of rolls on the side. It can get a bit pricey depending on what you choose, but it's ll well worth it. Some rolls are about $30. But I don't mind paying for quality.

Came for take out. My daughter loved her double portion of California rolls and I loved my gyoza. The staff was super friendly. The gyoza portion was was pretty small; I recommend doubling up. It tasted great, I'd definitely will eat again.

A year into the pandemic and I'm still ordering their lunch specials! Great value, fast service, healthy options, tasty food and beautiful presentation. Love it! I wish they opened a little earlier than 11am though, the kids have lunch at 11am during remote learning! :)

Always delicious and beautiful sushi rolls! Buy one get one specials rolls are such a good deal. And placing a pickup order on father's day was a breeze.

This is your run of the mill sushi spot in the neighborhood. Prime location by the buses and train station. Several blocks away from my old high school haha. Nonetheless, it's good food with decent prices and friendly staff. Their chairs are a bit clunky but comfortable. I don't recall much of their decor besides the chairs. Had a basic order for an impromptu dinner here; spicy salmon and a ginza roll. Also ordered a taro bubble tea which was really good. My friend had a more complex order which I didn't bother to figure out because he simply pointed to the pictures in the menu sooo it should be easy to replicate if you recognize it from my photos lol. If I were in the area more, they'd probably be my go to! I recommend checking it out. I'll try to stop by again and order more interesting menu items, but alas this is all I have for now. They left a good first impression on me and I feel like that counts for something.

Salmon teriyaki Bento box (lunch special comes with salad or soup)

I frequent their sister restaurant that is on Avenue U very often. So I already expected great food and service from Omiya. I ordered for delivery a salmon teriyaki Bento box during their lunch special so it came with a side salad ( you have the choice between a salad and soup). The California roll that came in the bento taste tasted very fresh. I love eating imitation crab. The tempura items included (taro, shrimp, sweet potato, and suimai) were very good. The salmon was a little dry but that might have been because I ordered for delivery.

My maki roll was huge size! Delicious and I can't finish it.

I've been going to this place like for 3 years. Today I came and place my order to go, and parampam --- in like 2 minutes everything was ready! Wow! Great service and super friendly atmosphere there. The only complain;))))))) that my maki rolls was very big size, and I could not finish them. Also I ordered spicy tuna and salmon, and they've been without stupid crunch like many places put non stop(I hate it). But it's amazing that they make really good size of sushi. If I will be in this area, I will definitely come back there.

Horrible place with mediocre sushi. Went in for lunch one weekday and while most restaurants in the area are typically teeming with customers, this place had only 2 other tables occupied. That's the first red flag. Second red flag is the exorbitantly high prices for rolls. The reason, buy one get one "free." This place is a joke, service is nice but the food is subpar at best. Fish is lacking in flavor and pieces are small. Paid for two salmon roe sashimi ala carte and the eggs were not fresh at all. Shriveled and not glossy, they seemed to be a few days old at the least. The kicker? They charged me $1.00 for sriracha in a saucer, you know, like if you go to a reputable restaurant and ask for a condiment. Charged me also $1.00 for spicy mayo served as a condiment. Im surprised my glass of water wasn't $0.25 for the ice and $0.10 for the cup. Credit card machine was down so they took my card number down. Told them I was on a lunch break and I needed to go. They took their time and didn't tell me the machine was down till I got up and walked to the register and asked what was going on they took almost an hour and a half. I wouldn't come here for a free meal let alone pay for one again. Stay away from this place.

Still my favorite sushi spot after all these years! The sushi is always fresh and the price is affordable. I always recommend the lunch menu; 3 rolls for $12.95.

I use to come here for sushi a lot in the past. The place is pretty big and can accommodate large parties. I like their bogo free appetizer and special rolls when dining in. I usually order the sunomono, rock shrimp or Star Wars. I like the sunomono. The quality of the fish is not bad and I like the sauce that's drizzle over it. The rock shrimp and Star Wars are very similar. They are both fried shrimp but with different sauce. The rolls are pretty cheap compared to the city. It runs from $3 and up and they have a good selection of rolls. This is one of the few places that have mango and apple rolls. I like the eel mango roll, tempura rolls, futo maki and Alaskan roll. I order the spicy salmon and tuna sometimes but I prefer their other rolls. From the special rolls I usually get the dragon roll and soft shell crab. Our bill usually comes out to be around $40-$50 for two people and we are always full.

Very good service and the sushi is good. They serve all the basic rolls and they have a wide selection of specialty rolls. I ordered the small tray with tax, it cost about $50. It is enough for two people. The fish and rice ratio is also on point and waitress keeps refilling the tea. Also after we paid the bill they gave complimentary mochi.

Is it the best sushi ever? No. But you get 2 for 1 on the special rolls and they're pretty good.

The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Between the incredibly fresh sushi and the warm hospitality that kept the whole family smiling the entire time, this spot easily earned five stars. We can't wait to come back!

The amount of noodles is decent and the toppings are pretty good the egg actually come with both half's rather than one like some places so that's good, my only gripe is that the cha siu isn't heated through after being served which tells me that they didn't torch it for long enough before serving. That usually also makes it less tender as the middle is still a little coagulated from being chilled prior. I would also assume that chicken broth is less calorie dense than pork so I also felt less guilty drinking it all. The staff is friendly and quick enough with the service and they also have rotation test menu items which is nice but there's a few items on their regular menu they are always out of like their oyster pancake

We have been searching for a Japanese restaurant in our area as a response to the Fall of Tenzan…read more We were looking for a place that can make beef teriyaki, appetizers, and other kitchen items as well as fresh seafood options. I have a tendency to pinpoint the moment that fish transcends from being sashimi-worthy to being sushi-worthy. I also notice imitation crab stick like a sore thumb. When I first opened the package, I was amazed by the smell of the gyoza. They smelled amazing. I can't eat them, but was told they were great. The Miso Soup was in a generous 16 ounce container. It was delicious and clean. The Beef Teriyaki was great. It wasn't undercooked. It wasn't sweet. It had that great grill taste, like a steak. The bed of veggies underneath had that same great grilled taste, and weren't disproportionately cabbage. The dish wasn't drowning in teriyaki and that made it possible to eat every bite. The Sashimi Deluxe was fabulous. The fish was fresh and the serving was ample. Each type of fish was on a shisho leaf upon a bed of daikon, which was nice. I did find one pinbone and one piece had a bit of membrane that should have been trimmed off. These are totally acceptable compared to being served fishy tasting sashimi. There was ample rice included with the doshes, and soy sauce that was dark and strong in 2 ounce containers. The California roll was the only unremarkable item. Tenzan never added cucumber to their California roll, which was always weird, but the rich thick chunk of ripe avocado made you forget everything else. This one at Sapporo had equal amounts avocado, crab, and cucumber, which makes it so you taste none of them. I'd love a little more ripe avocado, less cucumber, more crab. It will be a little bigger, but I'm willing pay a little more. Tenzan's included roe on the outside, which we love but know is not standard. They have a lunch menu on this printed menu. Tenzan no longer serves lunch menu specials, so I am excited to explore their lunch specials. And they have a Tatsuya Age lunch, which I will obsess over until I get it.

I don't normally get California roll (not basic) because I also don't know what imitatation crab Kani stick product they are using as I have a crustacean allergy. Some Kani stick is purely fish and some have crab extract in it which I can't have. I wish there menu had more details/informations but most sushi places don't list what is in the rolls and expect you to know it or Google it. Ordered: 2 rolls for $8.95: eel avocado & spicy scallop rolls and a Salmon Eel Don. Lots of rice for don and good portion fish.
