I love this type of food and it has been my jam lately! Both times I've eaten from here have been great. I've tried the spicy honey chicken hibachi meal which is delicious! Not super spicy but full of flavor. The rice is cooked well and the portion size is good for two meals. I've also had the sushi which was really good! Good enough to rival my favorite sushi spot. I'm troubled to realize that despite having been to Hibachi Master for more than around 10 times for takeout that I've never composed a Yelp for the masses. Let me rectify this right now. So our Bay Ridge Hibachi Master has been in place for a few years now and I guess it's safe to say about 4 but not quite 5 and I apologize for this if I am incorrect. When I stop into the place its to get some takeout and I have never sat in the establishment and dined. These day this is not recommended based on the environment we are in with the pandemic. I always find the place to be clean and the staff behind the cooking counter smiling at the customers. Generally I order two dishes do I can split them up at home and have enough leftovers for another meal a day or do later. My favorites are Bourbon Chicken, Teriyaki Shrimp and Steak and their Spicy Chicken dish. They serve you with white or brown rice and some veggies. I try to stick with the brown rice since its better for you than the white. Two weeks ago when I popped in for something I got a three protein mixture that they offered w Steak, Shrimp and Chicken. It was very, very good. The prices are accomodating and will not break your wallet so if you are nearby and want something other than fast food, you should pay Hibachi Master a visit. read more

The reviews don't lie. This place is terrible. I was skeptical to order from here because the reviews were so bad on Yelp but they had such a high rating on UberEats. The advertisement photo they used on UberEats looked delicious so we said why not just give this place a try? HUGE regrets. We got the chicken wings, spicy shrimp roll, spicy crabmeat roll, chicken teriyaki meal and the hibachi steak meal. The fried chicken wings tasted ok but for $6.99 for 6 small pieces, definitely not worth it. The spicy shrimp roll would've been good but it had this weird ingredient in it that looked and tasted like soggy tempura flakes (see picture). The spicy crabmeat roll was good and spicy but how can you go wrong with making this? We had mixed reviews about the chicken teriyaki meal. The portion was huge but some of the chicken was so dry, the rice was hard and the side of veggies wasn't even cooked. There was barely any teriyaki sauce too. The hibachi steak meal wasn't any better. First off, the presentation is awful (see picture). As soon as we took it out of the bag, we already knew it was bad. The steak was COLD and hard, the rice was hard and the veggies were barely cooked. The steak portion was so small and disappointing for the price we paid. We literally picked out the steak and cooked it ourselves and added more seasoning just to make it taste ok. After dishing out $50+ on this dinner, definitely not ordering from here again. read more

I just got chicken bento box with white rice for the first time & it's the worst food you can imagine... My California roll was soaked in teriyaki sauce. Why?? I had ordered delivery in the past when I used to worked in Dyker Heights with my coworkers-- this was always one of the favorites we would all ordered together for our meal breaks. Came here on 7/9 for lunch because I was in the area. I decided to go inside (first time) and see. Everything is takeouts of course. Very fast and friendly service. There were 2 people ahead of me, one just picked up their order and the other one was still deciding on their food order so I went ahead and ordered first. Got the classic Chicken Teriyaki with white rice and vegetables. I asked for extra sauce. Very reasonable cheap price, delicious and fulfilling. Only waited a few minutes and it was ready. Very delicious fusion of Japanese hibachi and fancy rolls. They prepare everything fresh to order. My meal took about 10 minutes To prepare. I had bourbon chicken with noodles and vegetables, and a black dragon roll with delicious eel and eel sauce. I'd love it that the black dragon roll had hot shrimp tempura inside. Other places pre-cook the shrimp tempura and then it's cold in the rolls. Hibachi master prepares fresh to order, very fair and generous portions especially in today's economy. This place is a must go to for the fast food world of Hibachi. They are super nice and the dishes are just Delicious. I have had all the chicken dishes and my favorite is the honey spicy chicken. Very cheap and delicious! Came here for lunch during my break from rotations and I am so glad I found this place! The place is really clean and the service is really nice and fast! I ordered the Hibachi Steak combo and it came with steak cubes, fried rice and vegetables. The steak was amazing! I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked exactly the way I like it. It was not too rough/dry at all and I love how some of the cubes were slightly chewy. The fried rice was pretty good for the most part but I was not a fan of the vegetables. They're your typical vegetables that you get at places like these: bland and flavorless because there is no sauce to go along with it. I also got a mayo sauce that I think only comes with the hibachi steak order since my friends ordered something else and they did not get the sauce. I tend to give places the benefit of the doubt in having off days so over a six month period, I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki hibachi meal with noodles four times, twice was the white meat only version and twice was the regular version. Their noodles are pretty good but there has not been a single time that easily, way more than half of the chicken was inedible. I don't know if it all has skin on it or it's just overcooked to the point that the outside gets a hard exterior but it's really unfortunate. Half the pieces are chewy rubber that have to be spit out, many others are just hard as a rock. At this point, I've given up and won't order from there again. read more

This is a really bad place to order from. You will be very disappointed. The servings that you receive is not worth the price that you were paying. You will have to pay $15 for a plate of rice with two pieces of chicken. That is not OK I am still hungry. And sad. I will never be ordering from this restaurant again. First impression is quite okay. We were in the neighborhood to shop at Century 21 and TJMaxx so once we were ready to leave, we realized that it would be good to have a portion of sushi before dinner so I checked the reviews on Yelp and we walked in seeing 4 stars rating. Some people does not like the smell of sushi places including my brother but since this is a more grilled type of food place, it did not have the smell at all. It is a plus. We ordered a portion California and Tempura shrimp, each 8 pieces. Took about 10 minutes to be ready. Usually it is quicker at other sushi spots but it is okay. The tempura part of the shrimp was not the best I tried. I guess the oil was over used. Avacados were a bit undergrown. They have a screen facing to the street showing their grill and how they cook so this is good for hygiene matters you may have in mind. I was impressed at the size of the portions and just overall quality. I happened to be in this part of town, Bay Ridge and got the Chicken Teriyaki. It was kind of more amazing than I thought it would be. Nice cabbage to go along with it and plain fried rice. It was well worth the $6 or 7 it cost. There was another type of chicken that was on special it was $4.99. Maybe try that next time, I don't know if I would get the sushi here though. Most people that seemed to come inside were only getting the specials like I got. The space is definitely ample and it's not too far from the subway & near the Century 21 in Bay Ridge. You can hang out here & not get hassled by anyone but I wasn't really a fan of the food. My meal was free with a birthday promo but the rice and salad were probably better for me than the chicken (though I like teriyaki chicken). It did feel like mall food court type food, which isn't my thing but there was ample seating, it was clean and wasn't a packed madhouse.
