Sashimi with 1 California roll (comes with miso soup)
Ames C.

I always passed by this place but never got a chance to try their menu until now. This was late in the evening when I ordered my take-out of sashimi with one California roll that came with miso soup. Their prices were reasonable. Their sashimi were fresh but their California roll was okay (I may have gotten the last bit of rice because it was a bit dry/hard). Their miso soup is standard. The staff was friendly and was willing to alternate our order to accommodate our needs. This place is a bit small but you can still dine in if you want. However it looks like it's more geared for take-outs and I do not see a bathroom for customers. Pro-tip: They only accept cash

Came here to order takeout. Order was quick and ready in 15 minutes. Ordered sashimi/sushi platter and the fish were all pretty fresh and decent. Fancy rice was loaded with a bunch of different things (salmon, sauces, avocado,,etc) and it tasted pretty good. Oyster was fresh and they pack it on top of ice so it stays cold even when u take it home. Prices aren't bad and order was ready fairly quick. It's a good place to order decent takeout from

My favorite late night sushi spot whenever I am in Brooklyn. They have the best quality sushi/special rolls for the price. 5 special rolls + 2 regular rolls + 16 sushi for only $67.99!!! Highly recommend this hidden gem to everybody Volcano roll Fancy salmon roll Fancy eel roll Spicy lobster American roll Yellow tail roll Salmon avocado roll

Came on a Friday night around 7pm and it was pretty much empty. A majority of their business is from take out. The main reason we wanted to eat in was to try the oysters, which were delicious! We also got the fancy salmon roll and spicy white fish roll. Even though they were different fish, I couldn't really tell the difference because there was a lot of sauce on top. The spicy mayo was good but next time I will request less sauce on top.

Priced higher than most local spots. Food is good but expensive. Fresh fish and a decent assortment. I always opt for the trays with multiple sashimi and rolls. They didn't disappoint. Delivery was quick and prompt and they take credit cards.

Love this spot for sushi in the area. The sushi is always fresh! Highly recommend to order their fresh clams and their house party trays are good especially for sharing.

Party tray c $50

East sushi Bistro is a small sushi take out spot right off of Avenue U. They are always busy and the sushi here is usually fresh. The prices for my usual go to went up by $5. The party tray A is now about $40 and it comes with two miso soup. The soup is great with mini cubes of tofu and seaweeds. Very delicious special rolls. Tiger roll has shrimp and avocado in it and my favorite bay roll which is deep fried with cream cheese and salmon fish and avocado. The wasabi they use is weird and is neon green. The wait time is about 20 minutes.

Good lunch deal of $10.50 plus tax for 3 rolls & miso soup. I opted for spicy yellowtail, spicy tuna w avocado (no cream cheese for me) and the salmon roll. The spicy fish were a bit mayoey and and bit mushy. They were generous on the avocado and the salmon roll was good. The rice was vinegary- nice, a bit gummy. A pint of soup. Decent deal for a quick pickup.

special roll combo (subbed dragon roll for volcano roll)

This is my go to sushi spot when I want special rolls. Unfortunately, they are not open on Tuesdays. I normally order a platter when I'm with a group of people. They have a maki party (10 regular rolls) for $40 which is great to share amongst a few friends. If I want to treat myself, I would get the special combo roll and switch out one of the rolls and pay the difference. My favorite roll is the volcano roll. The volcano roll is only 6 pieces but they are huge. The texture and flavor of the eel avocado & squid mix is to die for!! Definitely recommend for your future parties!

stopped by here 2 days before Thanksgiving to order a sushi platter to pick up on Thanksgiving Day. The restaurant itself is small with just a few tables. It seems more like a take out place but I've seen people dining in before. We ordered a platter, mixed and matched the rolls, and the chef chooses the sashimi assortment. They did ask for the entire payment when I placed the order and gave me a receipt for pick up. Prior to placing the order, I hadn't eaten here before but our family friends had recommended them. They were also the only sushi place near me that was going to be open on Thanksgiving Day. My mom and I ended up getting a couple of rolls to try later that day - spicy tuna and ginza roll. I loved the sushi to rice ratio (less rice). Fish was also fresh. My sister helped pick up the platter but it was ready on time, and everyone loved the sushi. There were no leftovers. We actually devoured the entire platter fairly quickly. I would definitely come back.

I ordered the sashimi regular! Very delicious and fresh, especially the salmon and the striped bass
Jessica W.

I love this place! My first time here after living in the area for years! I fell in love with the striped bass sashimi As an avid sushi lover who regularly eats sushi in Sheepshead Bay, I can immediately tell that the fish served here is fresh. It melted in my mouth and it tasted very delicious! The wasabi here is also great and the miso soup was really yummy. I will definitely be coming here again for their party dishes!

My husband had the kaishin don, I had the Ozakaya donburi set and our girls shared the shoyu tonkatsu ramen. The fish was so incredibly fresh here and the rice was seasoned perfectly. My donburi set also came with dashi broth that the waitress later brought over to pour on top of the leftover rice in my bowl to be enjoyed at the end of the meal. The broth and rice combination was really comforting and satisfying. This dish was something I wanted to try in Japan but did not get a chance to experience when there, so I was excited to try it at Ozakaya. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ramen here as well. Although the pork could have been better/more tender, the broth was rich and seasoned so well and not too salty like other places. Last but not least, the service here was excellent and efficient. I would definitely come back here the next time I visit Brooklyn as there were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try!

This place is super popular and I get why. It was packed but the service was insanely quick and efficient, which I appreciated. We shared the chirashi (9/10) and a spicy tuna roll (7/10) and it was honestly more than enough food for both of us. The sashimi is chef's choice so you're getting whatever's freshest that day. Overall, the quality was excellent. A couple of pieces were a little on the flavorless side, but nothing that ruined the experience. I'd still give it a solid 9/10 and would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

Lots of people came in and out for takeout orders so that seems to be more of the target audience. Service was quick and polite, we were there until 9:30 and they definitely seemed ready for us to be out of there before the 10PM closing time. As for the specialty rolls, there were some pretty creative options - don't shy away from seemingly odd combinations because the flavors really do work well together. I appreciated the rice:fish ratio on all the rolls, the rice was a thin layer letting the flavor of the other ingredients really come through. The plain spicy tuna roll on the other hand was filled with spicy tuna mixed with something crunchy - maybe puffed rice? It seemed to be an unnecessary filler, I would have preferred just fish. I enjoyed the Lovers Dream and Golden Sunset roll the most. While I was debating it while ordering, in hindsight I would definitely get two rolls per person, maybe more if you're really hungry.

I saw the strong Yelp reviews and decided to take the leap with a pickup order. We ordered two specialty rolls and a spicy tuna roll. The restaurant itself is smaller than I expected, so I'm glad we opted for takeout. The staff was super friendly, and we only waited a few minutes while they completed our order. The Mystic Dragon roll was the standout for me-absolutely delicious. It had a variety of textures that gave it a great mouthfeel. I think this was my favorite of the three. All the flavors complemented each other beautifully. The strawberry sauce was unexpected but surprisingly worked! I love unique flavor combinations, and this one did not disappoint. The Torched King roll was also excellent. Salmon is my go-to for sushi, and the light torching gave it a subtle smoky flavor that I loved. The yuzu chili sauce added a nice kick--really flavorful and well-balanced. The Spicy Tuna roll was a classic and, of course, delicious. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. I think I just found my new go-to sushi spot in the neighborhood!
