So back here again for dinner with my parents. Today got the Brooklyn Bridge, Okinawa and some sushi. Brooklyn Bridge comes with a dragon roll and 2 soups/salads. The sashimi was ok according to my dad because he felt they were cheaper quality of the fish (salmon, yellowtail, tuna, spanish mackerel). I thought the dragon roll had too much cucumber. The Okinawa was delicious - salmon, yellowtail, tuna and masago (don't really care for this) surrounded by a nice amount of avocado with spicy mayo and chef's sauce drizzled all over. This was very yummy and nicely priced for the size. We also had eel sushi, which my mother felt was small - but really these days, that's how small they come. The uni (jumbo) was fine, but to expensive at $4/piece and made my father question quality of the "regular" uni that was $3. I had an ikura maki which i liked, but didn't like that, of course, the only roll that I wanted was more expensive marked up handwritten style ($3.75 instead of the $2.75 for other rolls and ALL rolls marked up from $2.50 to $2.75). I also ordered the fried ice cream. Total 180 from the first time I got it. It was lovely and crispy and so yummy! This time it tasted like the green tea ice cream was shoved into Chinese sponge cake. Not what I wanted or expected and made me kick myself for not getting just plain green tea ice cream. Overall the food was decent, but little things here and there make me sad about how the quality of things in general have gone down while prices have gone up. read more

I had a decent experience here. We ordered a lot of yummy sushi - but my favorites were the ebi tempura roll and the pink lady roll. I also got the kani roll - which was just eh. It was literally just kani stick with rice. I should have asked for some avocado or just got a cali roll. Service was good. But the waitress just kind of stares at you while you're eating, which is uncomfortable since I suck at eating sushi. For dessert we had mango mochi, green tea mochi and strawberry mochi. = Heaven. One of my favorite sushi places in the neighborhood.. and considering how many there are around 86th street that's actually saying something. I have eaten at the place and have also gotten take out on a regular basis. The place is really nice looking. It's very pretty inside and there are these cozy booths that have very comfortable seats and are very roomy. It's both a good group place and a good private date place in my opinion. The waitresses are all incredibly sweet. They always smile and greet you. The sushi I've had here has always been fresh and delicious. They also have the tako (octopus) roll which is something I have not seen elsewhere. The usual rolls (including the tako) are $2.50. Now the main reason for the review is their pineapple fried rice. It comes served inside a real pineapple half! It is simply amazing with lots of pieces of pineapple inside. Its also a big portion. This is one of my go to sushi place in the neighborhood. It's a small place so sometimes the wait is a bit. The Okinawa was delicious. My husband and I get that every time we go. Pretty average sushi place. But then again, in a neighborhood where there are 2-3 sushi restaurants on every block, it's hard to stand out! The rolls here are pretty cheap ($2.75/regular roll) but they do have more expensive special rolls. I ended up paying $6 for two regular rolls which I find very reasonable. I got the white tuna and the spicy tuna and thought that both of them were ok. Not bad but not outstanding. Very average. This is a small, cozy, casual sushi spot. We were extremely lucky that one of the 2 lovely wooden booths was empty and felt like VIPs sitting there. It's draped with curtains and has cute pillows on the seats, very comfortable. Food is good but service to Minorities or Black People Is horrible the first time I ordered over the phone they gave good customer service but when I went to pick up the food I was greeted as if I didn't belong in there I shook off the uncomfortable feeling and decided to order from them again but this time in person and the second time I went I was greeted with the same stares so I decided to stand out side and wait for my food....the gentleman brought me my food and handed it to me with his back turned to me as I was polite to Say thank you he basically did not want a thank you. As much as I enjoyed the food I could shake the feeling of me being treated as such so no I would not recommend anyone to go there if you love sushi like I do and are not Asian. We spontaneously chose to have lunch here even though we're picky about our food and experiences. The bathroom was extremely clean which is great considering you're in NY where most of the time you don't see a clean BR. The server was very polite, take into consideration we're not loyal customers or locals of the area. I had the Chicken Katsu bento lunch special ($11 during lunch hours) I loved it! It was perfectly crispy, thoroughly cooked, not tough to bite off and they added a good amount of salt not too much or too little. Ive had an opposite experience in other locations through out the city. My friend had the Lobster Teriyaki and they enjoyed it. We were both full before we could finish all of it so towards the end we took our time eating. This is THE place for me to get sushi. It's fresh. Regular Sushi rolls are $2.50. Unlike other sushi places with $2.50 rolls, they have unique rolls such as Spicy Kani, Crunchy Scallop (highly recommended rolls, btw) The big rolls are buy one get one half off. Some of my favorites include Spider Rolls (haha..made of soft shell crab) and Dragon rolls. I'm looking forward to trying the other special rolls. It's too bad that I moved from Bensonhurst. This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant but I feel over the years the quality went down unfortunately. Me and my friends would all come and sometimes get the sushi combos for each of us or they had the sushi combo which was like a platter for two or more. The prices where always reasonable. The last time I ate here I got the Alaskan roll, eel avocado roll, California roll and some sushi pieces. The amount of avocado they put in the rolls is way to much. I'm not a big fan on avocado and in there rolls that's all I can taste. I feel they should put more of the fish than the avocado because it's WAY to over powering. I also got sushi pieces with that which those tasted fine to me. I usually like to get eel, octopus, squid, tuna and salmon. This place is terrible. I was originally going to give it two stars out of decency, but I need to tell the truth. I was told that this place has half-off sushi, which intrigued me (given my budget). But now I understand why. The rolls were made very sloppy to the point they were squished and falling apart. The "fish" inside each piece was smaller than a tic-tac. To top it off, something about the sushi just didn't taste right. Lo and behold -- my suspicions about the quality of the sushi were proven true. Upon leaving the place, I was struck with the most excruciating stomach pain. I just feel like they used 15-20% less of what the food should've been. 2) Food was not that fresh. Wasn't stale, but def wasn't super fresh. 3) Food was delivered pretty quick! Lady said 30 minutes, but came in 20..that could mean several things. Either the chefs were just that good at speed, or not enough care was put into it. Well, what can I say? It's cheap. I didn't expect to come back here at all but I did , My brothers and sister took me here for dinner for my birthday last month. The sushi is pretty decent it's not mushy or disgusting. It actually tasted pretty good. Even my aunt that doesn't really like eating sushi likes the sushi here. The food presentation was was very neat. The service here is amazing. The waitress sat us down gave us enough time to look at the menu and came back to took our order. She would come back once in a while to check on us to see if the food was okay and to see if we needed anything. The price here is pertty decent not bad at all. Pretty decent sushi spot, especially if you are able to get a table for 4 on Saturday night at 8pm. My meal consisted of the Aged Chicken - Nice deep fried chopped chicken nuggets. Very Good Sashimi Regular - Very Good. Had a assortment of 16 pieces of Sashimi - Salmon, Tuna, Fluke, Sea Bass. The presentation of the sashimi deluxe was a little over the top with a champagne glass in the middle of the plate held down with wasabi. Overall a pleasant experience and pretty reasonable. The bill for all 4 including dessert was 70 dollars. Would definitely try again and try more of the extensive menu. :) read more

I came here on a whim with a friend to get my very first love boat. They had a Brooklyn Bridge for two and a love boat for three. I had to get the love boat solely because of the name. The food was good. I'm going to be honest here and say that i am definitely not a foodie. As long as the sushi is mediocre, anything above that goes unnoticed by me. And I am happy to say that this place was at least mediocre.The love boat was the only thing we order since it was for three and we only had two people. The reason for the dearth of stars is solely on the shoulders of a single waitress. Petty, I know, but let me explain. This place is run by Chinese people, and my friend and I are Chinese. They were very nice to us, especially a the waitress with short hair. The other waitress (one with long hair), was serving mostly the other tables. The first thing I hear from her as I came in was her arguing with another customer about the tempura sauce. After she was done, she berated them in a loud voice about how these people were stupid because they thought the tempura sauce was oil. This continued with all of the customers who were not Chinese. Even with who seemed like regular, she complained about how much work and how many things he had asked her to bring when only eating a single roll. For me the worst thing is when someone is laying to me to take my money . They lied about taking out the shrimp tampura from our bill . It was a very bad , doughy shrimp That we didn't eat . The two waiters said they can't change it and it's not on our bill but it was !! When I told them they said no it's free with the box ... but I paid for the whole box with the tampura how it could be free ?! For us it's 15$ but for them , it's more we spended our birthdays there and special things because it's so close to our house .
