I don't live in NY, but I produced a Harry Potter event in NY a few years ago and lived up there for about half a year. I-84 Diner was one of my favorite stops for overwhelmingly hearty breakfasts or delicious dinners, along with everything in between. And good cookies and pastries and cakes, too! Staff is attentive, it's good the awesome diner vibe, and it's overall a really solid choice for a meal by yourself or when enjoying food with friends.

Server Ashley was the best - a warm smile, kind demeanor, and excellent service. I will request her in the future. Food was HUGE and delicious . My only complaint was my reuben came open faced - Not my favorite, but now I know. It still tasted really good! I've been coming to this diner for 40 years. Never had a bad meal...

This textbook-looking diner sits right off I-84, appropriate name, right? It's huge and has a large parking lot to match. They are not open 24 hours though, closing between 9-10 PM depending on the day. In true diner fashion, the menu is a beast! For those who are very indecisive, you might want to add a couple of extra minutes to study the options. I ordered the mac & cheese burger ($17.99) since it was a more unique burger offering. I-84 burgers are 1/2 pounders consisting of a short rib brisket and chuck blend, in a grilled bun. I selected salad for my side, and I was pleased that it came out first since I was quite hungry. Part of my curiosity was reading on the menu how their mac & cheese was "famous" and used a three cheese combo. Well, the mac & cheese did not disappoint. Much of it had fallen off the burger but no matter. It had a great gooey but smooth texture and was fantastically cheesy. Look for the mac & cheese section on the jumbo menu for more offerings. Along with the menu, the portions are also mammoth. Our server and the cashier were very friendly. The restrooms were tidy. There's a discount if you pay by cash. Glad to have tried I-84 Diner!

    Bacon Mac-n-Cheese!

Bacon mac-n-cheese was AMAZING. We had Kayla as our server and she was super polite, and dealt with the horrible dad jokes my dad was making, the outside and inside of the whole place looked great, %100 would recommend, also the french dip was so good, portion sizes are HUGE so do expect to have leftovers

After a long drive from the Island, and a storm of biblical proportions, didn't feel like cooking; this is our go-to restaurant. Had a roast beef sandwich on rye. There must've been at least a half a pound of roast beef in there! See the photo. Service is always prompt. The place is always clean and inviting. I'm not a dessert person, but their pastries are eye-catching.

A memorable bite of nostalgia with a generous portion of hospitality is the only proper way to describe the I-84 Diner. Our family has travelled all over the U.S., being fortunate to have dining experiences from Disney to the Grand Hotel, so our standard of comparison is high. From "Eye of the Tiger" playing in the background, to the on point mid-century furnishings, to the massive menu and front dessert display it made us forget 2026 exists! Most importantly, the service from our waitress Tina C. - who seemed able to make every guest feel like a welcome friend while keeping those plates moving - was truly one-of-a-kind! Clean, efficient and warm, it even satisfied a 17-year-old after a long day's haul in the car. Save your money and skip fake dining at places like like Disney. Visit this diner instead and enjoy an unforgettable serving of authenticity!

Came here withy my brothers and dad on the day after Black Friday. We found the staff to be friendly, the service to be quick, and the food was fresh and delicious. My dad was impressed with the salad with all the different mixed greens (not just romaine), my brother wished his Nutella waffle was just a tad more cooked, and I loved my buffalo chicken wrap! I subbed ranch for blue cheese and was impressed with the crunchy chicken and the cooked wrap. If this was closer to home, I would absolutely come back!

However, it was still delicious and satisfying. My husband got the avocado toast which was SUPER filling due to the hummus that was on it. He was only able to finish half of it. We also got a side order of fruit which, to my delight, was a bowl of berries! The fruit is seasonal so the combination might be different depending on what time of year you are visiting. Also, both of our coffees met our standards, which are a bit high these days. So kudos to them on that! The ambiance was absolutely incredible!!! Very well lit with a bright, welcoming atmosphere. We sat near the back of the restaurant (away from all windows), however we still felt like we were being flooded with sunlight. It was wonderful! The Bee's Knees cocktail wasn't for me. It was way too sour. That said, I think that's more on me for ordering it than the drink itself since it's meant to have that flavor profile. The shrimp scampi was easily the best dish we ordered. So good. Make sure to dip the baguette into the buttery shrimp sauce. If you're sharing, I'd recommend ordering extra bread because you'll definitely want it. The garlic parmesan wings were excellent. We also tried the blackberry BBQ wings. I didn't really care for that flavor combination but I'm still glad I gave them a shot. Both flavors had big meaty wings that were cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese was really good. Definitely more of an elevated version with a lot going on. I enjoyed it but it was a little too fancy for the kiddo who prefers a simpler mac and cheese. The chicken tenders were very basic and the fries that came with them were pretty weak. We also ordered the garlic parmesan truffle fries which were much better than the regular fries, even if they weren't anything special. The lemonade was also too sour for my taste. We ended up adding sugar ourselves and after that it was much better. Overall, we had a good meal. The shrimp scampi and garlic parmesan wings were the clear standouts, service was friendly, and the atmosphere made for an enjoyable experience. I'd come back, but I'd definitely order differently next time.

My husband ordered a sandwich of his own (although I can't remember which one) and he was equally pleased. We also ordered a side of tots which were crispy and salty, just how I like them! My husband and I definitely could've shared one sandwich as we both don't eat a lot in one sitting, so this is something to keep in mind if you're reading this before your first visit here!! When everyone arrived we all got seated inside and the vibes were immediately off. When we finally got her attention, she just told us "someone will bring it to you soon," when she literally could've just grabbed a few and hand them to us. At this point we were about to leave, but stayed because we were all starving. This happened throughout our meal, we had to ask for water and cups multiple times and even got dirty plates sent to us, which we then asked if we could get newer ones. Not sure if it was because we were the only POC in the room, but we felt like this treatment was targeted specifically at us since everyone else in the place was attended to in a timely, friendly manner. The food was okay and took a while to come out. I got the crab cake benedict and there wasn't much flavor to it. The potatoes were also soggy. The saving grace was probably the banana foster french toast. Overall, we definitely felt unwanted there and would not return solely because of the service.
