This experience was less than stellar. We went to this establishment (there were 10 of us) and we were seated outside. It was cold and we asked to go inside. We were told that they had a party of 30. We understood because we had a large party as well. We were there about an hour before we got our food. We were not given refills on our drinks. We were not even asked if we needed a refill. The food was not that good especially for what we paid and the automatic gratuity that was added. We had to find her to get our to-go boxes AND our checks. When we got our checks they were wrong. We had to wait another 15-20 minutes in order to get the checks straightened out. This was not the outing that we imagined. To top it off, the party of 30 never showed up! read more

Best blackened gator tail around!!! That about sums up why I/we repeat our visits here, but I guess I need to say more. The staff is always friendly and you are normally seated quickly. However, if you go on the nights when they have a popular band playing...you may have a wait or need to sit outside. They do take reservations and accept reservations through Open Table. Some days (like some Thursdays) I highly suggest you make a reservation if you go after 5pm. That said, this is where the local's go. It sits back off the road and in the same area as the Marina. If you are just driving along you wouldn't know it was there. If you are trying to find it...use may want to use your GPS the first time you go. As stated, they do have the best blackened gator tail around. If you've never tried gator before then this is the place to try it. If you've had it before and didn't like it...then give it another go here...it's simply delicious! We do have a tendency to order appetizers here...and beer! All the appetizers are all pretty good, but now we have our favorites. There is a little bit of everything on the menu for seafood lovers and those who don't love seafood. Please don't miss their daily specials that aren't on the menu...they always prove to be good. On the menu I personally like the crab cakes. When they have a Lobster boil it's awesome too. And the potatoes that are in the lobster boil I think they should put on their menu as a side dish. It's just boiled potatoes, but they are cooked with the lobster and butter and take on that flavor...so good! The atmosphere is pretty cool...it's just a chillin' type of place. There is an outdoor bar on the water as well. From the inside window seats and the bar in back outside you have a view of a little bit of everything there from the marina, water, St. Augustine, the college to even what looks like a power plant. Tonight a huge group of us met for our High School Reunion. This venue was chosen for one of our dinner locations. it has a casual atmosphere and large bar area. Our sweet waitress arrived to take our order but wrote nothing down. When the order started arriving she had forgotten to put in one of our orders. Our other friend asked for no Brussels Sprouts and ordered broccoli. His order came with them and when we finally got help, they said they were out of broccoli. He asked for a salad instead which finally came when his meal was finished. The service was not very good. My chowder, oysters and steamers were great. My husbands shrimp as was another guests were over cooked! The scallops were perfect. It looks like this venue has some improvements needed with their chef and servers. read more

We were on our way to St Augustine fort and came here as the traffic was bad. We had Bloody Mary's to start which was great and then had a grilled tuna sandwich with fries which I thought was great. Wife had gator bites and veggies and liked it. It's a cool place on the water for lunch and have a full bar inside . Give it a go when in the area. read more

Our experience here was not the most pleasant experience, the website made it look 10x better than it is. The hostess had a beer at her station nice touch, most of the waitresses were very unorganized running around with only 9 tables and four working seemed kind of chaotic. Their menu has quite a few choices but ended up picking an item they dont have anymore but still on their menu. We ordered the crab dip appetizer was a bad choice it was very bland and tasted like it just came out of the can. We sent it back they took it off no problem. Then we had our entrees come and we had blackened crab cakes and a fried shrimp basket. The fried shrimp were actually pretty good but the crab cakes also came out like crab cake soup very mushy almost to the point of gagging. This stop actually turned out to be better than I expected. We were looking for a place for lunch on a rainy day, and my husband thought he spied a place on the water. I thought he was crazy, but the next thing you know, there we were. It wasn't very busy so we had time to chat with our server, who was really nice. We asked her about the datil peppers we saw on various places menus and hot sauces in stores because I am a big pepper and hot sauce fan and I had not seen datils before. Apparently they are grown in north Florida and they are not super hot. Well, I had to have me some datil goodness so I ordered wings in mango datil sauce (they are not that hot, more medium) and Minorcan clam chowder because it was a red based chowder. Both were delicious! Like I said, the datil is not that hot. On the menu they give it 4 peppers, but I would say it is more like a 2.5. Still, the flavor was good. My husband got a giant hot dog. They are not lying when they say it giant, it could feed two people. It was grilled and very good. I can see this as being a very good place to go when the weather is nice because it is right on the sound and you can look out over the water. Also, they were setting up a stage inside so it looks like they were planning on having live music later that night. Good was delicious and service was great. We had some of the best coconut shrimp ever. I highly recommend ordering a Miami vice, sitting on the deck, and throwing back some raw oysters. There are so many dining options in the area, it's hard to pick. This place has a little of everything. Hurricane shrimp was amazing (large portion too) and the fish and chips were the best we've ever had. The sundown salmon was also one of the best we've ever had, and we loved the seafood pasta. The rice with the salmon was amazing and stands great on its own, rather than being a plate filler like most other rice sides we've had. Nice area with water view at San Sebastián River. Although they do not at the sunset view, but they are pleasant enough dinning at the water. The restaurant are famous on the seafood. Their best sellers are the broil lobster with garlic sauce. They lobster is about 2 pound. It is lay over the potatoes and veggies in the garlic sauce. We also got the daily special with honey glaze salmon. It accompanied with sauté mixed veggies and mash potatoes. The both dish is prepared fresh. It is almost 4 stars on my review. However, we saw a sticker in the tomato that was not remove. Usually you don't see on other veggies, but tomatoes sticker label are tougher to remove. An obvious miss from the people who prepared it. Though we all had reservations, I arrived at Hurricane Patty's with a group of 44. So, naturally the service was somewhat slower but all considered they did a very good job of it and I certainly wouldn't deduct any points on it. As I had never had Pangasius fish before, I ordered that. Pangasius is a fresh water fish sometimes confused with a variant based up farm raising location callled Basa. It's a less expensive fish, sort of flavorless, not one of the better of fish but of a decent texture. However, when served, my plate was not exactly eye appealing. It contained a rather stiff overcooked filet of Pangasius atop a pile of mushy white rice sided by some mushy overcooked to the point of flavorless skinned carrots. From what I had I can't say the food amounted to much and neither did my Marker's Mark bourbon Manhattan. So, I certainly wouldn't go here for the food, but what will bring me back her is the locations and the setting. Being right smack on the water in a bay, the marina views are relaxing and picturesque. The rustic décor of the Hurricane Patty's also adds to a distinctively pleasant overall atmosphere. read more

Eh... it's an old place and it feels that way. We sat at hee bar and had an app and a drink. Nothing special. I got the key lime mojito. When I asked if it was good the bartender said "I guess if you like keg lime" so I don't think he was up for recommending anything. We ordered the shrimp which sounded like bang bang shrimp. It was okay BUT super saucy. We ate a couple ans called it quits. They have an automatic dishwasher at rhe bar and as it emptied the air smelled horrible. Pretty sure the drains need cleaned. We get there and we were told it would be about an hour wait. Ok that's fine. We find a place to sit down and wait it out. It was probably about 40 min later were told a table was ready. We sat on the deck facing the parking lot. Immediately we both noticed the stench. It smelled like a mix of stagnant water and garbage. It was terrible, but whatever. I just wanted to get the crab dip I had been craving. Our waitress came over and took our drink order- 2 diet Cokes. She comes back and puts them down and said "oh f**k 1 of those is regular. Figure it out" and walked away We were sitting there like is she serious? She comes back to take our order. We order the crab dip and hand her back the regular Coke and ask for diet. She starts cussing about the soda mix up. She is so mad at herself and just swearing up a storm. She walks away. Never comes back with a diet. We try to get her attention and she won't stop she just keeps saying "oh f**k; that's right! Diet!!" She brings us the crab dip and takes our order. I got the crab cakes and my husband got the seafood boil. Again we ask for a diet and she starts swearing some more.... I mean it's ridiculous how she's talking. But I won't say anything because servers control the food and I'm afraid... very afraid to make the server mad. Lol Anyway we finally got the diet after many more requests and many more cuss words. Then the food came and then the disappointment really set in. My crab cake was the most god awful thing I've ever tried to eat. 2 bites in and I said I can't force myself to eat this! It's so terrible!! My husband said you think that's bad taste mine. Omg his seafood boil was absolutely awful. The shrimp were rubbery and over cooked. Everything in it was tasteless and over cooked. We tried a few times to get the waitress but she'd just walk past, look at us and cuss and keep moving. Only time she stopped was to get the check and by that point we were both ready to go. I've never experienced such god awful service I've never had a server cuss ever! I've never dealt with anyone as unprofessional as this woman. I wouldn't go back here for anything. Between the terrible food and the server it's a no from me. Although the crab dip was really good, I will give them that. Even my 1 star is questionable. I felt like someone was playing a trick on Kel and I at this rust bucket. Water, absolutely not. A toddler had to be scooping it from toilets in the bathroom. Mixed drinks, hopefully the alcohol content killed all the other bacteria. Our waiter was WONDERFUL. God save his soul from that place. My CRAB cakes were pinkish-gray. It was inedible. Awful. From the ignorant bartender who asked me loudly before I sat down at the outdoor bar, "What are you drinking on?" To the obviously frozen and tasteless fried "hurricane shrimp" my experience was awful. When I was asked, "what are you drinking on?" I responded that, "I am not drinking ON ANYTHING, but will sit here." The bartender rolled her eyes and sarcastically asked, "ok, so what would you like to drink?" She could have started that way. Our seating outside was fine and the service was exceptional for a busy time.I ordered the "catch of the day", Pompano and my husband ordered grouper. BOTH FISH PRESENTATIONS WERE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Neither appeared to be fresh caught seafood, my pompano was a perfect rectangle shape, less than 1/4 inch thick and grilled into a dry, tough plank...:lemon and tartar sauce couldn't save it...the grouper was very similar, my husband a lifelong grouper fan, did not feel the fish presented to him was even grouper!! We did find our appetizers (shrimp and wings) ok. All in all we would go back to Hurricane Patty's for an afternoon of bar food and drinks with good music outside ...
