It's a Old Florida kind of place on the water, adjacent to a marina. We had made reservations through Open Table, but we really didn't need them. The place was empty, except for the bar. We were greeted and seated immediately. The drink orders were taken by our very kind waitress. The beer was tasty and I enjoyed the Hurricane drink. I thought the Seafood Chowder Soup Cup was excellent. We both enjoyed the Grouper Sandwiches. The Onion Rings were a hit, and while the Sweet Potato Fries were good, I like the regular fries more. We walk up and it feels like no one is there because it's so quiet. This is an excellent time for a Saturday afternoon. The hostess greeted and seated us immediately. Our server was Jill. Friendly, attentive and talkative. 3 good qualities to possess when serving others. Hubby ordered appetizers, fried pickles and clam chowder New England soup. We chose frozen Pina Colda and Yeungling for drinks. Main course was of course my Gator Tails. John had the Poke bowl with seared tuna, black beans, white rice and it sat on a bed of lettuce. The drizzle topping with seeds just made it more edible. Hubby says it was delicious. I say quietly enjoying the fresh, crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside- Gator Tails. I didn't care for the sauce. I could taste the jalapeños too well. That made it spicy. I ate the Gator Tails the way they came. The inside scene was hustling with folks watching the golf tournament. Decent restaurant by the water! Had a bite here before going to the marina for a nighttime boat ride. The pain killer was a table favorite and was pretty good. I got the wings (forgot to take a pic!) and they were nice and meaty with spice. Could have used more vegetables as I only got 2 celery sticks and 1 carrot. We have gone to Hurricane Patty's a number of times and the experience has been pretty consistent. We have enjoyed the food. My go to is the fish and chips. Prices have slightly risen as to be expected. We do love the view of the water. We were hoping for some live music, but found out they don't do it very much anymore. We love hanging out at the tiki bar, listening to music, and then sitting down to eat. Our waitress, Amanda was very sweet. She was attentive and knowledgeable about items on the menu and the specials. She was great with our kids too! I appreciated that she took her time with our table, not feeling rushed, but also didn't feel like we were waiting a long time for anything. She was a great server! read more

I am a brand new customer and met a friend there for an early dinner at 430 pm on Nov 29. The Christmas lights inside were so cute and festive. It was cool that it is a place that is old Florida. A simple fish place. It is neat that from every window you see baits marked in the marina and a bait ramp near the entrance of the restaurant. We were sat quickly and ordered soup. My dinner partner got lukewarm soup. We flagged down Jaymie to let her know that it needed to be warmed up. When it came back-it was in the same bowl as you could see the black bean soup scorched on the edge of the bowl. It should have been a fresh bowl not microwaved. My friend said it was good but I feel it should have been comped or the manager should have come over to apologize but this is a rustic spot and maybe that isn't done here? My Minorcan soup was delish but the potatoes could have been softer. I got a to go of fish and chips for my hubby. He said the fish was really good and even at home 20 min later it was still crispy. The fish came out fast. The fries are a typical frozen fry variety. The hush puppies were in the dry side and lacked seasoning. Me and my gf went to this place on a whim, google had listed them with 4.6 stars. She wanted to eat some clam chowder while I wanted a burger. So once there the only thing on the menu was Granny's Meat Loaf. My gf clam chowder was awesome in her words, but my meatloaf was anything but horrid. It was pieces of hamburger patties mixed with mashed potatoes and topped with mushrooms. The mushrooms were not fresh, seemed canned, and had a pungent wine flavor, the meat was ok, but the garlic mashed potatoes tasted bland, and my gf said it tasted metallic to her. Most meatloafs I've ever eaten is well a loaf, and not precut up like this mess of a meal was. My meal was removed from the check, the service was awesome, the ambiance near the ocean was nice. Just do yourself a favor and stick with seafood and your probably going to be ok. ps: I was a cook for 23 years in both california and las vegas, and no way the meatloaf was an oops. Ambiance - looks old, outdated and rundown. When it rains there are a bunch of tables that are soaking wet. It was drier to sit outside on the patio then it was inside at a booth during a heavy rain storm. Service - The service was good both times we ate here. They could have come around a bit more often on all you can eat crab, but we only had to wait 5 minutes or so each time. So decent service but not outstanding. Food - Most of the items we ordered were not very good or just plain awful. I don't know why Managers don't sample the food. The grits with smoked gouda cheese is horrible and I don't think there was any gouda in it. It seemed like cheddar cheese but either way it tasted bad. The crab dip not edible. The Hurricane shrimp was ok but didn't match the description on the menu. Tai Chili sauce has a completely different flavor than the ones I had. They were ok just not what was described. Drinks - They have a signature cocktail called the Espresso Martini. I ordered it the first time we went there, and they told me they were out of coffee liquor. Went back 5 days later for all you can eat crab and ordered the Espresso Martini again and was told the same thing. How can you be out of Coffee Liquor for 5 days on a drink you have pictures of in the restaurant? This was a huge management failure. All you can eat Crab Legs - This was the one shining star. It was more than worth $45 for all you can eat crab legs. This is one reason we would go back to this place. If not for all you can eat crab legs I would never go back. Management - Some of the worst management I have seen. I sent the crab dip back because it was not edible. You would think the manager would come over and want to talk, but we never did see the manager. I was also still charged for it. I don't remember seeing a manager ever. Looking for the cliche Florida coastal crab boil restaurant. Hurrican Patty's filled the need - as if it came out of a movie. It's off the road, on the marina docking bay = picture perfect. They're open later than other places, which was mainly what we were looking for. Shop owners eat later than the tourists. #facts We walked around the venue before entering and loved the entire water "bay vibe". The restaurant has a wrap around walking dock / deck with an outside bar, table seating, and live music all on the backside. On the front side of the venue is the entrance, and an outdoor table seating patio. Upon entering, you have to wait to be seated by the hostess. This has a very Joe's Crab Shack meets pirates ambiance without the "restaurant chain" feel. Our service was quick, semi friendly, and to the point. Our server gal took care of us, had a smile, but was not hovering - and that's what we expected. A total cliche server experience. The "Painkiller" drink I ordered was stiff and DARN yummy! The price was right, not over priced. I would have preferred a top shelf rum and no ice. Next time I'll ask. They have the crab boil special on Saturdays. I didn't know about the social when I chose this venue for our food adventure Night. The price was great as we happened to go on a Saturday. Tucked away in a quiet corner on the waterfront. Outside dining is a nice option. Outside tiki bar or indoor bar options available. The tacos was literally a tall order but every bite was delicious. The Down South Shrimp n Grits was good, small compared to other but delicious . I want to try the Shrimp Boil next time, looked very juicy. The only issue I had at the time I went (5 p.m.) was the bugs. I was able to switch to indoor seating with no problem. Maybe a bug light or dining friendly bug deteriorate would be nice. It has been a year since we have been here- soup is good - menu has changed we just tried shrimp platters and first time better not sticking and second try they sent out the shrimp were like rubber. We had 4 people with shrimp and it was just not right not a one off. I recommend the soups the service was friendly but the fried shrimp is a no go. The parking is a little confusing, as there is a marina next to the restaurant. I am not sure if we parked for the marina, as there seems to be a small lot for the restaurant, but it all worked out. There is ample parking toward the marina. Since you are next to a marina, there are lots of boats to watch and a beautiful water view of the San Sebastian River. Very nice. Lots of outdoor seating as well if you enjoy that. Overall, we enjoyed everything we ordered and the service was really great. My wife loved the Seafood Salad Stuffed Avocado and I thought the Shrimp and Grits were insanely good. The fried shrimp platter was another winner. This place was recommended by our Airbnb host and after checking it out online, it sounded like a nice, casual, fun place. When we arrived, no one was sitting in the restaurant, this was a red flag to us because it was a Sunday at 5:30pm, the day before a holiday Monday! I was expecting the place to be hopping. There were a few regulars at the bar inside and outside. This place is tucked back near a marshy inlet, with some boaters around, not the view I expected. Our server came over to us with a dirty work shirt, however, he was very personable and attentive. The server offered us half off of anything shrimp, which concerned us a little, thinking they had old shrimp they needed to be rid of, and there weren't any signs around about half off shrimp on Saturdays and Sundays, which is how he presented it to us. We tried the peel and eat shrimp and the shrimp and crab stuffed avocado, both were fresh and tasty. We also tried the fried shrimp basket-the shrimp was way overcooked, but the hushpuppies and the steak fries were really good. A big party of regulars came in and sat down after us, and they got there food first. Our server said that it was because he forgot to hit send on our order. The restaurant seemed dated and not exactly clean, and the bathroom was horrendous. This restaurant is moving its location to downtown soon, as their lease was not renewed. Stopped by on our jet skis. It's a little bit of a ride through the "minimum wake" area before you arrive so it got hot, but we enjoyed checking out something new as we hadn't been down that way before! No dock-master (doesn't matter for us on skis but in case boaters are interested). But no dock fees either. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and our server was fantastic and attentive! Ok. The minute I arrived in the area started getting ads for local places. Hurricane Patty's stood out so we tried it. 5:00, empty except for one other table. Friendly server, empty place, looks out over the marina. Kids menu, all out of crayons though, we got a bucket of used server pens, nice try. Used the free appetizer coupon for the Hurricane Shrimp. Ordered drinks, Hurricane Category 5, and tried to order the Painkiller in the Tin Cup, but they were all out of those too. Both the hurricane shrimp and the gator looked the same, yellow breaded previously frozen. The shrimp had a little sauce drizzled over them along with the tiniest sprinkle of green onion. Taste was ok. Crab cakes were good, but the lifeless lump of rice on the side was not. Kids burger was just that. The shrimp bowl had several large shrimp tossed in with a salad, black beans, lime juice and some rice. Overall everything was ok, nothing special. Although there's the traditional fried platters, baskets and steamers there's ALSO many grilled/blackened options, healthy sides, seafood stuffed avocado, fresh garden salads sporting some decent greens and some mighty fine sweets like creme brulee cheesecake and peanut butter explosion (which I highly recommend)! This tucked away restaurant had great views and was on the water. I went with a very large group of 28. Based on previous reviews, I was not interested in trying any entrees. I started with a cup of cuban black bean soup, and it came out cold. The soup tasted like it came out of a can. They made an effort by adding garnish of tomatoes and cheese. Came here the other day for a late lunch/early dinner. We had spontaneously gone to St. Augustine the other day and I wanted some good seafood that wasn't fried. I reserved a table but when I got there, it wasn't super busy, so that sat us quickly. We were next to a huge window with a small view of the river. I ordered water and a fruity cocktail. My friend got coke and their sugar cookie alcoholic drink. My daughter had Sprite. I ordered the shrimp seafood boil. My friend had a burger with coke. My daughter had the kids shrimp and fries. I haven't been to Hurricane Patty's for a long time. Now I remember. As a local my main rule is if you want to go to dinner without a long wait -- choose a restaurant that takes reservations. We had a party of 8 people. The last time I was with this group was on a New Year cruise on the intercostal. We all came down with Covid. Our table was ready for us. We chose to sit outside. The owners spruced up the property since last visit. We had numerous appetizers like the spicy shrimp (really good) and the crab dip. It was noted that the dip tasted like 'Everything from the kitchen sink'. The pasta dishes were very good, my friend decided to order pot roast. I asked her why since it was very muggy outside as in my mind it a cold weather dish. She said it reminded her of her mother's cooking. She enjoyed it. The fried shrimp basket was served to another and they were good and didn't have overwhelming amount of breading. I ordered the grilled cobia fish with extra veggies and no rice. The veggies were awesome. Not so much with the fish. I was presented with a piece of fish that was over cooked and dry. It was so well done and hard with a lot of salt. I was very disappointed. The Mr and I, along with another couple enjoyed a great dinner here last night. Between us all, we ordered a cup of New England Clam Chowder, a cup of Minorcan Clam Chowder, an avocado bacon chicken sandwich, two fried shrimp baskets, and a fish & chips basket. All our food was delicious. I loved the Minorcan Clam Chowder. It was very fresh tasting and had a great flavor. Mike really enjoyed his NE Clam Chowder and he's from New England! We came in on a Sunday about 11. The service started great. Drinks and appetizers came out in an acceptable amount of time. Then... it went down from there. We did come in with 9 kids and 2 adults so we were expecting a bit of a wait to get our food out. My 9 yr old grandson ordered adult chicken tenders and a couple kids shared. I orders the Baja tacos and rice and beans. The tacos and rice and beans were extremely dry like they'd been sitting on the counter for the duration of getting our other food out. 45 min the kids from 17 to 5 are now getting hangry and hot since we sat out on the patio. We finally started getting food and asked for more drinks that took longer. An hour in my grandson finally got his tenders (2) tenders were on his adult plate and no fries. By this time we are ALL over it and just ready to leave. The waitress that started out great let me know she took off my plate and my grandsons plate because she saw they weren't right when she brought them out. As a server you NEVER take something to the table you know isn't right! You communicate with your table that it was wrong and the kitchen is redoing. First time in St. Augustine, we were to tired for an "out to dinner". Within walking distance from our hotel, our waiter, Ian was absolutely awesome, gave us some pointers for our visit and could not have made our first night more enjoyable. We wanted to try a new seafood place outside of the main tourist area of St. Augustine. I saw this one was on the water and it sounded good so we went. It is a cool spot attached to a marina so you have a nice view of the water as well as still being able to see the cathedral in downtown St. Augustine. We were greeted quickly and able to choose a seat. Our server was nice and he checked on us regularly. We chose alligator tail as an appetizer because it's one of my boyfriend's favorites, and I ordered New England clam chowder and shrimp and grits and he got the island pot roast. The gator tail was one of the best I've tried. It was very tender and the sauce that came with it had a nice kick. The New England clam chowder was delicious and had nice chunks of clam. It was perfect for a cloudy, chilly day. I also enjoyed my shrimp and grits. The shrimp were very well seasoned. The grits themselves could have used a little more flavor, but they were still quite good. My boyfriend liked his island pot roast and from the taste I had, it had a nice flavor. We also spoke to who I believe was the owner and he was very nice. He had come over because their heat had went out and it was a little chilly and what I thought was really awesome is that the restaurant was working quickly to remedy the situation. They had purchased portable heaters and everyone was working together to set them up to ensure the comfort of the guests and the staff. I thought it was cool that they were going the extra mile and adding that expense since it was a Sunday morning so I'm sure that it would be hard to have the overall system fixed quickly on short notice. It shows an extra level of care and consideration. I definitely want to revisit this spot in warmer weather and check out their outdoor tiki bar one evening since it looked like a fun place to have some drinks and enjoy the ambience! read more

The sirloin was half burnt and dry, my shrimp and grits were okay but the shrimp were low quality frozen without any flavor. The nachos were okay but very little chicken pieces were on them. The mojito had too much lime but the Bloody Mary was perfect. The service was very good and fast , which was nice. Not sure I'll be back. This restaurant was close to our hotel so we thought we walk over to it on our first day in st Petersburg. the food was just OK they do have outdoor dining but it was kind of rainy they have a happy hour $2 off wine until 7 pm they do wear mask if you like fried food this would be a good place for you to go I had a salad put salmon on nothing really in the salad unappetizing the salmon was just OK fish and chips fries were cold when brought to us but they did get us fresh hot fries !! tand the peel shrimp they also thought was OK the waiter was nice Not busy Took a long time for them to take the dirty dishes off our table I would not go back to this restaurant I'm not recommending it unless you're into eating fried food read more
