Combo fried Rice, Moo Goo Delight & Kung Pao Chicken, crab rangoons

My favorite spot for Chinese food me and the wife have been coming more lately but it always worth the 1 and half hr drive from Copperas Cove. We always get the combo fried rice and whatever main dish and have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. Service is always good too a can't miss Restaurant

ONION (aka chicken) Chow Mein lunch
    Susan M.

Austin just fails consistently with Chinese Food. I give four stars for friendly, attentive waitstaff, good value and generous portions. $12 Chicken Chow Mein lunch came w/a delicious hot and sour soup, mediocre eggroll and cream cheese wanton. The chow mein was overpowered with green onion tops and white onion. 'Just too oniony!! Huge scoop of perfect steamed rice. Food was ok, didn't want to take the leftovers home... will try again, order something else. They were busy at 2pm.

I am having a hard time writing this review. It sits between a 4- and 3-star review. On the plus side, everyone working there is super nice, helpful, and friendly. The food is good. I do wish their wonton soup had more than one wonton. My dish was ok; I have had better elsewhere, but my father's was better than others. The food comes out really hot --steaming hot. They seem to be doing a booming takeout business. Maybe that is why the food is so hot: they are making it for to-go orders vs dine-in. My father and I were one of only three tables eating in on a Sunday night. My biggest issue is that the place needs a thorough cleaning. The floors are beyond gross. The knick-knacks are full of dust. I really hope the kitchen is cleaned better, but I would rather not think about it. The staff helped me get my father out by holding the door open for us--a bit of an afterthought --the little concrete to make the door ADA-compliant. So I appreciate the help.

We have never been here before but we seen it for many years so today we came for lunch. We had sesame chicken rice egg drop soup and moo goo gan pan fried rice hot and sour soup. Sesame chicken was too sweet to eat hai pan chicken tasted powdery. Restaurant had an odd smell about it. We were really hoping this would be our new to go too place but it's not

This is a quintessential Chinese restaurant with foods reminiscent of that of my childhood. It's flavorful, greasy, and salty-- all good qualities of a Chinese restaurant in my opinion. The sesame chicken was great, crispy, and sweet. The combination lo mein was greasy, salty, and exactly what I was looking for, and the Mongolian beef is a bit tough, salty, and sticky. The service was kind and I'd come here again! Cheers!

    Spicy Green Bean Crunchy Noodles

The egg drop soup is the star of the show! It's filled with silky ribbons of egg and the broth has that thick salty flavor. We order the crunchy noodles as well to pair with/throw into the soup. This is a favorite combo of mine especially on a rainy day or when I need a comforting meal. Ordered the chicken fried rice without veggies since we're not a fan of peas. Very reliable fried rice! This place is our go to. This was our first time trying the spicy green beans and they were good but not great. They definitely aren't spicy and could use more garlic to enhance the flavor. They did have a nice crunch to them. We have only done takeout but the online ordering system is easy to you, you pay when you pick up, and our food is always ready when we arrive. They have a designated pickup station in the restaurant for takeout orders. There were multiple pest traps when we went this time so just something to be mindful of.

The vibe of the place was great as well. Our server, Zach, was attentive, entertaining, and gave great recommendations. We had the Po-pea jay and the whole market fish. The Po-pea jay was light, refreshing, and bursting with flavor. However, the fish took the spotlight. The meat was soft while the skin was crispy. The watermelon sauce that came with it was bright and citrusy. My bf and I loved the pickled watermelon rinds. The fish also came with a ssam set, I wish I asked for more because it was delicious. I hope to come here again!

It wasn't bad though. It was sweet, cold, and had a good serving size but it was not thai tea. Mint Lesion 4.4/5 This was surprisingly good! I thought mint and fruit didn't belong together but this is actually a very nice lychee drink. Brussel Sprouts 5/5 This is what I kept munching on throughout the dinner! It was the best appetizer, came with so much, soft with crispy edges, sweet, salty, and spicy. A little too salty at times but very good overall! Calamari 2/5 This calamari was overly salty?! I tried it without the sauce and the salt was just coming through so much. The sauce was a really yummy sweet thai sauce but genuinely so spicy. Raw Oysters 1/5 For the price, I expected large oysters but they came out with these small, thumb-sized oysters :( They were a bit fishy and grainy, very disappointing! The sauce was good though! Fried Shui Mai 4.5/5 Definitely not shui mai! But very delicious, crispy, and the sauce is great as well. Sauce is also spicy! Green Curry 5/5 This was very delicious! Although a bit salty, the rice balances it out. I like this one because of the basil flavor and how the spice is only a hint. Very creamy, very good! Pad Thai 5/5 This was definitely my favorite!!! It was like an elevated pad thai. Very tart, sweet, delicious, umami, and overall just good. Very nice vibe, great place to take pictures, and the workers were very nice!! Seating is a bit strange. This is a great place to have an elevated dinner but not a great place if you want to eat real Thai food. Thank you to the workers for supplying us with a very nice experience.

I actually came to MUSE because they advertised their sandos online. It's the type of sando akin to the famed ones from Age.3 in Ginza and other Japanese spots. It's definitely more expensive than abroad, but it's genuinely the BEST thing here. It's actually so insanely good that I was afraid to eat too much of it. It's the definition of a guilty pleasure. The creme brulee one scares me just from what it makes me become... Word of advice, this place should rebrand to focus on sandos and drinks. It took me a bit to find it as I'm directionally challenged, but I did and was just running a bit late. We really enjoyed the food and cocktails. I got the Singaporean noodles, a mezcal drink, and a sake. The serving size was big so I had plenty to take home. We shared many of the other dumplings and dim sum items. Everything was very good! The place wasn't too crowded so after we paid our bill we sat around for a while longer to chat and catch up. Usually someone would come by to see if we needed or wanted anything further, but no one did so we kept chatting and left. I'm happy to know of a central location with easy parking as a future place to meet people. I wish they had a happy hour because the bill for 3 of us was unexpectedly higher than usual.

When you arrive, everybody is so nice you give them your name and they get you seated right away. I ordered a drink called a signature tingling Daisy and it was so good. I definitely could've had so many but I was driving so you gotta pace yourself. We started off with the soup dumplings, which are just phenomenal. It's a must when you go. Also, for appetizers, we got the spicy cucumbers which were divine and a hot and sour soup, which was perfectly balanced and not watery. We also got a beef fried rice and let me tell you that rice is so soft and delicious. You literally dream about it the next day. I also got the pecking duck which is delicious there the skin is nice and crispy and the meat on it taste so good. We also got the Kung pow shrimp with cashews, which was delicious and the pieces of shrimp were gigantic. We also got the green beans which is were delicious. I love ordering green beans when they're cooked just like the ones I posted in the photo. Then for dessert, we got the chocolate mousse which is that little dog cake. It was delicious now I will say when cutting it and realizing the inside had a raspberry filling, made it a little more crazy cause it looked like blood, but it was still so good. This place is definitely an awesome staple and a must visit when you're in town or just always go and have food there whether it's date night or friends catching up or anything in general even on your own.

This could have been my mistake but I don't remember any choice in the matter. The greeter wasn't very friendly and borderline surly when I asked for more details about how to not book the bar in the future. Didn't get any explanation but fortunately, we won't have to worry about that... The food was just awful. We ordered 3-4 types of dimsum (onion pancake, soup dumplings, chu shou, fried shu mae) and three entries (orange beef, eggplant and their take on ma pao tofu) for the best tasting experience. The curry sauce for the onion pancake was probably the most flavorful dish of the night sadly. The onion pancake was way way over fried-- hard as a rock. If that's their take on onion pancake... well, it's just wrong. The soup dumplings were passable but a bit doughie and the filling was full of a lot of noticeable coagulated fat -- not clear and broth-y, with light surface droplets of oil as all delicious broths. My wife enjoyed the chu shou -- I found the filling much too overcooked and tough -- difficult to eat with chop sticks. Like a tough, overcooked meatball. The fried shu Mae were just plain inedible. My wife and I each ate one and left the rest. The included sauce was basic and too heavy. And again, over fried. There was a huge delay between our apps and our mains, like 40 minutes or so. Various bar staff apologized. It wasn't a big deal, we were in a good conversation and they were super busy but our mains were not at all worth waiting for. Small portions. WAY over sauced. WAY too salty. WAY too sweet. No distinct flavors at all. The ma pao didn't seem to have any Szechuan pepper at all. How do you miss that ? The plating of the eggplant dish was really creative but I don't eat with my eyes and it came with no instruction -- my first bite was just flavorless steamed eggplant cube -- second was mixed with one note sauce. One of the better mains IMO but it was still gloopy and pretty gross. Wife did not enjoy it. The orange beef was essentially just six or seven cubes of tough, fatty beef covered in over-the-top bitter orange peel. We each had a cube and left the rest. Honestly, give me Panda Express any day over this abject failure of a restaurant. Austin needs more Chinese but if it's anything like this place, forget it. I'd rather spend a 4h round trip to Houston and go to even a mediocre Chinese restaurant than endure another meal at this place. What a waste of $165. Edit: I wish I was making this up but I literally had to pull over to throw up on the side of the road on the way home. The food did not sit well with me. I have no underlying health conditions, am not on any medicine that would have this as a side effect and only shared one beer with my wife. It was just a very, very, disappointing and gross meal.
