This place is definitely Americanized as some folks point out, but it is still a somewhat relatively option for those who are a bit tired of Chipotle. They provide some Korean-style toppings and then are pretty flexible with what you order. I was able to swap the crispy chicken in for the beef, which was nice. I didn't like that they charged me extra to swap the chicken in without informing me. But overall, the toppings were plenty, healthy, and crispy. I write this review with a heavy heart, as my friends and I have had many wonderful Chi'Lantro meals over 7 years. Yes, there has been times when there was inconsistency in terms of food quality and portion size. However, last night proved to be a deal breaker for me, as the additional beef, tofu and dumplings were almost inedible unless one was on the verge of starvation. And I don't say that mildly and without justification. The meat was tough and salty and tasted like it had been sitting and stewing all day. The tofu was also chewy and overly salted. The worst were the 6 additional dumplings for the price of $6.50 that were stale and bland tasting. I can only conclude they had been sitting for a long period of time exposed or else they had been stomped on. That may have been my last time at Chi'Lantro. Sad as it was such an Austin celeb chef triumph back in the day! read more

I haven't left many reviews recently, but felt obligated for this one. My team has been ordering Chilantro for lunch the last few weeks and man is the meat quality bad. I gave it several tries, and now have to speak up about the beef. It's really bad- gristle, chewy stuff I have to take out of my mouth and throw away. I can't even finish chewing it because my lunch break isn't long enough. I can't speak for the chicken, but the beef seems lacking. Chilantro, if you're listening, pleaee taste the beef you're serving for lunch and find a better vendor. I love how colorful the bowl was after all of the vegetable toppings were included. I ordered using their online website and my food was on time. The bowl was a pretty large size for under $11. It was very affordable and nutritious. They also sell lots of fun and unique self-serve drinks. There's plenty of parking at this location. The workers were friendly and quick. First off, for the price I'd say the portions are generous. One bowl will likely last me two if not three meals.
