The last time I reviewed this restaurant I had a lot of negative things to say. Sameer reached out and told me he would be correcting the issues within a couple weeks. That was a little while back at this point. My girlfriend and I went today and we were blown away by the complete 180 that they have done in this restaurant. Not only did they correct all the issues I had brought up, but they improved on things beyond what we had hoped. The restaurant is better than it has ever been. The food is fresher, hotter, and the flavor is so much more robust. They also added a new type of lemon hummus, which we enjoyed. The paprika shawarma is so much better now. I know that's pricey but you get very fresh food that tastes healthy and filling (honestly a bowl is good enough for two meals). Hummus Way reminds me a lot of Cava because you can build your own bowls and wraps. I'd say that Hummus Way tastes fresher and healthier to me whereas the flavors at Cava are better. We ended up ordering a bowl and a garlic jalapeño wrap and enjoyed both. I love how you can customize the bowls and wraps and all the different toppings and sauces that are available. The flavors were really good and the portions themselves are generous which I appreciated. The food tasted really fresh and I feel like overall, the food here is a solid option if you're looking for a healthy meal. I'd say that the prices are fair given the quality and quantity of the food. There was one employee working here when I went and she was super sweet and friendly! Because it looked like she was the only one working there though, service was pretty slow because she had to be in the kitchen, make the food, and ring people up at the register. We got there less than 5 minutes after they opened on a Sunday and there was already a decent sized line of people waiting to order. Great, clean place, great staff behind the counter ladies were very helpful. It was hot on Saturday and there is mo AC in this place. Hope they have it in back for there ladies. Now for food it was so so taste to me, tahini didn't have any salt. I personally don't like falafel in tortilla wrap, like it in pita pocket. They had pita on side with bowl. No no. FAR from as good as some of these other positive reviews say. GUARANTEED not the best Mediterranean style food in the area. I'm actually truly baffled by how many positive reviews there are for how terribly unpleasant, old-tasting, and pre-packaged the food from this place is. Flavors were bland. Just salty and garlicky. No nuance of flavor at all. The pickles taste like store-bought hamburger pickles. Bleck. The falafel was THE WORST I have ever had, and that includes from frozen. So very dry, crumbly, sticky, and grainy. So so bad. The pita also seemed store-bought. It was not fresh at all. It tasted like something you could buy at the grocery store, that just got thrown in the microwave to reheat. It was so tough, gummy, and chewy. Pretty disappointed by this place. I was really looking forward to trying it. The prices seemed reasonable for the amount of food you get, based on the photos I saw here on Yelp. But they really just amped it up on the spinach and the toppings were kind of scant and randomly strewn about. I couldn't even find the two types of hummus that were supposed to be on there. It was just a big mess. As far as service, I ordered ahead and by the time I got there, the man working was surprised to see me and hadn't even noticed that an order had been placed. He had one customer in the store and they were dining alone. I waited 20 minutes in the restaurant for my order to be ready. The ambiance was pretty sad too and has a VERY bad echo. If the person next to your table is talking or orders are being taken at the register, you cannot hear the people at your own table speaking at all. Also, the photos on the menu next to the list of items being sold is inaccurate. One of the reasons I wanted to eat here is because the photos on their website and the menu show pickled turnips and yellow chili peppers. Neither of them are actually available to purchase off of the menu. They also claim to have "mushroom shawarma" on their website, but it was nowhere to be seen on the menu. Last but not least, this food made me sick and I'm still nursing my poor stomach after eating this food. It all tasted like it was at least a day old and now I am paying for it, both with my wallet and my wellness. Please don't eat here. There are many other Mediterranean inspired food places in neighboring parts of Orange County. My favorite that I HIGHLY recommend is called Sababa Falafel. Go there instead! read more

I drive past this place every day on my way home from work. I saw when they first opened and have always thought about it but never made the turn in until today. Oh man, such wasted time! It's a very small space but it smelled amazing. The people in line behind me obviously loved it and were great in telling me all about the menu. The two employees behind the counter were also maybe the most polite people I've ever met. I ordered a wedge bowl with falafel; you get 5 pieces. It took 4 minutes for the items to be fried fresh. I added mixed greens and you get three spreads. I chose eggplant hummus, tzatziki and zesty feta. You also get unlimited topping and sauce. Everything looked delicious and fresh. I got cucumbers and quinoa and crumbled feta. The employee made some other recommendations for me too. The fries were dusted with spices and everything was PACKED with flavor. The portion seemed a little small for the price and I think the steam from the heat of my bowl softened my fries and falafel so they weren't as crunchy as I would've liked, but everything still tasted great so I'm not going to hold it against them! I went with a bowl ($13.75) and I had the following options for customization. Choice of: Rice or couscous Spring mix or spinach Spreads (max of 3): Hummus, olive hummus, harissa hummus, tzatziki, feta, eggplant hummus Main (max of 1): Falafels, mushrooms, chicken shawarma, tumeric and lemon chicken, or Moroccan beef (+$2) Toppings: Pickled cucumbers, beets, tabbouleh, red cabbage salad, jalapeno, feta, kalamata olives, sumac onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, crispy onions, crispy garbanzo croutons. Dressing (max of 2) Tahini, Moroccan hot sauce, garlic sauce, cilantro pesto, and lemon & olive oil. For my bowl I went with couscous, spring mix, hummus, harissa hummus, olive hummus, turmeric and lemon chicken, pretty much all the toppings, and garlic sauce. The bowl also includes a freshly made pita bread. First of all, I was impressed with the quality and freshness of each item here. The bowl tasted great. While the hummus was good, all the varieties tasted pretty much the same. I was expecting the harissa one to be a lot more bold and spicy like the one at Cava. When I found Hummus Way on Yelp, I knew I had to try this place right away! I'm actually very surprised I haven't found this spot earlier but let's fast forward to 12 hours after I bookmarked this place... We both ordered their create your own bowl with basmati rice. Every single topping they had was so fresh. They all had a perfect balance of flavor and not salty at all either which is great! I highly recommend their hummus, especially their harissa hummus! Tzatziki was the best I've ever tried as well! I had pretty much every topping except for a few and the portions are generous. The portions for the chicken shawarma was very generous as well! I highly recommend their traditional tahini and cilantro pesto sauces! We also had their tumeric & ginger lemonade and their wildberry lemonade. Definitely should try those as well but a bit pricey with the small cup size. This is the best fast Mediterranean food I've ever had so far. Prices are fair, portions are very generous, and the service is excellent! The gentleman that helped us was super friendly and worked somewhat quick. It's such a bummer when you drive home and open up your food to find it's completely not what you ordered! My bowl had hummus and I definitely did not click that. There were no olives like I asked for. There was some green sauce. I picked at it and it was tasty enough, but just so wrong. My husband's bowl was wrong too! yelpers... you LIED to me! :( this is an establishment i will never visit again. i know the vegan options in OC are scarce... specifically anything with flavor. i was excited to try mushroom shawarma and have some falafels for lunch. upon arrival, parking was easy since there was almost no one in the lot. i walked in and the only person working behind the counter greeted me stressed with the task of cooking falafel. the menu was confusing, mainly due to the fact that a lot of options were missing in person. i wanted to try 3 different types of hummus since that was an option. the employee either did not understand english or chose to misunderstand what was said. she repeated the options i chose then proceeded to pick the hummus she wanted on my plate, i guess? it was so awkward dining in. there was silence and the one employee working on takeout orders as they came inside to pick it up. i felt so uncomfortable eating in. the falafels were crumbly, dry, and stale. the mushroom shawarma just tasted like oil. the hummus sucked. i also had a baklava and it was missing salt, rose water.... just any kind of flavor !!! overall, i was so disappointed with this flavorless meal. it was a waste of my time and a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. it is so overpriced and mediocre! i spent over $30 for a plate of sad mushrooms and falafels. i would not recommend. not worth trying. vegans avoid!!! i will forever go to kareem's falafel over hummus way any day. read more
