I came here with my coworker since we were nearby for a work meeting. She suggested this place since she used to come here at least twice a week when she worked in an office nearby. I'm so glad she suggested it because I was happy with the taste of the food. The service was friendly, and our food was brought to our table rather quickly. There was plenty of dining room space and many tables. It's a casual environment with the fountain drink machine and self serve for utensils and napkins. There was a small TV on in the corner. We both ordered the mixed beef and chicken Shawarma plate. The pita bread was warm and paired well with the beef and chicken. There was something very tangy and delicious about the salad dressing which I really enjoyed. My friend asked for the hot sauce and I'm glad she introduced me to it. While it was spicy, just a little dip went a long ways. I lived the spicy green sauce! The garlic sauce that the plate came with was delicious and complemented the proteins. I'll stop by again when I'm in the area.

I've been a customer for years and the food has always been really good. I usually get the Shish Kebab plate, it's around $18. The beef is delicious, really good flavor. The garlic sauce is by far the best I've ever tried. The rice is pretty basic. Salad is great too but I do wish the lettuce was more fresh, it was brown and soggy.

Honestly it pains me to write this, but this straight up wasn't good. Ordered chicken Shawarma plate. Chicken was bland and extremely dry (see pics), side salad wasn't that good either, and rice was bland as well. Staff was nice for sure. Maybe other people have gotten them on a good day, but my experience just was straight up not good.

The service and food were simply the best! The staff went above and beyond. The food is well marinated and delicious. Small place with big flavor.

    Greek salad $3.50 with combo

Unfortunately, nothing memorable about the food. I came here for lunch on a Monday. This place is called California Pita Grill, so not sure if there was a switch in owners. First time coming here, and probably last unfortunately. There are a lot of options here. I got the chicken pita wrap combo with Greek salad for an additional $3.50. Total came out to be about $12.50 which is not bad for lunch. The combo comes with a drink as well. The lunch portion size is enough to fill you up with just the wrap alone... but the chicken was extremely salty and sour. I should have gone to Doner G's instead. I took out most of the chicken because it was so salty. The Greek salad was okay, although it too was doused in sauce also. Better luck next time.

    Greek Salad was just horrible!

This was my second visit to Pita Grill Express and both times were just awful. For starters, they are not an authentic Greek restaurant and their food is just garbage. My Greek salad tasted soaky and like if it was made the day before. I literally tossed it in the garbage after just a few bites. The two side pieces of falafel tasted okay but also not great. Zero stars for horrible food.

This place has gone way downhill. I haven't been here in months but it was one of my favorite Mediterranean places in OC. The wrap I got today was nothing like the one I had last time. Not only did they increase the price, but i feel like the portions shrunk. Not only that, but the wrap legitimately sucked. The chicken was so dry and they removed the fries and sauce that they used to put in. The cut on the pickled onions were so blocky and it was put together so haphazardly. Not sure if I just came on an off day but I don't know if I'll come back again. The one redeeming factor was the cashier was very nice and service was fast. I would have preferred to wait longer for better food though.

Love grabbing lunch here! The food is delicious each time I go. All of the staff are nice and friendly. The gentlemen that make and prepare the food are quick and ask what grilled meat people in line are going to order to ensure the lunch rush is smooth. The cashier is very sweet and kind. Plenty of tables to choose from if you decide to eat inside.

Chicken kabab plate... it was delicious.!!

The menu is made for sharing, so come with people who don't mind passing plates around. There are a lot of familiar Southeast Asian flavors, but they're presented in ways that are a little different from what you'd normally expect. We had a great time here. Good food is obviously important, but having servers with personality and an owner who takes the time to check on his customers makes a difference. Sonder gave us both.

They procure many top-notch ingredients, and most of the preparation is simple so the food can speak for itself. The Kougin Amman ice cream sandwich is a genius pairing, especially because they just might make the best pastry in the world. The high ceilings, rustic exposed brick, and massive bar setup make for an electric atmosphere when it's packed out with a rowdy crowd. Even when they're slammed for game days, the kitchen holds its own. The duck fat fries are pretty much mandatory for the table--super crispy, well-seasoned, and easy to pick at while drinking. Their empanadas, lumpia, and burgers are also solid, easy crowd-pleasers to pair with a huge craft beer list or one of their whiskey cocktails. Because the energy is so high during watch parties, service can understandably take a little longer than a normal quiet lunch, but the staff handles the game-day rush really well and keeps the drinks flowing. She was very attentive in taking our order. For food I ordered the crab cakes, the shishito peppers, and the Atlantic salmon with the chimichurri sauce on the side. I substituted the mashed potatoes for French fries because I don't eat dairy. Everything was delicious and a little different. For the shishito peppers usually these are served with a tangy sauce and the shishito peppers are blistered. With this dish the shishito peppers were still blistered but they were served on a sweet mustard sauce. For the salmon that was also delicious, served with vegetables. The French fries were great. The crab cakes were pretty good. Now if you're from Maryland you are not going to like these crab cakes, of course, because you're from crab cake capital, but for California crab cakes they were good.
