I will make this short and sweet... Food is alright, and the service was horrible! Waffle house is alot better, or IHOP!

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a weekday morning. The service was actually fine. They did forget to bring us a side that was ordered, but overall, the service was adequate for a recently opened establishment. The food...ehh. I would say its like a Denny's. read more

When there isn't a Denny's or a diner nearby, the Huddle House is a perfect option. Their waffles aren't the typical hard texture, but they make up for that with the delicious taste. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very similar to a Denny's. read more

I was very disappointed with my visit to Huddle House and I do not feel that there will be another visit from us in the near future. It seems like the waitresses do not have "zones" assigned to them but rather get the parties assigned to them as they come. We ended up with a waitress who seemed uninterested in helping us. It was bad enough that she got my beverage order wrong (for future reference: an "Arnold Palmer" is lemonade and tea and NOT sweet and unsweet tea) but, while she corrected her mistake when I told her about it (about five minutes later), she left the first order (the one she got wrong) on the table. A different waitress ended up getting our order because our original waitress was... I don't know, elsewhere? The food took longer than it should have taken to arrive; and the food was bland and undercooked. My hash browns where half-cooked and lukewarm, my cheese was not melted all the way, and my wife's pancakes were also underwhelming... just like my visit to Huddle House. read more

First appearance is hopeful. Smells great. That's where the pleasantries ended. We had a waitress that was harder to find than a unicorn. The food was wrong and it was all warmed in a microwave right in front of us. It was terrible. Never going there again. We had so much hope for this place. read more

Sunday at 6pm ate dinner. We were in forney and needed a place to eat. Not our best choice. If you want cheap, quick food with a diner feel this is the place. If you live in Terrell just go to Terrell Cafe - way better. Food was bland and predictable. Nothing special. I had the Huddle burger - boring. read more

Only place open to eat on Christmas Day. Place was full. We ordered burgers and fries and waited and waited. Our waitress could tell we were getting a little upset. Here's the deal with Huddle House. It's the only 24 hour restaurant in Forney (most days of the week, I think it's not open 24 hours Sunday or Monday). So I'm glad we have one. But it's like a Denny's. Have you been to Denny's? That's about the same quality of food at Huddle House. Which is cool when you want a Denny's like experience. The service is friendly, not always super fast. The bacon is not great, which is how I usually rate my breakfast experience, it's limp, thin, and sad. Coffee is good, eggs are fine, sausage works. I've only gotten breakfast here so I can't speak to their other items. My wife got a shake once, and really liked it, so maybe try that. read more

Crickets everywhere...alive and dead. Crawling on the floor, window sills, counted about 20 dead ones in the men's room. Besides the crickets, the place definitely does not get a very good cleaning very often. Dirty floors, booths, windows, bathrooms, etc. The food came out cold and the service could use a lot of work. We waited at our table almost 15 minutes b4 we were greeted and we were greeted after we walked up to a server and said, can we order some coffee? read more

Came in for breakfast, had to move seats after ordering because a kid was kicking the back of the seat non stop. Dad was draping his arm over the seat almost hitting me in the head. We moved seats, notified our waitress, and hour later still no food. We got up to leave and they offered us coffee to go. Not how can we fix this for you, but thanks for waiting an hour for nothing and here's some coffee for the way out! Will never be back! Went to alfredos where this never happens. read more

Horrible service, cold food, and dirty dishware. We stood at the entrance for over 10 minutes while the waitresses ignored us, and continued serving other customers. When we were finally seated, it took about 20 minutes to receive our food, which was cold by the time we got it. During this time, I discovered that the coffee mug she brought me had bright pink lipstick on the opposite side that I had been drinking out of. The floor of the entire resteraunt was covered in filth- straw wrappers, dirt, food, etc. I would to recommend this place. read more

Extremely slow service waited 40 mins only to be told our food was coming. We finally just walked out and told them we couldn't wait an longer for eggs, sausage and hash browns. The place wasn't even busy. I was disappointed with the service so we drove to Denny's and got our food in 10mins after we had placed our order. read more

The food was alright. My blueberry pancakes were the exact opposite of what I like, they put a big ball of berries in the center with none spread out. Then the manager was very rude to my waitress, right in front of me. I'm gonna wait and give it another chance, but don't expect a gourmet meal. read more

HORRIBLE.. Went there tonight and service was awful! First, the server uniform was really dirty and her pants were under the bottom of her shoe. Second, we ordered grits and the bowl was overloaded with butter dripping down the sides of a cracked bowl. We had to ask for silverware after the food was brought out. The syrup container had syrup dried up on it..I asked her to wipe it off..she took it and brought it right back the same way..so we asked for a towel to wipe the table were the syrup sat because it had the table sticky..towel was filthy.. Brought it to the cook and he dumped it in a bowl..i could go on about it but o well..the food was hot and fresh...not pleased at all and we will not be back..very disappointed..the 2 stars is for the food..there was 4 of us and another table of 3 and 2 read more

The night shift crew was working at the time i went in a week ago. The first time there was a hair in my food and they took it from me saying they have to take photos of it, then they had to call a manager on the phone and ask if they could give me another plate of food. The milkshake was awful! It was practically milk! They let trash sit on my small table for way to long. Everything was filthy, including the ketchup bottle they gave to me. read more

New to Forney and was excited to try Huddle House, walked in this morning and 4 different employees looked right at us and after about 5 minutes one waitress finally acknowledged us and after that we still were not seated. We walked out and definitely will not be back. Would rather drive extra time to Mesquite to eat at IHOP. Absolutely horrible. Management needs to get this under control. read more

First in response to everyone's complaint about the service, this is the company's fault. The girl that waited on me was so sweet and I could tell just did not have the proper training and this was probably her first job. I am giving this place one star for how sweet this girl was. I have worked service industry, so I always watch the atmosphere and I always notice how the managers speak to there empolyees. My mom however doesn't and she even noticed how a large man who seemed more like an area manager then a manager was talking to people. You do realize your line is open and I am sitting at a booth 10 feet away right?? You ruined the atmosphere by your rude management skills. There was also a girl manager there and the same thing, why are you getting an attitude with these employees when you are the one who probably trained them? It's your fault. They are young high schoolers and like I stated before it is probably their first job. The food is not good either, go to waffle house...heck go to IHOP! Sorry rant over, just could not stand how this manager was treating his employees and any company who allows that has lost my buisness. read more

Says that this is a 24 hour diner, it's not. They were locking doors up at 11:30 and trying to close down the kitchen. Asked for tea; no tea. Understandable since it would go bad over the night. Then asked for sprite. No sprite. I ended up going with an oreo shake. Bad idea. It tasted like watery milk with chunks of oreo. We ended up ordering an appetizer that never came, and go served over cooked chicken, messily done oreo pancakes and cold biscuits and gravy. Been here one time before and it was wonderful, but you could tell that the cooks are slacking. Wonderful service from our waiter, but you could tell how lazy the kitchen guy was. Didn't even make our appetizer. Even after the sampler was taken off, it was a $50.00 bill for cheap, lazily prepared food. Could NOT talk me into going to this place again. read more

Brand new restaurant, so I'm actually being lenient. This place opened just a week ago, the staff is of course brand new. Beautiful deco inside, lots of interesting things to look at. We've waited with great anticipation of a 24 hour concept restaurant. I was very disappointed to see the lack of service, lack of experience in dealing with customers and the place is FULL of managers who seem so happy to be working in a beautiful new store that they completely forget that there's customers in the place, or that there's training to be done. We actually experienced this first hand with our second visit. Managers setting in the booth right next to us literally screaming at employees "Hey get away from there!", "Is that your station?", " Who said for you to do that?" In my experience managers who are so complaisant to set on their butts and scream at new employees in front of customers is a recipe for bad things to come, and really ruins my experience as a diner. We really felt bad for the poor kids working there. The food is decent at best, which is disappointing because we really love the concept. The menu looks to be very different from a IHOP, or Waffle House. My chili, that I had to get permission to order as an entre' was served to me directly out of the microwave (huge turn off). I also ordered the Classic club sandwich, which the cooks didn't recognize the difference between breakfast toast that can be served hard toasted, and sandwich toast that needs to still be soft enough to hold the contents of the sandwich. So first bite, the entire sandwich falls apart and I'm left eating my club sandwich with a knife and fork out of my plate. It is my hope that with REAL managers, and a trained staff that this place is going to do great in Forney. I will update this review from time to time, and hope I can raise my rating at a later date. Again, this place is BRAND NEW, and I'm confident that things will get better. I hope their staff see's this review and receives it as a customer who would like to see them succeed. read more

Eaten here before, the food is just as if I was to cook it myself, nothing spectacular. I haven't been back in months because the service is horrible. Tried to go there today because it's the only place in Forney that you can actually sit and have breakfast without waiting 2 hours. (Hence the bad service) we reluctantly went anyways. As I type this I'm standing in line at Oscar delta because I walked out of the huddle house. We sat there for 10 mins with no acknowledgement at all. The waitress running around with her head cut off so I continued to wait because I figured she was busy. Fee minutes later another family walked in and sat down. They were helped and greeted immediately. That is when I walked out and left. The place hasn't changed. The food sucked and the service is worst. The owner needs to hire more people or have a manger that can give structure. Forney has no places to eat so common sense would tell you to staff your place accordingly on a Saturday, knowing that it will be busy at breakfast. read more

Will not return to the Huddle House in Forney. Just moved to Forney a few months ago and thought this would be a really neat place to eat. Have tried it several times and have experienced problems but tonight was the worst! Was eating my dry overdone burger when a big hair got caught in my teeth -yuck! We had to hunt down our waitress every time we needed anything (even though the place was not busy). Heard the manager telling someone at the next table about having new waitresses and they had to learn. Manager never came to our table..even after me sending the burger back. Then the waitress proceeded to tell us all her problems ..about being sick but still having to come to work, etc. My son's breakfast was cold and biscuits were hard. I used to be in restaurant management (even owned my own restaurant for 3 years) and I don't understand how this place is even still in business. When we've gone in the past the food has been good but service has ALWAYS been bad. read more
