This place is getting worse. Dine and there are two employees taking a break in two booths. One is laying down with his feet up and his shirt pulled up to his nipples. All the while there are tables that need cleaning. This is a restaurant dining room, not a lounge. No hairnets on the cooks. As in my previous review of this location, management is asleep at the wheel. There isn't one place in the front of this store that a manager could not see what is going on. Floors don't look like they've been swept or mopped. As a manager you're not even trying to. The chicken was more breading than meat. Just a fried doughball. Disappointing all around. I visited Bush's Chicken in Forney, Texas, to see how it stacked up against other chicken places. The drive-thru was packed, which seemed like a good sign. Once inside, though, things started off slow. I stood at the counter for about ten minutes, and none of the staff members -- and there were quite a few of them -- came over to help. I was close to walking out when a person in a black Bush's Chicken shirt, who looked like the manager, came over and got things moving by asking someone to take my order. I ordered six chicken tenders, jalapeño poppers, and sides of Buffalo sauce, ranch sauce, gravy, with a drink of unsweetened tea. My order was ready in around seven minutes, which was reasonable given how busy they were. The chicken looked great: it was hot and tasted just as good. I'd rate the chicken at a 4 out of 5. It was just shy of perfect; a bit more spice or a pinch more salt could have made it even better. A spicy chicken tender option on their menu would be a hit, I think. The gravy was delicious, and the Buffalo sauce really hit the spot. The jalapeño poppers were tasty, especially with the thick breading -- a homemade ranch sauce instead of the packaged Ken's would make these even better. The roll looked great but was a bit too hard, which was a letdown. The restaurant was tidy inside, and the outside was neat and welcoming. Overall, I'd give Bush's Chicken a solid 4 out of 5 stars. A touch more flavor on the chicken, their own recipe for ranch sauce, and quicker attention to customers at the start would make this place tough to beat. read more

We ordered a pie and were told that there was an issue w/ the oven so that would be delayed. However, all the food was delayed. First experience was in Waco. Loved it so much, when back in Dallas we got a car and visited this location. It did not disappoint. Aside from the delicious chicken (brined? seasoning?) and Amazing rolls, it was really enjoyable to dine in and watch their team. Moderately busy, they went through some chicken. This place is near where we live and we drove past this place after going to Six Flags off the 20 and then on Sunday, we decided to try this place out. There are many chicken places to try in Forney, but my wife wanted to try this as they have fried gizzard and livers. You can not go dine inside as everything is take out for now. The con is it can be tricky to get into as there is no lane to make a left. The good news is the take out menu is large, the bad news is that you need to be the first one in line to see the menu and the prices. The lady was outside and it is school style where they take your order through paper while we wait outside. We ordered the fried chicken (10 pieces and 5 biscuits and the fried liver and gizzards for a total for $31.00. The lady gave us the sweet tea for free in the meal which was really nice. The chicken came out piping out and came out really fresh. The chicken was not dry and I like how they breaded the chicken as it was nice and crispy and was still hot when we got home which was around a 15 minute drive. Today wasn't great at all BC. The guy I was making my order with promised hot chicken, I was like okay great. I wanted to make sure my okra was cooked fresh so I mentioned to him I'd wait it's just fine. Thinking he was cooking things up FRESH..... Check your chicken before you leave. We have been repeat customers for quite a while. Normally we have been pleased with food. But tonight not so much got a 40.00 family meal the chicken strips were completely inedible. I should have checked... the chicken strips were so overcooked and tough. Almist looked like chicken that had been sitting awhile had been refried. Really disappointed. Wished I had checked too far to take back. Really disappointed. We pick up dinner regularly at Bush's . The service is among the top 5 drive thru's in town. It's fast, and those kids really hussle. The chicken is consistently fresh and hot and they have good sides. My only complaint us that their sweet tea is way too sweet. Great place! read more

Well let me say right now, I will NEVER eat at this place again. My wife ordered me some food and when I got it, it did not match what the receipt said. I took the order back to the store and I went in with the box. (A little sweet lady was coming out to her car and saw me with the box and said, "wrong order?". I said, "yes ma'am"! She chuckled and it made me chuckle as well. I had the receipt and I told the young man that my order was wrong. I showed him the receipt and I kindly waited. The Manager got the ticket and looked in the box and said, "the order is definitely wrong." She then said, "we have someone here with dyslexia, please for give them". We all laughed (her, the 2 guys behind the counter, the 2 guys behind me, and myself), and I said Ok no problem. At no point did I say anything crazy or any other words after that. The manager then wrote on my ticket 20% off on the next visit, she showed it to me and I said "thank you". The manager then turns to me and said l, "here you go sir thanks for not shooting up the place". WHAT!!!!!!!!!! It totally caught me off guard. I could only say, "that's not even in my nature, i'm not that type". It pissed em off to the highest level of pisstivity. I pulled out of the parking lot and quickly turned around and went back inside. I told her "I took offense to her statement and she needs to direct that comment to another group of people who actually do stuff like that. (still never raising my voice AT ALL). I guess since we are both Black, she felt as though that comment could be made and nothing would come of it. Today I experience something from Bush Chicken that was quite unsettling and annoying enough for me to leave this Google review. I pulled into Bush Chicken sort after 6p so yes it was quite busy. When I pulled around in the second lane I was the only vehicle and at that moment no one was behind me. Now in the first lane there was one gray car, then a truck and then a white SUV (saying this to give a visual). The vehicle truck to the right of me was being serviced (no problem there). There was one male employee outside. So once the car to the left of me was serviced and pulled off. The employee skips me and services the truck behind me, took the order dashed and got his food, and the customer leaves. In my mind akward but I am still calm. The employee proceeds to now service the new vehicle to my left, dash to the now black truck behind me and last dash to the white SUV. So now I have just watched him service 4 or 5 cars and no glimpse of my vehicle in sight. I proceed to call the business and let the "proclaimed" manager know what I was experiencing. His response is "we are very busy and short handed mama, we will be get to you shortly". I informed his my complaint was busy or not I have just watched his employees service all the cars behind me and not ask me the magic queston, "Ma'am have you been helped". Which they normally do. It was less than 5 minutes later he sends a female employee to my vehicle to take my order. Must I add I did inform the manager I would have a conversation with him and did not mind waiting. He instead sent the nice female employee to take and bring my order and I can only assume it was a good gesture one of those free kids meal business card. I was disappointment that he dismissed my complaint, didnot take accountability that the ball was dropped that the employee overlooked me whether unintentional or not, twice. I a disappointed that the manager didnot face me face to face instead he sent another co worker to clean the mess of dis-customer satisfaction. Bush my son love your food but I will drive to your competitors if I will my dollar to patronize your business is not appreciation. I hate to say the race card but in this scenerio it felt like it. I like this place. The service is excellent and the food is always hot. The tenders are a good size and the rolls are buttery and slightly sweet. I like the corn nuggets and the flavor of the tenders. The sweet tea isn't tasty to me. A little too syrupy and too sweet. I will continue to visit this spot when I need some tenders! read more

Okay so we are new to forney and we've been looking to try this place for a couple of weeks. We finally went because most of the reviews were promising at that time. First I will start with the positive: the service was very good! The young man who brought out my order was very polite and we'll mannered and the older man who took my order was also very nice. Also the mashed potatoes were good. I thought they were good but my husband thought they were barely okay so I guess it just depends on your preference. The rolls were also pretty good. With that being said, the chicken was not that good. It was salty and reminded me of the chicken from chicken express which I hate. Besides being salty it was dry and didn't have any other flavor so I'm not sure what some other reviewers meant by "it has good flavor" lol but anyway we might give it another try in a few months but not sure since we don't go to many chicken places anyway. I was so excited when this restaurant opened. Forney doesn't have too many options for chicken and the first time we went it was quite good. Unfortunately this being our third visit I found that the quality of the food was very low and the speed of service in the drive-through was incredibly slow. The chicken it self on today's visit was over cooked, very dry and chewy. Bottom line, we won't be visiting again. Chick-fil-A is definitely a better option in the Forney area read more

So, I normally try to steer clear of new restaurants during their first couple of weeks; usually too many kinks to work out to judge them fairly. But, tonight I really wanted chicken and I don't particularly like the other chicken restaurants we have to choose from, so off I went to try our new Bush's Chicken. I'd like to start by apologizing to the 1/2 of the town that also decided to order dinner from there tonight, there were SOOOO many ppl in line and I had to look at the menu because I've never been to a Bush's before. My car hop was crazy busy, like all the other car hops, but she was still so patient while I figured out what I wanted. I got the one piece chicken breast with the green beans and also added some coleslaw. I. LOVED. MY. CHICKEN! Flavorful, juicy, crispy, goodness. I'm just happy we finally have a fried chicken place I will actually want to go. The green beans and coleslaw were both really good too. I'm already thinking about which sides to try next; I'm thinking the corn nuggets.... They are still working out some kinks, like how the line works.
