Bacon wasn't cooked. So raw. The cook is terrible. The customer in front of us sent his order of bacon back at least 5 times telling the waitress to tell the cook to cook the bacon all the way. Came to breakfast this morning. Manager was our waitress we didn't get ask about drinks for about 5mins. Mind you it was not busy! Finally got our drinks ordered and put our order in, finally get our meal it's a senior size portion for the new skillets they are offering. Not worth the money, not only that I got sick and vomited at the restaurant immediately after my meal. Other waitress was amazing I didn't get her name she was very comforting and concerned took me over to the manager. The Pros: -I got breakfast for dinner. -The price was OK and the food quality was typical for a diner. -The manager seemed friendly (she walked past our table when we were leaving and said hello). The Cons: -My wife's eggs were undercooked. -My cup was dirty. I'm not sure if it wasn't washed well or if the waitress had food on her hands when she was pouring the drink, but the cup had bits of food around the rim -- gross. -The waitress was extremely unattentive. The restaurant only had two other tables of guests, but we sat there looking around for probably about 15 minutes after we were seated until our waitress acknowledged us. When she actually spoke to us, she was pleasant enough and she must have written down our order accurately since the food came out as we ordered (minus the undercooked eggs), but she forgot our silverware and then we never saw her again until 15 minutes after we were all finished eating, and that's only because I had to go and find her to ask for the check. By that point we were the only table left in the restaurant. We were there for about an hour and a half and I'd estimate that the waitress was nowhere in sight for at least an hour of that time. I highly doubt we'll return and we can't recommend it to anyone unless they are absolutely craving breakfast for dinner in Forney and if they have a good book to read while they are waiting for their waitress to return. read more

EDITED I'm updating my review to say that they've completely turned around since our first visit! Food's been good every time and so has the service. We still ask for extra crispy hash browns though. Can't beat the prices either. We go fairly often now. --------------------- Walking into the place, we were greeted by a heavenly waffle smell. Wow! But I should have read the reviews on here first. We went to HH for two reasons - 1) We hadn't tried it yet, and 2) It was Sunday night and one of the few places still open. Hubby ordered the Philly Steak Omelette and hashbrowns, and got a waffle on the side. The omelette was okay, the hashbrowns really undercooked. I'm glad we had that waffle or I would have starved. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Melt: Marinated chicken breast, American cheese, Grilled onions on wheat bread. What did I get? A dried up piece of chicken on a bun, wilted lettuce and a tiny slice of tomato on the side, and on a white bun. No cheese, no grilled onions. Sent it back explaining what I wanted. It came out again, this time with the cheese and grilled onions - but on toasted white bread. I asked for the manager, who looked like she had been the one cooking. She took it back and gave it back to me on toasted wheat bread. By this time the fries that had been transferred from plate to plate were cold, and the chicken was even drier. I couldn't finish it. Our server was very sweet though, although quite inexperienced. I think she will be pretty good as a server in another environment where she can get the training she needs. We had to ask for silverware and napkins, but I can't complain too much about her. The ladies' bathroom was a tad dirty and I think they must have used their cooking grease to clean the floors. They were very greasy and my feet were sliding around. And there were no paper towels. We're sticking to Alfredo's. read more

We tried HH twice after reading horrible reviews and the food and service was good. Here's the catch: we went for breakfast, mid-morning, on a weekday. The next time I went was with my 3 year old on Thanksgiving and it was horrendous. They advertised they were open on Thanksgiving and we stopped in after a matinee. We didn't have Thanksgiving planned until the following day, so we were looking for food. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant and I am not sure about the cook staff. My son's grilled cheese wasn't even grilled. The cheese was still cold. His fries were cold. My food was awful. Now I'm seeing what all the bad reviews are about. We gave it one more try....but once again it was mid-morning during the week...no issues..breakfast was good and we had an emergency and took it to go. They were attentive and we left. So I'm thinking it's a night/weekend staff issue. Go weekday staff! Alas, we haven't been back and probable won't. Heed the warnings. read more

I don't hardly give reviews. When I have they're pretty positive. They've Charged me 9.07 for A waffle and A chicken patty. The waffle is salty. I thought they would have added other general breakfast items. If I could have gone there myself I would have. I've called 4x's, no answer. I know they get busy however I've never known them not to answer the phone. So why now. You may have gotten over on me this time however God is in control. He sits high and look low! Tried this place when it first opened. I wrote off the bad food and service as a start up issue. But returned six months later and no improvement. The service is still horrible. The waitresses are not attentive, and our waitress was flipping back between washing dishes and serving tables. I can only hope she washed her hands before handling food. The food was just plain bad. Not to mention it was cold by the time we got it. I never got a refil on my drink and we were in the place for almost an hour. Skp this place and find another breakfast restaurant. Food was what I expected. Generic. Got a double bacon cheeseburger and to call or small is insulting to small foods everywhere. The burger meat was burned, too. Fries were average. Kids got chicken sandwiches and they were good! Juicy and flavorful. Wife got chicken fried steak and it was really good. Mashed potatoes were good. Okay...This is a place similar to IHOP or Denny's. Nice atmosphere...when you walk in you smell waffles! Menu is basically breakfast fare with sandwiches thrown in. We tried the stuffed hash browns! Good, but almost too much food. I ordered a waffle on the side for $1.99 extra and it was SO worth it!! Perhaps the best thing I ate! So, if you're looking for a place that stays open all night where you can sit down and fill your craw with some fresh breakfast, then Huddle House is your place. OMG, just had the absolute WORST experience at Huddle House in Forney. There was 1 table finishing up and paying when we walked in and sat down. We were told that the hot tea did not have free refills......WTH, you don't refill hot water? Ok, so we placed our order and requested sourdough toast with our breakfast. The server comes back a few minutes later to tell us that our orders will be delayed because the cook decided to take his break. WTF, you can't take care of the only paying customers in the building? So the cook finishes his break. Server comes back to us telling us that they are saving the sourdough bread for sandwiches and do we want something else (remember we are the only table in there). I'm here now and they took our salt and pepper to "clean" as we were waiting on our order and when we asked for it back when our food got there, they then brought us one package for four people and then brought us a bowl of of salt and pepper. Didn't bring the toast for our order and when we asked about it the waiter said " oh when I remembered it, it was already cold, do you still want it?" Well no I guess not! Then told us where to go to put a review.... Not sure he even knew we were even upset with our food and service. We eat here quite often. It's so much like Denny's.We have had 1 issue ever eating here. This person is still employed here but I just try to ensure we get ANYONE other than her. This place has really good food- (I was very surprised). I was here for lunch today..there may have been two or three other tables occupied. I ordered: smothered hash browns with Swiss, no onions, no ham two eggs, scrambled a biscuit with sausage gravy I got: smothered hash browns with Swiss and everything else, plus a hair two eggs, scrambled a biscuit with some white gravy and maybe four small sausage pieces, like smaller than a used pencil eraser I asked to have the hash browns remade and while eating my bland white gravy biscuits and decent scrambled eggs, I overheard my remake order being conveyed incorrectly again to the cook, to which "NO onions" was over-spoken. I got my remade hash browns with tomatoes and Swiss only, no bell pepper. I asked about the bell peppers, to which I was informed the onions and bell peppers were already mixed together. Okay..weird, but whatever. Upon tasting the Swiss, I noticed it had a more "processed cheese food" taste to it, like that cheap individually wrapped crap, than actual cheese. The white "sausage gravy" was bland, and had very little sausage/flavor to it. The waitress was nice enough, even though she didn't bring me/ask me if I wanted any hot sauce, or any other condiments, for that matter. I'm 85% sure I will not be returning. My rating on this was generous only because the waitress was pleasant, personable, and timely, although a little scatterbrained. read more

The breakfast here is the best in Forney. The eggs were made to perfection and the pancakes are soft, fluffy and buttery. The orange juice was sweet and tart, the toast was buttered and not too crunchy. The coffee was just what was needed. My taste buds were dancing here. Talk about a big Texas breakfast. Grits, toast, 3 eggs, a slab of ham, hash browns, AND pancakes. I was still full from breakfast but the time dinner came. Thanks to the chef back there buying his elbow in my plate of food. We just went for a Monday morning there were a out 8 tables with people thr the remaining had food from past guest on it the lady that walked by we other food asked us to have a seat where we wanted and we sat a a 2 person table the only clean one in the place and sat and sat and sat we waited for 15 mins as new people came in and sat at tables with food on them and got served drinks and orders taken. Not us we were in can sight of the servers and they kept staring at us we find ally got up and left after almost 20 mins of not even a we will be right there. I've eaten here twice. The breakfast is pretty good, and that servers are attentive and nice. Sometimes I don't particularly like the seating placements. I really dislike eating super close to another dinning family, its awkward to me lol. If there are empty areas I'd rather be sat there to be more comfortable, but thats not a big deal I guess, just a personal preference. Once again the food is ok for what it's worth. Not bad at all, but also not worth a heavenly praise. I do have one recommendation when it comes to the cheese they use. Correct me if im wrong but I believe they just throw a couple squares of the yellow american cheese on the stuffed hashbrown platters?... I would suggest maybe try using a cheddar, or pepper jack, something with a complementary note to the dish. Also they should probably have the cheese melted down on it. My cheese always seemed to be just slapped on there cold.... sigh...... Anywho It's not a bad place to eat, you should try it and be the judge for yourself. read more

I was very disappointed with my visit to Huddle House and I do not feel that there will be another visit from us in the near future. It seems like the waitresses do not have "zones" assigned to them but rather get the parties assigned to them as they come. We ended up with a waitress who seemed uninterested in helping us. It was bad enough that she got my beverage order wrong (for future reference: an "Arnold Palmer" is lemonade and tea and NOT sweet and unsweet tea) but, while she corrected her mistake when I told her about it (about five minutes later), she left the first order (the one she got wrong) on the table. A different waitress ended up getting our order because our original waitress was... I don't know, elsewhere? The food took longer than it should have taken to arrive; and the food was bland and undercooked. My hash browns where half-cooked and lukewarm, my cheese was not melted all the way, and my wife's pancakes were also underwhelming... just like my visit to Huddle House. read more
