So this HOT SPOT unlike the OG spot in Fairfax is a hit or miss unfortunately ...... Been here on 2 different occasions and received 2 different experiences 1st visit wasnt too bad..... was seated fairly promptly which was 6pm on a Tuesday night.... happy hour drinks were ok... but overly sweet and not enough of the good stuff inside of it ... the service was prompt but server missed some of the items on our order several of times... and at the end of the night gave us a our check book but with an already paid check from another guest which is weird... Meats and seafood weren't bad... typical pre-sliced and portioned frozen proteins like any other hot pot place.. Veggie selection was good and options for seafood were good... ok 2nd visit is where it was not good.... a sat night around 8pm..... service was super slow and the place didnt have bowls.... like how do you not have a ample supply of bowls for your guest to use at a hot pot place???? that was strike one... their excuse were that they ran out of bowls and havent had time to clean them yet to get them out to the tables.... we were like WTF????? ok so 30 mins later... same excuse... almost damn near an hour into our dinner they throw us 3 bowls for a table ot 7.... like really??? who does that.... and at this point.. the restaurant was only about 70% at capacity .... Strike 2..... when you are served fish.. you shouldnt be overwhelmed with the fishy smell of fish before its cooked... thats a sign that it has gone or is going bad... also be very weary of being given a plate of pryed open mussels .... you dont know what condition they are in once you cook them... cause if they were forced opened after cooking them.. that means it has gone bad... but if they naturally open on their own during cooking it means they were good. strike 3... the server..... she had a bit of an attitude unlike the first time were were their which the server was nice and attentive... this time she seemed to be annoyed and didnt want to be bothered and was a bit rude... and finally the auto gratuity ... yeah... thats a bunch of BS... for the service that was received... it didn't not warrant the auto gratuity being added to the bill... luckily the manager was able to remove it and we tipped accordingly. Would I be back??? maybe...... since it seems like a hit or miss... or I may stick to the OG location in Fairfax Circle. read more

Written by my 10 year old son: Add 99995 more to this review please, oh and add 3 Michelin stars to this restaurant. Why? You might ask. Because this is one of the greatest restaurants in this state, as their customer service is amazing and all of the waiters are so nice to you, oh and did I mention the food there is so delicious and is full of delicious food I thought I would never like, but when I try it, it tastes amazing. The soups that they serve make the food taste so good and freshly done, which of course is true, as all the food in this restaurant is cooked at your own pace, all for you. I'd greatly recommend this restaurant for people who never get full or for people who are picky eaters. Overall,this restaurant is one of the best eats I've ever had. read more

Bungalow Lakehouse Great place if your looking to enjoy a cigar, beverage and just have a great time relaxing. There are two venues you can smoke and a few areas that if you want to be smoke free as well. Live music on the weekend was great and the food is decent. Best part is the service and people a great place to gather and meet new people as well an enjoy current friends. read more

GomShabuShabu was my go-to place for a good ol'shabu shabu meal on cold or rainy days ... but a new shabu place opened up in Chantilly!! Decided to give it a go I was mad impressed with the PLETHORA of ingredients to fill your shabu shabu pot of goodness. They have these legit LARGE scallops that are included in the buffet menu .. unlike those other places that give you the tiny lil scallops (if at all) that literally mush away in your mouth TT Overall the food, sauce bar, environment was great. The only thing I FELT like they can improve on WAS their service ... I ate here two times since it opened. First time, the service was really slow water not re-filled, second order of food took over 30 mins to come out, etc etc .... but in my more recent experience there, our server, Alex, provided the best service I could ask for ! Seriously haha. I briefly informed him of my first experience and about the wait time, and he made it his agenda to make our experience great this time! Water, napkins, food, never ran out and he was smiling the whole time, even though it was busy. Apparently he was the assistant manager haha. Anyways .. this will be my new go-to place for a good hot spot fix read more

This place is ok but it's not for novice hot potters :) u see what I did there? Ambience is ok. It's well lit but they had run out of the individual burner tables when we got there so we had to share. I found the soup options OK. Wish there was more variety and/or something more mild. Also didn't love the veggie options, even though there were lots to choose from. Our burner wasn't turned on properly so we sat there waiting forever for the soup to heat up - wondering if we can / should fiddle with the temp ourselves. Service was just ok. We needed help but couldn't communicate with the Spanish speaking folks who bring out the raw food - only the waitress speaks English. We also didn't realize there was a sauce station near the back until we finished & paid. Too bad. read more

I came in on a Saturday night before my shift and the bartender, Kara, served me. She was really fast with bringing the menu and drinks and also taking my order. She constantly checked on me, making sure I had everything I needed. 10/10 service and the speed was impeccable. read more

Never thought I would like soup but this is not just soup. It's an all you can eat do it yourself kind of thing. I went yesterday and we had individual pots and raw food came and we got to put it into the broth ourselves. I got the Tom Yum and it was AMAZING. Our server Lucy was awesome with making sure we have everything. Come hungry and ready read more

Went here right when it open so we didn't have to wait. We let the staff know we're first timers and he was very helpful in explaining the process. He was very patient. But the best part was that the food was delicious!!! We only ordered seafood and veggies but that was way more than enough for us. We will definitely come back! read more

Very disappointed. Very limited options to order- no sausage, spam, imitation crab. Only have 6 types of meat, 6-8types of miscellaneous meat items, even vegetables are limited, they even run out of enoki mushroom...... I would recommend you go somewhere else if you want to have a good AYCE hot pot. read more

Been waiting at the host stand for 20 minutes now. Who know how long the people who got here before us have been waiting. Haven't been greeted or anything as of yet. Will update this review if the food changes my mind about this place, but as of right now, this ain't it. Go to the one in Fairfax. Clearly understaffed here. The worst thing about Hot Spot was that the noise level included blaring music that was so loud that we could hardly communicate with the servers or enjoy dinner. The food was generally okay for Asian hot pots. Although it's all you can eat, it was so crowded that they rushed us out to clear the table (well before the allowed 2 hour maximum). Lots of items at the sauce bar except that some were depleted and others mislabeled. The men's restroom also needed cleaning. read more

This place never lets me down. I used to go to the smaller, Fairfax location, but I'll drive further for a brighter and more open space. Although the staff isn't waiting on you like most restaurants, since you do most of the cooking yourself, they're all super attentive. You never have to wait too long to order more food. The quality of the food is always top notch, sauce bar is clean, and the lychee martini is delicious. Honestly, my top shabu place in the DMV. read more

Came upon this restaurant by chance as we were shopping nearby. Wow! From start to finish, it was great. The hostess was so sweet! The servers were very friendly, and knowledgeable. We had really great service too! The food was amazing! So fresh and tasty! Well, and I have to say it was fun as well. Just something whimsical about the experience. Fairly good hot spot with accommodating staff. The atmosphere is trendy and modern. The selection in vegetables, meats, and seafood is pretty vast. In terms of quality, I'm not sure it is at the top of the list compared to others, such as little sheep in Falls Church. For instance, the shrimp was not very fresh and you could tell it was previously frozen. If you compare other items such as the fish tofu, it is also better at other places. They do have a great sauce bar in the back ranging from sesame sauce to chili oil. I would return due to convenience and that it is good for out West. It is AYCE so come hungry! read more

First time to this location but had a great time. Yelp directions took my to the wrong spot but restaurant was not too far from it. Was a little late but still many families and singles in the restaurant. Wait staff was awesome and helped me quickly get setup. Food was fresh and plenty of it. Restaurant is with some little cubbies which gives a lot of seating options. No hot sake. Would definitely return. read more

This restaurant went above and beyond with our experience there. They do not take reservations, but I had a party of 15 on a Saturday night and they let me make a reservation when I called a week ahead. The restaurant called the day of to confirm and we discussed seating. They even honored my request to have all individual pots. The service was amazing. They refilled our drink cups without asking, took their time to explain how it works to people who had never been. They were efficient in taking our orders the whole time. The kitchen was backed up and slow, but that was not the servers fault. The sauce bar was full and the ingredients were fresh. You are allowed 3 items from each category and 6 vegetables. Baby corn and enoki mushrooms were a hit. My favorite meats were fatty brisket, ribeye, marinated pork, and fish tofu. It is all you can eat, so try them all. First time trying Hot Spot and it was pretty good. Got the shabu shabu broth and we ordered a bunch of meat, veggies, and noodles. For $23 it's a great deal for unlimited food. Our server would come by when we were running low on food and we had at least 3-4 rounds. Someone came by often for broth refills and drinks. Happy hour takes like half off specialty drinks and wine until 6:30 (I think). Good service, food, and price. read more

Hot Spot is another place that i have been visited in past 3 years (in Fairfax branch). They serve very small amount of frozen seafood each time we order. I like their individual pot. Their broth were not that great and flavorful, i always order Spicy Chinese. They recently open another branch in Chantilly. I have to admit that the place much more clean and organize. They also have counter individual pots, which is great. 2-stars away that i really cannot give is because of the service, and i mean both locations. The servers always rush and not friendly. read more

Hot Spot in Chantilly is great news for hot pot lovers in AYCE Chantilly area :) You can sit at the bar area for individual hot pot! I get shabu shabu broth because it's mild and goes well with any food (beef, lamb, fish, veggies...etc.) Also, you can add chili oil if you want some spice in your soup! Spicy soup has an interesting flavor that spicy food lovers will enjoy (little bit of mala?). The quality of toppings/food is pretty good. For $23, you get unlimited protein, veggies, and noodles. Also, the broth is refillable and they check on you if your toppings are running low. Great service and great food! It fits perfectly for cold winter windy weather :) Go grab some hot pot when the weather is still cold! read more

One of my favorites! They're kinda pricey so make sure to spend some good time and savor your hotpot. This location is way better and more spacious than the one in Fairfax. We usually go for the family style coz you get 2 kinds of broth per pot. I like the shabu-shabu broth, most of the time partnered with the TomYam or kimchi broth. They charge extra for the paste if you want to add more flavor to it. The refill would be the same broth. I usually het fatty beef brisket, crawfish, shrimp, fish balls, enoki mushroom, clear noodles. There's a groupon deal you might want to check out too. I give 4 stars for the food, ambiance and location. read more

They used to have more food options than now , few of food in menu don't have it anymore , only thing inconvenient is limit food bring out with 3 choices and really little,you have to keep repeat too many time although you already tell them get more than usual read more

The second location of Hot Spot Hot Pot, this Chantilly location is the upgraded version of the original Fairfax location. It has a larger central bar area than the original location and comes with a sauce bar that is twice the size of the Fairfax location, so lines go much quicker. You can still choose between family-style hot pot (large pot with a divider in the middle) and individual style. Induction burners are built into the table so you can control the temperature of your hot pot. The servers are friendly and food is amazing!!! One of my favorite go-to spots for food, drink, and company. read more

Hot Spot (both fairfax and chantilly) are doing "to go" hot pot. We have done it twice now me have used the leftovers to make ramen the next day. It is SUCH a fun date night at home. The price is the same or better for the amount of food you get. I am still too afraid to eat in a restaurant during the pandemic, so having this option is amazing. read more

Service was great and I enjoyed my time there so much that I went back the next night to hang out and drink again. As first-timers to the hot pot style of dining, we needed guidance on where to start, but our server was absolutely amazing, guiding us through the process patiently and enthusiastically. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and cozy, perfect for a chilly day. The meats were incredibly fresh, and the broths were packed with rich, savory flavors. Hot Spot in Chantilly, VA is hands down one of the best all you can eat hot pot restaurants I've ever been to! The food is always fresh, and the selection of meats, vegetables, and broths is extensive, making it a great value for your money. So i been to the ffx location which is good but this Chantilly location is where it's at tho, as soon as me and my bro his wife and daughter arrive we got seated right away. We all decided to get individual pots and the new tables are dope af! They got they own cutout for your pots and everything beside the good food my server Daniel son was great he made sure i had all my meat outs no homo and best off all the 90s slow jams and hip hop really set the mood for me as the weather was rainy and disgusting. read more

I had a great experience with all the waitresses, but not the manager. She is very rude and she humiliated me for not reading the Groupon agreement. She made me feel so low and asked me if I ever read a job offer letter. As a serviceman to this country, I don't deserve to be treated this way especially at a place I enjoy eating at. We have been to five other hot pot restaurants in the DC metro area, but hot spot is our favorite; the one we keep coming back to. There are a lot of great options on their sauce bar, including real sesame oil (not diluted with salad oil). We always enjoy the pork, lamb, shrimps, squids, and watercress. I have found a better hotpot place though such as Indy hotpot in Centreville and 99 hotpot in Fairfax!!!! I love hot pot and Hot Spot is where I always go when I'm craving it. The other day I went on a Sunday night with my friends and it was sooo good. Our server, Alvin, was super chill and helped us choose what food to get. For all you can eat, it's so worth it. Finding a hair in the broth, questionable seafood freshness, and such poor customer service is completely unacceptable. I have never experienced such unsanitary food conditions and such a careless attitude toward a customer's concerns. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

If I need to stuff my face with a Chinese umami bomb fast, I'm probably going to the other places for $15-30. I do want to try the rest of the menu at Cheng's, but it's going to be a drawn-out process for the sake of my wallet. I'd be remiss if I didn't include a comment from my dining partner. She compared the quality and taste of the food at Cheng's to Peter Chang's (either Peter Chang's-Herndon, or Mama Chang Fairfax). A high compliment. But she said the value is better at those places' AYCE options than what we got at Cheng's, and I agree. If you've been to none of these places, you have to try them all at least once.

The salad was pretty refreshing, and I enjoyed the potato salad and broccoli. The service was alright. We cooked our own meat, and our server only came to check on us occasionally. Between the three of us, we shared six different meats (and they actually give you so much per order) along with a few sides that were also unlimited. The thin-sliced brisket was actually pretty fatty, so we are unsure what the fatty brisket plate would have been like. The top blade steak was also quite good with the side of salt and sesame oil, but I recommend keeping a good watch on it to not over-grill it. The thin-sliced pork belly was fatty and juicy. Next, we tried the beef bulgogi, orange beef bulgogi, and cumin pork belly. Marinated meats aren't usually my favorites, but my friends really enjoyed the orange beef bulgogi. The combination was unique and surprisingly, it worked well. The cumin pork belly was interesting and flavorful, and I would recommend ordering one to try. As for the sides, I thought the steamed egg had a weird texture. It was definitely not freshly made. The corn cheese was fine and same with the fried rice cakes. My friends enjoyed the beef radish soup, but I found it a bit too bland. Overall, not my favorite AYCE KBBQ in the area, but it was worth going to once.
