Terrible!!!! Went in because I wanted some hot wings, maybe a snack, and a good pale/light ale. First off, couldn't find a bartender for the first 3 minutes I was there. They had no pale ales on tap and he offered me a sample of all there other beers. I told him I'd try a sample of one of the beers and he proceeded to pour me a full glass of it. While I sat at the bar 3 or 4 waitresses played around behind the bar and discussed how they wouldn't serve one of the customers in the restaurant. After trying to get their attention for a few minutes I jokingly commented asked were you talking about me when you said you wouldn't serve that guy. Finally someone paid attention and I was able to order a pretzel for an appetizer and 7 wings, nitro hotness. The waitress who took my order cautioned that it was the second hottest sauce they have and was kind enough to bring me a sample. It wasn't all that hot at all. Waited around for my pretzel to come out and finally they brought me the wings I'd ordered. When I was about half done with the wings they brought me my appetizer. Then the lights went out in the place for a few seconds. The wings were OK but I've had meatier and hotter. The pretzel was bland and tasteless. Terrible service, terrible atmosphere, mediocre food. The food was all very good, and the service was friendly and attentive. The wings were cooked very well maintaining a nice crunch beneath the sauce. The sauces were very good, and I was not disappointed with the level of heat. I would give a higher rating, but I feel the price point is a bit too high for hand-food. I live in the neighborhood and am very happy Hot Mama's is too! Everything is moderately priced, and you will walk away full. The burgers are great! The great staff at Benedetti's grinds up a special mix just for Hot Mama's, and it is delicious! Not to mention that they are one of the few restaurants in town that actually uses fresh (not frozen) meat for burgers. You can taste the freshness. As for some of the reviews on Yelp that are saying the service was poor or something wasn't perfect with their dinner, keep in mind the restaurant has only been opened a few months. Anyone in the restaurant industry should know it will take a little time to figure out a good system. I have brought several friends in and we are always pleased. Great job guys! read more

OK so let's start with the service. We get there and some waitress tells us it will be a 10 minute wait. So about 10 minutes later a family with 3 adults and 2 small children come in, and are also told it will be about 10 minutes. They clear off a table for us, and we are seated. 10 minutes later we have still not been even greeted by a server, but the family had been seated next to us and their order had already been taken. So finally by the time we even order our food, the family next to us was done with their meal. Now, from what I understood it was our waiter's first night and he wasn't clear that our table was his responsibility. So I felt bad for the guy, obviously he wasn't very well trained and no one told him his tables, and no one gave him a heads up. He also used the excuse "Sorry, we're really full right now." Well no duh, but you are still a restaurant and if you can't run efficiently when it's full then you'll never have returning customers. So now let's talk about the food. I have Crohn's disease and I'm extremely sensitive to spicy food, but I love a good chicken wing with a sweet and mild sauce. I specifically asked him, "Have you tried the asian honey mustard sauce? Is it spicy at all?" and he said, "Absolutely no spice whatsoever." So, naturally, I get it and I can't eat it because it's has too much spice in it. I understand that chicken wings are a traditionally spicy food, but restaurants need to label that there is some kind of pepper or hot spice being used, or else they will make people sick. And on to the prices. I got 7 wings for $7.50, and a house salad for $7.50. The house salad was about a cup of mixed greens, and some croutons, and way too much dressing. So I paid $15 for a cup of greens, some wings I couldn't eat, and terrible service. The whole ordeal took about an hour and a half. We will never be coming back here. Go to Buffalo Wild Wings for cheap wings, quick service, and smiling people. read more

The final straw was a 2nd wait person walking by and no service.. We walked out. Seems there's all new faces.. We have been coming here on our visits to Eugene for the past year.. I am a gigantic wing fanatic! I always go to Buffalo Wild Wings and thought their wings were awesome until I went to Hot Mamas Hot Wings! Literally, after I took the first bite out of the Smoked Maple Bacon wings (I think that's what they were called or something similar), I screamed out in ENJOYMENT! They were so delicious! After eating 10 of them, I wanted to order another 10! If you like buffalo wings this is a must go place! If you are with a bunch of people make sure to order the pretzel and tatter tots as an appetizer because the wings took a while to come out! It was worth the wait though! Check it out! read more

I just got home from Hot Mama's Wings and thought I would share my experience. When our waitress came to take orders from my friends and I she told us they were out of several things, which was too bad (they really do have some unique sounding dishes) but not a big deal. We finally settled on the artichoke dip appetizer to share and also ordered each of our main courses. 30 minutes later we had received none of our food. We stopped the waitress to ask what the problem was and she told us that they had run out of the dip and had to make more from scratch. It would have been nice if, when she found out about the delay in the arrival of our dip, our waitress had asked us if: a) we would like something else or b) we would like her to put through the orders for our main courses so we could have something arrive fairly soon. Instead, she told us nothing. 45 minutes after we ordered it, the dip was brought to our table. 10 minutes later two of my friends received their meals. They ate, had their plates cleared, and received their check while two of us sat watching, as we had still not received our main course. About an hour and 15 minutes after we had initially placed our order, the two of us who had been waiting asked if we could speak with a manager. The manager came out and apologized, saying they were still working out the kinks in the system. This explanation surprised me because serving food, in my opinion, is not a "kink" of running a restaurant. One might even go so far as to say that serving food is a restaurant's primary function. To make matters worse, I had ordered wings. The restaurant is called Hot Mama's Wings. Cooking and servings wings should especially not be a "kink" in their business model. Ultimately, we got our food and the manager offered to comp everything for the two of us who had waited the longest. The artichoke dip and the buffalo chicken sandwich were good, but the wings were disappointing for a place whose name includes the word "wings." The waitresses were nice and I liked the atmosphere but I didn't go there for nice waitresses and a pleasant atmosphere. I went there for food and the food, while slightly above average on the whole, was not worth the wait. In summary, if I ever want some mediocre food more than an hour after I want it, I can either wait in my living room for 45 minutes and then go to my kitchen and cook something or I could go to Hot Mama's Wings. read more

YUCK! Finally tried this place and the wings are HORRIBLE. Obviously frozen and dumped in a deep-fat fryer. The 'blue cheese' sauce tastes like mayo and the 'BBQ' sauce tastes like ketchup. Perhaps some of their other food is OK (I'll never know), but don't get the wings. read more

Hot Mama's Wings serves great food and has excellent service! I love the staff and the food is always consistently delicious!! BEST BURGER IN TOWN!! The patty, buns and toppings are always fresh and delicious!! I would recommend this place if you are in the mood for a great burger, chicken wings or strips and fries etc.... Excellent choice of dipping sauces too! The bar is nice, always a good selection of local brews and a full bar with a nice drink menu! Meh. Menu: Good. Looked good with lots of appetizing options. I ordered the wings with a side of tots since it was my first visit. Value: Fine. I'm OK with paying a-buck-a-wing if they're great and a $4 HUGE side of tater tots. A friend ordered the pretzel dog and it looked fabulous for the price. Food: Average. The wings were tepid, almost room temperature when they arrived. The meat was a little dry and so was the amount of sauce. Pretty disappointed with the wings. The tots, on the other hand, were hot, crispy, and delicious. Service: Poor. Very slow to get menus, take orders, get drinks, etc. One of our party arrived just as we put in our orders. He didn't get his single beer until we were already finished eating. I won't go back. Glad I tried, but they need to step it up on the service and food. read more

My new obsession for everything gluten free!!! Being celiac it's very difficult to find a restaurant dedicated to serving so much variety of gluten free options let alone finding one that is so conscientious about avoiding cross contamination. Hot Mama's does BOTH!!! I'm obsessed with the chicken fried bacon and onion rings!! I literally had not found a restaurant in the 17 years since I was diagnosed with Celiac that offered SO MUCH delicious gluten free foods. Not the healthiest (all the fried foods) but boy, oh boy, are they GOOD!! I'm a part time resident in Eugene and it's starting to be a joke on Facebook to see if my friends can keep up with my "check-ins" when I'm in town :) Was just there for 2 weeks and the count was 3..will be there for the summer and I'm sure the count will be a new record!! There aren't many wings places in town, but even if there was I think Hot Mama's would still be among the best. Their wings are delicious! The open mic night is fun, the happy hour and daily specials great and the menu is amazing. I always have a hard time choosing what to order because there are so many things on the menu that sound so good. The fried pickles are my absolute favorite thing. If you like wings (or burgers, sandwiches, salads, mac and cheese, etc...) you should definitely go eat at Hot Mama's. Wednesday is 75 cent wing night! read more

This was an amazing little restaurant! Great food, great service, and the vast majority of their menu is gluten free or can be made that way, and it was AWESOME! We had a large group, and we shared lots of the items, so I tried GF deep fried pickles, onion rings, deep fried cheddar balls, chicken strips, deep fried reese's peanut butter cups -- all GF and delicious! After a couple years of going to Hot Mama's, I've finally decided to write a review, because as important as it is to know the bad places to avoid, you should also know the best. I use to live a block away from this restaurant, so when family would come down, I would recommend it and we would go there. I have tried everything from the sandwiches to burgers, apps,salads, drinks, wings, and have always left happy, and full. Prices are very competitive to any restaurant and the fact is, it's better quality. My dad still stops by this place on his way back to our hometown to grab the bacon wrapped jalapenos. I love the .75 cent wing night on Wednesday, but there really is not a single thing on the menu I thought wasn't good. It's good to see there's still places out there with a family feel, and really good food. I'll continue to come to this place for years to come! read more

I ordered the bbq wings mild. I explicitly made sure that they were to be made mild. For the record I like spicy food, just not all the time. I'm not new to eating really spicy food. When I got them they were so spicy they were inedible. The explanation I received was that they make their sauces different every day and don't measure ingredients "they eyeball it". That was the most ridiculous excuse for screwing something up I've ever received. It says MILD right on the menu. I was looking around for the hidden camera thinking I was on a prank show. They seriously gave me 1 million scoville unit wings. I also had the ruben sandwich. The meat was chewy and dry not very good but at least it was edible. I was really disappointing by the wings. We had already waited a good 30 minutes for our food we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for replacement wings. I asked them to remove it from the bill since they screwed up. The waitress said oh they are not that spicy. I told her to smell them. She smelled them and went "whoa" and I was like YEAH. They insisted they can't remove them from our bill and that they will make a replacement. We left and never coming back. read more

My wife and two little ones (4 and 6) had our first meal at Hot Mamas last night. We loved it. The staff were very welcoming; the brews/drinks were terrific; and the food was delicious. I highly DO NOT recommend eating at Hot Mama's wings on West 13th st. In Eugene, Oregon. That was The Worst restaurant I have ever ate at. Bad Customer service for instance: Took 1 hour to get my food $13 for a burnt hamburger with a burnt egg. $1 Dollar for two small ranch Dressings and she rolled her eyes when I asked for some ranch. We love this restaurant! Since we discovered it, we have been back at least once a month (we rarely go out to eat and this is where we love to go). The service is amazing and the staff is very personable. We are greeted like family every time we go. We have yet to bring our boys, but I hear it is a great place to take kids (probably because of the caring staff). The drinks are wonderful and they personalize them to order. The food is AMAZING. I enjoyed my experience and the only negative thing I have to say is that their prices are slightly expensive, but not too much over the average you'd pay for good quality wings.
