Like others, I also picked this company due to the great reviews and they definitely measured up to the 5 star rating that other customers had given them. Cody was the lead of our crew of 3 and he knew exactly what he was doing. It was obvious he was a VERY experienced mover. This team efficiently and carefully moved our 3 bedroom home in just about 3.5 hours. We had heavy bedroom sets, a curio, dolphin sculpture, step tonsil, reclining couches and countless of boxes and bins. Additionally, we had a washer and dryer on the second floor. They wrapped everything up and they carefully and efficiently loaded/stacked the truck to ensure nothing moved or was at risk of getting damaged. I can keep going on, but you get the idea. No job is too hard for these guys and they are good at what they do. I rarely give yelp reviews this long, but I feel compelled since they did such an awesome job. My move happened in September, so I'm afraid it's taken me quite a while to decide to submit this review, but I finally decided that it's important to give people considering this service a heads up. I was very unhappy with Honolulu Movers. I was told by the person who booked my move that the movers would have on gloves and masks, and they didn't. When I asked where their masks were, one guy wrapped a t-shirt around his nose and mouth. During the move they sweated on my furniture and didn't even bother to wipe it off. I had myself moved anything that wasn't large and heavy to my new place, so there was no packing or small things to manage so I thought the move would be a snap. I didn't anticipate how much could go wrong. One of the movers did not seem very experienced. He tried to move things without adequate wrapping, and what he did wrap was not very good. He wrapped a bookcase without removing the shelves, and the shelves crashed during the move. I noticed after they left that one of the studs to keep a shelf level was missing. (The other guy removed the shelves from another bookcase and gave me the shelving hardware to keep.) He even wrapped a quilt around only half of my couch, which was a bit bizarre. My portable air conditioner had a gash in it because of the move, so I got a little discount (which I had to negotiate up because what they offered was pathetic). I noticed after they left, however, that a leg of my couch was stripped of some of the wood because they hadn't bothered to wrap the legs. Over the next few days, I became aware of several other areas of minor but clearly visible damage to various wood pieces. The movers were nice and the person who did most of the talking (who seemed to be less experienced) seemed eager to please. I think they were nice people, but not good movers. I have had many moves to and from the mainland, and I had more damage during this short local move than in any one of my national moves. I would certainly never recommend the services of Honolulu Movers. When I gave this feedback to the company, I was asked what I might want to pay me for the damages, so I believe that the company wants to keep consumers who complain happy. I believe it's more important, though, that the public be put on notice of the shortcomings, because some of them were health-related, rather than receive further compensation for the damages. read more

I moved last Sunday using Honolulu Movers for a 3-4 bedroom home. I couldn't be more pleased. They provided excellent service. They called prior to their estimated arrival time per my request. Showed up on time with a crew of 4 movers, moving truck and a van. They provided all the wrapping and blankets, it's inclusive in the hourly rate they quoted me as well as the gas used. I didn't need boxes since I packed already, although they do provide them upon request for a fee. They also have a 2-3 hr minimum. I feel The price is comparable to others and I like the all inclusive price/quote. I have very heavy furnitures plus, 3 bedroom sets one of which is requires careful disassemble, piano, and a ton of things up in the attic. All my furniture was carefully wrapped. After 4 1/2 hours of hard labor, these guys got them all moved to my new home. No damages noted. crew members that took care of my move: Ilya, Daniil, Igor, and one more but didn't get his name. It is Covid time, in a pandemic and we've just gone to a happy but really stressful process of buying our own home. Another nightmare we thought we'd have to face was moving... but Honolulu Movers were simply efficient, careful, knowledgeable and diligent. Before they start moving/packing our things, they asked as much info that will make their work faster and safer so that the customer doesn't waste their time and money. They also did not waste time on trial and error - the team of four that came to help us move looked like they had a team leader who knew a lot and easily figured things out. So when a furniture or appliance is very challenging (like our very bulky massage chair, 2-door fridge and an insanely big heavy bed frame) a mover would go to the team leader & he knew exactly how to do it, showing the rest of the team how to correctly move it out the door. My 2-door fridge was out the house in 5 minutes or maybe less!!! I also asked them to move an appliance from the new house to a different part of the house and they had no problem doing us that favor. ***And fyi - I was turned down by another moving company who has good reviews here on yelp. That other 'locally owned company' turned me down over the phone because they are - in their exact words - "NOT INTERESTED IN MOVING MY MASSAGE CHAIR, 2-DOOR FRIDGE AND RECLINING BED FRAME" - so much for the business of 'Making Moves"! I was sooo down after hearing that and worried that I might face the same dilemma with other movers from thereon. Then I called Honolulu Movers next as I went down the list here on Yelp and asked if they can move those three appliances/furniture and if they need the measurements of anything (our door, appliances, etc.), Courtney promptly said - "no worries, our team will be able to do it for you." It was a sigh of relief but still worried because it took Oahu Movers about 45minutes to an hour figuring how to put that fridge inside our house 2 years prior (i have no complains though as they were a good company too but now I prefer Honolulu Movers more after seeing their strategic ability - that is if I need other types of moving service or asked for a recommendation) And the time spent by Honolulu Movers for the whole move was more than half of what we expected. Me and my husband are very relieved because we didn't have to pay as much as we have calculated based on our move 2 years prior. Lastly, i wanna add how pleasant it was talking to Courtney and how professional the whole team was. It is a very well organized company and it gave us that feeling of assurance knowing that every single one of our appliance/furniture is insured - but didn't need that since everything was handled & moved properly. We compared Honolulu Movers with other Hawaii-based movers when we wanted to relocate from Southern California back to our home in Aiea, and found them to be competitive in all services, including insuring our goods. Pricewise, they were hands down the best. When it came time to do the job, their outfit in California arrived more or less on time and did a great job packing our goods securely - they were experts in wrapping! The goods arrived two weeks ahead of their estimated date in Hawaii. Everything was delivered within a few days intact and no worse for the journey they went through. They did enter our house with shoes and without laying a runner to catch the dirt however. Furniture wasn't reassembled except for the sofa. They also charged our credit card for the balance without notifying us via invoice, so beware of that as well. read more

Honolulu Moving Company was awesome from the beginning of the moving process to the end. I reached out to multiple moving companies on Oahu for quotes and Honolulu Movers was the first to contact me (within 1 hour!). Jon was extremely helpful in estimating how many movers would be needed, how much time it would take, and providing me with the pricing. I was also able to lock in my preferred day and time for the move with 1 phone call and 1 follow up email to confirm all of the specifics. I was quoted a start time between 9-10am. On the day of the move I got a text from the movers around 9:15 apologizing for running late and that they would be there in 15min. They arrived at 9:30 (well within their quoted window, so much for being "late") took a look at what needed to be packed and immediately started working. All furniture, large items and electronics were wrapped in plastic or blankets or both and were all handled with care. The two movers operated as a team and made quick work of my apartment. The unload was just as seamless as the pack. My items were again handled with care and placed exactly where I needed them to be. I am 100% satisfied with the services provided, will use Honolulu Moving Company for my next move, and will recommend them to anyone that is moving on Oahu! read more

Clock started after paper work was signed instead of earlier. They made solid steady progress and finished the job in a reasonable amount of time. Needed them to just move items instead of packing/moving. All in all, our things got moved. King size bed, big dresser, 2 night stands, 2 medium boxes, and a 40 inch TV. I actually rate them a 4.5 star because a few improvements would help get it to a 5: When speaking to a rep to set up appt, there was too much background noise from other reps and a loud tv. The guy sounded irritated after multiple times i said i couldnt hear because of it. Brand new carpet and none of the movers had the courtesy to remove their shoes... Or ask at least if it was ok to wear them. 2 hour minimum was fine, although i felt like they milked the time just a bit by driving ridiculously slow (20 minute drive turned into 35-40) and felt they didnt stop my time until AFTER they cleaned up their materials/supplies. Would use them again if the price was right, as this time their price was competitive. $75 deposit wasn't too much either. Make sure you READ THEIR CONFIRMATION EMAILS. it states ALL THE FINE LINES.
