This location is huge and has just about everything you could want for crafts, décor, or DIY projects. The selection is amazing, with tons of brands, colors, and styles to choose from, whether you're looking for fabric, paints, or seasonal decorations. I especially love browsing the beading and cording section since there are so many colors and styles to work with for different projects. Prices are great, especially with their regular sales, so it always feels like you're getting a good deal. Between the size of the store and the range of options, this is one of my favorite places to stock up on supplies and get inspired for new projects. read more

I love hobby lobby but it's crazy how every time I come there's always really long lines and one person on a register. I've worked at a hobby lobby before in San Antonio and any time a line got long they quickly brought people to the front and the issue was solved. This one is either severely understaffed or they don't care about their employees. Prices are great as always, but help out your staff please. WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS' Bought globe bulb patio lights (3) and went to put them up, first string I connected, globes exploded, started smoking, boxed them all up, to return them. It took 1 associate 2 managers to plug/unplug the lights, (one strand arched/smoked when connected) tried to only refund me for one strand, I was adamant, I need them all replaced (was not gonna trust the other two, 35 minutes later, they finally gave me a store gift card, refused to credit my card. Oh how I've always loved Hobby Lobby! Over the years I have shopped at varies locations and never had problems. But honestly I have not seen such a dirty bathroom!! It was a huge turn off to think this indicates the way a store thinks and prioritizes cleanliness for its customers and staff. Marcus in the framing department is THE BEST! I brought in a piece that they had previously framed and we had taken apart and then decided we wanted to hang again. Marcus cheerfully re-assembled it, thoroughly cleaning the glass and removing all finger prints. He sealed the back and reattached the wire and only charged me $5. He had it ready in 24 hours and provided excellent customer service all around. I have shopped at Hobby Lobby for years and have never been moved to write a review. I came in here with the lady to look for some items that she needed to make something for ME and to look for some replacement fake flowers and such for the front porch. Now normally I find Hobby Lobby to be quite boring with 15 people in line to check out of the one checker. In this location it seemed quite different. All items that we were seeking were found, and with this being a large store, there were quite a lot of items to look at and keep me entertained. As we entered the dreaded checkout area, it was moving quickly and one checker who had just closed, pulled her sign away and said she would take care of us. This was a first for me at Hobby Lobby and earned a second star. Follow this lead and we will be back! From the moment I step foot inside, I noticed (what I assume be a manager) an employee watching me. *Take note, I have colored hair, tan/brown skin and had a darker toned outfit on. I began my journey through hobby lobby with a shadow. I noticed him "checking in" every location I went. Dude never checked in to see if I needed help...even though I did...but that's besides the point. I should not feel discriminated based on my appearance to shop, if that's the case maybe y'all should have membership cards. Rating is for customer service manager. On a Saturday morning, does nothing but watch 2 check out lines get backed up. After he directs me which line to get in, refuses to let me complete exchange because I'm not in the right line. So forced me to get to the back of the already long return line. My issue is for a "customer service" manager he should be helping the lines go by faster and jump on a register or offered to complete my transaction. I was in search for a couple of items for my new home. This store is located within the parking lot of Best Buy and Ross's. Being new to the area I get slightly lost in the Southwark Meadow area since there is tons of stores within the area. Hobby Lobby is very similar to Michael's. I enjoyed the fact that Hobby Lobby offered coupons online, has a lot of items on sale, and sells cute furniture. I found a few possible cute pieces for the home. The check out area was a little slow but I can honestly blame it on some of the people who shop here. Someone was using a check?!?!? Who pays with checks anymore? It was grandma and it took awhile for her to check out all together. Cash is even old fashion now a days. I was in this Hobby Lobby yesterday and really lucked out. I didn't actually find the color of yarn I was looking for but while looking through the clearance section I found an $11 pair of knitting needles marked down to $4, $6 skein of yarn marked down to $3, and a mesh cylinder needle case marked down from $8 to $3. So I got about $25 worth of merchandise for under $10. That made me happier than a 40% off one item coupon could have. The location and parking are pretty good at this location. The only clerk I encountered was the cashier and she was very nice. I had occasion to be in the restroom and it was nice and clean even though it was the end of the day near closing time. So, normally I don't write negative posts, but what I got yesterday was pretty awful. Keep in mind that I love craft stores and even Hobby Lobby. This is particularly related to the service. Anyway I was getting ready to check out and the lines were already pretty long, there were just 2 cashiers and a manager (who couldn't be bothered to be on a register). So, that was the first issue. Anyway, I ended up waiting about 20 minutes before I got to checkout. Once I finally get to the checkout, the cashier barely speaks to me, then the phone starts ringing. She picks it up while she is checking my items (why did the manager who is not on a register answer???) So she is talking on the phone while checking me out. Once she finishes with my items, she is still on the phone and rather than place the person on hold, she looks at me and points at the screen where my total is, which was so rude and unbelievable that I had to look at the person behind me to make sure this was actually happening. So I kindly ignore that and wait for her to get off the phone. I tell her I'm a teacher and normally am given the 10% teacher discount. She tells me that they only give that if you are using a school card or check (In all my time coming here, no cashier has ever made me do that. They just give me the 10% off) I tell her this and she calls the manager over who condescendingly confirms what she has said. The cashier then she has the nerve to look at me and smirk. Seriously?? I've never had such a piss poor customer service experience at Hobby Lobby. I returned all the items I purchased. I'll be shopping at Joann's from now on. FYI, at Joann's they give teachers a 15% discount and you don't need to use a school card or check. read more

Terrible. Nobody that works there wants to be there and that is clear. Staff is not knowledgeable of where anything is and I had to do an exchange yesterday and they had 3 lanes open but only one was doing exchanges/returns. I waited I'm not joking 20 minutes. The other two cashiers lines were completely empty but for some reason nobody else could do it. I'm 7 months pregnant and there is no operable bathroom at this location either. Please save yourself the trouble. Stay away! The customer service is beyond rude to almost hostile. I was ignored repeatedly asking a customer representative for something. Check out is extremely slow with constant price checks(I don't think they use Barcodes which really slows things down.) I know that Hobby Lobby is a Christian store, but I don't think their God will smite them if they sale a few items for Chanukah. A few years ago I asked if they had Chanukah crafts and the customer service representative said that they only sold Christmas holiday items. read more

I tried to return some items here. The cashier, Becky, was rude and stated she could not return my items. She laughed at how old my receipt was and pointed to their return policy. So, I understand it says that they can not accept returns after 60 days. BUT, if I dont provide my receipt they give store credit! I'm fine with store credit!!! I'm fine with 1/2 price!!! I went and looked to see if they still had the product and they did! So Hobby Lobby needs to either look at their return policy or train their people on having common sense! They have never let me down. After having a generally miserable experience at every store I've visited, I resorted to HL being the last place I'd go for general supplies. Excluding the few items they sell exclusively, I haven't gone to one in months. Now, here I am living in a new place, very close to this location, decided, what the heck, I'll try it. At all locations I've encountered staff who aren't overly zealous to help. But now, I actually find staff who actually helps, at the very least, tries sincerely. This is a vast improvement from all my other experiences. I just got done returning a few items, making a purchase, and retrieving coupons. The young lady, Ashley, was superb. Patient, helpful, and was able to process my transaction and returns easily. Apparently now, they can look up my transaction by my card. That's been a huge issue for me. Now, that huge issue is gone, staff is overall much more pleasant. This makes my serious resistance to this big box, a lot less of a thing now. I can comfortably say I will go here to get what I need, and won't have an anxiety attack thinking about it. read more

This review is specifically for Michael in the custom framing department. This guy is a framing rockstar. I brought a couple prints in hoping to get some ready-made frames and custom mats done. I had a few questions about putting together the frames, and he answered all of my questions very clearly and expertly. He also took the time to demonstrate each step of the process, walking me through the entire process at his bench. By the time he was done, I had two framed prints and had even gotten an education in framing as a bonus. I am so happy with the results, and feel like I can tackle the next one myself. This is supposed to be a review for The Hobby Lobby at 183 and Lamar. I would give these people a 10 plus plus plus because they were so helpful to me and my granddaughter. ............ First they found 20 really obscure lights that I've been driving all around to find. Then hard-working Samantha loaded a bunch of heavy furniture into my van with gentle care. And finally my granddaughter suddenly had to use the bathroom, but the store was closed. Most places would turn us away, but not Samantha. She she ran inside with my four-year-old granddaughter and got her safely to the restroom, all washed up with soap, and back out to a tired grandpa. WOW! ....... Thank you Samantha.
