I purchased a Eurway buffet many years ago, and recently the slides in two of the drawers started to fail. I ordered several sets of drawer pulls online , but nothing would fit my drawers. I contacted Eurway and asked how I could replace these drawer pulls and they directed me to Collectic Home. I spoke to Joni Greeson on the phone and she was very helpful and understanding. I knew that this was a very unusual request and a long shot, but I didn't want to replace the whole buffet, so I thought this was the only feasible option. Joni invited me to come by Collectic Home and see if they could help. I brought in the drawer and an employee was able to hammer in a new rail in the drawer and measured to find the pulls needed, Joni gave me two sets of brand new pulls in the packaging and directed me through the showroom. I asked where I could pay for the pulls and she said that it was no charge, I could not believe it! The pulls fit perfectly and my buffet is functional again. Thanks again to Joni and her staff. I received excellent customer service this past week. I was in the store four times trying to decide size and fabric for two small ottomans. Joni was very patient with my searching. She asked pertinent questions and help me aim to maximizing the look and function of the furniture and room. I am in total shock that collectic home has an average review of 3.5 stars. Most of the negative reviews seem to be at least 3-5 years old. I want to provide my perspective on this business and perhaps how the business may have addressed the criticisms from the past reviews. About 2-3 months ago, I stumbled upon this store after visiting Trader Joe's. Since this store is in Westlake, I was fully convinced that it would carry the most expensive furniture brands in the Austin area - especially since I have not encountered a single budget-friendly furniture store in Austin (does Design within reach aka "design out of reach" ring a bell?). I was extremely surprised at how affordable the furniture is for the quality of products the store sells. Joni, the owner of this store, has immaculate taste and is incredibly well aware of the best-valued brands in the market. I have been doing extensive searches for a modern bed frame and have found 1 brand that came somewhat close to my price point at the quality I expect (modloft, rove concepts). That was from at least 20 hours of web searches. Joni had it all down, showed me one of the models for Modloft she carried in the store and recommended something far superior to anything that I found. Her knowledge of the industry is absolutely amazing. I'm no expert but not a novice either. Over the years I have shopped extensively in North Carolina and encountered all the top tier brands in America (Henredon, Hickory White, Century Furniture, Michell Gold and Bob Williams (modern) so I'm no average consumer. Most people I encounter working in this industry have deep knowledge in 1-2 brands. Joni knows hundreds and can start naming 10 brands off the top of her head (whether it is lighting, rugs, desks, lamps, bed frames) and instantly show you models from her kiosk. She REALLY knows what's out there at YOUR price points. I can go on and on about the pieces she selects and how wonderful her pieces are in the store. For a mid-tier priced modern furniture store, I think she has the best selection of items I have seen. Hands down way better than the garbage you see at places like Crate and Barrel, West Elm or Pottery Barn (sadly which most people think are upscale but are not). It's really unfortunate that her store only has 3.5 stars because of her past reviews as I think she is SO well-deserving of a 5. This is an epic store, I love her knowledge across the industry, and I love her customer service (including the delivery staff who were awesome). I can't stress how great this place is. I had an absolutely Amazing experience shopping for new furniture at Collectic Home & I highly recommend coming here to not only receive exceptional service, interior design ideas from their amazing team, but also to support an independent furniture store that treats their customers with the highest level of respect and help! I was shopping around at several furniture stores looking for several new items from American Leather for my new apartment. The other stores had the usual feel to them, but Collectic Home was very different. When I entered I was immediately greeted & made to feel at home & supported as I looked around the store with the help of Joni, the owner, herself as well as one of her team members. Joni was Fantastic - she clearly knows a lot about Interior Design -- I showed her pictures of my new apartment & she knew exactly what I was looking for & what direction to point me in. There were also a couple of times where she could have upsold me, but told me that I really wouldn't want that option because the standard style or a different (less expensive) option was better -- that's the true customer service and care that I love to experience when I am shopping for something. Putting the client first & actually caring about helping them make the BEST decision for them. And in turn that will inevitably lead to much more of my business down the road. I had another furniture store stop planned after Collectic, but abandoned that idea all together as I decided to buy everything I needed from Collectic for the support that I received. Not only was the support amazing but I also love to support local independent businesses, Joni had a great conversation with me about her experience opening her own furniture store & how she set out on her own path with her own store after not liking how so many of the franchises were selling lower quality products. She wanted to sell high quality products with great service. Overall it was a fantastic experience shopping at Collectic Home, I will no doubt be a returning customer as I purchase more furniture in the future! Joni and the gang helped us find the perfect sleeper sofa for The Bloomhouse, our unique vacation rental home here in Austin. They had a wide range of styles and fabrics to choose from. Production delays at the factory due to Covid were unavoidable, but Collectic kept us informed and helped us navigate those uncharted waters, proactively suggesting that we switch to a slightly different fabric that could be produced and shipped sooner. Ah, The opulence of west Austin. This place does have a wonderful selection of modern home decor, but it is *very* spendy (and more than just a little snooty.) Nestled amongst the Dallasesque pockets of Beecaves retail establishments, Collectic Home is a beautiful store with a lot of good design & decor ideas. They carry art and furniture from local designers - but at a hefty premium.... I found an entire dining room set, *identical* to one here for HALF as much at The Khazana (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-khazana-austin). I've bought several pieces from Collectic Home over the past three years and have been VERY happy with the customer service, prices and selection. I shop around, and as some other reviewers have noted, Collectic Home doesn't always have the lowest prices on some items. In those cases, I just buy the item at the other store with the better price. In my experience, though, they have great prices on chairs in particular. And, unlike Four Hands, I was able to take home furniture to see if it would work in my space. It took me three tries to find the perfect dining room chairs, but the owner Joni said she wanted to be sure her customers were happy and that the pieces they buy work in their space. I have too much time on my hands. I wander streets and alleyways looking for inspiration that I never receive. I wake up at odd times, and jot down cute little notes in this writing pad I have on my end table. I have been known to disappear from random beds, and reappear in others. I get in elevators that I shouldn't, and take them to the top of downtown buildings. Then, I can peer into office windows and get a quick glimpse of the way people set up their workspaces. This is not a problem for me. It is at times problem for others. Those who have come to know me well, know all of this well. Why? I used to dream of the white collar lifestyle. Fancy office. Cute, yet brash secretary. The high rise apartment, straight from a catalog, that is printed in limited supply. That is what makes me restless. Design, architecture, layout, color schemes, flow of individual space, fashion,.....etc. So, that being said, I have been known to visit furniture stores, with no intention of buying anything. I am a blue collar worker, after all. Yet, that doesn't stop me from having a white collar wandering eye. Thus, I found myself in Collectic the other day. Fantastic selection. Truly. A wide range of modern to classic styles. Mandy, I think that's her name, came by to ask if I needed help. And not in a creepy, "this guy might steal something" sort of way. They actually engaged me in conversation, and that is no minor feat to talk to someone like me in that neighborhood. I noticed they were awesome to just about everyone they talked to. Something tells me it's hard to keep that demeanor all day. The problem(s) though, is that the showroom is extremely cluttered. Too much stuff in too little space. No room for perspective. I could see how it would be hard to contrast and compare items. That is not good for such an upscale price tag. Who wants to mess with returns on a $1200.00 Ottoman that ultimately doesn't end up matching your living room? The outside display items could have a little more thought put into them. They are the first thing a customer sees when walking up. Altogether, I liked the place, but it could use some fine tuning. read more

This store is definitely worth a visit. Besides having a huge selection of cool, contemporary furnishings at affordable prices, Joni and the team are very helpful. Whether you are feathering your first nest, or updating the one you have, you will probably see something that you'll fall in love with. Few stores ellicit such a pull on me that I forget financial planning 101 and spend my vacation savings on great home furnishings. Collectic Home is the reason I'm not going to Cabo this October, and I'm ok with that, cause my living room and master bedroom look hip and fresh, with pieces I know I won't be seeing in everyone else's house. How are they with service? Well, I had a problem with a rug I bought(the rug maker's fault, not mine or Collectic Home's) and Joni was on the phone in a New York minute, calling the vendor to get a replacement. I feel that they really care about customer satisfaction. Finally, if you are design challenged, color blind(as my boyfriend is) or just don't know what should go in which space, for a nominal charge which is waived if you spend a threshold amount at the store, the team at Collectic Home will come out to your house, take a look and make great recommendations. Whether you admit to your friends that you had help in decorating your home is up to you, but let's keep Austin local and support a great store. read more

We have purchased a number of items from Collectic over the last year or two. Customer service was pretty awful at first, but we finally found someone who was helpful. Of course, that only happened after we made a purchase and then returned. Our most recent purchase of a buffet was a total bust. This buffet was beautiful, but it was so poorly designed that the weight of the piece itself was enough to distort the entire frame. Any lateral movement would cause all the doors to distort and the entire unit to lean... It was the flimsiest, junkiest piece of furniture I had ever seen, and it was priced at $1500! We bought the thing not knowing that if you actually put anything in it or on it, it would likely fall apart. Needless to say, I didn't accept delivery of that piece of junk when it finally arrived and I saw how bad it actually was (delivery drivers spent 15-20 minutes trying to get the doors lined up but anytime you touched the unit it settled into a new position). I had the drivers take it away. I was disappointed, but not upset really. However, my interaction with our sales rep after the fact was rather upsetting. As a previous customer and very likely returning customer, I was very disappointed with how things were handled. I was given attitude and told that they "did me a favor" by even accepting the return when I inquired about only receiving a partial refund. I was then told that the poor quality of the item was simply because my floors were uneven, like I'm a stupid person who doesn't know better... Not only do I not have uneven floors, but that doesn't make any damn sense anyway. Anyway, we're done with Collectic and their sister company, Eurway. If I'm going to buy $4000 sofas and $1500 buffets, I not only expect the furniture to be of a higher-quality than Office Depot or Wal Mart furniture, but I expect to be treated with a little respect when there is an issue with a product. I'll never walk into that store again. There are other options, and nothing they sell is unique to them anyway. This kind of crap is probably exactly why Eurway no longer has a storefront. read more

They had a lot of nice furniture pieces but customer service is lacking. In any modern store there are 3 things that I look for. 1. Cleanliness 2. Friendliness 3. Great Products The good: Store was very clean and they had a wide selection to look at. The bad: Staff is not very friendly... well Christa was the only exception. She actually went through the catalog and really tried to help. At the end of the day I ordered a stand up computer desk from them. Will I ever return? Probably not. I dropped by Thursday afternoon to check out the store and to spend some of our $55k budget to furnish our new house. When I tried to make eye contact with the two employees that were on duty, I was ignored! Granted, they were with other customers, but to walk right by me as I am looking at you and you ignore me not once, but twice, is Inexcusable! I went into Collectic Home after having an awful experience with Pottery Barn. Miraya was instantly empathetic to my situation (and lack of couch) after we returned the one to PB. She came over to our home, helped me with colors, size, and a number of different brands. She was incredibly patient with us as we decided. And the guys who came and delivered the couch were fabulous! They helped me move a few pieces while they were there, and were meticulous & absolutely delightful. Both of them have worked for the company for over 20 years, which says a lot. Finally, every time I went to the store, I brought my 3 boys (ages 6 and under) and they were incredibly kind offering toys and jelly beans to help the process go smother. I expected Collectic to be way out of my price range when I wandered in one day, and was pleasantly surprised to find some great deals on couches and chairs. I subsequently bought a lovely custom covered couch and love seat, and a cool modern chair. The service was great and the selection of interesting modern pieces (but not so modern that you can't imagine living with them) was really good. I will definitely shop there again. read more

I was looking for a chair for my office and stopped in. Sales staff SERIOUSLY lacking with the exception of Mandy Boutillier who was helpful. She even emailed me photos. I walked around without being greeted on another day. I loved a chair and bought it. Picked it up today- and the woman who checked me out- did not say thank you or good bye as we left with the chair. I will not return. F- on your service. I agree with another reviewer- not being greeted in an expensive store is a serious turn off. read more

Great service and great selection. We came here about an hour before they closed on a Sunday night with our two young boys. While this place is filled with beautiful stuff we didn't feel that the folks working here were watching over us with that "you shouldn't bring kids to this kind of place" look. They definitely engaged us and our children and were very helpful. Joni took the time to give us some background for some of their fantastic rugs. We were able to find just what we were looking for. Joni even chatted with the boys and got them settled into the fun kids area at the back of the store. This store has a lot of different styles of furniture. although the quality varies pretty wildly. I didn't think most it was too expensive for what it is but it seems like a place where you can to bargain with them. I would probably go there again for a quick fix (they sell things off the floor) but the sales staff is too pushy. Some incredibly perky woman (maybe the owner?) helped me and she would not leave me alone! She didn't even try to listen to what I was looking for and just tried to sell me every chair in the store instead while clinging to me the whole time. I just wanted to browse and let my mind be open for the thing that would speak to me, but she just confused me even more. The store is all over the style map as it is so they should just let you browse until you need help. Otherwise, you can find one or two things that are good if you can cut through the clutter. There is no way a person in a wheelchair could shop there. read more

I wandered into Collectic because I had to wait at the AT&T store next door, and I liked the mirror in the window. The mirror was too pricey, but I found another one in my price range that I fell in love with. I had to wait for an occasion to buy the mirror, but periodically stopped in the store when I was in the area. Each time, I was greeted with a smile and sincere offer for help, and each time I received warm customer service with some of my quirky questions/requests. For the Austin Children's Shelter silent auction, I won a gift certificate to Collectic. Keep in mind another reason to shop there...they support local charities. I called today to inquire about the mirror and when it might go on sale since I don't like to buy anything at full price. I had the opportunity to talk to the owner, who remembered my name and made me a great deal. Such a great deal I bought the 2 she had left. She even helped me out to my car. i was expecting to be totally wowed with a well edited selection of great quality pieces - maybe an austin version of crate and barrel - sorry charlie, that is not the case here. i was amazed at how a lot of the more modern stuff looked like overpriced, over-chromed, cheapy looking stuff from eurway but totally marked up higher. a lot of the more contemporary/trad stuff looked like off brand pottery barn/west elm/williams-sonoma - nothing that you can't get for stupid cheap at the outlet in san marcos. also had some 'world' pieces mixed in. they have some knockoffs of the ghost chair, le corbusier's LC2, and a noguchi table - also marked up pretty high, that you might as well buy the real thing and have something that holds some kind of resale value. they just don't know how to stage and edit very well here is the big problem in my opinion. everything seemed very packaged and too matchey matchey like in a rooms to go. they was no clever mix of rustic and trad, quirky color combos, or mixes of scale. read more

I called looking for replacement seats for my barstools. Miraya knew the brand and model almost immediately which is pretty amazing. She ordered them for me for a reasonable price. The items arrived a week or two later. She checked in to see if I received them and all was good. Couldn't have had better service. Will buy from Collectic again. read more

I ordered a bed from Collectic Home and it was a complete disaster. The bed was made improperly manufactured and looked nothing like the photo that I was shown before I placed my order. I called Joni to try to see if they would work with me in order to fix the problems, but she was very rude and refused to work with me in any way what-so-ever. I refused delivery on the bed, but I had already paid for the bed. I have never had any issue like this before, and I have never experienced such an unprofessional manner from any retail establishment. read more

I love Collectic! My husband and I have consistently had a wonderful experience here. They have an incredible inventory of unique pieces at a variety of price points. Their staff are top notch and we've been fortunate to work with Abigail on a few occasions. I was in Collectic Home last week and Abigail helped me that day. My husband and I went back into the store on Saturday and Abigail remembered I had been in earlier and was very eager to help us with the side and coffee tables we were interested in purchasing. I found her to be extremely helpful and accommodating. Consequently, we purchased the tables and will return again when we need additional items for our new home. Ok they have some cool stuff but there design services suck. Mandy was supposed to show up and cancelled 1 and half prior to home appointment . This was after she said it was a week before she could come over. I had to take day off for this appointment and her response was i didn't think you would mind. I just stopped by to check out the store last week. I was the *only* customer at the time, was dressed very nicely and nobody even acknowledged me during the entire 20 minutes. I walked right by 2 sales people at the checkout desk and thought about asking a question... but I wanted to see if they'd greet me as I walked by - they did not. While the some of the furniture designs looked nice, the quality did not seem to match the high prices. read more

Hands down this is the best experience ever buying furniture! The sales person was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and extremely personable. She explained everything about the piece we were looking for and let us take fabric samples home to be certain about the color. The sofa was actually ready earlier than expected. We were called several days prior to the delivery and then once again on the delivery day to pinpoint the exact time they would arrive. It was raining pretty heavily so the driver and his assistant waited for the rain to stop. These two gentleman were the best delivery people I have ever had. The were careful with the assembly and explained everything about how to change the sofa into a bed. They asked me to give it a try to be sure I could do it on my own.
