We went to Ross today, to look for carry-on luggage with wheels. My wife and I went to three stores. At Ross, a cashier named Ariana (around 3 PM today), was VERY helpful to us. Ariana was eager to help and assist us and she showed us how the carry-on bag functioned. She helped us choose between two bags then checked us out and was completely helpful to us. I get that Ross probably pays their employees poorly, but geez! Last time I went into this Ross, a man yelled at me for not using the self checkout. This time I thought I'd use the self checkout. The lady taking the security tags off said, "I'll help you THIS time, but next time if you have more than 10 items get in the other line." I looked down and counted. I had 11 items. Give me a break! I checked myself out. She just had to take security tags off of my clothes. I don't care that this store is right by my house. I will NEVER step foot in there again. I will drive to Brodie and go to TJ Maxx. I am in hotel management. If I treated people this poorly, I'd be fired. Do better. Hire people with manners and customer service. read more

While visiting a friend and I decided to have a shopping spree with my sister on Friday. Biggest mistake ever because the cashier with the hijab double charged us. I should have known better when she wasn't even paying attention while scanning and just had this I don't care attitude the whole time but we were in such a rush that we didn't even look through our stuff until now. I'm back home and I had gotten a cute pair of Dr. Martens that I wanted to wear and after cutting off the tag and peeling the sticker on the inner heel off realized the security tag was left on one of the shoes. Today I was going to return three items that didn't work out and after looking over the receipt realized I was charged twice on an item. I went to a nearby Ross to ask if it would even be possible to get a refund and to remove the security tags and they told me I would have to go back to the original store for the refund and because the original tag isn't on the shoes they couldn't remove the security tag. When I called this store to ask if they could review the tapes over the phone they said I would have to do it in person. We decided to accept the $16 loss over the 2 hour drive and gas wasted to stand there as they verify I was double charged. We just don't have the time to make that trip again but seriously train your staff to pay more attention when handling people's merchandise. It's an easy enough job you're just scanning the items. I shouldn't have to stand guard the next time someone scans my items to make sure they're doing it right when they could have done it right in the first place. read more

I visited this Ross location on August 18. I was with my sister who had to use the restroom. I found someone to ask where the restrooms were as the store did not provide signage for the facilities as most other stores do. I asked a woman who told me where is was, but when my sister and I arrived to the restrooms, they were locked up like Fort Knox. I then left my sister by the restrooms to go find that woman again to ask her for the code, she refused to give it to me and she decided to come to the restrooms with me for some odd reason. Whatever as long as my sister can use the restroom. We are then approached by another woman who worked there who said that there was someone else in the restroom, which I advised her that it was most likely my sister and that I am happy that she was able to go. When my sister was finished, she expressed that the Second Lady approached her while I was finding another employee was EXTREMELY rude to her. She told her to go away and that the restrooms were closed for the day. She tried to shoo away my sister and did not want to let her use the restroom, meanwhile, we are there during operating hours, and we are paying customers. This location is not customer friendly and they clearly do not like to do their jobs what so ever. I would no recommend shopping here at this location, I am not sure about other Ross locations as this was my first time in a Ross, but if other locations train their employees this horrifically, I will not be going back. Came in august 10th at 4:05pm to buy my daughter clothes, noticed when I got home that the lady had left a security tag on a pair of shirts I bought. Came back to see if they could take it off and they made me buy the shirts AGAIN after I had shown proof that I bought it the date and the time. Instead of actually going into the system and looking to see they outright told me I had to re purchase. The line was so long to checkout again with only 2 people on registers and the fatass manager just stood there on the phone the whole time didn't even think to start helping out her employees. Ross has some SUPER affordable clothes. It's not fancy stuff (duh its Ross) but they've got great prices and trendy clothes, shoes, and handbags. The dressing rooms are not kept very well. There are hangers and ripped off tags everywhere. They try but this store STAYS busy with us cheap folk who don't have money for $50 shirts and such. There's also home goods, toys, underwear, luggage, and more. The lines get REALLY long but you can find some awesome stuff in here if you're willing to look through the masses. read more

I have noticed that Ross does not enforce its mask policy and does not have rest rooms open. I have health issues which may cause me to need immediate access to a rest room. I am an old self professed clothes whore. I don't need to buy another other. Ross you can take my money but not keep me safe and help me preserve my dignity while I shop. I was shopping for sheets when I decided to make a run into this place. Ross has been known for low prices. I am not sure every time I walk into this place this place looks picked over and whats with the carts with the long bars attached to them? Ironically I felt like a minority in this store. Everyone was speaking spanish and it look like this place got hit by a bomb. One older store clerk was trying to straighten this place up. I do not think it was helping. The woman's accessories, was picked over big time. There were folks in every register line. Some people in line and 2 and 3 baskets full of stuff. Recession? What Recession? The sheet sections was in disarray. There was no rhyme or reason for any of the sheets. I had to hunt and peck for sheets. I found ones that I thought would work. These were "satin-tine" sheets. That basically means, they are going to put polyester in the sheets to make it feel like they are satin, but they are not. Bed Bath and Beyond had 300 thread count sheets for $29.99, plus you can use the $5 off coupon they always send you in the mail and its still better than Ross. Ross is good if you know what you want and can get the hell out of that place. One lady was shopping for clothes in the Misses section which she is a Plus Sized woman. She was in the wrong section. I love seeing a 40 year old woman trying to dress like she is 20. I would avoid this place at all costs, unless you want to get run over by the Mexican National lady with six kids pushing two full carts of clothes she is buying. read more

Ahhh Ross-Dress For Less!!! Yes! Well this used to be my Mom's fave store back in Arlington, Texas and I went there with her many times. I liked it enough I even went there to buy myself a few things. Fast forward a decade to last night. We had cabin fever cause of the rain and went to eat at Southpark Meadows area restaurant. My husband sees a store thru the trees-lets go there he says. We come around the trees and he says "oh its Ross", "Lets still go" I say. We go in and see a manager that looks slap happy sitting on a counter near the registers. Maybe he wasn't really sitting on the counter but his essence was stoned, stupidly happy for no reason and sitting on the counter. He gestured us in like the party was just getting started. YEAH! Cause we were in a browsing mood. We started to the right, looked at Halloween decor, men's fashions, suitcases and shoes. The people shopping looked pretty good. We kept walking, we got to the house decor section and the kitchen section. HMMmm, the McFrugal disease appeared. Suddenly we described everything as McFrugaled, McFruglaized, etc. because the evidence was all over the floor. ... Back in the 90's me and my man lived in Ft. Worth and the first discount store we ever went to was McFrugal's. Well he swears it was Ft. Worth, I think it was Airport Blvd. in Austin. We went in and experienced a hellish, low class experience that made us close to barfing and having no sympathy for the poor who were basically using the store as a free daycare amusement park. Lotions were popped open and spread around. Every shoe on a rack was on the floor. Children were laughing and running aisle to aisle as Mom and Dad looked at what meager selections was still left on the shelves. So back to last night, it looked like either earlier in the day this store had experienced that free daycare amusement park scenario by its customers or that the employees were so trained in lack of pride there was a universal oath not to improve, clean or put back. The curtain section had curtains, curtain rods, etc. thrown to the ground. The shoes 1/4 of the rack on the ground. It appeared not one employee was putting anything back. Every aisle looked disordered. I was thinking of buying this or that we needed at home but the McFrugalization was too much and I decided to wait and leave-buy them elsewhere. Ross is usually my last resort. Good for discounts on household items. The women's clothing all seems to be very tween and very low quality. The store is pretty disorganized and kind of dirty on a weekday so avoid weekends unless you like chaos and screaming children. Also the way they count the dressing room items...they kind of treat you like a criminal, it's very off putting. read more

It is what it is and once you know that going in, you can find great deals. Yesterday I got 500 count all-cotton sheets in a great color for an amazing price. And an all-cotton quilt to go over them. Cool summer shirt for $5 and the perfect little purple chair. But, like going to a thrift shop, it helps to have the mentality of being on a treasure hunt. You can even imagine you are in a foreign country. Many times you come away with nothing, but if you enjoy the hunt and feel rewarded by the bargains, don't pass it up. If not, go next door to Kohl's and pay 3x the price. read more

Went into Ross to purchase a shirt for my wife @ approx 11:30 at night. I was the only person in the store. After finding the shirt I wanted I realized I left my wallet in the car. I left the shirt at the counter let Phillip know I need to go to my car. Being that it's 11:30 and my merchandise was at the counter I pulled my car up to the curb. Phillip came from around the counter and literally met me at the door stated that he will NOT let me pay for the shirt unless I moved my car back to the parking spot. With the shirt less than 5ft away in the cashiers hand and me standing with cash in plain site. I asked if this is store policy said it was and continued to give me some lame excuse why I couldn't purchase the shirt I selected. His main point was I'm not in a parking spot so I could not purchase anything from the store which was a first for me. Needless to say I didn't buy and will not buy from this company again unless someone can explain to me where is there this policy is posted in the store. I would like to know where the policy is that if you are not parked you cannot purchase from the store. I never post reviews good or bad really but I guess there is a first time for everything.
