Painted Tree is unique in that there are local artisans, craft makers, and vintage items you will find here at super affordable prices. Parking is never an issue when I come here to buy a unique piece for a friend or family gift. There are a lot of Austin-centric and often handcrafted pieces here. I have seen original artwork, candles, quilts, glassware, and a ton of stickers and even kids-related and appropriate finds. I recommend coming during the week but often times on the weekends the management will run specials and give a percentage off for shoppers. I would consider checking their social handles for events. I have seen several themed events that last from open to close such as summer events, mother's day, and even recently a Halloween (or holiday) themed promotion to get you inside and browsing. No need to remember vendors or take down names or booth numbers. All you have to do is grab what you like and when you check out the staff will scan and utilize their system to get you through your purchase. The staff have always been helpful and friendly.

I only just found out they finally opened a VS in southpark meadows, and it is about time! One fun…read morething I'd never seen before when I came here is there are little computers at each door, and inside the dressing room - you can click a button to call a sales associate outside to let you into the dressing room, and the computer inside lets you search for designs/other sizes to see if they're in stock. They also have a little QR code that you can scan which plays a video on how to know if your bra fit is correct. Very cute! The set up in this shop is also nice, although I will say it is definitely not as big as the VS in Barton creek mall. Nevertheless - the staff were really friendly and helpful here. They had their semi annual sale going on too and were knowledgeable about additional deals to stack. And after we shopped they gave us coupons for use in the spring. Overall - while I don't shop at stores in person much anymore, VS remains one of those places that I get coupons in the mail for, so I periodically go to use them or update a piece or two of my wardrobe. I'm glad this VS location is now an option since I occasionally go to southpark with friends for old time's sake hang outs, and there are still many great options!

It should not be hard to understand that I just want to look around. I haven't touched anything, I just wanted to browse but I'm leaving because this made me uncomfortable.

I absolutely would not return here to sell or consign anything…read more I dropped my clothes off around noon and was told there would be about a 2.5-hour wait. The girl who initially helped me was brand new and very nice, and I completely understand that new employees are still learning, so I had no issue with her. I accidentally entered one digit of my phone number incorrectly, so about two hours after dropping everything off, I called the store myself. I was told my items had been processed about nine minutes earlier. At no point during that phone call did anyone discuss what they wanted to purchase, what they were offering, or ask me to approve anything. When I arrived, they were still going through the items, and I noticed one of my pieces had been listed as a medium T-shirt--which immediately stood out because I don't even wear a medium. I was then told the item had already been tagged to be sold. That was extremely concerning considering I had never reviewed or approved what they were taking or what I was agreeing to sell. Riley was professional throughout the interaction, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the overall experience. Other associates seemed far too comfortable inserting their personal opinions rather than simply addressing a legitimate concern about the process. I've sold and consigned clothing before and have never experienced anything like this. If a business is purchasing someone's property for resale, there should be complete transparency about which items are being accepted, what the seller is being paid, and an opportunity for the seller to approve the transaction before their belongings are tagged for resale. The entire process left me feeling like the priority was getting merchandise onto the floor for the lowest possible cost rather than making sure the person selling it actually understood and agreed to the transaction. Then, when I questioned it, the responsibility seemed to be shifted back onto me. Completely unprofessional experience, and I would not trust this process with my belongings again.
