I've been a long time customer of Free People for about 15 years. I love their whole vibe and aesthetic. This particular store has been better in the past but is still a good store. They used to have a sale rack which was fun to browse through for good deals now they don't have it anymore. They also had a rack for returns that perhaps weren't offered in store and only on line. That too is gone. It seems they try and direct more sales to the app or website instead of a store. However it's nice to be able to try on and see the merchandise in person since their sizing is all over the place. It's a hassle to order on line and then the size is unsuitable or the quality is cheap. The staff is standoffish and not super eager to assist in making sales. I'm a solo shopper anyway and don't need others to make decisions for me on the merchandise. I'm familiar with what type of products FP has. It's right across the street from Whole Foods and has plenty of parking. read more

My daughter and I visited this store around noon on 6/24/2024. There were two salespeople in the store and no other customers. Neither one of them acknowledged us. We were completely ignored while they visited with each other. The woman spent the entire time rubbing her pregnant stomach and the man hung up one article of clothing and then got on his phone. We left and went to fp movement on Guadalupe. The employees couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We made several purchases. I know the parking on Guadalupe can be a challenge,but the employees are so delightful and helpful, this was a lovely shopping experience. read more

Stopped in today to return an item I bought to get married in, feeling a bit discouraged. The ladies that were there picked my spirits right up.. they helped me find the perfect outfit! I tried on many and each time I tried something on they were right there wanting to see how it looked, and also going around picking things up that they thought I might like. I couldn't have asked for better costumer service. I did in-fact find my perfect dress, but it was sold out in my size. So they called a few stores to find it and now it's being shipped to my home! One of my favorite stores. They have a beautiful selection of clothes and accessories here! They're on the pricey side with a lot of items costing over $100 but you can find a lot of cool items on sale. They even have a little room in the back of the store dedicated to sales items. This is a great place if you want to splurge a little and treat yourself. read more

I feel a little funny reviewing a place that is not local, but I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge this particular location because in my experience the staff has been very nice and helpful. I called in to locate a dress and the associate I spoke with found it for me, held it and knew exactly who I was when I came in and handed it over! It's the little things I guess, but I was impressed that she took the time to do that. Especially because the store was busier that day. The one star I knocked off is just because there seems to always be a few sizes missing in popular items (which, duh I know happens when they're popular) but I feel like to some degree that could be accounted for and the inventory could be a little better managed. Overall, great store with a fun vibe. I'm not sure why others' experiences were so incongruent with mine but I encourage them to try it again! read more

I love, love, love this store. Their clothes, the ambiance... just about everything. The only thing that I don't care for is their price tag, but that is a given when you want quality clothing. I came in to return a dress I had ordered online, which I was eager to wear but realized that their sizing was off and had no way to get another one. Either way their customer service was pretty awesome and was able to get my refund from my online order with no problems. I browsed around but didn't see anything as I usually have to be in the mood to go shopping and I just had too much to do that day. Either way, I may hit this place up sometime soon for a cute dress for the holidays. read more

What a perfect shopping experience. The sweetest guy (may I add: also dressed extremely and elegantly high fashion ) helped my daughter and I put together and style outfits for hours. Tops, flare jeans, skinny jeans, bags, coats, sweaters and shoes. We tried them all and loved everything. Honestly, it was the sales person that made it so special. I felt like giving him a hug before we left and can't wait to go back again! Unfortunately we promised to return the next day to pick up a great pair of jeans he recommended and found ourselves too busy to stop by. Haven't stopped regretting it since! read more

I love Free People clothes, but the staff at the South Lamar store were terrible when I went in yesterday. I went in with the intention of buying a dress for an event, and was the ONLY person in the store. The 2 girls behind the counter didn't acknowledge me, let me roam the entire store on my own while they chit chatted about the weekend and never once asked if they could help me. One of them did say goodbye as I walked out the door. I went next door and spent my money at By George where the staff was more than accommodating. I will never go to this store again, and I will be sure to pass the word. read more

Horrible customer service. The fairly tall girl with long hair (and a horrible ombré job, might I add) was unhelpful, rude, and rushed. I was purchasing something and her only concern was swiping my card because it was 6:58pm. God forbid you kept the store open an extra minute to make a sale!!! I love Free People! It is a small boutique shop, with cute, cute bohemian clothes, which I Love! The sales people could not be sweeter, they always greet me with a big smile, whether I'm buying something, or returning something that I ordered on line. BTW, when I'm online shopping, I always look to see if the piece is in the store. I'd much rather try it on, as I can be XS or S, and sometimes that little bit can make a difference. Either way, they are so helpful, without fail, and I've been going there for years. I especially love their jeans with a little stretch, and the adorable tops! I'm not in my 20's or 30's so I sometimes wear what that they call a dress, as a top over tights, or jeans! Cute shoes, boots, earrings, and necklaces also!! It's a darling shop. IF you catch them on the rare day between shipments, give them a day, and the place will be filled with cute things again! I love their window displays, and they've never complained if they have to take something off the display, if it's my size. Yes, it is a small shop, but big whoop, if you see something in the catalog you love, order it from the store. They are very helpful! read more

I was so sad to read that there were poor reviews for this location! Every time I have been in the Lamar store to shop, I was immediately greeted. The girls there are so accommodating. I am not the best at outfitting myself, and these ladies give me so many great outfit ideas! They checked on me multiple times while in the fitting room, and gave me their honest opinion on everything I tried on. I love Free People clothes- and these girls know how to style them. read more

Almost all the clothes were wrinkled, poorly displayed and disheveled. The prints looked poorly dyed and the colors seemed like from an irregulars outlet warehouse. Everyone else who came in was greeted and helped but I was completely ignored. I tried to get help but the clerks acted like they were busy on their cellphones for personal business. I was the only customer fully dressed in Free People so I wonder why I was snubbed. The clerks act like 50's era snobby sales ladies at Bergdorf Goodman. They're only nice to SPECIFIC looking people. read more

2 stars because the store is extremely small and you can never find anything from their website unless it's a really popular item I guess. I walked in and was not greeted by any of the 3 staff members working around 1:15 in the afternoon. I was the only one in the store and there were 3 people on staff. I walked around the store for about 10 minutes, no one came to ask if I was looking for something specific. At this point there were a total of 3 customers in the store. I tried some bralettes and as I was finishing I asked if they came in any other colors,other than the ones that were at the store. She told me they only had the black and white colors (the 2 colors they had in the store). I explained the dress I was trying to match it to and that I would like a beige color bralette. I looked online later to find it comes int at least 10 other colors, even if this wasn't the same bralette online there are so many similar styles. If I was looking for a specific color don't you think they could have directed me to a similar style in the color I wanted and said, "We could order it for you/mail it to you, find it in another store, here are similar styles etc..." Anything to show a sign of interest in what I needed/wanted. Again the store had 3 customers, 3 people on staff, none of the customers were demanding. They could have taken the time to show the smallest amount of customer service, it doesn't take too much time to change my mind about customer service. A simple, "Can I help you find anything" would have changed my mind about writing this review. read more
