    The best Bún Bò Huế in Seattle, hands down! I keep coming back for it. Plus, they offer fantastic traditional Huế cakes like Bánh Lọc and Bánh Nậm for takeout.

    This is not a fancy spot by any means - come here for some authentic, comforting noodle soup. Every time I take the link past Othello I always see this spot and tell myself I need to try it. I finally got to do so! The space inside is small and cramped, and we were seated at a long table right next to some other people. I came with the goal of trying their bun bo hue, which has been recommended as the best in Seattle. They also have a few other menu options with the classic Vietnamese dishes. The bun bo hue came out nice and hot, with a side of fresh veggies. There was meatballs, beef slices, pork blood, pork feet, and thick rice noodles inside. The broth was absolute perfection - so well seasoned and paired with the noodles perfectly. I loved how chewy the noodles were and they were also super generous with the amount of meat. I'd definitely come back when craving that authentic bowl of noodles! Service was also really friendly :)

    Cozy spot in sea tac area to get authentic viet noodles. Their bun bo hue very hearty and flavorful. Service was quick for an in and out lunch. They didn't ask for spice level and so it did come out a bit spicy but it was the perfect level of spiciness.

    My grandpa took me here one time, so I knew it had to be good because he is a very picky man when it comes to Vietnamese restaurants. This was my second visit, and it is still great. Just across the street from the Othello Link Station, it is a perfect stop to or from the airport for a quick and hearty meal. It is a small restaurant, but it was pretty busy for a Friday lunch! We were seated immediately, and our server was really nice and gave us a big table because we had our luggage with us. It was a cold day, so I obviously had to order a warm, comforting bowl of pho. Which was a terrific choice because they did not skimp on the meats and the broth was full of flavor. Some FYIs - There is only a $1 difference between the small and large size for the noodle soup dishes! They serve hot tea instead of water, but I'm sure you can ask for water instead if that isn't your cup of tea. You will pay at the front when you are done, they won't bring you a check.

    I was pretty excited to try this place for bún bò huế, but honestly, my experience was a bit underwhelming. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the delicious smell of pho broth, which definitely sets the mood. But then, when we sat down, the table had this wet mildew smell, likely from their towels, which was pretty off-putting. My bún (noodles) were overcooked, which is a letdown for me. While I appreciated that their bún bò huế included pig's feet (a nice touch), the broth itself was just okay--definitely not spicy at all. One good thing was they had fermented shrimp paste, which is not always available at every bún bò huế spot in Seattle, so that was a plus. However, my friend ordered a dry hủ tiếu entrée, and it was really disappointing--it just tasted like peanuty hoisin sauce, and didn't have that authentic Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang flavor at all. Overall, I don't think I'll be rushing back. Still on the hunt for a good BBH spot unfortunately.

    Typical hole-in-the-wall mom/pop spot with great authentic Vietnamese food. Been here multiple times and it's consistently great. Bun Bo Hue is flavorful with a rich and meaty taste. Bun Rieu is on point. Cha lua (pork cake) is super tasty. Efficient service, can get jam packed on the weekends but the food usually comes out quickly. Parking lot nearby can be hard to navigate but it's worth the effort!

    A hidden gam! If you're looking for delicious and well-priced Viet food, this is the place to go! I had their bun Bo hue and it was pretty good. For a large it was only $13! We had their bun rieu and it was pretty good as well. Try their shrimp rice ball if you're looking for a good appetite! The service here was pretty good. Servers were attentive and helpful and the food didn't take long to make. The ambiance of the restaurant is good. Authentic Vietnamese restaurant atmosphere. There's a decent amount of seating.

    It's a small restaurant and certainly busy! I came to eat on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and all the tables were full. It's also likely going to be a communal dining experience if you've got a small group or if you are eating by yourself. I ordered the bun rieu and I'm pleased with it! I'd say the flavor was light, bordering on a little bland, and the meatballs had a spongy texture to it. It's a hectic spot with crowded seating and a busy environment but it's still a comforting spot for a good bowl of soup.

    Big bowls of authentic pho for only $13! Inside the graffitied storefront was bustling with patrons and if that wasn't enough to convince you to try, the delicious rich broth certainly is. We ordered the Bun rieu and Chicken pho and they came loaded with flavor. They're perfect for a cold day. The chicken pho was sweeter than I like but perfect for my friend. Next time we will come back to try their star dish, Bo bun hue. This restaurant is conveniently located just off the Othello light rail station! The only thing to be cautious about is parking in the large parking lot and finding your way in from the back entrance, past the small bathroom. Tip: They take card now!

    Love LOVE love this place for bun Bo hue! It's always a solid breakfast option for my family and friends! The food comes out hot and steaming with a beautiful side of herbs and veggies to pair with the bun Bo hue! I love how large the portion sizes are and how well seasoned it is! I've never had any complaints about this restaurant and look forward to eating it again on rainy days!

    One of the things I like most about Hoang Lan is how friendly and accommodating they are, especially with my girlfriend's dietary requirements (she's vegetarian). We started with Gui cuon, which are spring rolls. Generally, these are made with shrimp or pork. However, upon request, they made them with tofu. Delicious. As before, I ordered the Bun Thit Ga Nuong, Nem Nuong, which is grilled chicken and grilled minced pork on vermicelli. Just as good as last time. My girlfriend really wanted to try the same, and asked if they could make it vegetarian. No problem! She got hers with tofu. (I think I will try her take on the dish next time! It looked really good.) I asked about a salted plum drink again, but they still weren't able to make it. Hai, one of the owners, said that he could make a salted lemonade instead. I ordered that and it was so refreshing on such a hot day! A new drink I'll be having regularly. I love how convenient Hoang Lan is to the light rail. Just four stops from SeaTac, and you got yourself a great lunch. I highly recommend if you're on your way to the airport or returning from a trip. I now stop there regularly.

    Seattle seems to have tons of Vietnamese restaurants. My parents raved about Hoang Lan since they mentioned the broth tends to be lighter and less oily. My son is also gradually acquiring the taste of grilled pork over rice, and my wife loves BBH (Spicy Pork Blood Noodle Soup). Sounds like a win-win-win! The restaurant shared a huge parking lot with Safeway, and its tucked way in the back corner of the lot. You enter through the back hallway with bathroom and kitchen, but you'll eventually reach the dining area. Whew, so its not a hole-in-wall after all. The food here is legit, especially grilled pork over broken rice. The pork is marinated and juicy, but note you may need to trim around the fat and bone to get that awesome meat. I also enjoy the texture of broken rice since it seems to soak up flavor more by not sticking together. My 3yo son loved this dish - he gobbled up the pork as soon as I cut it for him. My dish was the grilled chicken vermicelli. Solid dish, and it seems like they threw in some pork sausage too. Wife enjoyed BBH but didn't care for pig feet. She commented her favorite BBH is Pho Saigon City in Pleasanton, CA. Overall 4 stars - a very good Vietnamese place. They even have this pork four ways rice dish with grilled, shredded, skin, and sausage preparations that I'll definitely want to try next time in Seattle!

    This hole-in-the-wall serves up one of the best Bun Bo Hue and Lemongrass Chicken Broken rice that I've had in the state of Washington. The Bun Bo Hue broth has a great flavor and I liked the noodles and meatballs. I typically don't care for the beef shank or pork hock in general, so I will decline to comment on that. The Lemongrass Chicken is grilled to perfection and the lemongrass flavor is excellent. My boyfriend loves ordering Lemongrass Chicken Broken Rice at different restaurants, and Hoang Lan is definitely a stand out. All in all, I can overlook the hectic/crowded vibes because the food is worth it.

So far I have been here twice and would definitely come back for a warm meal. The staff were helpful and pleasant! It was roughly a 30 minute wait for the food, but that is to be expected considering this is not a fast-food Restaurant (:

The rau ram oil and herb is such a creative twist that adds the perfect herbal dimension. The radicchio pudding was light and offered a clean, almost grassy brightness without being overwhelming in flavors. Great option for any vegans at the table. The wagyu beef tallow fries were some of the best fries I've ever had. Ultra-crispy, perfectly thick-cut, and deeply flavorful with beef notes shining through, without being too heavy. Like many of the dishes here, perfectly balanced in flavor. The grilled eggplant with whipped tofu and crispy sun chokes was another standout. The tofu whip was so smooth and should be considered a worthy sub for mayo. The eggplant was soft, creamy, and perfectly charred. The garlic rice was incredibly savory and maybe my favorite version of it yet. Packed with the perfect depth of garlicky flavor and seasoning. Finally for dessert - I thought the durian fruit cup was decent, it's great for durian lovers but next time I will be back to try their other desserts. The hollow bread is a must-try. It's fried to perfection, the inside is steamy and the butter it comes with is perfect but the bread alone is so good that it doesn't need it. The perfect touch of roasted sesame. Slightly sweet, it's a delight in textures and perfect in cold weather. The oyster on half shell in happy hour is also a great standard oyster, very fresh, with a nuanced Viet twist in the sauces. Vegetable dip is pretty standard and also delicious, great if you're looking for a healthy starter. Coffee rubbed ribs were fantastic as well and an incredible deal for the size. Very savory, a little sticky sweet, but not too much. Service was also friendly and the food came out in a reasonable time. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, and had fun chatting with regulars next to our table too.

The pork on the other hand was a bit too salty for my liking. And you only get one thin piece... soup on the side was good and was a good way to cleanse the palette. Overall good modern/fancy spin on Vietnamese food but overpriced. Would probably be nice to go during dinner time for some drinks as the ambience seemed better for night time. Good amount of seating. Street parking around the area was easy to find.
