HiTEA is located near Macy's side at the Lanai Food court. They offer many drink options (smoothie, milk tea, fruit tea), and Chinese takeout (stir fry plates, rice, and noodles. Everything is super affordable and has quick service to bring out hot meals. The drinks are only served in large, so you know that you will save some big bucks! I got their Seafood crispy noodles and it was so cheap, delicious and had a HUGE portion. If you order food and a drink, they get a HiTEA special from orders #60 to #91, to get $1 off of your drink! So if you're on a budget at the mall, definitely get a plate or drink to grab and go. Smoothies (L): $5.75 Milk Tea & Fruit Tea (L): $4.75 Chinese Takeout plates: between $13 and $15. read more

HiTEA Cafe - House Crispy Noodles & Plantation Ice Tea w/ Rainbow Jelly - Bubble Tea Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

HiTEA Cafe is conveniently located at the Lanai Food Court in Ala Moana. I don't eat at food courts but have passed by HiTEA Cafe numerous times. While at Ala Moana, my friend wanted a smoothie and recommended HiTEA Cafe, so I thought I'd grab one as well! Their drink menu is extensive and one size only--with both smoothie, milk tea, and fresh tea options. I was overwhelmed by the number of options for smoothies and listened to my friend's recommendation--the Lychee Smoothie. The smoothie was refreshing and tasted like fresh lychee. I found it to be a tad sweet for my liking, but still pretty good. If you're in the mood for smoothies at Ala Moana, I'd recommend checking this place out over Jamba Juice! They also offer plate lunch options, which I overlooked but heard was good. read more

There are always people waiting here so I felt it was time for me to finally give HiTEA Cafe a try. They have a great selection of teas and smoothies, as well as lunch items. However today I only had time to grab something to drink. I ordered a mango jasmine tea with lilikoi jelly. The jelly was star shaped and easy to go through the straw. Im not sure how to describe the tea but it was "fresh" - sometimes tea can be bitter but this wasn't at all. Also the mango flavoring wasn't fake or artificial. The drink was refreshing and perfect! I forgot to take a photo before I slurped away half of it, so you should go try this place out for yourself and see what the drink looks like. read more

So many options to choose from! I was at the food court and on my way out I spotted this boba place and ShareTea. I've been to a fair share of ShareTeas on the mainland so decided to give this place a try since I've never heard of it before. They offer so many drinks, can come off as quite alarming since I didn't know what I wanted. I think I read through the menu three times and finally came to a conclusion to order the Mango Jasmine Tea. I believe I also got lychee jelly. My initial thought was that I didn't get enough mango flavoring and that I got too much lychee jelly. But after I walked around the mall and my drink had time to melt and settle the flavor was actually pretty good. Since I was just shopping the extra jelly came in handy since they were fun to suck up and chew. It kept me busy. One thing for sure, it was very refreshing for a warm humid day. I love that their menu is complete pictures! It makes everything less confusing and looks even more enticing even though I did take away to finally make my decision. Haha. read more

When YYK runs out of dim sum what do you do? Head next door to HiTea Cafe! They have a big selection of milk teas, with or without Boba. The sleeper menu is their extensive Chinese offerings. I was jonesing for bitter melon, so I got it with beef and white jasmine rice. We also tried the fried rice with chicken. I liked the thinly sliced bitter melin and thinly sliced beef. The gravy was light and not overly salty. The fried rice was a mountain of rice that filled the large sqyare takeout container. Very tasty. Wish I had a sunny side up egg... Portions are generous and they don't use MSG for all of you who are sensitive to it. Great food and lots of it! If you're looking for Chinese food at Ala Moana SC, but don't need a really fancy sit down experience, come to HiTea! read more

Had this place bookmarked for a while for their food (not for the drinks) and finally remembered to try it out. Most everyone is here for their boba drinks -- the menu is long and varied for bubble tea. As for me, I was here for the food, specifically, the house pork chops: item C21. The description of the dish is super vague. It's actually a version of what I know as "capital pork chops," sort of a slightly more ketchupy sweet & sour pork. The chops are cut into random thirds, served bone-in with two scoops of white rice. Devoid of vegetables, it's probably meant to be eaten family style with other dishes. I definitely wished that I'd ordered other items to go with my plate of tasty meats and carbs. The food is more like what you'd get at a mom and pop and I do think it's great to be able to get this kind of food at Ala Moana. If you've been around a while, this food is definitely more Patti's than Panda. :p read more

First of all I absolutely LOVE Garden Lanai food court in Ala Moana SC, yes I'm on crutches with a broken ankle super difficult to walk. They have 20min Togo parking right outside, automatic doors and a clean convenient bathrooms...yup! Not sure if HiTEA is a Chinese restaurant or smoothies bar because their menu is quite incredible. Ordering is easy once you have decided and service is incredibly fast, tonight was Beef broccoli with crispy noodles and I requested the topping be on the side if not it would all spill out hobbling on crutches. Omg gonna slap me because I failed to take a picture of their beautifully packed order they did their absolute best to accommodate my situation and it came home perfect. Portion size is super generous and so yummy I guess I was too exhausted and hungry so no pictures but am so happy and satisfied that will definitely be back to capture that shot lol. I find myself coming back to HiTea Cafe. The menu offers vegetarian, meat, and seafood dishes. I really enjoy eating their Singapore Rice Noodle! I order the dish without onions and pork. The curry tastes absolutely delicious. The spice brings out all the flavors in the mung beans, carrots, shrimp, and egg. In addition to the food, HiTea prepares yummy drinks too. Once we ordered the ginger tea. Delicious. It really hit the spot. The service tends to be pretty fast. I only wait for about 7 minutes - which is not bad at all. Seeing how the line builds up pretty quickly, HiTea built a a loyal following. Located at the Lanai at Ala Moana mall, the location allows for easy access. People come here for lunch and dinner. Stopped by to get some refreshing drinks to satisfy a boba craving! (: Located in the Ala Moana Mall on the 2nd floor's food court. PARKING: Mall parking is free wooo :D! SERVICE: Drinks came out in a timely manner. Although I was using the restroom when the drinks came out, we arrived to find that they put our drinks in the fridge since we were not there at the moment it was ready for pickup. That's super sweet and very considerate!!! I really appreciated that and it left a good impression. JASMINE MILK TEA: I ordered this with 50% sugar and less ice with grass jelly. Their drinks are not too sweet at all. I would probably get 75% sugar next time to match my personal preference. The tea and grass jelly quality was good and I would order this again. MATCHA COCONUT MILK TEA: My husband ordered this on a whim lol. I think he was feeling coconut-y? It's definitely heavy on the coconut flavor. Would recommend it if that's your jam. read more

Ever since the Chinese restaurant by my house closed down due to covid, I lost my go to place for beef with bittermelon. I wasn't able to get my fix until I saw they started serving it here. I usually come here to get my smoothies and occasionally my seafood crispy noodle. This time, I got both just for me (they thought it was for two people and gave me extra utensils too)! Who would have thought I would be able to find authentic, tasty and large portions of my favorite Chinese foods at ala Moana! Seafood crispy noodle- a lot of reviews mentioned it was bland and could use more flavor, but honestly, that's how it's supposed to be. This isn't an overpowing flavorful dish. It's a nice light dish on top of crispy noodles. I thought the flavor was just right. I wanted to be able to taste the fresh veggies and seafood and the crunch of my noodles. There was a lot of seafood and veggies too! Fair warning- the first time I got this, I was so excited to eat, I burnt my tongue. But it was worth it because I came back a couple more times for this. Beef with bittermelon- cooked exactly like what I wanted. The bittrnress of the melon pairs well with the soft and juicy beef. The black bean suace didn't mask the flavors. I know some places try to tone down the bitter by adding more sauce or salt, but this dish was perfect. I really liked the portion too. It was like having my own full dish of beef and bitter melon with a side of rice at Chinese restaurants. Writing this has me craving for it again.... Smoothies- tasty and fresh! I didn't get a smoothie this time since I was starving, but I would always get a smoothie whenever I'm in the area. My go-to is the mango smoothie with lychee jelly. It doesn't taste artificial at all and doesn't have extra artificial sweeteners that make it taste fake. I love being able to grab a smoothie from here and knowing they use real fruits and not powders (I believe there is a few smoothies made from powder, but they have it marked on the menu). If I'm not grabbing my usual, I'm getting the watermelon smoothie (no jelly no boba, just plain watermelon). It's refreshing in this Hawaii heat and tastes like pure watermelon. HiTea is located inside of the Lanai at Ala Moana where the old shirokiya used to be. With ample parking and shopping, it's a step up from fighting for street parking at Chinatown. The prices are a tiny bit more expensive than Chinatown, but the convenience of not having to circle around for an hour for street parking or paying outrageous parking prices, makes it worth it to come here. Although there is usually a pack of people standing in front of the counter, I simply ask if they have ordered yet and they're usually just waiting to pick up their order. Staff is always friendly and attentive when I'm ready to place my order and it comes out pretty quickly. They give you a number after you pay and call the number out when your order is ready so there's no confusion of whose order is whose. read more

Came here to get a couple cold drinks to enjoy on a warm afternoon. Lots of flavor choices (smoothies, milk teas and teas) and topping choices (extra tapioca, flavored jellies, azuki beans). We opted for smoothies: strawberry, orange and mocha coffee smoothies. Pretty safe choices. Freshly made. Fast. Delicious. What caught my attention the most, however, were the sealed covers on the drinks! As a parent, spilled drinks are a huge nuisance. These drinks didn't have typical plastic lids - which can pop off. Instead, they had a foil seal/cover that you pierced with your straw. Genius! Would definitely come back to try a few of the other drink flavors. Smoothies are $5.25. Teas are $4.25. They also sell Chinese food plates. Wasn't tempted to try any though. read more

Quality food, reasonable prices with quick friendly service. The style of Chinese food here is milder in flavor and and lighter in oil. They do sauces very well. Whether it's the Tofu with eggplant, Shrimp with vegetables or Shrimp with tomato sauce, you'll find the sauces milder in flavor with a nice balance of sweet and salty. The Shrimp tomato sauce is definitely my fave. Good size shrimp in a sticky tangy sweet tomato sauce that coats the entire shrimp. They could've done a better job deveining the shrimp but that's a 3rd world problem I'm willing to live with. The shell is still on the shrimp so be prepared to lick your fingers often if you don't like shells. As for me, the shells are the hub of flavor town that add texture and a modest degree of danger with every bite. Lighter flavors aside, if you're looking for that heavy dose of carbs and oil, they have the classic Fried Noodles on the menu which we plan to dissect in all of it's fried gloryness. The seating area is roped off with one way in and out. Social distancing is observed and you must sign in with name and contact info. Happy Eating!! read more

Drink review only! I was craving boba while walking through the Ala Moana Center and decided on HiTEA due to the variety of drinks on the menu. There are quite a lot and you can see pictures of each drink too. ShareTea is right across but I've had my share of ShareTea elsewhere so wanted to try something different. We got the Taiwan Winter Melon Tea and regular Milk Tea. Usually come here for their drinks, but tried their food for the first time today! Got the shrimp chow fun and added on the honeydew milk tea for their $1 off drink deal. The drink was delicious as always. Not sure if they use real fruits, but it tastes like they do. Good flavor and not too sweet. The chow fun is delicious, and has a good amount of shrimp. Also quite flavorful and as their menu states, contains no MSG. Food comes out pretty quick too, so would definitely love to try their other dishes. Would be a five star if it weren't as expensive. We've been going to this spot for take out chinese for a long time. The food is good - my favorite is the sale & pepper pork, black pepper chicken / pork and some of their fruit drinks. Make sure you check to see if they gave you a combo deal if you're ordering a drink with your meal (should be $1.00 off). The amount of food is just right for me - just that depending on the person cooking that day, you may get more veggies than the meat, or vice versa. Keep your receipt because they will call out (read: yell out) your number to pick up your food. One suggestion to the store: You're had this store for years now. Maybe get one of those digital number displays so that customers can see which numbers are ready for pick up? The food court is so busy & noisy and it's difficult to hear you over all of the noise. The staff tries their best to yell out your number - but sometimes we can't even figure out what you're saying. read more
