Super cute spot - the interior really does still look like a pharmacy Service was good - we sat outside w our small dog and food came out quickly and was delicious I tried the strawberry cucumber pimm cocktail and my husband had the Irish coffee - both really good - around $14 each We tried the Brussel sprouts and the mac n cheese - both incredible - def recommend these We were also there for the steak night for Sunday $25 steak and fries - fries were great and the steak had a chimichurri sauce on top which was really good Overall the steak was ok - not the best cut but a good special My husband and I split all these things and the bill came out to around $90

I went there to try their Tuesday special and it was delicious. I got a burger with fries and an old fashioned, they were all delicious! I got reservations so it was easier to sit down but the place was hot! I'm not sure if the AX wasn't working or there's a leak. I'd come back though.

White Bean Truffle Dip

Truffle white bean dip -- I'm sad to report this wasn't a good call. Didn't taste the truffle, and the bread was like a rock of a crostini. Coulda been better with a softer vessel? But we went for $25 steak night. Mashed potatoes honestly were super gas, steak was mod. It was one of those meals where you're like "yea I mean this is fine but I could have made better at home for half the price" ‍ Wish I had something better to say because they seem super nice but this is the cold hard truth, buster.

Came here while visiting Austin for brunch once, and will say that it is just alright. The atmosphere is cute and fun as we came on a girls trip!! However unfortunately the food wasn't my favorite! We also had some issues with our tab resulting in me having to make some phone calls with my bank, but the server was very helpful and nice about it! Good service as well!

Came here for a quick brunch before leaving for the airport. The menu was small but so was my appetite- I had a fruit tart while my other guest had the waffles and avocado toast. I can't wait it was a particularly memorable experience. It was also pretty warm inside, as though the AC system was in disrepair. The service was ok but it was clear they were preparing to close and things felt a but rushed.

We waited 30 mins from sit down until we got our food. And until then, no utensils. We had to grab the sets from the table next to us. The menu is simple and lack creativity. The food is decent though.

Great place for brunch! The interior is unique as this used to be an actual pharmacy. Inside and outdoor seating available! We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather and got the eggs Benedict and buttermilk pancakes. Both were yum! My husband normally doesn't eat pancakes (think they're too sweet) but this tasted amazing and not overly sweet! Very filling too. Can't go wrong with Eggs Benedict! I always enjoy flocking through the poached egg. So satisfying! I think there aren't many options on the menu, but it is still a solid brunch spot. Street parking.

Cappuccino with Coconut milk and a Strawberry Pimm's Cup cocktail

We wandered in on a Sunday morning and got seated right away on their little patio. It's a cool, quiet vibe--easy going but classy. Felt like we were on vacation. The menu keeps it simple, which I like--no huge list to stress over. We split the Fried Egg Sandwich and a pancake with blueberry compote. Also grabbed a Strawberry Pimm's Cup cocktail and a cappuccino. Everything was tasty and hit the spot. The sandwich was good, pancake was light but filling, and the drinks were solid. The servers were super friendly and kept an eye out to see if we needed anything. We'll definitely swing by again to try more stuff off the menu. Good find in East Austin.

I was surprised to see the mediocre reviews! My experience at Hillside Farmacy was delightful. My girlfriend and I visited for a date night; we loved the romantic bistro vibes and fun decor. The restaurant was packed at 8pm on a Friday evening. Insulation in here isn't great - it's LOUD. This was a little frustrating but the food and drinks made up for it. Drinks: I ordered a mezcal drink which was phenomenal, and my girlfriend got the grapefruit jalapeño margarita which was a little too strong/spicy IMO. Food: - Half dozen oysters - served beautifully with all the sauces and fixings. Tasty! - Arancini balls in a marinara sauce - 3 to a portion. I found these to be flavorful and filling. - cheeseburger and fries - this is easily one of the best cheeseburgers in Austin. Simple but absolutely epic. The hand cut fries were excellent as well. We had a great time here and look forward to returning soon!

This place felt nostalgic due to the gorgeous revamp of the historic hillside pharmacy. The decor was very pretty and kind of cozy. The service is was nice and our waiter was very attentive. We went around 10:30am. My fiance got the fried egg sandwich and said the avocado & bread was great, but the overall sandwich lacked seasoning. There were no salt & pepper shakers on the tables but I'm sure we could have asked. The poboy was very delicious, I asked for some lemons and it took it to a solid 5 stars. You get the option with the sandwiches to get fries or Cesar salad as the side. I chose Cesar salad for a lighter brunch. Overall I would come back if I'm ever in the area to try something else on the menu and I would recommend coming for a bite!

My first visit to Hillside Farmacy for brunch was lackluster - poor service, not many options, and it was just so crowded. However, I later went for dinner and it totally changed my perspective. The inside is full of darling and unique decor that feels like an old school pharmacy and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered was totally on point. Plus, the service was excellent.

Hillside Farmacy is a vibe - pleasant staff, lovely decor, and wonderful food and mixed drinks. Justin took such extraordinary care of us - he made us feel like we were eating at a friend's house. They have created the consummate neighborhood experience. I really need to come here more often! Join their newsletter as they dream up some excellent specials. Don't sleep on their afternoon happy hour offerings. Lastly, I forgot they created some outdoor dining spaces in front and on the side. Support this awesome eatery!

The chicken was cooked to perfection but that was the only thing we truly enjoyed. The biscuit was seemingly made in a sheet and cut. Even when we ordered a side it was split in half, so you never really got that satisfying bite of biscuit with the flaky top. Everything we had (the badass bacon and eggs, brisket breakfast sandwich, chicken sandwich, chicken and biscuit sandwich, and biscuits and gravy) were okay but not super. I was disappointed in the gravy which was just a little odd. The side of red potatoes was interesting but not our favorite. No hate to the place, just not at all what I was expecting. The service and /decor were great. The food was just not to our taste.

Their burger is easily one of the best I've had in Austin, especially paired with their thin, crispy fries. It's my go-to order almost every time. One thing I love is that they switch up the steak portion of the menu a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Right now they have the steak au poivre, which is incredible, although I'm still craving their steak frites and hoping it makes a comeback. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. I definitely recommend making a reservation since it tends to get pretty busy, especially during peak hours.

There is a QR code that you're required to use to join the waitlist/queue, but this is not clearly communicated on their website. You essentially have to arrive at the restaurant and figure it out once you're there. For a restaurant that is known for having long waits and high traffic, I feel like this information should be clearly stated online so people can plan accordingly. Once I joined the queue, I was number 43 and ended up waiting about an hour and a half before being seated. I understand that popular restaurants can have long wait times, but the lack of transparency about how the process works made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Once inside, the ambiance was actually quite quaint and charming. That said, considering how much traffic this restaurant gets, I was surprised by how limited the space is. I honestly think expanding the property would make a huge difference, although I understand that may not be entirely within their control. One thing I will give them major credit for is the menu. Online, the selection makes it look somewhat limited, but once you're there, they actually have 50+ food options, so there is plenty to choose from. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered a shredded beef taco with salsa and substituted a side salad. The beef was extremely tender, but unfortunately, it was also very dry. The salad was another disappointment because the vinaigrette was honestly not good. I don't think I've ever had a vinaigrette that I actively disliked until this meal. Thankfully, my fiancé had a much better experience. He ordered an enchilada and said it was one of the top five enchiladas he's ever had, so clearly there are some standout dishes on the menu. That definitely made me curious about trying something different if I ever return. I also really enjoyed that they offer hibiscus tea. I was very happy to see it on the menu, although I personally think it would be better served on its own rather than incorporated into one of their mixed drinks. The drink itself was just okay, but the hibiscus flavor was great. Overall, I can see why this place has become an Austin staple, but I think the experience could be improved significantly by making the waitlist process much clearer online and by improving the consistency of some of the food. The menu has a lot of potential, and clearly, some dishes are excellent! Unfortunately, mine just wasn't one of them.
