My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which was tender, juicy, and flavorsome with a side of tasty sweet mustard sauce. I had the crab cake sandwich, which was described to me as their signature dish, and it was easy to tell why. The cake was so flavorful and moist (with almost no filling whatsoever to hold it together) that it essentially melted in my mouth. I ordered an apple pie tini, which is supposed to be served with ice cream. She didn't even want to run back to the kitchen to check if they had any and when I insisted she did, she made a rude face and grudgingly went back! Not to mention, the drink tasted awful. We were in Hershey for our daughter's wedding. First a group of our friends went and raved about it! They even went a second time after the wedding, so we had to go. Our experience was terrific, what a great restaurant! We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. Our server was Katie, who had also waited on our friends. We enjoyed two orders of the Brussel sprout appetizers, with fresh ginger and cashews. Those could have easily been a meal in itself. Cooked to perfection with fresh flavors. Our entrees did not disappoint. The scallops were delicious with a tasty sauce. We also had the salmon on a plank with a light barbecue glaze, so good! Our family was looking for a different place to eat in the area. We saw the website and menu here and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was nice. They have a really great space and we were seated quickly even though they were busy. We started off with ordering drinks but 3 of the four drink requests (2 draft beers and a featured blueberry lemonade) were "out of stock for the week". Oh. That's ok. I mean bars sometimes run out of popular drafts on a busy weekend. Kinda weird for the mixed drink request though, but ok. We noted that the menu didn't include any type of flights or features to try their spirits. We thought that was odd since it's a distillery and the bottles were a bit more expensive than average. So naturally as a new customer, I was looking for ways try it first. But no such luck. The bees knees and Manhattan were just ok. A little liquor heavy and not really sweet. Drinks took a while to get to us. But we were patient because it seemed to be only 2 severs and a runner working the entire busy room. Entree orders went similar to drink orders in that most of our first choices (all burger orders) were "out of stock for the week", except one entree. Oddly when the entrees arrived only 3 of the 4 of us received food. The runner asked if he was missing anything. So we informed him of the missing entree. He apologized and said he'd check on it. Oddly our server only submitted 3 entrees with our order though they were clearly 4 of us and the missing entree was the 2nd person to order! The runner took the remaining entree request (steak frittes) and apologized. He soon returned however to apologize that (you guessed it) the requested entree was "out of stock for the week". Having made another choice and receiving food with much apology, we found the replacement entree (short rib sandwich) not very good, under seasoned. But the ciabatta (?) bun was very tasty and seasoned. Kinda wish the same care was taken with the meat. Someone else in our group had the turkey burger which was terrible. Clearly frozen and not fresh ground turkey.....sigh. ...oh well. We also ordered the fried Brussel sprouts (tasty) and mac and cheese (just ok) as shared appetizers - which we told our server as we requested small plates to do so. Unfortunately, that message didn't get back to our runner who arrived with apps in hand and asking who had what at which time we re-requested small plates to share our apps. Small thing though. I guess sometimes messages don't get passed. All in all a very poor experience. Very disappointed. Too many things out of stock. Not enough attention to detail. Probably not enough servers on the shift for a Saturday night. To cap it all off, after getting home, my stomach was ill and I got the trots :( Maybe unrelated. Maybe not. My husband and I recently visited this establishment for the first time to feel the place out, and were pleasantly surprised! Walking in to a large space with an industrial decor, it still boasts an inviting atmosphere. We sat at the bar, and were immediately greeted by the bartender. He explained the distillery and liquors behind the bar, and when met with an unusual drink request, he didn't think twice about accommodating it! Very poor customer service. Ordered food, waitress came back 10 minutes later stating the kitchen ran out of food. She then came back 10 minutes after that stating the kitchen can now make food again. The manager was not very pleasant, unapologetically took seats away from our party's table to give them to a "vip" group. In addition to these issues, ordered drinks took approximately 15-20 minutes to receive. Will not return to this establishment since there are restaurants in the area with a better food/drink selection, flawless customer service and better pricing. Huge disappointment! read more
