    Rotted Meat

This 1-Star Rating is not for the Fresh Market in General, that is rated an easy 5-Star ! This specific rating is for a vendor down on the lower level called (Massimo's Italian Bakery), if I could give negative ratings, I would trust me .... We frequently stop here at the Fresh Markets, we love the the Mid State Distillery and other vendors We stopped in this past Saturday, March 16th and we purchased 2 Ham & Cheese Calzones from this place, they were in a glass case, they had a stack of them, they are priced at $5.00 each. We got them home and heated them up and cut them in half only to find out that the meat is spoiled as you can see in the picture ! You can see the ham had turned to white to indicate a very bad, spoiled meat ! We will call the location in Mechanicsburg on Tuesday and request our money back ! So buyer beware of the meats inside of their products.

We really enjoy visiting the Fresh Markets in Hershey. On the 1st floor, we've enjoy the Greek Gyros , Foltz's pretzels , Taylor Chip Cookies and love to stop by the Midstate Distillery for a cocktail - they make delicious cocktails and the customer service is always amazing!!!! We always stop by Doggie Delights for their great selection of bones/treats for our Juju. He's very picky when it comes to treats and loves their items!!! Moore Desserts by Julie has amazing desserts/cupcakes!!! Just love the "feel" of this market. Plenty of parking, restrooms available and plenty of tables to sit and enjoy!!!!

    Excited for the Soft Opening!

Nice soft opening at Fresh Market in Hershey Towne Square! Longest line this evening was at Taylor Chip. For good reason since the cookies were very tasty! They also offered different coffee and hot beverages. Cookies were sold by the dozen, half dozen, or single. There was a variety of food options at the market. There was a Greek stand, Korean food, meat stand, barbecue, vegan stand, and more! Several drink stands were there including wine, a brewery, and a distillery. And several breakfast options were available also. There is limited seating inside. There were a couple areas with a few tables. One larger area had more tables and bar seating. It was busy when we went so we couldn't find seating. Since this was only the soft opening, I'm excited to see what the rest of the space will look like once it's done!

Our family is obsessed with this place! Something for everyone. Truly it is such an amazing addition to the area and I highly recommend a visit. One constructive criticism - with this many food vendors you need more seating!!!!!!!!! Like double down on the seats, por favor? Today I had I&E Craft Kitchen, my son had a scrumptious Mac and Cheese grilled cheese (amazing) and I had a soup trio. Oh my goodness the seafood soup rocked my world, the chocolate chili was heavenly, and the tomato soup I could live on. This was an incredibly fun lunch to enjoy in the winter!!!!!

Ever Grain moves East with a location inside Fresh Market at Hershey Towne Square. Single cans and four packs are available, including the Sorbetto series, IPAs, and the new Porter. They also have some merchandise for sale. Nice location and friendly service.

They had tons of fun fall activities, an enormous corn maze with fun clues and a bridge, a hay bale climbing tower, a tricycle track, hay rides, bouncy rubber horses for kids to ride on, a giant pool table with soccer balls to be kicked into the corner pockets, and lots more. They also had a lovely market where they had tons of pumpkin varieties, mums of all colors, what seemed like 100 flavors of whoopie pies, cider, and tons more. Awesome day of fun for everyone!

When I heard about RMFM, we took a drive to check it out on this beautiful weekend before Halloween. First off, when we arrived around 1 p.m., it was pretty empty. It picked up when we finally left around 3, but it still wasn't all that crowded compared to most places I've visited before. Second, their Robin Hood Maze and Barnyard Fun Area Activities is a good value in my opinion compared to others. Prices are 3 and under--free, ages 4-12--$7.00, and 13 and up--$9.50. Here's what you get: *Robin Hood Maze with activity book--there are stations throughout the maze to keep it fun and exciting. *Hayride *Trike Track--This might have been the favorite for my boys. The Pedal Karts were close behind but they had less bikes so you had to wait your turn if it was busy. *Pedal Karts *Rubber Ducky Races *Corn Hole *Campfire--not sure what the purpose of this is but it's still cool! Might be nice on a cool day but today was 70° so... *Corn Sandbox *Bouncy thingys--I don't know what they call them but the boys had a lot of fun fooling around. I think what impressed me the most was how unique all of these activities were. Even my 14-year-old son was having so much fun and my youngest son didn't want to leave. Before we left, we did buy a couple of pumpkins and some whoopie pies at the store. They have quite a variety of items. If you're looking for a quieter, less expensive place to take your kids to for the fall next season, then RMFM is it! You can thank me later.

To put it simply, we were born away by our visit to Roots. We had never been to a farmers market…read moreanywhere near the size and diversity of this one. Dozens -- no, hundreds -- of vendors, Amish and others, selling an astonishing variety of foods and gifts of all descriptions. Sorry to be so wordy and vague, but there is so much to Roots. First off, it's open only on Tuesdays, so plan ahead. And get there early; the parking spots -- there are a lot of them -- really fill up. When we arrived at 10:30am, we circled and circled before finding a spot. Secondly, it can get very crowded, and in summer very hot. Dress accordingly. And please note that many of the vendors accept cash only. There are ATM machines scattered around the area, however. The market has indoor and outdoor vendor stands. We loved the delightfully huge food offerings (indoors). Everything fresh. All kinds of meats (loved those sausages). Every kind of fruit and vegetable you could want. lots of Amish vendors, but plenty of others. too. And wow, the selection of foods, clothing items (we bought beautiful, hand-cut belts), antiques, and ...well, we can go on and on. We spent hours here and came away exhausted and VERY happy. And we found ourselves wondering why can't we have a farmers market just half this size with a fraction of the goods for sale somewhere nearer us in New England? Honestly, we could go on for pages about this. We had a wonderful time and recommend a stop here. (And we were told there are several other really outstanding markets in the area). All the other positive Yelps you read about this place are right on. We're fortunate to have visited and are eager to return -- just wish it was closer.

I came specifically to shop in the Main building, area 3, for Tropical Forest Shea Butter Soaps as a birthday gift. I learned about Tropical Forest at the 2025 PA Christmas + Gift Show at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex. Tropical Forest also has a stand at Green Dragon Farmer's Market. I am thankful this farmer's market has a website with a directory of most of the vendors and an office with people to answer questions. And free maps of the entire farmer's market. There is plenty of parking, a plethora of food places to take off or eat while there, a large number of restrooms, and great signage inside and outside of all the buildings. Worth noting, not all stands/vendors take cards; some only accept cash.

My friend and I had fun touring not only the inside, but several shops that had set up outside the day we came. Plenty of fresh produce, homemade goods, flowers, and fun things to look at. If you only visit Lancaster for a few days this is one of the places you have to go. My favorite stands: 1) S. Clyde Weaver has insane specialty sandwiches and is one of my favorite delis. I typically get a large roast beef sandwich with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and the sweet bell peppers. The peppers are my favorite and I always ask for as many as they are legally allowed to give me. Caution: the large subs are ginormous so I usually eat half then save the rest for later. The bread holds up pretty well and doesn't get super soggy, but if you plan to eat it the next day, I would forgo the tomato which can get a bit slippery. 2) Kom Essa features the best breakfast sandwich around. It's greasy, but if that's something you don't mind, this is a must try. 2) Mean Cup is for anything coffee/caffeine related. This might be the best coffee in Lancaster. I practically give all my money to their storefront shop on Harrisburg Pike. 3) Shady Maple is the perfect stop for sweet treats: donuts, whoopie pies, etc. They used to have the best maple bacon long johns (hear me out) but I haven't seen them there for a while. 4) The Candy Stand is nostalgia central for me. Pretty much any type of candy you can think of, you can find there. This was a staple for me when I was younger. 5) Long's Horseradish features the best horseradish you can buy in a gagillion different flavors and variations.

It was larger than the Harrisburg downtown one and reminded me of Reading Terminal in Philly (less crowded but still lots of options). There's also tons of parking all surrounding the building. The upstairs section has small specialty shops; the lower level is full of food vendors -- from produce to fresh pasta to tacos to pizza to pierogies to quiches. They also even had plant stands and floral arrangements. I got 1.5lbs of fresh made spinach fettuccine from Fasta & Ravioli, two very tasty bagels from Bagel Lovers (foccacia flavored and everything egg bagels--both were SO delicious and a great texture; they also had tons of other varieties like pumpernickel, onion, and blueberry, all made fresh daily and for a very reasonable price -- I think I paid something around $3 for my two bagels). I could've spent tons more time there but unfortunately was just stopping by after running an errand in the area. Needless to say, I will be back!!

The fried chicken was the highlight of the meal. It had a golden-brown, crispy coating and was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and not dried out at all. The portions were generous, with some of the largest pieces of fried chicken I've seen from a hot food counter. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, making for a great side dish. The cornbread muffin was moist, soft, and paired well with the meal. The only downside was the potato wedges. They were seasoned well, but a few pieces tasted a little overcooked or burnt, which took away from an otherwise solid meal. Overall, this was a very good first experience. Between the large portions, fresh food, and flavorful chicken, it's definitely worth stopping in if you're looking for a quick comfort-food meal. I'd happily go back and try it again.
