This market offers a variety of specialized vendors on two floors. It is divided between the food floor and the market. My son and I met to catch up on his adventures on the road and enjoy a sandwich together. We hit the market around 11, just as some of the vendors were switching over to lunch. We were able to sample some products while winding our way through a healthy crowd of people who would look at home in an upscale Target or antiquing in a small town on their way to their weekend lake house. By comparison, Dirk and I looked like roadies in some Viking Metal band sittingf in a corner with gyo and beef juice in our beards, but we enjoyed the experience AND the food. If you want the market, you can find curious culinary options from Nordic hot sauces [Pikku Piru] to gourmet mushrooms [Bennett Run]. Dirk chose a falafel from Grill & Gyro which was fat and delicious coming with fresh cut fries in a quantity too big to finish. I enjoyed a "Surrender the Fresh Dip" which was pricey but worth every penny for the tender, seasoned beef on a toasted roll with superb au jus. While I am used to buying my farmer's market pretzels from the Amish, I enjoyed a Foltz original pretzel, though I never understood the pairing of pretzels and lemonade so I declined that suggestion by the nice lady behind the counter. Regardless of what you crave, everyone is personable and passionate about their signature foods. They know it is a competitive market with so much to choose from, but I was happy to see so many people at various spots conducting themselves like regulars, just as happy to chat as have lunch with their favorite vendors. Parking is plentiful and the location is easily accessible just off of Chocolate Avenue It is clean and bright, inviting even in the tightly-packed center corridors that hide some of the more interesting kiosks and treats. My only complaint is the lack of seating. There's so much to choose from but not a lot of space to enjoy it. Dirk and I had to sit at a 4-seater and share with a family of 8 who packed themselves into a corner. Given that the market is only open Thursday to Saturday, plan for patience or go early for breakfast. I was able to sample some wares that were going off sale and they were delicious. I love open markets like this. You can help yourself to produce and then try out any of the amazing food vendors. I was visiting the area for the weekend. My family and I split up to tackle the various vendors. While my family settled for sushi, Korean fried chicken wings, and bento boxes, I couldn't pass up Carmela's for a cheese steak with sharp provolone cheese and crab fries. We all shared anyway. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures of all the other food. It was glorious. Other than the wings, all the vendors were very quick to get the orders out. There were several eating areas which was helpful because I think we got there 30 mins before the dinner rush was coming in. The vibe is very nice. I grew up going to reading terminal market in Philly so having little markets like this around is always a delight. I hope the vendors do well because there's so many other vendors I'd like to try. read more

Cute little Amish market with a variety of vendors downstairs. Upstairs has more of the made to order food court with seats. When we came today it was busy but not overly crowded for a Saturday. There was a local band playing tunes. We had soft pretzels, whoopie pies and orangeaide. Everything was fresh and yummy. Very well priced. UPMC is upstairs attached and had Bluey so the kiddos really enjoyed that. read more

This specific rating is for a vendor down on the lower level called (Massimo's Italian Bakery), if I could give negative ratings, I would trust me .... We frequently stop here at the Fresh Markets, we love the the Mid State Distillery and other vendors We stopped in this past Saturday, March 16th and we purchased 2 Ham & Cheese Calzones from this place, they were in a glass case, they had a stack of them, they are priced at $5.00 each. We got them home and heated them up and cut them in half only to find out that the meat is spoiled as you can see in the picture ! You can see the ham had turned to white to indicate a very bad, spoiled meat ! We will call the location in Mechanicsburg on Tuesday and request our money back ! So buyer beware of the meats inside of their products. read more

We really enjoy visiting the Fresh Markets in Hershey. On the 1st floor, we've enjoy the Greek Gyros , Foltz's pretzels , Taylor Chip Cookies and love to stop by the Midstate Distillery for a cocktail - they make delicious cocktails and the customer service is always amazing!!!! We always stop by Doggie Delights for their great selection of bones/treats for our Juju. He's very picky when it comes to treats and loves their items!!! Moore Desserts by Julie has amazing desserts/cupcakes!!! Just love the "feel" of this market. Plenty of parking, restrooms available and plenty of tables to sit and enjoy!!!! read more

Out antiquing for the day and came here looking for food. With two levels of vendors, we walked around a couple times before deciding where to eat. They have everything from tacos, gyros, burgers & desserts. We opted for Owl Hill Provisions for lunch. The Meatloaf sandwich and French Dip were great with a little place to sit and eat. We passed Taylor Chip Cookies, the smell was amazing and the selection is fabulous. The line was down the aisle with customers patiently waiting. We met a lovely woman at Seasons: Imported Balsamic Vinegar from Italy & Infused Olive Oil. She gave us a few samples to try. They were so good I purchased a couple bottles. There is another vendor here, Debra Hoyt Fine Art. She designs her own beautiful greeting cards, pillows and coasters. I found a few gifts for family. Lastly, we stopped at Midstate Distillery where we sat at the bar and had a couple of their specialty cocktails. We also had a couple tastings and purchased their Four Grain Bourbon and Pickle Vodka. This is such a fun place to browse with plenty of free parking, food vendors, fresh flowers & gifts. read more

Nice soft opening at Fresh Market in Hershey Towne Square! Longest line this evening was at Taylor Chip. For good reason since the cookies were very tasty! They also offered different coffee and hot beverages. Cookies were sold by the dozen, half dozen, or single. There was a variety of food options at the market. There was a Greek stand, Korean food, meat stand, barbecue, vegan stand, and more! Several drink stands were there including wine, a brewery, and a distillery. And several breakfast options were available also. There is limited seating inside. There were a couple areas with a few tables. One larger area had more tables and bar seating. It was busy when we went so we couldn't find seating. Since this was only the soft opening, I'm excited to see what the rest of the space will look like once it's done! read more

Our family is obsessed with this place! Something for everyone. Truly it is such an amazing addition to the area and I highly recommend a visit. One constructive criticism - with this many food vendors you need more seating!!!!!!!!! Like double down on the seats, por favor? Today I had I&E Craft Kitchen, my son had a scrumptious Mac and Cheese grilled cheese (amazing) and I had a soup trio. A fantastic breath of fresh air in Hershey. I love this concept, and have been a big supporter of these types of variety markets in the past. They made a similar market in Easton when I lived there and it was, and continues to be, a huge success, so I'm hoping for the same for my town of Hershey. I've been here with a large group, and everyone was able to find something that they liked. So far they're still in the early stages, but the vendors are fantastic, the variety is great, and the venue looks good as well. Will definitely be coming here very frequently. read more

3 stars for the facilities, 5 stars for the vendors. Stopped by for their soft opening. Not all vendors were opened yet, but that was to be expected (breakfast hours on the first day). They have a great assortment of options. There's literally something for everyone and there's little to no overlap in what each vendor offers. The staff at each stand that I spoke with were very friendly and helpful. There are a few small dining areas, but not many. During peak times when the market is in full swing I'm guessing these will fill up fast. There was plenty of space to move about while I was there, but when it gets busier I'm guessing anyone with a stroller might have a more difficult time. Market hours are 8am to 8pm, Thursday through Saturday. Select vendors may also be open Wednesday and /or Sunday but it's not standard across the whole market. The food court portion of the market is located on the first floor, with a more standard farmer's market area opening downstairs in the next couple of months. The market will be sharing the building with a few other businesses as well. Parking is currently available in the garage immediately next to the entrance or in the larger garage behind the museum. An additional lot is partially being used by construction vehicles. The building itself doesn't necessarily scream "market" but the developers did a good job keeping the original look of the building on the outside. Update: Came back the next day (Friday) around noon. As expected, there weren't enough tables for diners. Being a food court, inadequate seating seems like a big oversight. More than one table I observed were folks casually drinking their Starbucks which isn't even in this building. I can't imagine what a weekend will look like when all the restaurant vendors are open. Hopefully we'll see more downstairs when that portion opens. It would have been nice to see some outdoor seating, perhaps a small patio on one side of the building by the distillery entrance. Also, the developers seemed to have cut corners on the tables and chairs. They might have liked the industrial look, but they feel flimsy and are super uncomfortable. They could have gotten creative with different seating types that would have better maximized the space and given it a warmer feel but that didn't see like a priority. Also, I may have missed them, but I didn't see any highchairs around. Just a heads up for folks coming with little ones. read more

Today was the 1st time i have headed to this market, and there was plenty of parking. I arrived at 9 am on a Saturday. Started on the 1st floor, grabbed an amazing coffee liquor drink at mid state for $9.00, and sampled three of their craft vodka creations for free! Then, I walked over to Taylor chip and had to try a cookie after hearing all the hype. Picked up a Brookie and a salted Carmel pretzel. One bite of the salted caramel and I was in heaven worth every penny of the $4.50. We then wanted to try something for breakfast and tried I & E craft kitchen. Ordered the ham, egg, and cheese flatbread for $9.00. Seriously one of the best Flatbreads I've ever had if I had to critique I would say I could use a drizzle of sauce on the bottom or top, the ham was amazing the base was amazing and great price. We adventured down to the ground level, stopped by, and got dog treats from doggie delights, which are very affordable, amazing treats. Stopped at meat stand and sampled some amazing cheeses. Walking around the pickle stand was very good. I tried the ahola pickle, which was excellent, $10 bucks for a small I thought was a little pricey, so I didn't buy. Tried mead, which was $15 for a small bottle. Also, I thought it was pricey. Ended the day going back to 1st level and trying a pretzel from the pretzel place. They were fresh out of the oven, and they were rather good. They got two for a little over $6. All in all, it's a rather good market, and I would return. read more
