While exploring the shops and markets around the Lancaster area, we came across this place through a Google search, and we're so glad we did. The market offered a wonderful selection of homemade goods, baked treats, fresh flowers, and locally grown produce. It was bustling with activity, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling through the market, chatting with the vendors, and discovering plenty of delicious items to sample and take home. It was a great experience and definitely worth a visit.

"For it's always just a short walk To the oldest established permanent floating Crap game in New York" (Guys and Dolls) Well, we didn't exactly have a short walk to the oldest established permanent Farmer's Market in the United States. That's because on our visit, three of the parking garages bordering the market were full, and by the time we found street parking (you'd better polish up your parallel parking skills) it was close to a 30-minute stroll to this historic landmark. The market goes way back--all the way to 1730--when local farmers rolled into town with whatever they'd harvested and sold it in what was then just an open field in the center of the growing community. Today, it is home to over 65 vendors selling fruits & vegetables, meats, poultry, fish & cheeses, fresh baked bread, pretzels, pierogis, handmade dishes, smoothies, flowers, hot coffee, sweet treats, and even pickles. We had a blast wandering through the crowded aisles and picking up a few odds and ends. If you love jerky and meat sticks (as I do), you will walk out with a ton of goodies (as I did).

There was a great variety of local food and drinks. It was a cool place to check out. Many vendors offer samples which was nice. I bought dog treats, organic turnips, and goat milk yogurt. One thing that I found very surprising is that even the Amish stands do not have organic goods. There was only one organic stand. It was a hustling and bustling place. It is set back from the road but everyone was helpful to point us in the right direction.

Great little market with fresh produce, baked goods and crafts. Located near lots of food and shopping options. Parking can be a bit hard to find during peak hours. Lots of tourists and locals interacting with the friendly vendors.

Lancaster Central Market is an absolute gem and 100% worth the visit. It's open Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, and we stopped in on a Friday morning after breakfast on Prince Street. Let's talk logistics first: Parking can be a little tricky. It's 2 hour street parking, and since it's right in the center of the city, spots are at a premium. Add snowbanks into the mix and yeah it takes a little patience. The market itself is wonderful. There are so many different vendors packed into one space fresh flowers, meats, seafood, pickles, baked goods, breads, candles, and plenty more. It's one of those places where every aisle has something that makes you stop and say, "Oh... I need that." I came home with pickles, bread, red beets, and doughnuts, and honestly could've left with twice as much. Everything felt fresh, local, and thoughtfully made. The vibe is lively without being overwhelming, and it's just fun to wander, browse, and snack your way through. Parking might take a little effort, but Lancaster Central Market is absolutely worth it. We'll definitely be back probably hungry, probably leaving with bags again. Highly recommend.

A friend had invited me and I thought it was just another farmer's market. It is so much more, fresh fruits, veggies, milk honey, herbs spices, all kinds of stuff to make you feel better inside and out. The service from all the vendors was welcoming and helpful! Such a good place to buy and sample fresh food. Very clean atmosphere! Great selection of all food types! Something for everyone! Good quality of desserts, fruits, veggies, it felt like everyone brought their "A"game. Cant wait to go back and explore some more.

Parking is rough, it is what you would expect in a city setting. Either pay for a lot or find street parking and pay 2.50/hr. Tons of choices for everyone! Every vendor was unique and diverse. Central market bagel did not toast their bagels which was a bit odd, but they have amazing juice. Pretzel breakfast sandwich was tasty at Pretzels on Market! (Their actual soft pretzels were Philly Soft Pretzel which was misleading, I recommend the Amish pretzel location around the corner). The staff at all the stands were helpful and great! Maplehofe has an array of colorful milk including blueberry, chocolate and orange cream. They are always delicious! Egg nog flavor is in stock for the holidays!

Sooo glad I was able to make it to the Lancaster Food Market! I had the pleasure to visit the beeyutiful Lancaster Central Market during Labor Day Weekened and boy was it crowded. Lancaster Central Market is a large building that offers an array of items such as clothing, food and candy from all over the world. It's similar to the Reading Terminal in Philly. The different vendors sold a variety of food such as empanadas, chocolate candy, dutch food like stroopwaffles and a variety of meats and seafood. I also saw flowers. You can defintely spend hours just walking, exploring and catching a vibe. Overall I left with a bag of different items such as empanadas, flowers, some snacks and I tried sugar cane juice for the first time which was pretty refreshing!

Lancaster Central Market is a must do. It's located right in the heart of the city and is ALWAYS busy. A parking garage is available across the street or on the street, if you could find a space. Here, you'll find rows and rows of vendors with everything from apparel, produce, food, beverages, and souvenirs. Right outside of the market you'll have a few benches, in order to enjoy your purchase and you might, as we did, be entertained by a street musician. This is a nice area, that I'm sure will satisfy whatever you may desire and enjoy.

Good time at the market - very nice for a early morning trip. You could easily walk through in 30min or so, so it's a smaller market but cute area and surrounding shops are nice too. Some of our favorite spots, coffee (mean cup), fresh pretzels (kom essa), and donuts / long john (shady maple) - would absolutely recommend, but you have to get there early and bring cash! Some spots are cash only.

Lancaster Central Market is a large market that houses so many unique and different booths. There is everything from butchers to flower shops to pastries and spices! I ordered a sandwich from Farm2Table Creations and it was delicious. They also sold cheeses and Amish butter. The market is clean and has public bathrooms. There are a handful of small tables to eat at. Parking here can be a nightmare! I used the Hager Parking lot and paid $4 for an hour.

Do any of the vendors carry ham loaf? If so, which, & where within the market are they?

Check S Clyde Weaver. This is a large stand that runs along the exterior wall under the loft area.

Is there an area indoors where you can sit down and eat what you bought?

There are small tables around the interior perimeter and in the loft, as well as tables and benches outside for those nice weather days.

    What are hours of operation?

    Tuesday Friday Saturday 6a-3p

Has anyone seen Amish butter at this market?

I've seen the Weaver's stand have it occasionally.

    Is the parking plentiful?

Many people park in the Prince St Garage only one block away. It's not expensive. https://www.lancasterparkingauthority.com/where-to-park/garages-and-lots/

We came here without any farmers market food vouchers. I ponder with hope and wonder if Cherry Hill offers apple picking, pumpkin U-pick or strawberry picking like NYS Hudson Valley. There are no photo stand-in, face-in-hole board, or peep board for families to participate making memories. Customer service is average. I did obtain my sales receipt. Blueberries, one pint $4.99 Fresh and plump to sustain for 1.5 day with refrigeration. Chocolate cherry cordials $0.75 each X 2 = $1.50 One milk chocolate and one dark chocolate which were average. I immediately engulfed these chocolates upon entering the car. Maple syrup, 8 oz. jug $10.99 Maple syrup price has risen exorbitant outrageously high in the past decade that $10.99 has become the standard lowest price. I have a predilection for maple syrup specifically Canadian maple syrup. Yum! I did not know that Lancaster, PA offers maple sugaring season. Amish Country in Pennsylvania has certainly more presence and impact for farming agricultural lifestyle in Lancaster, PA. Lancaster, PA once served as the capital of Pennsylvania from 1799 to 1812. Secretly, as my desideratum I wanted the 12 oz. maple syrup jug size, but I do not have the space in my duffle travel bag for the long-haul car ride return to NYC!

The entrance ticket costs about $15 and includes the opportunity to enjoy all of the above and one sunflower stem. Additional stems were about a dollar extra I believe. Since I don't have kids I didn't partake in any of the kids activities so I thought ticket price was a bit steep but if you have kids and hang around for longer it would be more worth it. The appeal for me was that this sunflower field was much less crowded than others in Bucks and Montgomery counties so more pleasant and safer in the time of COVID. Right now they're running their autumnal festivities which include a pumpkin patch hayride, a corn maze and their year round animal exhibits. Strangely enough I'm impressed with their pumpkin selections since they have a few different varieties and not just the typical big orange pumpkins you find everywhere else. Their maze is about on par with other corn mazes. My only issue is that the line in the market gets insane when the hayrides drop off there after the pumpkin patch. This is a huge bottle neck which is a big pain and should be addressed. Aside from that this place is a nice way to spend an autumn day and buy some delicious farm goods.
