Tulip Days at Flinchbaugh's Orchard had been popping up all over my social media feed, and with…read more200,000 tulips in bloom, I knew I had to make it happen. My spring adventure schedule was packed, so I didn't make it out until the very last day--but I was determined to catch those blooms before they were gone! I purchased my ticket ahead of time through their website, which was quick, easy, and made me feel totally prepared for my first visit. My adventure buddy and I selected the 12:30pm time slot, and when we arrived right on time, there were a lot of cars--but everything was so well organized that parking was a breeze. It was clearly marked, easy to navigate, and because guests were arriving in staggered time slots, it never felt overwhelming. Before heading out to the fields, we popped into the farm market--and WOW! Super cute, surprisingly large, and packed with everything from baked goods to houseplants and gifts. Prices were reasonable, and it was definitely worth taking a few minutes to browse. Check-in for the tulip field was just as smooth. We walked up to the check-in hut, had our QR codes scanned, grabbed our wristbands, and were on our way within maybe two minutes. For 12:30pm on the final day of the event, I was honestly expecting a line--major kudos to Flinchbaugh's for keeping things moving so efficiently. And then... the tulip field. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Now, it was the last day, and you could tell in the front sections where tulip cutting had been allowed--some blooms were missing, some areas looked a little trampled, and things were definitely a bit worn. But here's where Flinchbaugh's really impressed me: they had clearly marked sections further back as "PHOTOS ONLY - NO CUTTING," and those areas were stunning. Full, vibrant, untouched rows of tulips that made for incredible photos and a much more immersive experience. We spent about an hour wandering through the fields, taking photos, and enjoying all the thoughtfully placed photo prop stations. Another huge win--those props were spaced out perfectly. No long lines, no crowding, no awkward waiting around. You could just move from one spot to the next and actually enjoy the experience without feeling rushed or packed in. I've visited a few flower fields over the past year, and this was by far the most organized and least chaotic. Everything--from parking to check-in to field flow--felt intentional and well thought out. I'm personally more of a "leave the flowers where they grow" kind of person, so I loved being able to simply walk, admire, and take it all in. For me, this was the perfect way to kick off my 2026 flower field adventures--and it set the bar high! At $10 for admission, this was an incredibly reasonable way to spend a few hours soaking up sunshine, enjoying beautiful blooms, and making a little springtime magic on a Saturday afternoon. I'll absolutely be back next year--just maybe a little earlier in the season to catch even more of those blooms at their peak!

When we arrived to the register, they said it was priced wrong!, it was FIVE DOLLARS! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!! THE COOKIE WAS MAD RAW! my girlfriend HAD A BITE of the cookie and she is feeling AWFUL this morning BECAUSE of the COOKIE! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Since it's been some time since I last shopped here, it was a treat browsing all the vendor stands and seeing what foods are available. As a garden/flower enthusiast, you know I had to check out the flower stands like Perfect Pots and Inspirational Blossoms, both with fresh blooms. For lunch, after a taste test, I opted for Soulcialze, which provided generous portions of mac n cheese, collards, beef brisket, and cornbread. Tables are provided for lunch or snacks, but we had to wait a few minutes because none were available. At Lancaster Central, you can expect a friendly atmosphere in this beautiful historic building, where the local community shops and supports. I usually secure parking via parking apps at the Hager lot or one of the two nearby parking garages.

That's because on our visit, three of the parking garages bordering the market were full, and by the time we found street parking (you'd better polish up your parallel parking skills) it was close to a 30-minute stroll to this historic landmark. The market goes way back--all the way to 1730--when local farmers rolled into town with whatever they'd harvested and sold it in what was then just an open field in the center of the growing community. Today, it is home to over 65 vendors selling fruits & vegetables, meats, poultry, fish & cheeses, fresh baked bread, pretzels, pierogis, handmade dishes, smoothies, flowers, hot coffee, sweet treats, and even pickles. We had a blast wandering through the crowded aisles and picking up a few odds and ends. If you love jerky and meat sticks (as I do), you will walk out with a ton of goodies (as I did).

We got their Chocolate Covered Strawberry Milk, it was very good, but I think I still prefer traditional chocolate milk. They have other unique flavors of milk such as Vanilla, Strawberry, Orange Creamsicle and Cookies and Cream. Their Ice cream is fantastic, but our favorite is the Sherbert Push Pops. Think the old Flintstones ones from when you were a kid and the ice cream truck came around...BUT BETTER! In the summer, they have cows you can feed and pet. Tons of things for kids to do here. They have cutouts for photo ops and tons of area outside for kids to run around and play. It is an active dairy farm. Tons of farm decor and learning experiences. You can watch how they milk cows and bottle their milk. Service was average. Kids were running the show, is what it is. The cashier didn't even ask us if we wanted a bag after checking us out. He walked away and we bagged our own products which included 3 milks and 2 ice cream pints. If it wasn't for the service easy 5 star review.

Not only is this a working dairy farm where you can take a self guided tour (see the milking parlor and bottling plant) but they have a shop on-site where you can buy all their delicious varieties of milk, cheese, baked goods and other treats. We loved meeting all the calves and also getting to speak with one of the owners who was extremely generous with her time and spoke to me and my little one about the farm, their process with keeping their cows happy throughout all year in all temperatures and maintaining the farm. We will absolutely go back when we're in the area! This is a must see for anyone who appreciates cows, milk or just seeing a farm in action.

Plan accordingly since these sellers only gather on Friday. The items for sale include home made goods, fresh produce, meats, jams, toiletries, furniture, souvenirs, electronic gadgets and items you didn't know you needed (wanted). The layout of the grounds are listed on the website. I like parking by building six. Most of my "wish list" vendors were clustered in or near the building. It is easier to keep track of where we parked too. Allow extra time to carefully drive around the area. Shoppers are focused on moving to their destination and not always paying attention to safely walking. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking on hard floors inside the buildings and uneven terrain outside (gravel, grass, dirt). Bring several shopping bags. Not all of the sellers take credit cards. Cash is preferred. Bring small bills. Some businesses will negotiate prices if you are buying several items. Food is everywhere. Many places allow sampling. The home made cheeses are incredible. The popular stations are going to have a line. The lines move quickly. Pretzels are the reason we chose to visit. I enjoyed watching the entire creating process. Bring zip lock bags. Those wax bags get soggy after walking around. Make sure you eat one after it was made to savor the flavor. Try mustard and cheese dip to get the full pretzel experience. There are tables throughout the property. The donuts are magazine worthy. We got a half dozen ($9 ish dollars). You might want to bring hand wipes to use after enjoying a yummy sweet treat. Pay attention to where you parked. There is a good chance you will need to unload bags in your car and start the shopping process over. Hubby had a belt measured and made for him. It was interesting to watch the holes being put in. There were dozens of styles and varied materials. This was a fun (and exhausting) experience. I love Avon purchases in person where I am walking away with products in hand and not waiting for a delivery. Lapp ice cream is a must. There isn't a limit on sampling. There is something for everyone. Since we had lots of activities planned for the weekend, I researched the stores and layout of the area to make the best of my time. The items inside a building or store are more quality than some of the products spread out on tables outside. It is also convenient sitting inside to grab a bite. I hope to return sometime.
