Great food. Wandering the Pennsylvania rural area we came upon this nice little family joint.

So let me start by saying I ordered online and there weren't descriptions for everything had I known I wouldn't have ordered. So let's start with the good the staff were all very friendly and I was asked several times if I had been taken care of while the hostess was in back getting my order. I ordered the pierogi as a starter and the stuffed meatloaf. Let's start with the pierogi and where it all went wrong. I'm not sure if it is a local thing but whoever thought to put creamy Italian dressing all over them has very questionable taste. It really is a shame because the pierogi themselves had a nice bite and the filling was good but everything was so overpowered by that garish sauce I even wiped them off with a paper towel but the vinegar had soaked in, when you are going to mess with a classic put your brilliant idea on the side (and since it was to go even more necessary). It was bad. The stuffed meatloaf was good giant portion more than enough for two meals. I look forward to giving them a second chance and attending a trivia night. read more

Put this on your list if you're visiting Hershey Pa, it's down the road a bit in a neighboring city but worth it. My husband and I both ate meals from their Oktoberfest specials and they were delicious, huge and way too much food but very good. We felt a little wasteful but we were just visiting the area and could take anything to go. Beautiful restaurant and lovely staff, plenty of seating. read more

Everything was excellent. We've gone there all the time after we come out of Hershey Park and sometimes before for breakfast. Service was spot on and food was so creative ! My wife and I would have to consider between specials that day or regular entries on the menu. Review our pictures for our selections we picked. I met a friend for breakfast at Funk's Restaurant and it was another great experience. She ordered the Benedict fries and I got the smoked salmon Benedict served on a croissant, and both meals were HUGE and absolutely delicious. The portions here are no joke and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. We also had a slice of peanut butter pie made by Lisa, and her desserts are always amazing. If you see one of her desserts on the menu, it's worth saving room. Breakfast is honestly my favorite meals to get at Funk's. I've also been for brunch before and that's great too. They have a big menu, lots of beers on tap, and some really good specialty cocktails. The only thing to note is that when it gets really busy it can feel a little congested and noisy, but overall the atmosphere is comfortable and has a really good vibe. I can't remember our server's name, but he was super friendly, personable, and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, Funk's is a great local spot and definitely one of my go to places for breakfast in the area. read more

Funck's has been a family favorite restaurant for my entire life, with gatherings and small meals over the years. In recent years it's been updated and modernized, but the front dining area still feels the same. The back area that used to be the banquet hall is now a bar and casual dining area. Funck's got into craft beer and has a great tap list, ranging from national favorites to a lot of local and regional craft. Their food menu is varied with something for everyone. Prices are reasonable for the area and a night out. I've been many times but recently came for a family meal that was on bingo night. We all had meals, tried some craft beer, and played bingo. Our server was new but tried her best and we had a great experience. My only slight disappointment was a lot of the beers I wanted to try were out, with nothing to replace them. I ate an autumn salad with Brussels sprouts and loved it; other family had fish, soup, and cake. All the food was a hit. If you're looking for a family dining experience with quality food and ingredients, plus a good beer selection, this is a great option in Palmyra. read more

We recently visited here when we went to Hershey PA for family vacation! We had Tabitha as our waitress and she was SUPER helpful with the menu as well as local knows she helps us with tricks/must knows for Hershey too! We got the cheesesteak egg rolls (not something we would normally order) but it was AMAZING! The pretzel app was delicious for main courses we got meatloaf(my FIL loved it and still talking about it), BBQ burger, stir fry special and a smash burger as well as kids meal chicken nuggets with fries! We then finished with the half baked cookie that was delicious- mouth watering!! They have happy hour with drinks apps and meals!! The environment there was relaxing and unique, very clean!! Funck's is a well know establishment. It's been here for years and doesn't seem like it's going anywhere anytime soon. There are two different sides of the restaurant, one near the bar and the other in the front of the house. The front of the house has a family style diner feel to it with bright lights and happy hometown faces. The bar area on the other hand has a little bit lower light and has that almost of romantic date night feel to it. Overtime the food has been perfected here so you're not going to get something off the menu that hasn't been tried and tested for years. There's no experimentation here. You know when you order it it's going to be good. There's plenty of parking handicap accessibility, and it is family friendly. read more

We ordered via door dash. The items arrived very quickly so we were optimistic. I ordered the mozzarella moons. They were a slice of mozzarella cheese in stale breading that was ice cold. Other entrees included the crab pretzel. The pretzel was stale. Another one of our party ordered the boneless wings which were ok; however the ranch was forgotten. Overall, look elsewhere. read more

Last 2 times I've ordered a medium well then well done burger it's been med rare to med depending on section of the burger. Asked for only cheese and onion given cheese tomatoe lettuce leaving out the onion both times. Don't order take out from here... I'd post a photo if I could read more

Our food was excellent--big portions, came out hot, and reasonably priced. We had the pretzel and beer cheese for a starter (DELICIOUS), whiskey Mac and cheese, and chocolate chip cookie. Our waitress Tabatha was awesome and super friendly. Would definitely recommend eating here if you're nearby. read more

***DO NOT GO HERE IF TRAVELING TO HERSHEY PARK*** We had a great start , appetizers were delicious!!! Until we got our entrees which by the way took so long to come. 2/6 entrees were freezing cold. Another entree had an issue. The server was extremely nice and helpful considering it was her third day working there. Once we addressed the issues with the server we were offered to either "warm up our food" or remake it. Manger comped the meal but he seemed scared, not very welcoming for a family that lives 2 hours away. If you enjoyed your time at Hershey park do not ruin your evening by going here. I do have to say whoever decorated the restaurant is amazing at their job and should consider taking their talents somewhere else. Yelp came through for us again. While traveling, I always check out Yelp to help us find a place to eat. I found Funck's!! Honestly their score should be higher. The restaurant is super clean with plenty of seating. The staff was friendly and helpful but the true test is the food and our appetizers and main dishes were SO good!!! There is a variety of foods to choose from so even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something to eat. read more

Traveling through the area and saw an advertisement for Funck's. Plenty of parking. Very clean bathroom. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant. Beautiful St Patrick's Day decorations. Extensive beer/bar menu. The waitress greeted us immediately and gave us suggestions on the food. Service was great. The fried Brussels sprouts were delicious. If you're looking for a brunch buffet not far from Hershey, I definitely recommend Funck's. It's not too expensive and they have several choices of dishes. You can also pick a la carte menu. Besides that, they have choices of cocktail drinks. My husband had blood Mary and it was served with celery and bacon. Plenty of seatings but it can be filled up really fast on Sunday morning. Service was great. Our waitress was attentive although she told us wrong soup menu for the buffet. Buffet includes chips and beef with gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, toast, hash brown,made-to-order omelette and waffles, bacon. You can customize your omelette with the fillings. You can also get salad, Mac and cheese, barbecue meatballs, Chilli, and dessert (fresh fruit, red velvet cake) Chilli was very good and generous with meat, perfect for a cold day. It's perfectly seasoned and not too salty. Meatballs has some spicy kick in it. None of those that I mentioned disappointed us. My husband really enjoyed his sausage patties. read more

Riley W was our server and she was extremely attentive and courteous, with the amount of responsibility placed upon her with the other patrons. My husband and I visited Funk's for the Sunday Brunch Buffett. We were greeted and seated promptly only to have our server have an astonished look on her face while she came to our table caring drinks for the people that were seated there, but were at the buffett. Apparently the hostess forgot she had already seated another couple there. After moving to another booth we put in our drink order and headed to the buffett. The "buffet" is lined in front of the bar with an omelet station. Selection was very limited with just the traditional eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, as well as 2 soups, meatloaf and a pasta dish. Dessert was very minimal and there was cantaloupe and honey dew for a fruit option. Items were not labeled very well, the meatloaf was pretty much inedible as it just tasted like fillers and had kind of a grayish color. The chicken corn noodle soup with rivels was a think goopy mess but didn't taste to bad. The other soup had no label and it was thick as well. Very dissapointed in the tiny muffins offered for "dessert ". The service was good and the ambience was more suited for evening dinner than breakfast and it was just really dark in that area of the restaurant. Came here for their AYCE Sunday Brunch Buffet during a visit to Hershey Park. Typical offerings included bacon, ham, sausage, an omelet station, Belgium waffles, and various fruits. Also offered was a chili and a chicken corn chowder soup, and both were quite tasty. Staff were friendly, and many of the patrons appeared to be locals.
